Error with nvidia update

Hi, I have updated the nvidai driver to the last one and now i can´t even log in, the screen goes black and i can´t use the console please help me otherwise i will have to reinstall everything thank you

did you just logged out and tried to re login and the screen got black or did you reboot?
after the update i logged out, got a black screen, removed the nvidia module and loaded it again manually:
rmmod nvidia && modprobe nvidia
now you can start x again (if you don't want to reboot)
"chroot" supports imo every live distrobution. just boot the live cd, mount the root volume, chroot into it (chroot /mnt/point/ )

  • Error with Commitment Update

    Hi SD Gurus,
We are on platform ECC 6.0.
While going through the SD cycle we are facing certain issues.
While creating a quantity contract and trying to save it we get a pop up box "Error with Commitment Update".
    Status is being set.
The order cannot be delivered / billed.
If I'm not saving it and going back to the screen we get the following error.
System error: Funds management update (LFMOIF01,ORGVG)
    Message no. FI057
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Rajbans

The software component EA-PS was updated to latest patch SAPKGPPD06 which resolved the issue.

  • Constant ERRORS with CS6 Updates?!

What is the problem with recurring errors EVERYTIME I run the updater for the CS suite? I just ran it for the latest updates and as usual this is what I get...
Update failed. Updates could not be applied...
DPS Desktop Tools CS6 2.03 Update
There was an error installing this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U44M1I210
Adobe Illustrator CS6 Update (version 16.0.1)
There was an error installing this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U44M1I215
Why? Somebody at Adobe care to shed some light on this repetitive annoying issue

This is ridiculous... I just updated the Updater and STILL it will not install the updates properly! Still gives the U44M1I210 error. Is anybody at Adobe working to FIX this problem? I've never seen such an inept updater... It doesn't even proactively update itself but that doesn't even matter because it doesn't work AT ALL.

  • "GPU enhancements/display driver" error with NVidia GeForce 8600 GTS

I am currently evaluating a demo of Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended. I am using a NVidia GeForce 8600 GTS video card. When I open the application, I get this error:
Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disables GPU enhancements. Check the video card manufacturer's website for the latest software.
GPU enhancements can be enabled in the Performance panel of Preferences.
Here's the thing - the NVidia graphics driver I'm using is current! It's version 195.62. And here are the specifications of my video card (which is about a few years old).
I am using Windows XP Home 32-bit SP3 with 2GB of DDR2 memory. Processor is AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+.
I've read over the functionality that this error message affects, and I'm not sure I understand it. If my video card is using its most current driver, what the heck am I to do? How badly will this handicap my Adobe Photoshop experience? (For reference, I plan on not doing that much using the 3D capabilities of Photoshop - but it may be interesting one day.)
Also, one bug I'm experiencing is that the Layers window is present, but its contents don't appear unless I click on it.
I'm not sure if I'm open to buying a new video card just to satisfy my Photoshop needs. Any help is much appreciated in overcoming this error and enabling FULLY-operational functionality of Photoshop CS4. Thanks!

Here is a link that may help with old GPU's. Also ensure before you update the drivers that opengl is turned off otherwise PS will use the old drivers.

  • [SOLVED] Error with Nvidia Drivers (following the Beginner's Guide)

I followed the beginner's installation guide and everything worked fine all the way up untill updating the kernel module dependencies using the "depmod -a" command..
First I created the "xorg.conf" file with the "nvidia-xconfig" command and it said:
Make sure all instances of DRI are commented out:
    #    Load        "dri"
However, there are no instances of "dri" in my xorg.conf file, so i skipped this step and moved on.
    Next it said:
Double check your /etc/X11/xorg.conf to make sure your default depth, horizontal sync, vertical refresh, and resolutions are acceptable.
But I don't know what they should be set to, so I skipped this and moved on again.
    This is where everything fails:
The next step is to use the following command to update the kernel module dependencies for the nVidia drivers.
    depmod -a
But when i do that, it fails.
Anyone know possibly why or has had this issue?

PirateJonno wrote:um, I don't think you can just 'do' a kernel update, you have to wait for a new one to come out first
You can run any kernel version you wish on Arch, if you compile yourself, of course.
trustktr wrote:Hmmmm, yeah, that is a good question: When to run depmod -a?
When you first install the proprietary drivers. That's it, unless you will be maintaining a custom kernel system or something. In fact, the proprietary drivers might even run the depmod script themselves, I don't know, since it is a black box binary. Makes sense, but someone else would need to answer that.
EDIT: Also wanted to add that many shell commands throw no output whatsoever upon successful completion. Therefore, the absence of error output can be interpreted as no error. Just FYI.

