Error with Reports 6.0 (6.0.5.35.0) runtime on NT 4.0 (SP 4 and +)

I am unable to run more than 3 or 4 times a report call by a
form. I have the Dr Watson after. If I close the reports
background engine every thing is ok. But it is not user friendly
to close the reports background engine each time.
Please for your help.

looks like there is some problem in portal instalation.
from the following snippet it is evident there is some problem in referencing com.sapportals.runtime.config component. Just check with the portal admin if it is correctly installed.

In order to generate a report using xml publisher. we need the following.
1. XML Data
2. Template file (RTF/PDF/..)
XML data will not be created by the template file.
We will be required to create XML data. One of the easiest way to create xml output is using the RDF. We can change the rdf output type in the concurrent program to XML.
Once the xml and the template is available, "XML Report Publisher" will be able to generate the output in the required format.

Error with report - pkg and bind var

Hi to all,
i'm writing some report and i found a strange isssue.
I would like to retrieve some data using packages.
So, something like select dbms_xxxx(var1, var2, var3) from dual;
I would like to pass through bind vars the value per each variable.
I used :var1 and also &var1 to be secure..
if i use select dbms_xxxx(':var1', ':var2', ':var3') from dual;
it gives me error about the apex, so i changed it in
select dbms_xxxx(par1 => :var1.....
Now it gives a problem with the parenthesis. But they are right!
Any ideas? A possible limit of developer?
By the way.. latest sqldev version.

I am getting the following error when I try and run a report in APEX 3.1.
report error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table key valueThis particular report has been working for about 12 weeks prior to yesterday when it just stopped.

Can you characterize the frequency of the failure or cite any observations about conditions prevalent when the failure occurs?
How can I put the page on apex.oracle.com?
Request a workspace on apex.oracle.com if you do not have one. When the request is approved, import/install your application there. Then tell me the workspace name and application/page ID.
Run the page in debug mode when the error occurs and show the output here.
You should also open an SR with Oracle Support.
Trace the session by adding &p_trace=YES to the URL (also when there is an error) and locate the database trace file and send it to Support.
What is your database version and edition?

Login error with report viewer when opening Crystal report with subreport

I have a problem with a login error (database vendor code 18456) when I try to open a crystal report to view it.
The report uses data from an external payroll database but I'm running it via our Accounts system (it's a convenient front end for users to run the report from). This works fine for another report that doesn't have any subreports. However when I run the Crystal report that has subreports, the report generation process works but when the crystal reports viewer tries to open the report I get the login error. It doesn't seem to be passing the login details for the payroll database down to the subreport.
I'm using Crystal Reports version 11.0.0.1282. The Accounts system is Technology One. Tech One have provided a report template that has several formulas designed to allow Tech One to play nicely with Crystal. One of these formulas allows me to enter the nickname of the external database that the report needs to use. The external database's connection details are fully specified in the Tech One configuration section (server console). So in this case the report says use database U1 & the server console identifies U1 as being the payroll database, specifies the connection path & has the username & password required to logon to the payroll database/server.
The report is running ok & retrieving data, but for some reason the viewer is erroring. If anyone has any ideas for how I can get the login details used to run the main report to flow through to the subreport it would be much appreciated.

I understand your frustration. We can do a few things. But really, it should be Technology One contacting us. To use an analogy (which you are free to share with Technology One). They built a car and sealed the hood. You bought the car, but he engine does not quite run as it should. You bring the car to the mechanic and all he can do is look at the car as he can not even open the hood.
In any case, here is what I would do if I could open the hood (e.g.; if I was dealing with Technology One):
1) Look up database vendor code 18456. This is simply the error our print engine is receiving from the database client and it simply passes it through relatively unhandled. This you should be able to do your self or ask Technology One to tell you what that means.
2) Break out the subreport and see if it runs on it's own in the application (if this is a permissions issue - which I doubt - it should come up here too). Unfortunately, this is for Technology One to do...
3) Run the report (with the subreport) in the CR designer. Does it work there? If this is a win app and it works, we again eliminated permission issues. And we also confirmed that the report is good. Again, Technology One should do this for you.
BTW.; CR 11.0 is out of support - not sure if you or Technology One are aware of this...
4) Can the developer duplicate the issue on his development computer?
Now, there are couple of instances where you say something like; "the report works and gets data, but the viewer errors out":

How do you know the report is retrieving data? From the error I would say the report never connects, thus the error / request for a logon...
So, the short of all of this is; get Technology One to contact us. They can do it over the forums or obtain a phone case here;

Now, here is a warning. As CR 11.0 is out of support Technology One will have to upgrade to CR 11.5, before that can create a phone case, which for them and you brings up another bunch of issues...
If you do not get any joy from the support person at you are talking to at Technology One, get him to escalate the issue. They are the ones that should be talking to us...

