Please use Adobe Digital Editions

Grazie a chi mi aiuterà

When I try to change color of an image, I use the paint bucket in a selected area and the program gives me "the program has committed an error", asks me whether I wish to report this, then the program quits.
In fact I cannot edit images.
HP tried to uninstall the program and install it again but the problem remains!
    How can I fix this?
I have a certain urgency because I have to do a lot of important work still!!!!!
    Thanks for what you do.

    Ciao, Giorgio,
What version of Windows are you running?
Have you ensured your video drivers are up to date from HP or the maker of your video card?
You mention HP...  Do you have the program StarDock WindowBlinds on your system (which is supplied by HP on some systems) to "re-skin" the Windows theme?  I have seen that program cause system problems.

  • Errors message showing in ADE

    Hi All,
I am getting the following message in Adobe Digital Editions when I open an epub that I created programmatically.
"the document appears to have minor errors that might cause it to be displayed incorrectly"
The epub is displaying fine in Calibre.
The html and css is valid. No warnings. Perfectly fine.
I have checked the epub files using Epubcheck validators. It is perfectly fine and no warnings or errors.
I have no idea how else to check it to find out what could be causing this error. Does anyone have any idea?
I need to solve this problem immediately.
Thanks in advance for all your help/
    Regards
    Ram

    Hi,
I got a solution to the below mentioned problem myself.
The main problem is due to usage of pseudo elements in the external stylesheet.
    e.g. abstract:before & abstract:after
    /*.abstract:before {
    content: "Abstract" ;
    display: block;
    font-weight: bold;
    margin: .67em 0;
If I comment the above code in the stylesheet eradicate the ADE problem.
We have to also ensure that the stylesheet used does not have any errors in it.
I am posting this because this would help anybody is facing the same problem.
    Thanks
    Ram

I solved! Windows 8.1 does not support ADE, I installed an app: DL Reader. Perfect.

  • Can't authorize - I get a connection error.  No previous ADE versions on this computer, no firewall issues.

I am going crazy trying to open an ebook from my library.  I am obviously connected to the internet, but I cannot get Adobe Digital Editions to authorize my computer.  It keeps telling me there is a connection error.  I have looked through several forums and answers, but none have worked so far.

exactly the same problem for me! I don't know how many time did i already lost to try to solve this problem. Adobe really sucks :-(

    Come posso fare?

    Cosa posso fare?

    Hi Shreya,
That answer seems to work in purchased books but in my case I dont know who is the ebook provider in lebrary.  I asked library people and they did not give me any contact to reset the activation.  I will try again to find out that contact. I was wondering if there is any way at our side so we can fix this.  Probably there is nothing. Thanks anyway.

  • ADE 2.0 stopped working (won't download library books to ADE on Windows computer for Kobo

I've used ADE to download e-books from my public library onto my Kobo for over a year now but for a week now I haven't been able to.  When I open the library book, select 'download' and it opens  ADE but it is a totally blank page (there should be several books there that I have purchased).  It sits on this blank screen for a while and eventually an error message comes up "ADE 2.0 has stopped working.  A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solutions is available".
I pinged my local library who suggested that I uninstall ADE and reinstall it.  I did that and nothing changed.  I waited 24 hrs and tried again. Still no change.  I've also removed my computer authorization (ADE-Help-Contr Shift d) and reauthorized.  Still can't load a book.
    Any suggestions???

There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1).
Some of them just appear like that for no obvious reason on previously working systems.
Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-editions/kb/cant-install-digital-editions.html
The forum software is sometimes corrupting the link above.  There shouldn't be a blank in 'editio ns.html'.  The following redirects to the same page: http://tinyurl.com/diged172
Some people have found ADE trying to upgrade automatically.
It appears (not 100% sure) that if you install ADE2.0 as a new install (not as an upgrade) that your 1.7.2 will continue to run.
Probably best to say no if 2.0.x installation asks if you want to migrate your library.

