Errors after Configuring Communications Express on JES2005Q4

I need your help I am strugling to install JES 2005Q4 as a collabarative mail server by following this article.

Every thing works fine until i reach the "Configure Messaging Server for SSO " section. When I proceed my messaging server http service failed to start (timeuot). Web server itself start successfuly and I can access various other sites like "im, amserver, amconsole. delegated administrator etc". If I further proceed "Configure Calendar Server for SSO" its http service also failed to start.
I have found that following coomand and line are creating problem
./configutil -o local.webmail.sso.amnamingurl -v http://wireless.map.beta.com:80/amserver/namingservice
vi /opt/SUNWics5/cal/config/ics.conf
local.calendar.sso.amnamingurl = "http://wireless.map.beta.com:80/amserver/namingservice"
It seems like namingserver url is not responding timely so I check it manualy and it returns this message imediatetly "Webtop 2.5 Platform Low Level request servlet"
What does it mean ?

I faced the same problem during the deployment as refer to the same deployment guide. The problem has been solved after I have patch the messaging server with patch 118208-51.

Yes... thank you... but i also noticed the response of the user "Srikishan D". Meanwhile we solved the issue.
Our solution is very strange but it works: after the installation we added the parameters in the following order, two by two and doing everytime an istance restart.
FIRST TIME
icm/server_port_X = PROT=HTTPS,PORT=<Port number of the HTTPS log>
icm/HTTPS/verify_client=1
SECOND TIME
sec/libsapsecu = <Path and file name of the SAPCRYPTOLIB>
ssl/ssl_lib = <Path and file name of the SAPCRYPTOLIB>
THIRD TIME
ssf/name = SAPSECULIB
ssf/ssfapi_lib = <Path and file name of the SAPCRYPTOLIB>
After that passage we noticed that the STRUST shows the SSL Server so we have the proof that the CryptoLib was in use.

Error in Configuring Airport Express

I recently upgraded my main computer to an iMac. When I opened the new Airport Utility, it had me do a firmware update on my Airport Extreme Base Station (801.11g) (AEBS). I also use an Airport Express (AE) (801.22g) to play iTunes remotely over my stereo. This setup was working fine until the Leopard and firmware update. Now my AE no longer joins the network, which is otherwise fine as far as my computers are concerned.
I've tried factory default resets on the AE, but the configuration fails at the final step where the Airport Utility waits for the AE unit to restart.
How do I get the Airport Express unit back on the network?

OK. We're up and running after a number of changes. I don't know which or what combination made things work, but here's what I did.
1. Airport Express Firmware Update 6.3

I don't know if I had ever done this, nor am I sure that firmware update remain when one does a "factory default" reset, but I did this after a factory default reset using the AX default network.
2. Did a "factory default" reset. Connected AX to the AEBS via Ethernet LAN. Did a Manual configuration.
3. Configured AX, noting the problems listed in Summary. Two were noted. One recommended that the Connection Sharing be turned off (bridge mode). The other indicated Default settings were in operation.
4. Restarted AX. Same result with error in reading the configuration after restart.
5. Changed AEBS Wireless<Wireless Mode to "Create a Wireless Network." Previously this had been set to "Participate in a WDS Network."
#5 seems to have done the trick, though I can't rule out that #1-4 weren't necessary parts of the solution. I've tried to document the many attempts and changes I made so perhaps someone can sort this out for anyone else who might have this problem. iTunes is back on the stereo!

Could you please provide more information about the error you are getting? Are you actually getting an error, such as a WUB-600 or WUC-10 or does nothing happen when you run your form? If nothing happens, then we need to see the output from the Java Console as the error will be listed there. Please post the following information so we can better help you.

With respects to this statement, you are both right and wrong. You are right, in that the Forum is meant to help people and it can be serious. However, I feel you are wrong about the joking. Humor is a wonderful thing and sometimes you can ask a very serious and complicated question in a humorous way and get and be offered solutions by twice as many people than if you had asked the question seriously. What makes forums like this one work is volunteers willing to spend some of their time helping others. Therefore, it is important to ask the right questions (as Denis Segard tried to point out with the links he provided) and give as much information as you can about an issue so we can offer solutions.
If you look at all of us who participate in the forums; Andreas, Francois, Manu, Ammad, myself and many others, we have all used humor in our responses at different times. Humor does not lessen the value of anyone's question or solution. In my humble opinion, humor can enhance an offered solution.

