Errore versione prova illustrator

ciao ho installato illustrator cs6 prova, ma quando vado a salvare sul pc o in rete il file mi da il seguente errrore:
Can not save the illustration, the file may be read-only or in use by another application, or you may not have the necessary permissions. Save the document with another unanimous or to another folder or directory. -54
cosa posso fare?

We can't know without some system information. could be performance issues on your harddriver, could be anotehr process/ program liek a virus scanner interfering...

Maintain PDF layering when opening in older version of Illustrator?

As the title explains, I was wondering if it may be possible to avoid data loss upon opening a PDF in an older version of Illustrator. I have a client who is still using CS5, and needs to have editable PDF files that maintain their hierarchy.
Currently standing, I get the "This file was generated by a newer version of Illustrator" error, which flattens the artwork into a single layer. Is there a workaround for this, or am I out of luck?

Have you tried saving as CS5. There's a drop-down menu for choosing a version. It will still flatten some things that are not available in the older version, but you may have better luck keeping the layers intact that way.

Installation Error DW050: Adobe Illustrator CS5.1: failed due to language pack installation failure

I recently got a macbook Air and needed to reinstall my adobe creative suite to said new computer. I purchased creative suite online so I downloaded it from there and followed the installation instructions to a T.
I originally purchased Adobe Creative Suite in 2011 so it is version CS5.1
Everything installed successfully except Adobe Illustrator, which at the end left me this error message

how can I get illustrator on my computer?!

"generated by a newer version of illustrator"

I just got a warning or error message I've never seen before. It says "the file xxx.ai was generated by a newer version of Illustrator. Would you like to import this file? Some data loss may occur."
I made the ai in Illustrator cs6, and was opening it in cs6 when this occured. Anyone get this? When I did choose to open it, it looked like everything was there, but all my layers were gone (everything was now on an unnamed Layer 1)

THe "Adobe Application Manager" says all my stuff is up to date... You have v16.0.1? It's part of CS6's Master Collection, Mac. This file was made on the same machine I tried to open it on.
Anyway, I quit Illustrator and opened that file again and it was ok (should have done that first!). But here's a screenshot of the error for future searchers:

Hi. I ahve an Imac 8.1 I am upgrading my OS maybe up to Mavericks. Newest version of Illustrator too expensive for me. Need to know what the oldest version of Illustrator I can buy that will be compatable.

CS5 runs on Mavericks, but should you need to reinstall, you may run into error as reported on the forums, and Adobe won't give you tech support.
Do you really need Mavericks, besides facetime don't see any major reason you woudl need this.

How can I open a CS4 file in the current version of Illustrator?

I am collaborating with a friend on a project. He has CS4 and can't/won't upgrade.
I was able to send him a file I created in the current version of Illustrator, and he was able to open it (I don't know how successfully, but it opened).
He then saved it with a new name.ai and sent it back to me. When I open it, Illustrator thinks it's a photoshop file. It's able to open it ok, but it's rasterized, and is lacking a lot of details. So, even when I use Image Trace to get the pieces back, little shapes, like the tongue in an animal's mouth, are missing. And all of the individual pieces that make the Illustrator file so easy to tweak are lacking.
Is there a trick to making this work, on my side or on his? I already tried searching via google and didn't find anything that looked helpful.
Last resort may be to get him to just install the 30 day trial of the current version so we can get this project done.

Having his install the trial is the way to go. Working between AI versions is a pain and as you are finding out almost impossible with 5 versions between the collaborators.

After finding the correct email address, different adobe help number people told me to come here to ask as there is no phone support. Can anyone get me to an adobe technician that can provide a price quote for finding out what created these files and for getting them converted? Thanks.

Sorry, I understood you to say you had the whole CS6 suite, which includes Illustrator.
As far as finding out what the files are, sometimes you can look at them in a text editor to figure this out. See below; the, Creator Tool line. Not every software package makes it this easy, though.

Is there a way to restrict handles when snapping like older versions of illustrator?

In previous versions of illustrator, when you snapped to grid the handles would snap as well. This made making complicated precise line work easier and faster. I noticed in the October update that the removal of this function is being touted as an upgrade/feature??

However, handles snapping to the grid restricts the freedom with which you draw. In the 2014 release of Illustrator CC, whatever you choose to snap to, handles are completely unrestricted. When handles are not subject to being snapped to a grid, you have much finer control over drawing and editing workflows."
...that handle restriction was actually very, very useful to me. Any way to get that back/toggle it on and off? Without having to downgrade to older versions of illustrator?

The answer is not yet. Most people are hoping that the engineers will introduce a toggle to return the old behavior as an option but don't hold your breath. If you absolutely need it you will have to revert to an earlier version.

Very new and very green to illustrator.
Have used only once or twice since i bought it.
Unfortunately when i need to use it now - it crashes
upon starting up.
I received the following error message:

Haven't a clue what to do!

Updates can fail due to any number of system issue. They are more prone to failing if you alter the application in any way. On the Macintosh, popular applications such as Monoligual will remove application package contents and therefore cause updates to fail.
The easiest solution is to uninstall Illustrator CS5 using the uninstaller and then reinstall Illustrator CS5, then immediatlly run the 15.0.1 update.
