What happend?
Thanks,

Hi,
From the error message, the error is related to JCO communication. Are you using any JCO destinations in this application? If yes, can you check the JCO destination properties and look for "<i>Logon Group</i>". If it is "<i>SPACE</i>", chage it to "<i>PUBLIC</i>".

  • "out of memeory" error with Adobe Reader x & IE8

    Hello,
Getting an "out of memory" error with Adobe Reader X & IE8. This is a locked down bank environment so upgrading to a higher version of Adobe is out of the question.
I looked around on the web and noticed that many people are experiencing this "out of memory error" but no fix has been provided.
    Can you help?

Thanks for the reply and suggestion - unfortunately, I get this error when I open Adobe Reader X itself in addition to launching a pdf within IE9 (my OS is Win7x64 Ultimate).  I can launch Adobe Reader X, but when I open any kind of PDF file (local copy, remote, web, etc...) the error dialog box pops up.  Everything seems functional with Reader, it's just a frustrating (er, irritating!) thing!  I think after the weekend I will 'give up' and remove the Reader X and go back to my 'old' (but functioning!) Reader - thanks for the comment and suggestion tho!

  • Error with Adobe Acrobat X "error opening the document. The file is damaged and could not recover"

    Good morning,
I have a problem when generating PDF files with Adobe Acrobat X.
When I give print a Word document 2003 ... 2007 ... 2010 ... and select a network drive to save the PDF file, I get the following error "error opening the document. Thefile is damaged and not could recover."
The file is saved on your drive well ... but I always get this error.
    Any ideas???
    Thank you.

First of all thanks for responding.
The installed version of Adobe's Adobe OS X and Windows XP machines is thelatest patch level.
The local system .... works well ... Open Office 2010 ... create a new Word document and save it locally ... and all good.
The problem is though that same machine ... it enters network (not Windows network. OES2 is a network with Novell network client) ... and to open and create a new document to WORD .... when printing the PDF printer ... select a network drive... and when the document is saved well ... but it shows the error.
I have an amount of hours lost with this ... I hope you can help me find a solution.
    Thank you very much.

  • Can't download DW5.5. Error with Adobe Download Assistant

I am getting error 100 with the Adobe Download Assistant (ADA). The log is below. IE can connect to https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/flex2gateway so why is ADA having problem? I wish Adobe didn't take away the direct download links. Searching the forums it seems lots of people are having problems with iADA and it must be causing support headache for Adobe.
My suggestion is for people who know what they're doing, provide the direct links. For people who don't know what to do after the download or have slow connection, they can use ADA.

i don't have any of the CS products installed and the cleaner didn't have any work to do.
Sorry, I thought the Cleaner would do it.  Did another search and found these instructions to remove the download manager:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/400/kb400533.html
The browser is involved because it runs as a plugin of the browser.  Plugins are different for the browsers.  IE typically runs through ActiveX whereas other browsers run through a java enabled version.  By trying the download in another browser you can rule out where the problem lies.  Otherwise, I feel your only solution is to get in touch with Adobe support because this is a user-to-user community and there won't be much more help than KB articles.  Also with Adobe email support you can email them log files to look at.  It's along the process and will explain as you go.

  • File does not begin with '%pdf' error with adobe reader 10.1.5 onwards

In our web application we are using activePDF toolkit (3rd party component) to fill up carrier forms on the fly which are PDF files.
The output file processed by the above library works fine when opened with adobe reader 8, 9 and10 on end user’s browser (IE); however, it gives below error when opening with adobe reader 11.
Till now, we have tried different settings at IIS level, Internet explorer e.t.c. suggested on different internet posts. However, we are still facing the problem.
While analyzing this we have come across following link
    http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-error-1015-11001-update.html
According to this adobe 10.1.5 onward file should only start with "%pdf". If file start with other than this we get file corrupted message.
Before we can communicate this message to client we want to confirm this for experts. Please let me know my assumption is right?

