Errors after initial Sun Cluster install
- SunOS conch 5.10 Generic_118833-36 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V210
- Sun Cluster 3.2
I've gone through the scinstall process using the standard answers to questions. The only exception is that when it came to quorum, I answered I would set it up later, as I want to try to the quorum server. There's no shared storage - I'm seeing if it's possible to create a cluster using IP based replication.
I'm getting these error messages every 30 seconds (looks like a result of:

There's no file system errors, and I'm at a complete loss as to why there appears to be this problem. Can anyone offer any advice?

there are 2 issues here.
1. THe error messages that you see. I get them on my freshly installed cluster as well. What did I do? I used the JES installer and installed SC3.2 and SCGeo 3.2 - to be configured later. Ithink that it should only install the packages but not configure any part of them. It seems that it does oitherwise. To me ghcb sound like global cluster heartbeat.. I'll follow up with the developers to get this clarified.
2. Replication within a cluster and no shared storage. THis has several aspects. I, too, see more and more customer demand to have this. If you get it to work let us know. I am not sure though, why you installed the SC Geo edition to achieve this, as I do not think it well help you here.
In any case I can only recommend to set up the quorum server before proceeding, otherwise your whole cluster will panic as soon as you do a single reboot. That is per design..

Disk Error after BC Windows XP Install on Snowleopard
So when I inserted the Windows XP disc in my mac after it told me to, my computer restarted and installed Windows XP on my newly partitioned 40GB Fat32 drive (it had asked to chnage to NTSF but I selected leave without changing. After installing Windows it said something like "Windows is installed, now restarting", now every I try to boot up with the Windows XP partition by holding down "option/alt" at start up, it goes to the black DOS like screen and says Disk Error, cannot load Windows, press any key to continue". Pressing any key does nothing, so I have to restart, and thus I am at another brick wall.
I downloaded some Boot Camp Snow Leopard Drivers and tried burning the .iso of it to a disc but that wasn't even working, not sure I even need to get to that step yet.
Help?Got it, was supposed to reformat the drive within the windows installation. Turns out reading the .pdf manual can be helpful....

MS Word- Shared Library Error after 10.4.7 Instal
After re-starting after installing the upgrade, I received the message Microsoft Database Shared Library Error: Microsoft Database Daemon><CarbonLib><CFMPriv_CarbonSound and, obviously, no launch of Office products. Any solutions?
After installing 10.4.7 everything but Office apps seemed to work. Office x worked but not Office 2004. Did an archive reinstall (after backing up data) and all apps seem to be working. I plan to keep an eye on this forum and/or to wait for greater minds to fix this mess before I install upgrades. I uninstalled Norton a while back so I don't think that is the issue for me.

Invalid Key Length error after 10.4.3 install/10.4.4 update
After installing Mac OS X, version 10.4.3 from CD, and upgrading to version 10.4.4 via Software Update, ran Disk Utility, verify disk, from DU on startup disk and got following message: "...Invalid key length...The volume Macintosh HD needs to be repaired. Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit...1 HFS volume checked...Volume needs repair." Tried rebooting from 10.4.3 install CD and running Disk Utility, First Aid, from CD to repair startup disk. After trying 3 times, First Aid halted and could not repair problem. Purchased Disk Warrior 3.0.3 CD, booted from DW CD, and DW also could not "rebuild" startup disk. Have purchased Drive Genius 1.2 CD from Prosoft to try to repair startup disk. If that fails, is only recourse to backup software on startup disk to external hard drive, and do erase and re-install of 10.4.3/10.4.4 software to cure problem? Please provide help!

