Errore di elaborazione video:-50 (Imovie)

Che devo fare per risolvere il problema che mi si ripresenta sempre in fase di condivisione?

This error usually means that you have a corrupted video clip somewhere in the project.  Try selecting all and pasting into a new project.  If the new project doesn't share then try copying half of it into a new project and sharing that.  If this works you know that the problem lies in the other half.   Then split the half with the problem clip and sharing that ....  and so on.  This way you can eventually find where the problem clip is and replace it.

  • Error importing iphone video to imovie

I am trying to import iphone 4 video to iPhoto on MBP but getting an error.  Is there a video minimum time?  I'm importing videos 1 at a time, videos are about 3 to 12 minutes long.  All have .mov extension.  Getting an error.  What am I not doing correctly?

I'm having a similar issue. I imported a video from my iPhone to my iMac. The preview of the video imported is perfect. Views same as on iPhone. However, when I select the clip for a "New Project" then the video is all messed up. I'd call it a cross from squished, to cropped to enlarged. Definitely not the same as what I imported and see in the original strip in the Event Window. Weird.

I'm having the exact same issue, but still haven't figured out what it is. I note that at the top of this thread it indicates that there are two "helpful" entries and one "solved" entry, but I can't find the solved one, so maybe someone will repost it here or kindly link to it.
There is one icon missing though.
As I read through the excellent tutorial at http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/imovie_09stone.html I scroll down to the point where he talks about dragging music in from iTunes, which is what I'm trying to do. I can see, in his screen shot, the extra little icon that is a red oval and a white "1" in it. I don't get that icon when I am trying to drag my music into the video. I do get the green and white plus icon when I try to drag my music in. Also I DO get BOTH the red 1 and the green plus when I try dragging in a sound effect, which I can do with no problem. But why not the music?
I've been able to drag in music with no problem in other productions, so I can't figure out what is going on with this one. I'm sure there is a setting somewhere that got flipped, but I can't figure out where.
In desperation I also tried adding an extra title slide at the end of my video just to make sure there is more video time than music time in the production, but that didn't help at all.
    Any help guys?

    Hi
Due to some kind of copy protection in iTunes - I don't copy directly from this in iMovie
to my projects. (Most often the result of doing it in iMovie is a DVD without any sound)
    I do
    • In iTunes - collect needed audio into a new Playlist
    • then burn this out as an Audio-CD .aiff (NOT .mp3)
    • This CD I copy into a folder on my Mac (often containing other material that's connected to the project)
    • And then I drag and drop these .aiff files into my movie project in iMovie.
This works Greatly and even more so when I do my DVD.
    Yours Bengt W

  • Transferring Hi8 video to iMovie to DVD

Contrary to the popular mythology that using Mac's is intuitive, mine is missing the simple single icon in iMovie "Convert Hi8 video to iMovie and then to DVD". I could hope that there would be one simple action to perform that function but having worked with computer programmers for years I know they don't think that way. I have jumped through a myriad of flaming hoops trying to convert an hour-long Hi8 video tape from my Sony digital camera to our new iMac computer and then saving it to a DVD (hopefully a DVD+R because I have a warehouse full of them). However, after numerous attempts and using our brand new Maran Illustrated user manual (whose listed icons don't match those actually found on our machine)and trial and error (with error exceeding success) I have been able to load the video onto my hard drive but can't yet burn it to a DVD. I have reached the point where a baseball bat through the monitor seems appropriate for reducing my stress and frustration. Thus to prevent a sizable casualty loss could someone please advise me of a simple, straightforward description of the steps necessary to perform the process described above. Then as soon as I can locate my missing iDVD icon from the pop-up bar at the bottom of my screen I can proceed with preserving my cherished old videos.
    Sincerely,
A PC User Not Yet Convinced of the Ease of iMac Use

