Error with CSS

Hey everyone,
I am just learning to use DreamWeaver and I have version 8.
Well I created an Image Viewer to put pics in. Well as you can see
at my site,

21st.html, the picuters will run but will restart in the middle on
different pictures. It acts like it tries to load teh next picture
but then it restarts the pictures.
Any ideas?

Report DW error with CSS position

To the Adobe staff
I use this forum cause I can't find where the F... to report an error!
There is an error in Dreamweaver CS4 french (canadian) version.
When you create a css style, the position tab, the fonction fixed has been translated and should not.
So right now, you read "fixe" instead of "fixed"

Error with rendering of CSS code

I may of found an unknown error with ADE. I did a gogole search and didn't see the same error.
I was having issues with ADE rendering my backround image in a table. It show up find in sigil but not ADE. And my other EPub I create did show up correctly I try everything I new (I'm just learnng CSS).
I had a thought, what if my file name was to long. But I dismiss that idea. As a last temp effort, I try renaming it to a shorting name and it work. However, it was not the lenth of file name, but that I had parentheses " () " in my file name. As soon as I took them out it render correctly. My backround image show up as it should.
Not sure if this is known, but I couldn't find the issue with a google search or searching these forums. I know that some programes rename dupicate files with parentheses.

Problem with CSS in page I have written [SOLVED]

There is a php page I have created at work which works fine with Firefox 3.6.
In one specific page Firefox 4 does not show correctly a table with CSS.
I tried to remove the css and just have the table with no styling but the problem persists.

After upgrade to 4.1 from 3.2, admin logon page error with "done error load

Hello all,
Just upgraded 3.2 to 4.1. ran @apexins.sql sysaux sysaux temp /i/. Installation was successful and upgrade completed with no errors. When trying to log on to admin page, url changes to admin workarea but with IE we get "done error loading pages" and logon screen doesn't appear. All objects are compiled, accounts are unlocked and valid. Same thing happens when attempting to logon to the applicaiton. Any help would be appreciated. Open SR with oracle support, but no reply since yesterday.

Hi user12128153 (a real name would be nice),
a few questions for you.
Do you experience the same errors with firefox? If so install firebug (if you don't have it already) and see if the errors have to do with missing css etc.
What application server do you use, OHS/Apex Listener etc?

Firefox on Windows is now following display scaling options which may render text larger on high resolution displays.
You can adjust your screen resolution.
To modify it do the following:
* Type '''about:config''' into the Firefox address bar and tap on the Enter key.
* If the warning '''This might void your warranty''' appears, click '''I'll be careful, I promise'''.
* Search for '''layout.css.devPixelsPerPx'''

* Double-click on layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to modify its value. The default is -1.0 in Firefox 22 and above. Change it to '''1.0''' to make it work like in previous Firefox versions.
If necessary, further adjust the value in 0.1 or 0.05 steps. Use values between 1.0 and about 0.5 to reduce elements in size. Use values greater than 1.0 to increase size. For example, a value of 1.25 will increase font size to 125% to accommodate the default DPI setting in Windows 8. '''Double check the value that you enter.''' Setting a too small value will make everything disappear and a too large value will blow things up.

we have installed HFM on Win2003 x64 EE server. Everything is working correctly, but we are not able to create a connection to HFM data source in Web Analysis.
Following error occurs:

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Error Publishing CSS

When I go to publish my site, it does everything fine, except
for my CSS, which it gives this message:

I called Yahoo, and they said the problem was not on their

You are doing nothing wrong. Try uploading the file by
itself. If that is not working, try another FTP client (windows:
SmartFTP
http://www.smartftp.com/ ).
Make an FTP connection as you did in DW. Right click on the folder
you are trying to upload to and view the file permissions. Make
sure that you have permission. If you do not usually the
permissions should be 755 on Linux hosting (which I believe is what
Yahoo is).
If this is not the issue post back.

Help with CSS (was: I AM CONFUSED)

the tutorial has begin using the phrase "style sheet" i take that means the code on the left when the screen is split?
figure 28 on the tutorial shows a "style sheet" with 18 lines.
but on my computer the "style sheet" has 29 lines which includes a head and body. but when i copy the code or "style sheet" and then print it here it comes out without a head and body like this -

Although you don't say which tutorial you're following (it would help others to help you), I recognize the code as being from my "Creating your first website" series in the Dreamweaver Developer Centre.
The CSS is in an external file. What you see on the left of the Document window shows the contents of the external file like this:
The CSS is displayed because check_cs6.css is selected in the Related Files toolbar. To see the HTML, you need to click Source Code.
The errors with the CSS you have pasted here are in following section:

Help with CSS Page Layout

I guess I am "old school" in that I have always used tables
to lay out my web pages. I decided I must learn to do it with CSS,
but I'm having a terrible time (and it shouldn't be so hard!). I
understand how to define the styles, add divs, etc. Here's what I'm
having trouble with:
How do I specify the normal page width to be 800 pixels,
however I want it to be relative to the browser (i.e., 100% of 800
pixels).
I understand the "float" tag, but if I have a right-hand
sidebar, I can't seem to get the text to the left (in a div called
"maincontent") to stop at the sidebar and wrap to the next line. I
tried specifying "Hidden" as my textbook suggests, but that has no
effect.
I can easily do all of this with tables, so do I really need
to abandon them?