I an getting an error with photo merge in PS cc . It gives me a code tmp00000001 using from photoshop and if I try from bridge it tell me that I need to select more than one image. It is not recognizing the photos I am selecting in bridge. please help. my

SQR issue - (SQR 5721) Error with ioctl()

If anyone can help on this I would be very grateful. Here is the issue: When running SQR's on the command line I am receiving the followingerror after I type 'sysadm'. Normally it should allow me to typethe password (without displaying it). I can run the sqr on our Unixbox if I include the username/password in the command line. According tothe SQR documentation this error (5721) it says "This is anerror that should never occur during normal operations. Record thesteps leading up to the error and contact your systemadministrator" -- sqr first.sqr Enter Username: sysadm Enter Password: (SQR 5721) Error with 'ioctl()'. (12): Not enough space -- After I type "sysadm" and hit Enter I receive : Enter Password: (SQR 5721) Error with 'ioctl()'. (12): Not enough space -- We believe the problem is related to the Unix box in that the sqris trying to write the Username to a temporary location either inMemory or a Physical Location on the Box.

Error with gregoriancalendar

I'm having an error with the gregoriancalendar class.
I have a class that gets an initial date froma database, and iterate until today.
The problem is that its showing that today is day 262 and we are in day 232 of the year.
Whats the problem????

The GregorianCalendar javadoc defines the month 0 based (0 - 11)
so you must be careful when creating a Gregorian calendar by substracting 1 to your month number (if 1 - 12), and if passing it back to an int of the type 1 - 12, to add a respective 1e on the
get(GregorianCalendar.MONTH)method
I recommend what i did to evade dealing with this, I'm used to save dates in the yyyymmdd format, and month being from 1-12, so I created two methods
a) int2GregorianCalendar(int date), which takes that int type and returns the correct GregorianCalendar, with what was defined above.
b) GregorianCalendar2int(GregorianCalendar date) which is the opposite.

Please share experience with Report Designer in BI7

I am looking for people to share their hands on experience with Report Designer in BI 7.0.
I have seen the video, blogs, sap documentation, and the marketing materials. I have also test driven it myself. I have found not found it very useful for complex formatting. While I know there will be lots of opinions, I am looking for real life, hands on experiences you have had with the tool and if some of the complex things you have been able to do with it.
Here are some of challenges we are faced with:
1. Need ability to combine data from multiple queries into a single report. For example, one query has statistics and the other has amounts. We need to be able to create averages combining the data from both queries into a SINGLE result area.
2. We have need to be able to create a report where GL Accounts with activity over threshold amount are shown with a line for each account. Any accounts with amounts less than threshold, should be grouped on a line called 'other'. Again, this needs to be combined into a single result area.
When I say, single result area, I mean to be able to calculate amounts using data from both queries into a single result area. Displaying each query separately side by side is not an issue.

Have been playing around with Report Designer and I found it useful for basic formatting but not for the one's you had mentioned in your post.
SAPs suggests you do all the data manipulation in the Query Designer or Infocube and use Report Designer for just formatting the data. In the past we had issues where we could not certain calculation in query designer and have used Crystal Reports along with BI data for similar kind of things which you had mentioned in your post (using sub reports and report level data manipulation). Report Designer unfortunately does not provide any of these functionalities.
I have seen comments from SAP saying Report Designer will be developed further, not sure of any specific functionality whichis coming in. I think it is SAPs first step in the formatted reporting area and may be in the future we will have a tool which can handle much more complex scenarios!

Error from reports from ZAM(Graph or PDF) - File does not begin with '%PDF-'.

I just noticed today that any Graph or PDF report I try to view I get the
following error - Error from reports from ZAM - File does not begin with
'%PDF-'. I tried to just save the file and then open it, but get the same
error. I can open other pdf files I have downloaded from other sites ok.
Anyone have any idea? I haven't done anything to that server that I am
aware of in quite a while.

In the process monitor detail > view log/trace page, the xml file is accessible so the file was generated to a valid directory.
The weird thing is I was able to run this report without any issues few weeks ago although another user also ran into same error. The PeopleCode step that has been identified is essentially same in the two reports. I checked the app server and the directory does exist as well as the xml files for the two reports. The problem does not occur in test environment, just in production. Any help would be appreciated.

No data found error on Form on a Table with report

Hi Everyone, I'm using Application Express 4.1.0.00.32 on Windows 7. I built a Form on a table with report. Earlier I was using rowid as a passing parameter but then I had to change it to primary key column from report to form.
So in the "Fetch row process" I changed the "Items containing primary key value" and "Primary Key column" to P1004_PERSON_ID and PERSON_ID respectively. Which is my primary key.
My Form is working exactly fine but at on point it throws "no data found error".
I have a required date field in the form. So if the user doesn't fill in the date field and try to save the form, it throws the "Feild required error" and then when user enters date and try to save then it throws the error "No data found.". here is the snapshot... snapshot
How can I fix this error.I'm really stuck.
I checked debubber..it is as follows... in debughger it's still showing rowid. I don't know why. How can I fix that.

Error in report painter with change versión

Hy everybody
I have a problem with report painter. we are an upgrade from 4.7 to 6.0. The reports created in the previous version work correctly and show all data in columns, but in version 6.0, that is not equal to run the same reports they do not show all data. The reports are created using a library that feeds on the table CCSS, I tried creating a library and a report from scratch but still the error continues. Please if you can help me.