Rahti - i'm having the same issue but I not familiar with the steps outlined in the Adobe link below
    http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-error-1015-11001-update.html
Would you be able to help with how I can navigate to this on my PC to correct it for me.

  • Insufficient Data for an Image error with Adobe CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF

We are using the standard function module CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF to
print a standard invoice to the spool and convert it to a PDF. This
PDF is displayed on the web by directing the output of this function module to Adobe Reader.
We are having a production problem where suddenly these PDFs will not
print, and are displaying the error message "Insufficent data for an
image" with Adobe Reader. While a partial PDF is displayed, some of
the data is missing.  It appears that the image that is being complained about is a company logo, and the pdf also does not display some additional characters.
We saw this data 2 years ago in production, but it suddenly went away
after a few days. Suddenly it is back.
The issue can be easily replicated in our Dev system and Prd system,
    but Tst is acting fine.
Has anyone ever seen this error?  Any advice on what may be occurring would be a huge help with this production problem.
    Todd Murphy
    The Hershey Company

Haven't seen that error before.  How are you converting the data after the function call if at all, i.e., are you moving to an XSTRING before handing it off to the web app?
The things I would suggest which may be stating the obvious are:
    - Download the PDF locally after conversion with GUI_DOWNLOAD and check for the error
    - Does the same issue occur with program RSTXPDFT4 or fm RSPO_RETURN_SPOOLJOB or a SAPOffice (direct) conversion?
    - Remove the logo and try and/or take the original logo, reconvert it to BMP and upload it again in SE78
    - What happens if you change the destination device in the call, if anything?
    - Does OSS note 1320163 apply?

  • Runtime error with Adobe Reader 9.x and IE

I'm getting a runtime error with any adobe reader 9.x and Internet Explorer whenever a .pdf is being viewed online.  It will pull the .pdf up and then pop up a runtime error window and close it down completely.  It is only happening with individuals that have redirected app data folders and profiles.  I have all machines running Windows XP sp3 and IE8.  I know, I know, I can always go to Firefox or Chrome, but IE is easily managed with group policy lockdowns.  I can unintall reader 9.x and then reinstall 8.x and it works perfectly.  The only problem with that is that I have to go do every machine and physically uninstall since I buildt the windows xp installer package with it.  Does anyone know a workaround or if adobe is going to get it fixed pretty soon?

I am experiencing exactly the same problems on one of two identical machines after something happened in the registry.
The first problem that appered was an error 1325 "Favorites is not a valid short name".
I did find the registry key involved (%userprofile%\Favorites) and fixed it.
So now the the next one: yours.
I think the solution can be found in the list of registry keys that Adobe Reader is accessing.
btw Eusing registry cleaner did not find this key to be in error.
Problem is that the Reader does not ask for an alternative location after stumbling on the key.
Who can gnerate a list of keys accessed?

  • Cannot activate CS5.5 - internet connection error with Adobe servers + customer service non-existent

Just purchased CS5.5 and it works fine however I am not able to activate it. The program says I don't have an internet connection but I clearly do I as I am able to connect to all websites & email etc...
I have tried to contact customer support 6 times:
Contact 1: on hold for 1 hour and 20 minutes after which I was disconnected
Contact 2: on hold for 35 minutes then told it was out of business hours
Contact 3: on hold for 45 minutes then someone picked up the phone and then hung up on me
Contact 4: on hold for 15 minutes then someone hung up on me
Contact 5: on hold for 5 minutes then someone spoke with me and told me to delete a "host" file in Windows32 folder on our system. This didn't fix the problem and then the support person simply hung up on me...
Contact 6: currently on hold for 55 minutes and still waiting...
What is happening at ADOBE? You used to be so reliable now I am not even able to get through to support? It is very worrying... I have no options available any more... what do I do?
PLEASE HELP PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I AM NOW PLEADING FOR SUPPORT!
    Richard

