Error while unarchiving MDM Repository

Hello All,
I am facing an error while unarchiving an MDM(5.5 SP06) repository.
Error writing Lob Original to table A2i_Originals_6
$$$ Operation ended in ERROR : 84020008H : Database binary object error.
Dropping failed Target Repository.
And the mds crashes
I am using Oracle Database and the connection to DB is fine. The Archived repository dump is not corrupt as it worked fine on other server.
Can some one please help.

I tried doing that . Now after compacting i am not getting warning while verifying but while archiving i am getting following error :

Also I tried unarchiving from earlier archived file but for unarchiving also its giving me following Error:
MDM Repository data is out of date or locked by another MDM Server. Refresh the data and try the operation again.
I checked. There is no another MDM server accessing the repository. What does it mean by Refresh Data.
Do above two problems inter-related.
Can anybody help me on this.

have you configured dynamo_home ? do you see any errors in your eclipse(or whatever IDE) you are using ? looks like jars are missing .

Please check whether you have the sufficent authorization for loggin into the XI- IR . I would like you to login in with "XIREPUSER" this a standard user (service user). See and tell me.

Error while opening MDM Data Manager

Hi,
We are getting the following error while trying to open Data manager on our repository.
"Error Initializing Attributes for table Taxonomy
Application will exit
Already exists"
mds Version 5.5.42.90
MDM DataManager Ver5.5.42.90
The repository loads without any errors. The server log file too doesnt show any errors.
Is there anyway to fix this?

Go to your MDM console, Login to repository and Unload repository first.
Then load with Update Indices.
This problem comes when you change anything in schema in console and then load repository with immediate option.
So always prefer to use update indices as accelator files will get updated and data comes from actual database.
If the problem still persists then Go again to console and check your repository for any fatal error. if errors come then repair repository and if not come then also repair.
Then load with update indices.

Error while loading the repository - ASAP

Hello Experts,
I have written a java application using MDM Java API to load and fetch records from the repository. While executing the program i get this exception:
com.sap.mdm.commands.CommandException: com.sap.mdm.internal.protocol.manual.ServerException: The specified MDM repository was not found on the server

at com.sap.mdm.commands.GetRepositoryRegionListCommand.execute(GetRepositoryRegionListCommand.java:84)
Actually the same program works fine on sandbox server when we are trying to deploy it on dev server it throws this error.
I have also changed the server parameters as per the dev sys to deploy.
Can anyone give me solution how to resolve this error.

Hi Aparna,
When connecting MDM to the Portal through the Java API you need to make sure you are working with the correct matched Sca files.
The MDMJAVAAPI .sca file taht are deployed on the WAS for workinng with MDM needs to match exactly with the MDM version in terms of it SP and Patch number.If its does not then there are errors in integration.
Make sure that when you have migrated to the Development server from the Sandbox you ahve maintained the same server vserion and if not then you need to redeploy the correct version fles on was as per the Dev MDM server configurations.
Also try restrating the WAS and the MDM server and try connecting again.
Make sure the Dev rep you are working upon is mounted and loaded before connecting.

I'm not sure what you mean by setting the DBMS settings to blank... in mds.ini? This used to work in the Console when using SQL Server, but now by default it's disabled (but if you're trying this in the Console, you'd get an error right away on the mount/create/duplicate screen).
I assume the verify/repair found no errors? Have you tried archiving and unarchiving the repository? It's a cheesy way to do a Duplicate operation -- maybe it will help you in the short term while we figure out what's going on (unless you can't unarchive because of the same error).
Are you using the administrator user (I think in Oracle it's called System) or a user that you created yourself? Is it a user that MDS/Console proposed to create for you when you first used this Oracle DBMS? (That would've been a long time ago, since you're upgrading from SP4 -- this user is fine, but one that you may have created yourself may not have all the right permissions.)
Could you please post the version number you're using, so I can find out if there are any known issues? Also, please make sure the version of the Oracle client on the machine that is running MDS is up-to-date with respect to the Oracle server (assuming they are not the same machine).
I will also do further investigation about the error in the log. Thank you for your patience; we will do everything we can to get you up and running as soon as possible!

