Error with channel buttons (minimize, maximize, edit, etc)

Hi,
I'm trying to move production to another box (iPS SP2), I installed from scrach iPS, I copied all channels and user data succesfully and I can login ok, but when I minimize, maximize, edit a channel the requests are redirected to hostname.domain.com instead of www.myportal.com . If I do a "view source" the help link has hardcoded the hostname.domain.com/helppage.html but in my channel I have helpppage.html, I have tried using /helpppage.html but didn't work.
Any ideas what could be wrong ?

Hi,
Hope you have taken back up of "ldif" database of production box.
If the "hostname.domain.com" of the new box is different from the producion box, you need to edit the "ldif" file and change the "oldhostname.domain.com" with "newhostname.domain.name" before importing to the new box.

Start up error with unlock button doing nothing

So, when i close my laptop for the night, the next mourning i start it up again, but this time it just comes up with a blank screen, with 3 buttons: unlock, timer, and exposer. Timer and exposer well, just made the 3 seonds apper and exposer do its thing too of course, so when i try clicking unlock, it blinks, but then does nothing. I try turning it off and on again, but still the screen. Please post a solutin to this problem. If it helps, here is the screen i talking about: (its in the attachments).
EDIT: also i forogot to mentstion this isnt the first time this happened... about 7 mounths ago it happened, and for four monuths it was just on that screen, then finally it randomly unlocked. I don't know what I did to unlock it, but anyway it was stuck for 4 mounths and i would hate to wait four monuths to record another video again... so please, still, post a solutin.

Error with Provider Hosted App on Edit Form of a list item

We have an error on the Edit Form of one of our pages.
We have developed a SharePoint Online Provider Hosted app which replaces the standard edit form of a list item and has some further events behind the save button. Since this is rather new territory for us, we're using a roundabout way of achieving this by
using a script editor web part to display an iFrame of our app. That way we can pass the Url through to our app and retrieve query strings from them.
Our issue comes quite intermittently in that we sometimes get a "web page cannot be found" error or sometimes a "resource cannot be found" error, however, when we load another app on the site (from the same app project, but using an app
part), then go back to the Edit Form, the information in the iFrame suddenly renders.
Any ideas on what might be causing this issue at all? Ideally, we should be rendering the app to the Edit Form is the proper manner, rather than scripting an iFrame that points to out app in Azure. Would this be the cause of the problem?

Hi thumper, if you have access to InfoPath, you can add the form to a page using the InfoPath web part. Otherwise, use SP Designer with instructions below:

CAN error with Channel API

Hello All,
Right now i am facing a CAN error when run my script which was developed using channel APIs. I am not able to trace out the the reason of the error. Pls find attached code and Error description. Hi Anoop,
Is the code you posted the exact code you are using when you get the error? The reason I ask is, usually this error is associated with using the Set Property VI after the interface has already been started, such as in a loop.
Are you able to use any examples from the Example Finder successfully? (Help > Find Examples) You can Browse to CAN examples by clicking Hardware Input and Output > CAN > Channel API.

JFrame: resize NO, buttons minimize / maximize YES, HOW???

hi fellows,
i want a JFrame which you can't resize, but when i set the option resizeable to false, the buttons at the top right disappear, except for the "X"
the minimize and maximize buttons are gone :-(
i want these back!!
or is there another way to prevent my frame from being resized?

For me only the maximize button disappears because a maximize of the frame is a resizing of it. The minimize and close buttons are visible and working.
I'm not sure of how to accomplish that a frame shall not be resizable but able to be maximized, or if it's even possible.

Reoccuring errors with volume file count, directory count, etc...

I'll give a little back story...
I purchased a new MacBook Pro 17" with OS X Lion (10.7.2) preinstalled back in January of this year (2012). I migrated my user accounts from my old MacBook Pro 15" (2008) running OS X Snow Leopard. Almost right away I started having issues of all sorts, including Admin accounts that wouldn't allow me admin priveledges, hidden user groups, apps that wouldn't run, multiple obscure error messages and a host of other issues. After scouring forums like this one I used Disk Utility and not only discovered innumerable permission errors but also disk errors like these:
Invalid volume file count
(It should be 1656658 instead of 1656636)
Invalid volume directory count
(It should be 345764 instead of 345743)
Invalid volume free block count
(It should be 69344839 instead of 69355225)
Volume header needs minor repair
Disk Repair would correct the ACH/permission errors and above-noted disk corruption, but only temporarily. After repairs I would reboot and be met with all of the same problems in the migrated accounts. Over the following days I reinstalled OS X Lion at least three or four times, completely wiping the 750 GB hard drive before two of those reinstalls (even doing one-pass reformatting on one of those instances). After reinstalling the OS, I would reinstall from TimeMachine and be met with all of the same problems again.
I then brought my machine in to the Genius Bar where, after more than two-and-a-half hours they declared it to be an unknown issue that must be related to defective hardware and replaced my entire machine. But wait - there's more!
After getting home and moving my old accounts back over from TimeMachine all the same issues began reoccuring. After at least two more OS reinstalls later I discovered that uninstalling Norton Internet Security seemed to fix some problems. However, running Disk Utility still returned results like those listed above...
Then there were the failed attempts at upgrading from 10.7.2 to 10.7.3 which hung at the end the first two times and required complete OS reinstalls from the Recovery HD. Several more headaches later I eventually I managed a sucessful upgrade.
But still I find myself with a machine that stalls on boot-up at least once or twice a week, necessitating a power-off to interupt the process. After each of these instances I run Disk Utility and get more of the same...

