Error with When Clause SQL Loader
I´'m trying to use WHEN clause in a control file, I'm following the documentation but it doesn't work still.
This is my control file:
LOAD DATA
CHARACTERSET UTF8
INTO TABLE DM08_CONDICIONADA
WHEN (STATUS_DESC='A')
APPEND
REENABLE DISABLED_CONSTRAINTS
FIELDS
TERMINATED BY '|'
"ID_COND" POSITION (1) INTEGER EXTERNAL ,
"DESC_COND" CHAR,
"STATUS_DESC" CHAR
I have the follow error:
SQL*Loader-350: Syntax error at line 26.
Expecting "(", found keyword append.
APPEND
^
I have tried with
WHEN STATUS_DESC='A'
but the error is the same. Do you have any ideas why is that?? I'm working with oracle 9i.
Greetings
Oscar
with:
LOAD DATA
CHARACTERSET UTF8
INTO TABLE DM08_CONDICIONADA
APPEND
WHEN STATUS_DESC='A' --->with (STATUS_DESC='A') neither
REENABLE DISABLED_CONSTRAINTS
FIELDSTERMINATED BY '|'
I have:
SQL*Loader-350: Syntax error at line 27.
Expecting "(", found keyword reenable.
REENABLE DISABLED_CONSTRAINTS
With:
LOAD DATA
CHARACTERSET UTF8
INTO TABLE DM08_CONDICIONADA
APPEND
REENABLE DISABLED_CONSTRAINTS
WHEN (STATUS_DESC ='A')
i have:
SQL*Loader-403: Referenced column STATUS_DESC not present in table DM08_CONDICIONADA.
I´m using the documentation...
-->full_fieldname or pos_spec-->operator--> char_string or Blanks --->
but it doesn't tell me where the when clause goes... i'm probing too with the forum information but i don't know what happens.
Thanks Jens

Error 3014 when trying to load ios6. I have cleared 2.5GB on the phone (4s) as it seems you need that ridiculous amount of space. Every time it just gives me 3014 error code within a minute of trying to download? Any help?
All,
I thought it may be related to spaces in the path in which the script was called from. I tried having the ODBC command script in another directory but the same thing happens. It will give me the "CONFIGSYSDSN: Unable to create a data source for the 'Oracle in OraClient10g_home1' driver: Could not load the setup or translator library with error code -2147467259". As soon as the script is done running I can manually double click the script and it adds the DSN fine.
Thanks,

Sql@loader-704 and ORA-12154: error messages when trying to load data with SQL Loader
I have a data base with two tables that is used by Apex 4.2. One table has 800,000 records . The other has 7 million records
The client recently upgraded from Apex 3.2 to Apex 4.2 . We exported/imported the data to the new location with no problems
The source of the data is an old mainframe system; I needed to make changes to the source data and then load the tables.
The first time I loaded the data i did it from a command line with SQL loader
Now when I try to load the data I get this message:
sql@loader-704 Internal error: ulconnect OCISERVERATTACH
ORA-12154: tns:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
I've searched for postings on these error message and they all seem to say that SQL Ldr can't find my TNSNAMES file.
I am able to connect and load data with SQL Developer; so SQL developer is able to find the TNSNAMES file
However SQL Developer will not let me load a file this big
I have also tried to load the file within Apex (SQL Workshop/ Utilities) but again, the file is too big.
So it seems like SQL Loader is the only option
I did find one post online that said to set an environment variable with the path to the TNSNAMES file, but that didn't work..
Not sure what else to try or where to look
thanksHi,
You must have more than one tnsnames file or multiple installations of oracle. What i suggest you do (as I'm sure will be mentioned in ed's link that you were already pointed at) is the following (* i assume you are on windows?)
open a command prompt
set TNS_ADMIN=PATH_TO_DIRECTOT_THAT_CONTAINS_CORRECT_TNSNAMES_FILE (i.e. something like set TNS_ADMIN=c:\oracle\network\admin)
This will tell oracle use the config files you find here and no others
then try sqlldr user/pass@db (in the same dos window)
see if that connects and let us know.
Cheers,
Harry

Errors when using sql loader direct path with a nvl functin on a date field
I thought I read in 10g that all sql functions now work in direct path mode.
the following function works without direct path mode. When we turn direct path mode on the load fails. When we take the function out in direct path mode it works.
mydate DATE "YYYY-MM-DD" "nvl(:mydatedate,to_date('9999-01-01','YYYY-MM-DD'))"
with direct path mode I get:
EVERY record gets rejected with this error.
Record 10: Rejected - Error on table MYTABLE
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-01861: literal does not match format string
again works fine without direct=true, works fine with direct=true if i get rid of the function.
any ideas?

