It is a vicious cycle. I spoke with two different people by phone (no chat is available that I could find, nor an email address0. You can use System.Management in a helper library and create a helper method to implement this ->

Got charged for going over in Texts even though I only used 3000/5000

At the end of last month, I started texting a lot more than normal. Knowing that I had the 500 text plan I figured it would be a good idea to bump it up to the 5000 text plan on 7/31 figuring that they would just charge the extra $10 to my bill and I would be OK since when I got this phone the sales lady said that if I noticed that I was going to exceed the limit I could just change to the higher plans whenever I want.
Turns out that while I can switch to the new plan, instead of charging me $10 more they refunded me $2.90, from the 500 text plan, and charged me $5.80 for the new plan at a Pro-rated price. Normally this would be OK but when I looked at the bill it went from normally $90-100 for the 700 Family Share Plan with 500 texts on the main line and an extra line to around $225. They had, by Pro-rating both the return and the new plan, caused me to go over in texts adding an additional $91 to my account.
Since they Pro-rated the 500 text plan via the return and still applied that texting limit through 7/30 I was given 371 texts for that period which I ended up using 623, going over by 252 charging me $25.20. Also with the pro-rated 5000 text plan I was given 1452 used 2110 going over by 658 charging me $65.80 for a total of $91 in charges that should have been $10 for the upgrade for the entire month from 500 to 5000 texts.
I have emailed Verizon and in a few minutes I am planning on calling and filing a complaint to try and get this rectified, any ideas would be helpful.

In the future, either change your plan on the date that your billing cycle begins or call into CS and ask them to either A) schedule the change for the first day of your billing cycle or B) backdate the plan to the start of the current billing cycle. Those are the only methods to avoid pro-rated charges. If you complain, Verizon may refund up to 50% of the overages you incurred, but since you made the plan change without asking for backdating, you agreed to the pro-rating. There's really not a whole lot Verizon is going to do for you.

How do I reset the number of activations on Visio 2003 after getting a "too many activations" message?

I just installed Visio 2003 on a PC, and got the "we can't activate this app via the internet because you've installed it too many times" message. I went back to phone activation, but, of course, that's no longer available for this product.
How do I get the number of activations reset? Apparently you used to be able to do this by calling Microsoft, but what's the number to call? Or is there another way to do it?
I'm probably going to need to do it for my copy of Office 2003 also.

You should be able to link your phone number by following the steps in the article below. From your iPhone, sign out of FaceTime and iMessage and then sign back in and it should link. Check in the Start Conversation With and I Can Be Reached at section in iMessage and FaceTime respectively.

Unable to De-Authorize Computer due to Hard Drive Crash. Getting now Maximum Activations Exceeded

I purchased an iMac at BestBuy, installed my Adobe Cloud Subscription (secondary license, the primary is activated on my iMac at work) onto it and used it for a week. The hard drive crashed and I went back to BestBuy and had them replace the iMac with the same model.
I was obviously unable to de-authorize the returned iMac and on the new one I get the message: Maximum Activations Exceeded ...
Why isn't there an easier way to de-authorize computers.
I went to the chat and they gave me the tech support number which happens to be available only from Mo-Fr. I am pretty much unable to do any work from home over the weekend.
Is there any solution to this problem I am not aware of?

Nope, you need to call and have all your info ready. They are pretty sticky about confirming it's you. Once they confirm it's you they will change it. Easy Peasy. I have had to do it a couple of times over the years.

Max number of items exceeded?

I am trying to develop a questionaire like application. Most of the logic is stored inside pl/sql functions (that is retrieving the previous or next question with possible answers and answer-types, like, eg. radiogroup, select-list, textarea, ...) while all of the questions and respective possible answers are kept inside a collection. In processing the answers after submit I store given answers inside the same collection, basically by nullifying all possibly previously given answers for the current question and then looping through eg, g_f01.count to refill. The entire application remains on the same page, showing eg., in one 'frame', one or two questions with say 7 checkboxes and two textareas.
Everything seems to work fine, I can go forward and backward and will find new questions or ones that already have been answerd, but!!...
after the 50st item (answer), that is after I reached the 50st radiogroup, checkbox or textarea, new checkboxes or radiogroups even though shown the resulting values will not be stored inside the collection anymore.