    Hello, rocky,
Welcome to the discussions! Karsten is correct...you are a good writer!
It should not be that difficult to accomplish what you wish. Some have directly imported the Hi8 video into iMovie from their Hi8 digital camcorders. However, if yours is not digital, you will need to first capture it to DV tape and then import that into iMovie. If you already have the video in your computer, do you mean that the clips are in iMovie?
If so, you can easily view, edit, title, add music etc to your new iMovie. You can make chapter markers to create scenes in iDVD. When you are satisfied with your movie, just save it and close iMovie. Open iDVD (if the icon is missing from the dock, go to your Applications folder and find it. You can drag it into the dock again if you wish). Find the Media tab and look for 'Movies.' Your movie should be visible there looking similar to the iMovie icon. Drag your movie onto the iDVD screen. Automatically, your movie will load and you will see its title, and the options of 'Play Movie' and 'Scene Selection' (if you have made chapter markers; you won't have this option if you have not). You can customize your iDVD project with themes, changing the titles, adding photos, etc. Save whatever you like and when you are done, save the project as a disk image. That will begin the process that looks as if it is burning the DVD, but will actually create an image for you. Specify it to be saved to the desktop, or wherever you wish. You can then burn your disks from the disk image using 'Disk Utility' (found in your Utilities folder).
As far as the type of disk to use, iDVD 6 can burn to + or -, but most of us recommend DVD-R for best burning. Also, the type of media can make a big difference. Verbatim is one of the best.
Post back if you have more problems or if what I have written is not so clear...after all, it is 2am here Much better than bashing your monitor...it is not the monitor's fault....!

  • Layering Video in IMovie 11

Is it possible to layer video? If so how is this accomplished. (there is an archived message regarding this with links that do not work for iMovie 08)
    thanks a bunch
I have 3 videos that I would like to layer into One. Do some cross fading etc
I have final cut express (which I never learned how to use smh)
would really like to do this in iMovie (its user friendly for video novice)

Thanks for the video link. That was very helpful.  Just to get on the same page in terminology, yes those were cross-fade transitions, but they were also what iMovie calls Cutaways, where you shift from one camera to another while keeping the audio going.
iMovie 09 and iMovie 11 both have an easy way to do Cutaways. First you go to iMovie/Preferences and make sure the Advanced Tools are enabled. Then, you drag the second clip onto the fist clip, and a popup menu will appear. Choose Cutaway.
A lot of Cutaways are what are called "B-Roll", where someone may be talking for a long time, and you may want to cutaway to video or stills that illustrate what he or she is talking about. In this case, the Cutaway function works great.
However, in your Cutaway, you really want the Cutaway to line up exactly with your Audio track. This takes a little more work.
You mention iMovie 08. Here is how to do Cutaway in iMovie 08. It is a little complcated but it works. It will be difficult to line up the audio exactly, but can be done with trial and error.
If you have iMovie 09, you get the Cutaway function that I mentioned earlier. Here is a good Tutorial.
If you have iMovie 11, you also get the Audio WaveForms function that makes it much easier to line up the Audio. Here is a post where I discussed in detail how to do this.
The basic problem here is that we are taking a consumer tool and trying to simulate a Professional function. If you get Final Cut Pro, this all becomes pretty easy.
Your last question about 2 clips in the same shot can only be done in iMovie 09 or iMovie 11 through several built in effects, including Side By Side, Picture In Picture, Etc.  You don't get a lot of other choices. Once again, you get more flexibility with Final Cut Pro.

I tried to import a video into iMovie. Its says their is not enough space on the destination disk. I deleted many projects, and events. Nothing changed. What files do I delete and how?

Hard drive full or near full:
You are going to have to delete, move or archive your data to regain hard drive space.
Have you emptied your iMac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Other things you can do to gain space.
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive older emails you want to save.
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Uninstall apps that you no longer use. If the app has a dedicated uninstaller, use it to completely uninstall the app. If the app has no uninstaller, then just drag it to the OS X Trash icon  and empty the Trash.
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
When you install and launch it, let it do its thing initially, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run all of the processes in the tabs. Let OnyX clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be moved, also, to the external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.
You may have to Purchase an external FireWire or Thunderbolt hard drive to move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
    Good Luck!

  • Importing analogue video into imovie.