Guess2like usual your posts are completely useless daniel.
I could have swarn that oracle advertised that you can use functions with 9i or 10g release in the new features guys or the first releases. -
"ORA-00054 Resource Busy Error" when running SQL*Loader in Parallel
Hi all,
Please help me on an issue. We are using Datastage which uses sql*loader to load data into an Oracle Table. SQL*Loader invokes 8 parallel sessions for insert on the table. When doing so, we are facing the following error intermittently:
SQL*Loader-951: Error calling once/load initialization
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specifiedSince the control file is generated automatically by datastage, we cannot modify/change the options and test. Control File for the same is:

)- it occurs intermittently. When this job runs, no one will be accessing the database or the tables.
- When we do not run in parallel, then we are not facing the error but it is very slow (obviously).Just in case, I am also attaching the Datastage Logs:

Error while using expressions with direct path sql loader
We are using an expression (substr) in the control file while loading the data into a table T using sql loader using a user U.
The user U does not have permissions to the table T directly but through a role R.
While running the sql loader using direct=true option (because the data load is very huge), an error 'table or view does not exist' is thrown.
This error does not occur when conventional path is used; or when the user is given permissions on the table directly. We dont want to use both these options. Is there any other solution to this problem?

Use of WHEN in SQL Loader Control File
Does anyone know of a way, using the CTL file below, to NOT LOAD (i.e. discard) any record where field G is null -OR- substr(G,1,3)='CON'+ (the first 3 characters of field G are "CON")?
The WHEN clause seems very limited in what it can test and all my attempts to use a compound condition, much less the SUBSTR function, have failed. The documentation indicates that only very simple conditions can be specified.
(Oracle 10g, Unix)
Thanks

)Hello MTM.
The WHEN clause in SQL*Loader, despite what you might read, doesn't seem to evaluate the value of the column you specify after SQL clauses are processed. Therefore, the only way you can guarantee to NOT LOAD a record is by using a function to raise an application error when the column data meets your criteria. You'll need to do some basic comparisons between bad data and discarded data in the bad data file to isolate these.
You can still discard the null data using (replace ne with greater and less than)WHEN (g ne '')Hope this helps,
Luke

thanksHi Werner,
on my linux desktop:
$ file test.dat
test.dat: UTF-8 Unicode text, with very long lines
my colleague is working on a windows system.
On both systems exact the same error from SQL Loader.
Btw, try with different number of special characters (german umlaute and euro) and there is no chance to load without the error
when to many (?) special characters or data is long as column length and special characters included.

Hi,
Please could someone give me the syntax for expressing a where clause in SQL Loader control file? as an example i only want the data in the columns to be uploaded where person_id matches the person_id already present in the table.
My control file is below which needs amending to include a 'Where'. The append will also need changing i assume.
load data
infile '/app/DEV/appl/xxcpp/11.5.0/bin/TEST.csv'
APPEND
into table XXCPP_SQL_LOADER_TEST
fields terminated by "," optionally enclosed by '"'
( PERSON_ID, EMP_NAME, EMP_NUMBER, START_DATE DATE "fmDD/MM/RRRR" )
Many ThanksSQL*Loader has very limited conditional load capabilities. WHEN clause does not support OR (and it is documented). Anyway, you could do the following. Control file:
load data
infile *
APPEND
into table XXCPP_SQL_LOADER_TEST
When Person_id = '1'
fields terminated by "," optionally enclosed by '"'
( PERSON_ID POSITION(1), EMP_NAME, EMP_NUMBER, START_DATE DATE "fmDD/MM/RRRR" )
into table XXCPP_SQL_LOADER_TEST
When Person_id = '2'
fields terminated by "," optionally enclosed by '"'
( PERSON_ID POSITION(1), EMP_NAME, EMP_NUMBER, START_DATE DATE "fmDD/MM/RRRR" )
into table XXCPP_SQL_LOADER_TEST
When Person_id = '3'
fields terminated by "," optionally enclosed by '"'
( PERSON_ID POSITION(1), EMP_NAME, EMP_NUMBER, START_DATE DATE "fmDD/MM/RRRR" )
begindata
1,A,11,13/01/2011
2,B,12,13/01/2011
3,C,13,13/01/2011
4,D,14,13/01/2011
5,D,15,13/01/2011
{code}
Now:
{code}
SQL> select * from XXCPP_SQL_LOADER_TEST;