We have a custom code that use DBMS_XMLGEN,the issue is when any exception happens the Number os active cusrors increse and when it happens in a lopp we hit 1000ORA-01000: maximum open cursors exceeded.
Although I close the context in the exception Block.

Why do the number of active JMS connections increase?

Problem
- Number of active JMS connections and current JMS messages increases until the Weblogic instances crash with an OutOfMemory exception
Setup
- Weblogic v9.2.3, Cluster with 4 Nodes
- A JMS Message is sent from a MDB in Weblogic to a distributed queue which has a member on each of the 4 Weblogic nodes. The session is created as follows session = connection.createSession(false,Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE), the message delivery mode is set programmatically to persistent and the delivery mode override of the queue setup is set to persistent too
- Standalone JMS client processes: each one is attached to all 4 nodes. Each one uses a unique JMS message selector so that we have more than one queue consumer for one queue but every message is exactly dedicated to one queue consumer. We us weblogic.jar for the clients.
- Use of Weblogic auto reconnect feature. JMS client code:

Remarks and Questions
- There are no pending JMS messages which is good
- In our setup, each JMS client is connected to all 4 nodes as the messages are not distributed to all nodes: if a message is put to Queue A but the client is only connected to Queue B, the message is NOT transfered from Queue A to Queue B. We set the parameter "Forward Delay" to 5 seconds with no effects. Is this the normal behavior?
- Not all JMS clients are visible in the Weblogic console under JMS Services -> JMS Servers -> [Server] -> Monitoring -> Active Connections. Which one are visible? Which one are not visible? There are also clients where the number of connections is not zero but stays constant; we know that as several independent clients on different hosts are started and the IP adress is visible in the Weblogic console. Why....?
- What reasons can lead to increasing connections? Is this due to client or server problems? Do we have to acknowledge the message in the onMessage(Message) method of the client JMS consumer? So far as I know, we don't have to.
- Are the increasing number of current messages due to the increasing number of JMS connections?
- May the RECONNECT_POLICY_ALL policy produce this problem?
Any hint is appreciated.

To answer the question about the forwarding of messages from one queue to another myself: As mentioned at http://forums.bea.com/thread.jspa?threadID=400000611, the forwarding for queues does only work if all queue consumers are attached to the same queue. This means that our setup is OK.
But the main question is still unanswered: why do the number of active JMS connections increase? I forgot to mention that
- all messages arrive at the clients and that no exceptions are visible in the log
- if you kill the client, the connections are still visible in the Weblogic console!?
Please help as this problem is very urgent.

1) What is the best way to limit the number of active threads? ie i want to run 10 threads but i want there to be only 3 running at a time.
this is how im thinking of doing it rite now:

2) I have a class that extends thread how do i overide the constructor so that i can add the thread to the threadgroup?

I saw another post on this forum and one at JavaRanch where you need to create an application that given a directory will scan each file and report the file name and how many lines are in them... but it must be multithreaded, each thread scan a single file and updates some list and finally you can only have three of these file scanning threads running at the same time...

ODS - Number of Active Data Records count?

I am having a ODS. In manage screen of ODS, i can able to see the records as shown bellow:
Transferred records: 352053
Added Records: 1836
But the number of entries in Active Data of ODS is only 471 records.
My question here is that why Added records (1836) are not equal to number of Active data records (471)? Where i am missing or is it correct?

Have you completed the Activation of ODS data after uploading? If no see the entries in NEW records' table of ODS.
If you have activated already,still there is a chance to have different count, because of no of records with same value of KEY fields but exist in different packets.