  • Dynpage Error

    Hello All,
I imported a very old par file into NWDS and I am getting the following build error:
"The project was not built since its classpath is incomplete. Cannot find the class file for com.sapportals.htmlb.page.Dynpage.Fix the classpath then try rebuilding the project"
I added htmlb_api jar files from plugins folder (of IDE) and I am still getting this error. I am ading these jar files to classes.api folder in the project. Should I add these someplace else? Am I missing something here?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks Praveen.
I could access the log files and I found the following error:
I am getting this error after I deploy the component on the one portal (PORTAL1). If I deploy it on PORTAL2 I am not getting any error.

  • Error trying to add Google Play purchased book

I'm encountering an error that I'd appreciated advice on.
I have a Google Play book I'm trying to add to Digital Editions. When I try to open the .acsm file, I get the error: "Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_IO_CANNOT_OPEN"
After looking at reports of similar errors, I've de-authorized & re-authorized and have uninstalled ADE & installed older versions (1.7.2, 2.0, 3.0) and get the same error in each version. I've also tried ADE on two different computers (one running Windows 8 and one running Windows 7).
Thank you for any suggestions you might have.

I got the 4.0.1 version working on my Windows 7 machine. I uninstalled again, and then scoured out every Digital Editions related file and directory I could locate in the user and app settings/data subdirectories. Rebooted. Re-installed 4.0.1. Got a new error when trying to authorize the computer which led me to delete a registry key as indicated on this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-editions/kb/error-e_act_not_ready.html
Started ADE up, authorized the computer and was then able to add books. No network settings were changed. No proxy servers were running. 4.0.1 ADE on my Windows 7 now adds books from .acsm files.
Still getting the same E_IO_CANNOT_OPEN error on my Windows 8 machine after trying the same process. I suspect whatever files were lurking after uninstall that I managed to purge in Windows 7, and were causing whatever conflict leading to the error, are still out there somewhere in the file system.

  • ADE won't read my Nook?

I've read previous threads regarding this issue and have tried the instructions listed but without results. My question is really if there's something I've missed or can also try? I purchased my Nook back in Aug 2011 and used to just download my ebooks via B&N. I want to put other ebooks on my Nook though but got the "not authorized" error. I downloaded ADE, authorized it with my ID and checked to be sure it was my Nook's ID as well (I'm assuming that means same email address and password?). Still can't get it to work.
So I saw the issues regarding the two folders needing to be deleted. After fixing the "hidden" folder issue on my Mac (which is my main computer), I deleted the .adobe-digital-editions folder. Still can't get ADE to read. I've seen a lot of solutions mention a second folder on the Nook drive called "Digital Editions". I can't find it. I DO have a folder named that in my documents though. I've tried deleting it as well but to no avail. It reappears the moment I load ADE again. Same goes with the .adobe file on the actual Nook drive. The moment I eject and reload my Nook, the folder is back. Doesn't matter if I deleted it by dragging to trash (and emptying it) or by using Terminal and the tricker code there. It just reappears much to my never ending frustration.
So I'm at a loss. It seems that these methods have worked for others and yet I've done exactly as the steps say (and even tried keeping the NOOK plugged in and relaunching ADE or vice versa) and nothing seems to work.
Is there something I'm missing? Or is there another method I can try?

Try v1.7.2 instead.  Much more tolerant and less full of bugs.
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

    grazie

if you failed to 'sign out' of, at least, 1 of your 2 previous installations you will be prompted to sign out from both when trying to activate on a 3rd computer.

  • License denied why???

"error recovery license. communication error with the license server W_ADEPT_CORE_EXPIRED"
    why that? thanks

ADE is very good at generating error message that have no meaning to any normal person (or indeed to anyone who doesn't have access to the ADE source code).
Also, it often generates messages that are clear but completely incorrect.
It could be reated to e_adept_request_expired.  In that case, check that the time and timezone on your computer are correct,
and also on any connected eReader device that remembers time.
Otherwise, a general comment that may help ....
There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0.  Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