    Greetings everyone,
I started this thread. Since the thread was posted, my activation issue has dissappeared - HOW I do NOT know. As a last desparate attempt, I uninstalled Norton 360 completely and this might have helped, however I am not sure. Doing the "ping" of activate.adobe.com still doesn't work even with Norton 360 uninstalled and all firewalls switched off. It is very strange that I am not able to ping activate.adobe.com and get a 404 error on https://activate.adobe.com/test but my issue is resolved... strange this seems still to be unresolved.
In fact, I tested that URL and the Ping from over 8 different internet locations within Sydney (friends homes, offices, internet cafe etc) and NONE were successful. How does THAT make it a USER problem when NO ONE can access it???
An Adobe rep contacted me directly by email and supported me directly, which was fantastic, but didn't actually help as all the support he provided was exactly the same as what I had done with other support by phone at least 5 times with no success.
I organised a very skilled computer tech to assist me with my issue and he did everything he could to try and open ports and gain access for the activation but after 6 hours of trying his conclusion was "Adobe is having the issues, not the users".
This seems to be a big problem with Adobe at the moment and should not be.
    To Adobe:
I remind and highlight your responsibilities as a service/product provider, under the ACCC law:
    http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/961908
    As a customer:
"If a service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy—either fixing the problem with the services, a refund or compensation for any drop in value from the original price paid—depending on the circumstances."
Amongst other information within that page, I bring your attention to the fact that this issue your users are experiencing would be considered a "Major failure":
There is a major failure when (as the customer):
"you would not have engaged the service if you had known the nature and extent of the problem."
"the service does not meet the reasonable expectations for that type of service, and the problem cannot be rectified within a reasonable time."
and lastly, who is to fix the problem:
"The guarantees are made by the person or business that is providing the service. This means the service provider is responsible for fixing a problem when the service does not meet a consumer guarantee."
The runarounds Adobe is creating for customer, and hours of "on-hold" resulting in little or no customer service, is simply unacceptable and, in fact, a breach of your responsibilities and the law. Adobe... you seem to forget that our businesses or services rely heavily on your software to learn, teach, conduct business or whatever it may be. Our time is precious and the hours wasted to fix issues that shouldn't be there in the first place cost us a non-trivial amount.
Although my issues have been resolved, I am still nervous as it may happen again - I have received no indication of any rectifications of the issue and it appears it is still a major failure with other customers, meaning it could happen to me again at any time.
I would, and so would the rest of the people with these issues, like to know what your steps are, at a higher management level, to fix it and make sure it does not happen any more.
I highly recommend that you escalate these issues as a matter of priority and get your best people onto it urgently.
In the hope of a positive outcome,
    Richard

  • VBA Code error with Adobe Acrobat 10 Type Library

    Hi,
I have some code I created in Word VBA to combine several separate PDFs into a single PDF.  The code works fine with the Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Type Library and Adobe Reader 9.0 installed.
But, with the Adobe Acrobat 10 Type Library and Adobe Reader 10 installed, the code fails at the marked code below.  Any suggestions??
        Dim acrobatApp As Acrobat.acroApp
        Set acrobatApp = CreateObject("AcroExch.App")
        Dim mainPDF As Acrobat.AcroPDDoc
Set mainPDF = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc")  ****THIS IS WHERE THE CODE STOPS WITH A "TYPE MISMATCH" ERROR****
        Dim nextPage As Acrobat.AcroPDDoc
        Set nextPage = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc")
        Dim numPages As Integer
'Loop through all selected VLS, and add each one to the end of the main PDF
        For i = 0 To lstSelected.ListCount - 1
            mainPDF.Open CurDir & "\" & Replace(ThisDocument.Name, ".doc", "") & ".pdf"
            numPages = mainPDF.GetNumPages
            nextPage.Open lstSelected.List(i)
            If mainPDF.InsertPages(numPages - 1, nextPage, 0, nextPage.GetNumPages, True) = False Then
                MsgBox "Cannot insert pages"
            End If
            If mainPDF.Save(PDSaveFull, CurDir & "\" & Replace(ThisDocument.Name, ".doc", "") & ".pdf") = False Then
                MsgBox "Cannot save"
            End If
            'MsgBox lstSelected.List(i)
            nextPage.Close
        Next i

