Question

My iChat AV has worked before, on the same network and now all of a sudden it has stopped. No, my firewall is not on. Yes, the streaming of Quicktime is set to 1.5mbs. Are there any ports I should open in my router? I am using a Linksys WRT54G Router.

I would again try it without the router, just to verify that's not the problem. Here are the setting I suggest verifying before trying the chat:
1. Go to System Preferences and choose Sharing
2. Click on the Firewall tab
3. If you don't have an iChat settings, click New. If you do, click on that one
4. Click Edit
5. It should say:
- Port Name: Other
- TCP Port Numbers: 5190, 5220, 5222, 5223, 5298
- UDP Port Numbers: 5060, 5190, 5297, 5298, 5353, 5678, 16384,16403
- Description iChat
6. Click OK
7. Go to System Preferences and choose Quicktime
8. Click on the Streaming tab
9. For Streaming Speed, choose 1.5Mbps T1/Intranet/LAN
10. Go to iChat
11. Choose File/Preferences
12. Click on the Video tab
13. Under Bandwidth Limit: choose None
Try adding a buddy in your Buddy List named appleu3test01. See if you can video iChat with it. It is just an iPhone ad that streams to you, but it tests connectivity.