  • Reader error with every update 0:104

    Hi all,
Interesting issue that I have spent quite some time attempting to resolve and have yet to determine a root cause.  I will give as much information as possible so this post may be quite long.  If I have missed any information, I can definitely provide it.
    Problem:
When any update is pushed to Reader, we receive an influx of calls with the error: "There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. If it is running, please exit and try again. (0:104)".  This error occurs any time a user attempts to launch a PDF.  If Reader is launched through the Start Menu or the install directory, it opens an MSI installer progress window.
Currently, we have found 4 ways of possibly fixing this, which works is random, but it is very time consuming having to manually work on over 1500 computers.  The possible resolutions are: 1: The user can launch Reader/Acrobat from their start menu and the install will complete, 2: An admin logs onto the system and opens Reader/Acrobat from the start menu, 3: We run a repair install of the software, 4: We completely uninstall and reinstall with updates.
    Environment:
Corporate with approx 2000 machines - end users are not local admins.
    OS Version Windows 7 Enterprise x64 SP1
    IE versions 9 through 11
Scattered installations of Chrome and Firefox
    Most machines running Reader 11.0.x
    Some machines running Acrobat Standard/Pro
    Reader setup:
When a new computer is added in our environment, Reader is automatically installed via Microsoft Deployment Toolkit.  I have created a custom MST for the install, using the Customization Wizard, and have tested it on multiple machines and VMs.  I also added the MSP files for updates as they come available to keep the installed version current with the releases.  The same install package is also setup in Microsoft SCCM as an Application (we do not use SCCM to manage WSUS nor SCUP) to push to machines already in the field.
MST Settings selected (Default unless noted):
Installation Options - Installer will decide, Remove all Reader, Enable, Enable, Silent, Suppress
    Registry - Add: DWORD HKLM\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\11.0\AdobeViewer\EULAAcceptedForBrowser  1, DWORD HKLM\Software\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\11.0\FeatureLockDown\bProtectedMode 0
    Shortcuts - Remove Desktop

Your english is fine, much better than my french!
My recommendation would be to take the machine into an AASP so they can help you install the EFI update. They receive DVDs for just the type of problem you are having, this whole process should take less than 10 minutes. To locate an AASP in your areas follow this link:

  • Error with itunes updating my ipod

Ok ive never had this issue before, but im trying to update my ipod and its gone horribly wrong.
The other day i charged my ipod on a friends computer and it synced up with it which was rather annoying. So ive tried to sync it back with mine and all was going well until it came up with the following error message.
'Attempting to copy to the disk 'xxx' failed. An unknown error occured (-69).'
Does that message bear any significance? What can i do to fix the problem?
    please help if you can!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Errors With App Updates: Heres's what the "Apple Guy" said

Ever since the app store opened and updates to applications became available I have never been able to get an update without jumping through hoops. Those hoops would be deleting the application from iTunes and the iPhone as well as deleting any files from the application from my computer. Then after all this I have to re-download the application from iTunes.
I realize these apps don't have to be paid for again, but I find it very frustrating to have to go through this process just to get an update. My biggest issue is that I lose any and all data stored in that application because I had to delete it.
After searching these forums and seeing multiple people with the same problem, and no solution, I figured I'd go to the source and just call Apple support for iPhone and here's what they said in a nutshell.
Apple is totally aware that you can't get any updates without deleting the application. The guy was actually surprised when I told him that I have several updates per week. He said her personally only has 2 or 3 apps on his phone and he's never seen an update and thought maybe there was something wrong with my phone that I have so many updates. I told him I have about 30 apps and several of them have had several updates. This isn't a phone issue, it's an issue with iTunes being unable to load the new application without errors.
The gist of it is that there is NO way to fix this at this time. Apple fully expects us to delete the entire application every time there's an update and they don't really care that we're losing all our data. I don't think Apple had any idea that there would be as many updates as there are and so were completely unprepared. He actually told me that they are just now "getting back on our feet" after the big crash on the 11th when the 3G came out and they're doing the best they can. I'm sure this is true, but updates to applications were expected so why was this not forseen?
Disappointing!! Has anyone had any luck with updating applications without deleting everything first??? If so, how did you do it. I have tried since the middle of July with total failure. The Apple support guy was NO help so I'm turning to you guys!

Aha - interesting. Up until a few days ago, I was 'happily' updating apps virtually every day (bar the unhappiness caused by how long it took and the fact it moved the app to a different page from where I'd carefully moved it previously). I had a crash during an app update at the end of last week, after which I had to do a recovery restore. Since then... I'm seeing no updates available on the phone, even when I know they're in the store.
As of today I'd worked that could be because the App Store on the phone doesn't seem to know I've got most of my software installed, even though I clearly have (it marks only a few apps as 'Installed' on their page, whereas I've probably got 20-30). And now, checking iTunes, it's found updates for some apps, but not others. Who knows whether they'll be updated at the next sync...
Bottom line seems to be that as of 2.0.2, there are some serious issues with this aspect of the iPhone experience... along with endless backups (which to me seemed associated partly with the most recent iTunes update)... I really hope that the next update straightens things out!