What if you start with a really simple VBA example? Take a look at this:
    Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
        Dim AcroApp As Acrobat.CAcroApp
        Dim theDocument As Acrobat.CAcroPDDoc
        Dim bm As Acrobat.AcroPDBookmark
        Dim thePath As String
        thePath = "c:\temp\test.pdf"
        Set AcroApp = CreateObject("AcroExch.App")
        Set theDocument = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc")
        theDocument.Open (thePath)
        MsgBox "Number of pages: " & theDocument.GetNumPages
        theDocument.Close
        AcroApp.Exit
        Set AcroApp = Nothing
        Set theDocument = Nothing
        Set bm = Nothing
        MsgBox "Done"
    End Sub
If this still does not work, I would reinstall Acrobat to make sure that
    the TLB is not corrupt.

  • Bad user experience/errors with Adobe Air widget installation

    I'm having a nervous breakdown at work (it's 10pm and I'm
still in the office), an Adobe Air widget application I've built is
somehow causing the client to panic (they can't install or run the
Adobe Air installation or the widget and now they feel all their
users are having the same problem). If anyone has a minute to try
this out and let me know if the widget installs correctly of if you
have any recommendations on a better user experience I'll greatly
appreciate it. The client is receiving an error message when
installing Adobe Air (error 0 or something).
widget is on the bottom left (installs for PC and Mac). If
the widget installs without any glitches please let me know. God
    bless.
    http://stayonhermind.com

The application installed just fine for me. I'm running
Windows XP SP2 and I already have AIR 1.1 runtime installed.
I do have a few suggestions for improvement though! Just take
or leave any or all of these! :)
    In your popup you say,
"Before installing the 9IX Rules Widget verify that
you’re running the latest version of Adobe Flash."
Is this really a necessary requirement? If you are
downloading the .air I think it would not matter whether or not you
    have Flash installed.
    Then you say,
"After installing Adobe Air (link below), return to this page
and re-install the 9IX Rules Widget. Install Adobe Air Now .
Otherwise click on the button below (the widget install button)."
I understand you are trying to make this easy for people but
    to me this seems confusing.
    <GENERAL AIR COMMENT>
If someone does not have AIR runtime already installed I
thought running a .air would trigger the download and install. If
not this gets pretty complicated. How do you test if they have AIR
or not? And since most will not at this early stage how dow we
educate end-users to even know if they have it or not?
    </GENERAL AIR COMMENT>
You should digitally sign your AIR app so it does not say
Publisher: UNKNOWN with the big red "?" icon!
I would recommend against using all caps in your messages.
I would recommend choosing a better font (maybe a pixel font)
since the message text is a bit blurry.

OK.  I am logged in….but that is where I was earlier.  I can’t seem to get a real person…you are the closest I have.  When I go to that link, I just keep getting thrown around and around with questions/problems everyone else is having (some the same as mine)….   My problem is that I can’t download the Application Manager.  It cuts out on me about 2/3 of the way thru.   I think this is the problem some others are having too…but I don’t seem to see any “fixes”.   And, no live person to talk thru getting this fixed.
I suppose I could call back on Monday (5 am – 7 pm)…  but I was hoping to work on my project tomorrow.   I don’t see anyone to call in their 24/7 support.

  • Runtime Error with Adobe

When I try loading a PDF document I get the following error:
    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRD32.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, nothing seems to work.
Can anyone give advice on what this could be?  I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate.
    Thanks in advance!

I have the same issue too. Slight difference is I'm running on Windows XP Pro but using Office 2010.
Any email with a PDF attachment can be opened - just comes up with a Runtime error as described by 'Ladyk362003'.
If you save the file somewhere on the systems hard disk and then double click it it opens fine.
This did work before, but not sure what could have changed.
I've uninstalled Reader and then downloaded the latest this morning from their website and still the problem is present.
    Anyone got any ideas.
    Thanks