Hi Jane,
I'll try to answer all your questions, then a tip or two to
stop the main
content from dropping when the browser window size is
reduced.

is not the same as margin: 0px auto;
That's right.
margin: 0px auto; is actaully saying make the top margin 0,
the right margin
auto, the bottom margin 0 and the left margin auto.
It's just CSS shorthand.
For example, you might have:
margin-top: 10px;
margin-right: 20px;
margin-bottom: 5px;
margin-left:15px;
You could just use margin: {10px 20px 5px 15px;}
Think of a clock to remember the directions.
12:00 top, 3:00 right, 6:00 bottom, 9:00 left.
If any of the values are the same, you can shorten it more.
For example, if top is 10, right is 20, bottom is 5 and left
is 20, it's
margin: {10px 20px 5px;}
If the 4th location (left) is missing a value, it makes it
the same as what
you have for right.
If top and bottom are 10px, and left and right are 20px,
it's:
margin {10px 20px;}
If the last two positions ( bottom and left vlaues ) are
missing, then it
will use the top value for the bottom, and the right value
for the left.
What auto right and left is doing is subtracting your content
width (the
container width) from the browser window width, and then
dividing the
remainder in 2 and applying each value to each side of the
container.

The only text that should be Time is the text in your main
content, where
you have that font defined. Everything else should be Arial
if you define
the body as such. I'll post a link at the end of this.

You don't need to give the h1 a class. You can actually just
style the h1
tag:

style these just like the h1 style above.

It's a lot easier than giving a class to every <p> tag

with the right and left sides by applying values to all of

Yes, you can give that div a background image. You just need
to make the div
the same size as the image so you see it all (or vice-versa).
Now, to make that maincontent not drop like it does you can
remove the width
in the CSS. Now it will expand over to the left edge of the
rightsidebar.
You can control how close it gets by giving the right sidebar
a bigger left
margin. The point is, with no width assigned, the maincontent
will shrink
down to the longest word in it before it drops.

Help with CSS modifications...

Hi!
Finally got this up online for temporary testing. Here are
the items I'd like to modify...not sure how to tweak the code/css.
1) for starters, the links on the left hand continously move
down when I hit return in order to add more content on the page.
I'd like for everything in the left hand panel to be completely
static, and so the links fit into that transparency block within
the background image. (they are in a table now, before I had them
outside of a table, but I had a difficulty controlling them) When
we correct these to move up, the contact phone #, etc, will move up
where they should be positioned as well.
2) if you click on one of the links, the remainder of the
links all receive the 'visited' state visual; it's reading as one
cohesive element. That should not be, as they are independent.
3) I'm trying to control the "join our mailing list" to move
up into the sign up box, and in turn, this will bring up my main
paragraph closer to the top of this cell.
As you will see, I'm attempting to control this with CSS as
much as I can.

They are moving because a) they are in a table that is nested
in a table
cell, b) the table cell in which that table is nested has no
vertical
alignment specified, c) with no vertical alignment specified,
you get the
default, which is MIDDLE, and d) as the outer table grows in
height, the
middle point of the cell in which the navigation table is
nested also
migrates lower.
The solution is to assign the CSS style vertical-align:top to
td.navlinks.

This is because they are all linking to the same target.
Visit one, and all
become visited.

Odd Error with decode function in Order By Clause

I am trying to compile a procedure and can't get around an error with a dynamic order by that doesn't make much sense to me. I can repoduce the error with a plain select statment in sql plus so I can rule out a declaration error. Here is an example with 2 numeric columns and a date column.
select task_id, display_date, remark_id from task_list
where task_id > 1000
order by decode('Task_ID', 'Task_ID',Task_ID, 'Display_Date', Display_Date, 'Remark_ID',Remark_ID)
returns the error:
select task_id, display_date, remark_id from task_list
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected NUMBER got DATE
I'm not sure why this error is occuring, because it doesn't even hit the Display_Date field in the Decode statment. If I take the Display_date out of the statement, it runs properly. If I change Display_Date to To_Char(Display_Date) it also runs fine, but the sorting is incorrect. Also I'm running 9.2, and do not want to use dynamic sql to build my query. Any Ideas out there as to the cause of this error?

I did find a workaround to this issue by breaking the decode statment into three separate statement, but I still think that the way it is written above should work, and may be a bug, or an error that I don't understand fully.
The Order by was rewritten like this:
order by decode(pSort, 'Task_ID',Task_ID), decode(pSort, 'Display_Date', Display_Date),
decode(pSort, 'Remark_ID',Remark_ID);

XML Publisher Error with reports published in XML publisher

I am geting the following error with a report published using XML Publisher
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

In order to generate a report using xml publisher. we need the following.
1. XML Data
2. Template file (RTF/PDF/..)
XML data will not be created by the template file.
We will be required to create XML data. One of the easiest way to create xml output is using the RDF. We can change the rdf output type in the concurrent program to XML.
Once the xml and the template is available, "XML Report Publisher" will be able to generate the output in the required format.

Graphic problems/errors with Mainstage 3 and MBP (15'' 2011)

Hi,
I bought Mainstage 3 for my MBP (15'' 2011).
When i click con "perform" i get graphic errors.
I have the same issue with the old Mainstage version since Mountain Lion.
Also a fresh installation didn't help.
I think i'm not the only one with this issue!
I don't know how to report a bug?
Perhaps someone can help me.
(and I'm probably not the only one (see feedback in Apple Store) If you also have this problem, please add a comment with your configuration (Hardware, Software))

So, here an example how it looks like when i click on "perform":

Same configuration,same problem. BUT I found a workaround.
Mainstage has this error with the AMD video card and/or a second monitor connected.
With a little app (http://gfx.io) it's possible to really force the MBPro to use the Intel Graphics card.
This will work only with the internal screen, not with a second screen connected.
And sometimes you need to restart, to really make the Intel video card free.
This works fine...In the meantime of a fix.