I will try re-install of 10.4.4 using the long version in Apple downloads rather than the abbreviated, tailored 10.4.4 version obtained thru Software Update. The suggestion to check Library/Receipts is useful. Since Mac OS 10.4 has been out nearly a year, I know someone must have experienced a similar error message by now (i.e. "Invalid key length") when running Disk Utility with new versions of 10.4. If only recourse is to "reinstall" the software, one wonders what is causing the "corruption" in the data in the first place. Puzzling. Will post result after reinstall and retest. I noticed the version of Disk Utility on my 10.4.3 Install CD is 10.5 whereas the version of DU on my hard drive after the 10.4.4 update is 10.5.3. Is that a problem? JaxJT

ESB(Enterprise Services Builder) access error after PI 7.1 install
We have installed PI 7.1 system. Everything went well with installation.
We can access all the components such as RWB, Directory, SLD,...
However when we try to access ESB(Enterprise Services Builder) we are geting the following error:
"Cannot connect to server using message server: ms://si5host:8106/P4"
We checked the exchange profile parameters and com.sap.aii.connect.repository.mshttpport is having 8106 value.
Did any one face such an issue. Please respond.The problem is resolved for us.
The problem was caused because we did nt have a "FULLY QUALIFIED SERVER NAME" in the exchange profile parameters on the JAVA side.
Once we had the FULLY QUALIFIED SERVER NAME the issue was resolved.
Hope this helps other people who run into the same issue. -
Error after a new ES2 installed
I'm getting this error when the app server starts up. the installation itself finished without any problem or errors. The OS is SUN Solaris and DB is Oracle 10g. Any idea?

And we're still seeing this error. It isn't causing problems, just showing up in the logs. It should be fixed in ES3. -

If I add the -H to trace the headers this is what I get below. I have been fighting with this for a week now and really don't know what to do at this point. We use the RogueWave libraries with the Solaris Studio Compiler for more additional libraries but RogueWave says our version is compatible with Solaris Studio 12.3 and in fact we successfully compiled the RogueWave libraries with this compiler. I"m sure it something in our code but I can't quite figure it out.

Help! Runtime error after Lightroom 1.1 install!
I installed v1.1 on a Win XP machine and now when I try to launch Lightroom I get only a message box:
"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library"
"Runtime error!
"Program: ...Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.1\lightroom.exe
"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."
I tried going back to a previous Windows restore point, but Lightroom 1.0 wouldn't run from there either!
What do I do?I had LR 1.0 working fine on my XP Pro machine - then I had a HD crash. On installing new & larger HD's (I had backups of all data/photos, etc) I set aside 1 of the new 500GB HD's just for photos and another drive just for my photo software applications.
I installed LR 1.1 this morning and received the runtime error.
A call to tech support and about 15 minutes of excellent Adobe support service solved the problem.
I had my .LRCAT file on the Photo HD and not in the My Pictures folder on my C:\ where it was looking for it.
The solution involved starting LR 1.1 and holding the Ctrl key down (I did mention it's a windows machine) This brought up a prompt panel that let me direct LR 1.1 to where the .LRCAT was located.
Problem Solved! Adobe support (I think the technicians name was Dave) worked just the way you would expect it to and my day became a lot brighter.

I am wondering how to re-install Indesign. It was installed on the first computer. The company isno longer using that computer.
I need to re-install this product on the new computer using my first license and also make sure i can use my second license on a 2nd computer?If you have trouble activating on the new computer you'll have to contact customer support. They should be able to deactivate the old one on their end.

Sun Cluster 3.2, Zones, HA-Oracle, & FSS
I have a customer who wants to deploy a cluster utilizing Solaris 10 Zones. With creating the resource groups with the following: nodeA:zoneA, nodeB:zoneA, the Oracle resource group will be contained in the respective zone.
First create the Zone after the Sun Cluster software has been installed?
When installing Oracle, the binaries and such should reside in the Zone or in the global zone?
When configuring FSS, should this be done after the resources have been configured?

RyanThe Oracle biaries are not big at all, ther is not much IO happening at this fs, you can easily create a ufs file system for each zone, mount that via lofs mounts into the zone. Or you can create a zpool for the binaries. My personal take would be to include them in the root path of the zones an you are set.
You must install the binaries in all zones where your Oracle database can fail over to. To reduce the maintenance work in the case of upgrades I would limit the binary installation to the zones in the nodelist of your oracle resource group. If you install the binaries on all nodes/zones of the cluster you have more work when it comes to an upgrade.