I am trying to import analogue video into imovie 5 using my canon i830 dv camera with tape out. imovie 5 will not import using this method and as I only have a few tapes to transfer I do not want to purchase further hardware. Will imovie 6 enable me to do this. Any sugestions?

iMovie has not changed in how it imports video from camcorders to the best of my knowledge. Your DV camcorder with a Firewire connection should import to iM4, 5 (HD), or 6. So it would appear that there is a problem with a setting, hardware, or something else keeping it from working. Sooooo....
Let's explore your setup. You have a DV camcorder right? It has a Firewire port? You are connecting the camera, with a Firewire cable, directly to the Mac? Daisy chained off an external hard drive? Via a Firewire hub?
Does the menu of the camera feature different connection types that you can select from (e.g. Firewire, USB, A/V jacks, etc.)?
What mode do you put the camera in when you attempt to import? Camcorder record mode? VCR play mode? Other?
When you hook up the camera what exactly happens? Do you get absolutely nothing? Do you get a message that the camcorder is connected but then can not get it to import? Do you get an error message?
Are you in an iMovie project when you attempt to import? Or are you trying to see the camcorder from the desktop?
Are you SURE the cable you have is OK? Have you tried it on another device to verify? Some cables have the molded over plastic higher on the connector than others. I personally have had devices with deep ports on them that a cable with more molded plastic (less exposed metal) not connecting but swapping to another cable with less molding and more of the metal connector exposed working correctly.

I have a MacBook Pro. How do I capture a still picture from a video in iMovie and print the still picture?

Click iMovie/About. If you have version 9.0.4 (iMovie 11) this will work. If you have an earlier version, this will also work, but there are also other ways.
First, get an app called MPEG Streamclip, which is free. (MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5)
    Open MPEG Streamclip.
In iMovie, select the clip you need. Then, right-click/Reveal in Finder.
Drag this clip into MPEG Streamclip
In MPEG Streamclip, move the playhead to the frame you want.
In MPEG Streamclip, click FILE/EXPORT FRAME.
Choose JPEG, TIFF, or PNG and give it a name.
You can then drag this photo into iPhoto.
I have created a short video Tutorial on how to do this. There is one error in the Tutorial, where it says that Command-click is the same as right-click. I should have said Control-click instead.

  • I have been trying to import VHS video into iMovie via a Hollywood Dazzle bridge.  Did not have trouble until I upgraded to mavericks.  I have a mac book pro, 10.9.1, iMovie 10.0.2.  Says it is recording, but when I go to check, it says the file is empty.

I have been trying import VHS video into iMovie via a Hollywood Dazzle bridge.  I have been successful doing this in the past, but now it is not working.  I have a mac book pro, 10.9.1, (mavericks), iMovie 10.0.2.  Everything in iMovie looks like it is working.  It reads "recording" in the upper left hand corner of the pane while the video is playing.  When I stop the process to check on my clip it says that the file is empty.  The only thing that has changed since I did it successfully is that I upgraded to mavericks from whatever I had previously.  My system is about one year old.  Any suggestions?

    Hey, Clinton,
Thanks for your help!  I was able to go to iMovie 9.0.9 and import video.  I was still curious as to why it didn't work in version 10.0.2, so I contacted Apple tech support.  They were't sure at first as to why it wouldn't work, so they had me delete iMovie 10.0.2 and then re-install it just to see if something had gone wrong when it upgraded.  That didn't change anything.  In the end, they determined that 10.0.2 doesn't support the Hollywood Dazzle DV bridge.  But I have a workaround path from them that I will share so that it's possible to import to 9.0.9, then move it to 10.0.2.
         1.  Open iMovie 9 (finder/applications/iMovie 9.0.9
         2.  Import from Dazzle Bridge to iMovie 9, note which event you are importing the clips into
         3.  Close iMovie 9
         4.  Open iMovie 10 (probably in the dock)
         5.  File/Import Media...navigate to home(this was my name, on the left side of iMovie, under Favorites)/Movies/iMovie events.  Find the event folder that contains your Dazzle clips (tip-try sorting by date modified to look at recent events.)
         6.  Select the clips and import.  Click the blue "Import Selected" button on the bottom right.
You may get a message that some files cannot be imported.  Click continue import.  It's a little glitchy.  It imports your clip, and also makes a copy of it, too.  On the copy, the audio is normal, but the video is choppy.  In any case, you would delete the copy, anyway.
Hope this additional information helps somebody else.  Thanks again, Clinton for helping me!