And now, this morning, after a month or two of all that... and after installing the Java Security Upgrade last night, I can't get into my accounts at all. On first boot-up it hung for 20 minutes before I shut it down. After running Disk Utility from Recovery Drive and repairing the drive I rebooted and got the log-in screen. I clicked on my user icon, typed the correct password, was shown they white/grey screen for a few flickering seconds then was brought back to the log-in screen. I rebooted to the Recovery Disk, ran Disk Utility, saw all the same errors again, repaired the disk, rebooted and got the same problems with logging in again.
I've repeated this cycle five times today, as both a normal boot-up and in "Safe Mode" all with the same results. I've repaired the disk using Disk Utility from Recovery Disk as well as accessing the disk in Target Mode, and always there are the same errors needing to be repaired.
I don't buy that I'm dealing with a hardware issue. My antivirus and security software are all up-to-date. What the heck is going on? Why do I keep having these disk problems? Why can't I access my accounts anymore? Why does it keep hanging during boot-up? Why am I about to throw the machine out my bedroom window?

You have a software issue carried over from the previous computer likely caused by Norton and perhaps some other issues related to recent malware.
Your going to need to copy your users data folders only to a external drive and disconnect everything,
command r boot into Recovery,
DU erase (with Zero) your Lion partition,
install Lion fresh from Apple,
setup with the same name (important),
Software update,
install all your programs from fresh sources,
and return files from the external drive manually into their respective folders
in that precise order.
and for good performance for a long time, try not to go over 50% of the drive filled, but certainly not more that 75%
Do not use migration or TimeMachine restores.
This is known as a Fresh Install, where everything is brand spanking new and only vetted files are returned.
It's a pain I know, the problem with too much automation, the crap seeps in and ruins everything.
I don't migrate nothing, I like my machines to work perfectly.

Aero Caption buttons [Minimize, Maximize and, Close] are about 1px slivers on Windows 7.

Clean install of Firefox 4 on a clean install of Windows 7 there are no buttons in top right corner. No persona installed so https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=574833 and https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=575406 do no apply. Opening the menu bar with ALT does not resolve problem.

Do you have the Tab Candy version?
I had the same problem so I decided to just use the normal beta version instead of the Tab Candy one and that fixed it.

License Expired Error with CS4 Design Standard Student Edition

Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign all say that my license is expired. However, all the other programs work, including but not limited to Adobe Air, Device Mangager, Mobile Manager, Bridge, Media Player, and Acrobat. Why is it only these three programs and none of the others? Trouble shot with changing the date on my computer and ran the license recovery application Adobe has posted. Neither of them work. Called support and waited an hour and half on hold without ever talking to someone. Obviously, as posted by Adobe themselves, their support center is having huge difficulties. However, I need these programs to be working now for a project I must submit. Can anyone help?

I didn't think you buy the student edition anywhere but from a school. You'll need to call Adobe to find out what your next step is.

If I open Firefox all that comes up is a translucent page with only the minimize, maximize and close icons in the top right corner. How do I restore Firefox?

There is no address bar, no error message, or anything at all but the three icons in the upper right corner. The entire page is just a giant translucent square with the three icons.

hello MilaRowantree, can you try launching firefox in safe mode by pressing the shift key while it is starting and see if the issue is occurring there too? maybe a theme or hardware acceleration is interfering here...
if safemode is working, you can try disabling hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > general and or disable addons that might cause the problem. it also would be interesting which graphics hardware (adapter description, driver date & driver version) you are using - you can access this information in firefox > help > troubleshooting information towards the bottom of that page... thank you

SiteStudio error with save button

im using UCM 11.1.1.6.0 and i download SiteStudio from My Download tab in UCM but
when i create any asset like element ,Region definition, Region Template in site studio i can't save it .... the save button didnt work .. can anyone help me

I need to remove "minimize, maximize, close" buttons on full screen mode

I can remove all buttons (like refresh, back, forward, address bar, etc..) but the little right 3 buttons "minimize, maximize, close" i cant remove, how can i make with userChrome.css or other option.
Because i can close firefox exiting from fullscreen and clicking on archive menu with "Alt" key.
I dont wanna this little 3 buttons, that i can hide and show permanent.

Running FF3.6.8 on Windows 7, 3 window buttons not in top right hand corner ( minimize, maximize and exit) . how do i get these to appear ?

when FF 3.6.8 loads it loads everything except the the classic window buttons (minimize, maximize and exit ) do not appear in the top right hand corner as the normally would. it seems as though the page has been cut off or the monitor screen is to little for the whole page to load.

It is possible that the screen is too wide or too high.
Open the system menu via Alt+Space and see if you can resize that window.
If that works then close Firefox to save that setting.

Error in saving .aspx pages after editing the XSLT

I am developing a SharePoint 2010 web app and I had to do some modifications for a .aspx page which has a data form web part and I am encountering following issues:
1. After selecting the web part, when trying to modify the filter criteria of the data source, the "group" and "ungroup" buttons are seen as disabled and the option of editing in the XSLT editor is also not visible.
2. after editing the XSLT, knowing that there are no issues if I try to save it an is showed saying null value issue and asking whether to allow scripts to run in this page r not. After choosing either yes or no, when I try to preview it in browser I get
an error in the place where I have the data form web part saying error with web part try to edit it in SharePoint editor such as SharePoint designer.
3. this is happening only i try to edit the code but no matter how many copies I get from the original page, they are correctly previewed in the browser unless I try to edit it.
your kind support or suggestions are highly appreciated as I am unable to fix this

Data you are changing is on the frontend. You need to pass data to backend (server). The static method 'dispatch' of control framework class (CL_GUI_CFW) is used to do this 'manual' synchronization. It is sort of helper method of control framework (which is basis for ALV controls) and is independent of ALV controls (cl_gui_alv_grid etc.) that are used.
Try putting this code as suggested and check.