Error while Creating Master Repository: ORA-01031: insufficient Privileges

Hi,
I'm trying to install ODI into my VM.
I have done the installation and while creating Master Repository, I'm getting following error:
ORA-01031: insufficient Privileges
I'm using Oracle & have created user as ODI_MASTER with Admin Privileges.
I'll be using it to load metadata onto planning (Version 11.1.2)
Is there anything that I'm missing out on.

Seems missing grants on the user you are using to create Master Repository.
you are using Oracle .. grant connect, resource to <your_user>. These two rolesa have sufficient access to db to create the master repository.
execuute the sql from sys user

INS0017: Error while installing OWB Repository.

Hi All,
I am trying to install OWB 9.0.2.56 on windows NT env.
Steps followed are.
1> I managed to install OWB client.
2> Selected Oracle9i Warehouse Builder Repository Assistant to install Repository. After installing the repository upto 31 % it displays following error message.
'INS0017:Installation of the seeded data failed.'
Does someone know moare about it ?
Please note that objects are created in schema specified while installing OWB Repository.

Error while promoting the repository to a global repository

Hi,
After restoring the repository, I try to promote the repository to a global repository in an Exclusive mode. When check the Global Repository check box and click OK. Pops up User name & password. I have used[i] admin user name and password. It gives me an error:
The following error occurred while performing a repository action. Error - [PCSF_10007] Cannot connect to repository [PowerCenter] because: [[REP_57060] Login failure. The user admin is not valid for the repository PowerCenter Failed to connect to repository service [PowerCenter].].
can anyone provide more information on this. Your guidance will be greatly appreciated.

I can connect to Informatica Repository with Administrator user, but the Integration Service is always down, how do I bring it up?

Hi Sundar,
Please provide the export repository command, what you used and the log file to review.
The error "Dictionary is not available on this database" will pop up when Siebel Repository is not present in DB.
For export process you have to give repository name as "Siebel Repository" and it will export schema in to *.dat file.
NOTE: Do not change Siebel Repository name for export process.

Error while configuring work repository details in topology Manager

Hi,
Could anyone pls advice, is it possible creating more than one Master repository connection for the same instance.
When i try to do so, am getting the below error while configuring the work repository details in topology manager.
“A work repository already exists for this connection.
Enter the repository password to declare it in your Master Repository”
I tried with both the new master and work repository password. But no luck.
Previous Master & work details:
Master: PCS_MASTER
Work:PCS_WORKREP
New Details
Master: PCS_MASTER_INT
Work:PCS_WORKREP_INT
Instance: PCBID
Am trying to create new master repository for PCS_MASTER_INT.

In the same oracle schema you can have only 1 master and 1 work repository. Usually they take 2 schema (1 for each).
If you need 2 master repository you have to use 2 different jdbc path. I'm using a db with several master / work, each repo has got its schema..

I am trying to create MDM system in EP. MDM is 5.5 SP06. EP is 7.0 . We have upgraded the MDM sca files on Portal from SP05 to SP06.
While creating the system , after entering the server, we are getting the following error.

Hi Shilpa,
If this is your MDM build version 5.5.63.80 SP06. It means you are using MDM 5.5 SP06 Patch3 hotfix 80.
You need to find the Sca file of compatible with this version.
So they should be
- MDMJAVAAPI06_03.sca
- BPMDMAPPLN06_03.sca
- BPMDMTECHN06_03.sca
The hotfix number can slightly differ but the Support pack and patch number must match.
You need to follow this link:

(download MDM support packages) Download>support packages and patches>entry by application
group>sap netweaver>sap mdm>sap mdm 5.5>Entry by component>Portal content
Then select which MDM portal content you want and check what is the version of those available sca files.
based on the availablity of the sca files you need to upgrade/downgrade or server.
As compatibility between the server version and sca files is a must for proper functioning.If its not possible to change your mdm server version then you can ask your Basis team to hunt the matching sca files for you.

This is a common error people get when configuring Repository Service in Admin Console...
Main reason for this is that there is an incompatible bit versions of Oracle Database and Informatica Server and windows. Try to reinstall Oracle DB or Infa Server and tryconfiguring the same it will work
Or it could be parameter issues if it is linux...