Sun Cluster, vx mode - "mode: enabled: cluster inactive"
Hi,
I have installed sun cluster 3.2 on solaris 9 (Solaris 9 9/05). I want to make it an active-active setup with shared veritas DGs. This setup also has vxvm 5 (Veritas-5.0_MP1_RP4.4) with rolling pack 4 and solaris has all the latest pathes updated via "updatemanager". The shared storage comes from DMX800.
In order to get VxVM in cluster mode I have installed licenses for CVM, VCS and also ORCLudlm (3.3.4.8 ) package.
The sun cluster install has all the necessary framework packages. But the VX mode refuses to be in cluster mode:
#vxdctl -c mode
mode: enabled: cluster inactive
Issue is udlm daemon "dlmmon" isnt starting.
Also I see the below errors
cacao: Error: Fail to start cacao agent. (instance default)
Error: Fail to start cacao agent. (instance default)
AND messages file on nodeA shows the below error
[ID 988885 daemon.error] libpnm error: can't connect to PNMd on nodeB
I am at my wits end on how to resolve this issue :(

AshishWell it could be the problem I ran into... and I went round and round for ages trying to figure out what was wrong - before I realised my mistake.
Assuming you have VxVM/CVM licensed properly, check that ORCLudlm is installed on all nodes. Then create your rac-framework-rg and ensure you have a rac-framework-rs, rac-udlm-rs AND a rac-cvm-rs resource. Now, unless you have both of these and they can be brought enabled and brought online, then you'll have exactly the problem you are seeing.

VMware ESX + Sun Cluster - is it supported?
Do you know if Sun Cluster installed on top of VMware ESX can be supported by Sun/Oracle?
Do you know what requirements newly installed cluster has to meet in order to satisfy Sun's support contract?

Unless the OS is IDENTICAL on each of the IDENTICAL(HW) servers -- that would share the Oracle home--, you could be in trouble.
The only supported configuration (I know of) where the Oracle binaries are shared between servers is 9i RAC. On 10g RAC the binaries are installed on each server.
Other wise I'd say it's NOT recommended, besides you don't save anything (execpt a cooupl of Gigs disk space).

'CRT not initialized' error after installing MS Office 2010
Hi,
I encountered 'CRT not initialized error' after installing MS Office 2010. I think that with previous version of CVI there were no problems. But, with Labwindows/CVI 2012 error has outbroken. The details are as follows.
- OS : windows 7 Enterprise (32bit)
- Labwindows/CVI (v12.0.0 (422))
- MS Office 2010 (word, powerpoint, excel)
#1. clean install windows 7 (32 bit)
#2. install Labwindows/CVI v12.0.0 and device drivers (DAQ, Motion)
#3. compile and run attached test program : SUCCESS
#4. online update windows 7 (service pack, explorer 9, and etc)
#5. compile and run attached test program : SUCCESS
#6. install MS Office 2010
#7. compile and run attached test program : 'CRT error'
#8. uninstall MS Office 2010
#9. compile and run attached test program : SUCCESS
I think there are some conflicts between office 2010 and labwindows v12.0.0. How can I solve this problem?

test program.zip 3305 KBMore specifically, I decided that some parts of MS Office files and features of NI's motion library conflicts. Because in the attacted sample program, if I exclude NI-Motion functions then the program excutes nicely. But if I include NI-Motion fucntion, for example flex_select_signal, then the 'CRT not initialized' error occurs.
To solve this problem I tried step by step installation check for MS Office 2010. During each step I included more optional features in MS Office and after each installation I compiled and executed my sample program. At finally, I found that the addtional part of MS Office 2010, if I install Office Sharing Function>Microsoft IME(Korean), then the 'CRT not initialized' error occurs.
Temporarly, I solved the problem with NOT installing 'Office Sharing Function>Microsoft IME(Korean)' optional feature in the MS Office 2010.
Could you tell me why this problem occur?