CBS error after configuring java 1.5 for CE builds

I have some trouble with building my old projects on the CBS when I try to configure the CBS so that it can build java 1.5 applications. The guide I did use to configure the CBS was the "Setup_an_NWDI_Track_for_Composition_Environment_Developments.pdf".
There were only two things to do to change the CBS service:
I changed the following things in the Visual Administrator:
the 'BUILD_TOOL_JDK_HOME' from C:\j2sdk1.4.2_14-x64 to 'C:\jdk1.5.0_17-x64'
the 'JDK_HOME_PATH' from 'JDK1.3.1_HOME=C:\j2sdk1.4.2_14-x64;'

MacBook Pro wifi not workin after configuring airport express

It happened twice with 2 different MacBook Pro in the same wifi.
I reset and plugged in an airport express to make a hard reset.
After that, it appeared in the wifi from my MacBook Pro, so I dibble clicked it to configure it as an airplay dispositive.
When my Mac was configuring it, it said waiting for airport express and then a problem occurred.
I tried with another MacBook Pro and happened exactly the same.
Now both macs can't connect to the wifi at home, well, it says it's connected but with an "!" Sign and not working. Just with that particular net.
Can somebody help me please?

Printing error and Export to PDF error after a Quark Express convert

I are working on a catalogue that was previously made with Quark Express. I used q2id to convert over to InDesign CS3. I had some minor issues setting up the new fonts, but that was no big deal. Now that the catalogue is close to finished, I want to do some test print, however, on several of the files it start processing the printing, finish the processing of all the pages, then kills the print job and comes with the following error:
Print Error: The Adobe Print Engine has failed to output your data due to an unknown problem.
Similar error happens when I try to export to PDF, this error only says:
Failed to Export PFD file
Anyone had a similar problem?? I've done a preflight but ID does not indicate any problems with the file nor its content. Is there another tool to scan the file with to find errors?? Possible fix it?? Is there a log file I could check??

Not sure how to check if we do have OPI comments on some of the images, but looks like I have found a solution to the printing problem at least.

The symptoms could describe document corruption rather than network issues which might fall into the category of things that can be cleared up through export to .inx.
Try exporting one or two of the problem files to interchange format, open those and save as new .indd and make a new book file. See if that behaves differently across the network.
I also found another article about INX files, that confirms this technique:

So, I
1. exported all files, one by one to INX or InDesign InterChanged
2. Then reopened those files, saved back as regular .indd files
3. Reopend the new file (hoping for a refreshed file and test to see if it would open without problems.)
4. Then packed the files indevidually and reopend the new packed files when done.
Alle the files now print without any problems but export to PDF still fails with the same error message.
Would the OPI comment be a problem here maybe?

I am unable to configure Communications Express.
I install JES2005Q1 on Sparc Solaris 9 - one-host install.
Patches are up to date but when I want to configure with no display I receive Java exeptions. It doesn't matter wheter there is a "-nodisplay" flag or only DISPLAY does not exists. The beginning is ok but later...

Ok, I've done it.
In Directory Server I use "dc notation". Suffix is "dc=dept, dc=domain, dc=com" and I put "uid=amadmin, ou=people, dc=dept, dc=....." or "uid=amadmin,ou=people,o=dept.domain.com "as IS Administrator DN (Bind DN for uwc).
When I declared o=isp instead of dc=... as suffix in DS there were no problems (Bind DN: uid=amadmin,ou=people,o=isp). Of course via GUI. Text-based configuration has a bug I think. Anyone has used it?
Anyone can help how can I write Bind DN to use dc suffix?

Communications Express doesn't create access Manager SSO session

Hi all,
I'm running Communications Express, Sun Access Manager and Sun messaging server, each on seperate hosts.
Single Sign On works i.e. when users have a valid session and point their browser at the Communications Express URL they can access their mail, calendar and addressbooks without further ado.
When they don't have a valid session though and the users go to the Communications Express URL they get a username and password prompt. If they enter valid credentials they will be logged in, but the session created is only a local session, not an Access Manager SSO session. This behaviour has changed from the previous versions of Comm Exp which wouldn't work at all without SSO.
Is it possible to configure communications express to either redirect users to the Access Manager's authentication page or have Comm Exp create the SSO session on the users behalf?