  • Getting ORA-22920 Error With 'FOR UPDATE' clause

    Hello all,
I scanned through all the messages regarding this error and the suggestion posted was to have 'FOR UPDATE' in the SELECT query. I do have that, but I am still getting ORA-22920 (row containing the LOB value is not locked) error.
I am using JDBC thin driver with 8.0.5. I know the thin driver installation works because I can read data that I inserted using 'INSERT INTO ...' from svrmgr30.
Can anyone show me some light on this?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    This helped me:
    Before the insert statement:
    connection.setAutoCommit(false);
    ..what you like to do
    at the end..
    connection.commit()

  • HT5568 Error with Software Update on Mountain Lion App Store

A software update, of Safari 6.0.2 & iPhoto Update 9.4.2, failed with the error:
    An error has occurred
    This operation couldn't be completed
    (NSURLErrorDomain error -3001.)(102)
Is this my problem or their problem?

Hello - yes, the Software Update function is incorporated to the App Store as Updates. It is somewhere written on the Apple page, forgot where. I also do not want to know :-) As long required and recommended Upgrades will be offered in or another way, i am fine.
I also just installed ML, almost during a coffee break and meeting, and continuosly worked, I am so far fine. One application, MindMap, required Java SE 6. Within 2 minutes it was installed. Need two attempts, maybe caused by overload of system now.
The Indexing took some time, but it was within an hour finished.
So far, I am okay with ML - nothing to complain. Some features will be enabled with iOS6 for the iPad and the integration of different functions into the cloud.

  • A Strange error with software update in Mac App Store

I started seeing this error this morning prior to this morning the software update was working normally.
    An error has occurred
    The operation couldn’t be completed.
    (NSURLErrorDomain error -1100.)
Any help with what it means and a fix would be much appreciated

Thankfully I am not alone with this error message.
I get no updates available and downloaded itunes 10.7 manully as it didn't show up after the message appeared.
Hopefully it will get resolved soon

  • Port 3689 error with latest update

Since updating today (2/25/10) to the newest AppleTV software, it no longer syncs with iTunes 9.0.3 (MacPro). I've restarted everything. In all cases iTunes says that the Apple TV is not responding (it does show up in the devices list). It says to "Check that any firewall software...port 3689." There is NO firewall software. The "More info..." link (Apple's support article - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1447?viewlocale=en_US) says "Apple TV, iTunes 8 for Mac" and does not address iTunes 9. Everything has worked fine until this update.
I've even tried to cancel the link to my iTunes library and start over, but that gave the same error.
I've browsed the topics here (and elsewhere) and most have to do with firewall configuration. I've rechecked (System Preferences-Security-Firewall) and it is not enabled. It is also not enabled on the LinkSys router. That shouldn't matter because the only thing that changed from yesterday is the new software update to Apple TV.
    I give up. Any ideas?

I've managed to get mine sorted. A friend of mine told me :
"it is all about the security/encryption you have on your wireless modem/router - WEP / WPA / WPA2.
There is a lot on the support forums about this with Atv and iPhone not connecting when mac working fine on network.
Probably worth having a look in to and maybe resetting all of it so that you have a security/encryption that all devices will work on. Ideally WPA2 as this is supposed to be the most secure with WEP being the least."
I reset mine, then restarted both imac and ATV (also did a factory restore on it) Had to go into Computers and reconnect with my itunes library with the 5 digital passcode, but its all working.
Funny that its now telling me there's a software update (not sure what version I'm on) but for now, I'm not going to upgrade

  • HELP!!! Strange Error with Batch Update

While trying to do a batch update with the following preparedstatment:
    INSERT INTO TAB1
    (DATETIME,CALC_ID,SITE_ID,APPL_ID,VAL)
    values (
    {ts '2003-06-24 08:49:14'},
    (SELECT CALC_ID FROM TAB2 WHERE CALC_NAME=?),
    2,
    7,
Notice the parameter in the subquery. This works fine for a single executeUpdate. But if i do two preparedstatement.addbatch calls and then executeBatch I see a unique constraint violation on (DATETIME,CALC_ID, and SITE_ID) CALC_ID is the only key that varies in my batch. It is as if the subquery is not being resolved and written literally to the field. If I try the 1st update by itself in add batch it works. If I try the second it works by itself. If I try them together in the batch it fails. The unique constraint is not violated when I execute them singly.
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

I've found that db2, PreparedStatements and batch updating do not work very well together. I've had to use dynmanic sql and build the update statement myself. Actually I wrote a query parser that builds the statement so I can pass it like a PreparedStatement.
I'm not sure if your in db2 ver 7 but if so make sure your using fixpack 9. at lot of bad prepared statement behavior.