Loading data with dates using SQL*Loader
Dear everyone
I am currently trying to load some data containing dates using SQL*Loader.
For termination of fields I have been using ^ because I have some book titles which contain " and ' as part of their title. I found that the TO_DATE function did not seem to work using ^ instead of ". Would I be correct? I think the Oracle manual says that " must be used.
After some Web research I eventually amended my control file to as follows:
load data
infile 'h:\insert_statements\22_insert_into_SCAN_FILE_INFO.txt'
REPLACE
into table SCAN_FILE_INFO
fields terminated by "," optionally enclosed by '^'
TRAILING NULLCOLS
(scan_id, scan_filename
file_format_id
orig_scanning_resolution_dpi
scanner_id, scanner_operator_id
scanning_date "TO_DATE (:scanning_date, 'YYYY-MM-DD')"
original_map_publication_id
reprint_publication_id)
A simple line of data is as follow:
280001, ^1910 - London^, 270001, 400, 250001, 260001, "TO_DATE('2007-06-06', 'YYYY-MM-DD')", 200019,
The final column being null.
However when I attempt that I get the following error message:
Record 1: Rejected - Error on table SCAN_FILE_INFO, column SCANNING_DATE.
ORA-01841: (full) year must be between -4713 and +9999, and not be 0
If I change the scanning_date part to:
scanning_date "EXPRESSION TO_DATE (:scanning_date, 'YYYY-MM-DD')",
or
scanning_date "CONSTANT TO_DATE (:scanning_date, 'YYYY-MM-DD')",
I get the error message:
Record 1: Rejected - Error on table SCAN_FILE_INFO, column SCANNING_DATE.
ORA-00917: missing comma
As soon as I do the following:
scanning_date "EXPRESSION, TO_DATE (:scanning_date, 'YYYY-MM-DD')",
or
scanning_date "CONSTANT, TO_DATE (:scanning_date, 'YYYY-MM-DD')",
I get too many values error message:
Record 1: Rejected - Error on table SCAN_FILE_INFO.
ORA-00913: too many values
I also tested out scanning_date DATE "YYYY-MM-DD", but that just gave the same ORA-01841 error message as above.
I must be doing something very simple which is wrong but I cannot figure it out.
Kind regards
TimAnd why do you have scanning date as "TO_DATE('2007-06-06', 'YYYY-MM-DD')" in your infile? All you need is 2007-06-06. If you can not change infile generation code, use:
load data
infile 'h:\insert_statements\22_insert_into_SCAN_FILE_INFO.txt'
REPLACE
into table SCAN_FILE_INFO
fields terminated by "," optionally enclosed by '^'
TRAILING NULLCOLS
(scan_id, scan_filename
file_format_id
orig_scanning_resolution_dpi
scanner_id, scanner_operator_id
scanning_date "TO_DATE(REPLACE(REPLACE(:scanning_date,'TO_DATE('),'''YYYY-MM-DD'')'), 'YYYY-MM-DD')"
original_map_publication_id
reprint_publication_id)SY. -
Error: "PackageFromTheweb" when install SQL Server 2000 cluster
Hi,
I am trying to setup a WAS 6.40 system. When I am installing SQL Server 2000 on cluster, I got following error: "This program is used internally by PackageFromTheWeb. It should not be executed directly." Our OS is Windows 2003 Enterprise SP2. Search on the internet many have the same problem but seems no answers. We even completed rebuild OS and install again got the same error message. Very frustration! Realizing the installation has NOT even get to SAP part yet, but any of you see this kind error message when you install SQL Server? How do you fix it?
Any helpful anwsers are appreciated and reward points.
Thanks,

Not sure I understand what you are asking. But to answer your question, No, I did not install any software on my desktop. I am logon to the server remotely to install SQL Server 2000.

ORA-01003 when using SQL*Loader
Hi people,
Can anyone shed some light on this.
We have a multitasked dataload operation that is using SQL*Loader and on occasion we're seeing some rows failing due to ORA-01003 no statement parsed. Could this be due to some shortage of a database resource (cursors, connections ??) or are there other well known reasons for this.
Any help appreciated.
Regards
AndyCheck those registers ( rows ) in the bad file or in the discard file. If the register(s) are in the discard file is because the register ( row ) does not complete the requirements of denoted in the controlfile file and if those registers are in the error file is because the database is rejecting them according to constraints and so on.
Conclusion: realize in what file those rows are being stored after to be rejected.

In my opinion this would mean that there is a problem with Toshiba Power Saver
What Toshiba notebook you have exactly?
Maybe reinstalling Power Saver could help. You can find it on official Toshiba website. -