Access manager is configured similarly: load balanced SSL accelerators

authentication UI). Those then talk to the access manager cluster.
Firewalls and access lists between each of those layers. None of the
applications can be accessed directly from the internet and they are
limited in what they can access in the DMZ as well.
I followed your recipe to the letter. After a bit of tweaking everything
worked like a charm. Policy agent installed and configured on the
SUN webserver where communications express is deployed.
Instructions were very good on detail and easy to follow.
We deploy uwc in the root of the server not in /uwc. Something I didn't notice right away.
It would seem that the policy agent expects the values com.sun.am.naming.url
(The URL for the Access Manager Naming service) and
com.sun.am.policy.am.login.url (The URL of the login page on the Access Manager
where users should enter their credentials) to be the same host.
In our setup the URL/host users have to use to log in can't be accessed by the policy agent.
The policy agent should verify sessions directly against the access manager cluster.
I played with some of the override settings in the policy agent configuration file but
without much success. Eventually I used the hostname our users have to use to log
in and abused the /etc/hosts file to map the external hostname to the internal address
of the access manager cluster. Users end up on the correct login page, and the policy
agent can verify the sessions. Ugly, but it works.
The other issue is that the policy agent redirects to:
com.sun.am.policy.am.login.url?goto=URL_Protected_by_Policy_Agent
When a users enters incorrect credentials they get the default login url, without the
goto parameter. (May be bug in access manager or by design...) After entering their
credentials correctly on their second or third try users won't be redirected back to UWC,
but will end up on the default page defined by their iplanet-am-user-success-url LDAP attribute.
I solved that in the policy agents configuration file by adding the gotoOnFail=URL in the
definition of com.sun.am.policy.am.login.url:
com.sun.am.policy.am.login.url = https://login.domain.com:443/amserver/UI/Login?gotoOnFail=https://uwc.domain.com:443When you enter incorrect credentials you'll be redirected back to uwc (where the policy agent
will again intercept you and send you on to the login page for your next try). May be more of
an issue in the policy agent then your manual.

Having trouble with calendar server with SSO in communication express

I have configured communication express with components calendar, messaging and access manager. I am able to login that but when i click on calendar ,it says "Aplication Error" NULL pointer Exception. I am able to access address book and options for all of them. i checked the am_sso.log , it has statement
com.sun.uwc.UWCMainViewBean <init>
SEVERE: UWCMainViewBean:forwardToURL(forwardtodefview) - null
Can anybody tell me how to fix that problem?

Error while configuring Vintella SSO

I'm trying to implement SSO with Vintela in BO XI3.1 SP3
AD Authentication is working corectly.
I'm getting the following error after configuring Vintela, the error shows when trying to login:
"HTTP Status 500 - com.wedgetail.idm.sso.ProtocolException: com.wedgetail.idm.spnego.server.SpnegoException: GSSException: Failure unspecified at GSS-API level (Mechanism level: com.dstc.security.kerberos.KerberosException: Successfully matched service principal "HTTP/SERVER" but not key type (23) + KVNO (143) in this entry: Principal: HTTP/SERVER Type: 1 TimeStamp: Wed Dec 31 18:00:00 CST 1969 KVNO: -1 Key: 3, ad c1 7f df e3 61 9e 9e )"
I have also tried to use :
-Dcom.wedgetail.idm.sso.password=Password in the Java configuration, (commenting the keytab entry on Web.xml) but when I comment the idm.keytab in the web.xml, I can't even reach the Infoview login page, It shows a 404 error

I have changed the Client in Java from 000 to 001. I have added the certificate to ACL in 001 in my ABAP system. After doing that, I am getting the following error message.

Forwardin mails in communication express

Hi I have configured communication express on my system(project). When I forward the mail the content that I type is repeated twice. this is not desirable. I have checked the message and could find that when mails are compiled with th rich text editor in comExp it creates two parts. This is common in all email clients. I did the same thing using Thunderbird.
When mails are sent from thunderbird and seen in comexp it renders correctly, so i am assuming it is the problem when mails are forwarded in comexp.
I am trying to find out how mails are created but could not find the relevant files. Going through the java script i could see calls(requests) sent to cmd.msc. i dont know what this is?
Could anyone help me on this.

Change phone extension using Unified Communications Express

I am trying to change the extension on a Cisco IP Phone 7965 using Unity Express 7.1. I've tried doing a number of things, but I can't get the phone to change extensions. When I try to associate the phone to the new user, my changes won't save. I go into Configure --> Users and choose the phone that I want this user to start using, but the changes don't save. I have also tried resetting and deleting then adding the phone. In Configure --> Phones, the phone is associated with the old user. I have tried changing Line 1 to associate with the new user, but I am not able to select that user. Only 10 users are available to select.

There is a long history around this particular request - the short of it is there is an existing RFE (request for enhancement) : 6472207 - 'User should have the ability to select "from" address if he has multiple aliases'.
A solution to provide this enhancement was developed for UWC6.2, but pulled from the code for political reasons. The solution still works (I just tried it on my own 6.3 installation) but as I didn't develop it myself I can't provide the information via the forums.
You are welcome to log a Sun support request (if you have a support contract that is - http://msg.wikidoc.info/index.php/Submit_sun_support_request) and ask the engineer to escalate to myself (Shane Hjorth) and I will work through the 'workaround' with you.

My communication express display this error message when i search name > 1000 record.
"Your server is not configured properly or your search query has exceeded the limit, Please check server configuration"
Can i disable this settting or is there any parameter for me to turn ?

Check the directory server access logs to see if there is an error returned for the search.
Also confirm that the lookthru_limit setting in <uwc_deploy_base>/WEB-INF/config/corp-dir/db_config.properties is more then 1000.
