I tried to bounce the system.
When I executed ./adstpall.sh it took a long time (about 15 mins) and exited with status 1.
You are running adstpall.sh version 120.10
adstpall.sh: Database connection could not be established. Either the database is down or the APPS credentials supplied are wrong.
USAGE: adstpall.sh <appsusername/appspassword>
adstpall.sh: exiting with status 1
But I check from server that the database is up and running.
Please help asap
Thanks,
Rushi

Oracle support has given me two docs

Note 340089.1 New Connections to the Database lead to ORA-12518 or TNS-12518
I do not any ORA-12518 or TNS-12518 errors in the log file entries you posted above. However, please see (ORA-00610 And/Or "unable to spawn jobq slave process " And/Or "Process(<>) creation failed" In The Alert Log And/Or TNS-12518/ TNS-12500 In Listener Log [ID 416244.1]).

  • Control the size of Essbase.log and application log

    Understand that there are many message were written to the Essbase.log and application log. Is there any method to control what kind of message to be written to the log file so as to reduce the IO frequency of the server disk folders?
    Thanks for your help!

    You might want to think about forcing your BSO/ASO PAG & IND/DAT files to go onto a separate drive volume from your base Essbase binaries. This can be tough to do in a SAN environment as it is difficult to know what is truly where.
    Another option would be to use CLEARLOGFILE to reset the logs (this will delete them every time you stop/restart Essbase, so make sure you archive them if you need log history).
    See: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/html_esb_techref/config/clearlogfile.htm
    Yet another would be to set SSLOGUNKNWON to false to cut down on the log.
    See: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/html_esb_techref/config/sslogunknown.htm
    Regards,
    Cameron LackpourThanks! We already separate the log files from the data files but they still in the same hardware server. Yes, in SAN environment we really don't know where it the physical drive.
    Essbase do not have log rotate option like Apache and maybe we should archive the essbase log regularly and clear it up.
    We don't have much unknown member case in our log. Anyway we will investigate the option SSLOGUNKNOWN
    Thanks again!

    we have web based application. Whenever there is critical errors encounters in our application we need to write that errors in to windows

    You should use WinAPI to do so. Asking in JNI forum (or specialized WinAPI forum) for more details is good idea I think.

  • Output log to application log in application server

    Hi Guys,
    I am pretty new on J2EE, I created a web application and deployed it on to the oracle application server. I found out that I can view the log file(application.log) for that particular web application on the application control page. What I want to achieve is outputing some custom log on to the same built-in log file. Could anyone please show me how to do that?
    Thanks advance

    Hi, I figured out that ADF is a oracle's implementation of JSF, I tried above approach it did log to a log.xml in the particular folder. However, I would like to output to a log file that you can actually view in the Enterprise Manager Console...

  • View weblogic server logs and application logs

    Hi All,
    Is there any way to view log files of Weblogic Admin Server, managed server and application logs through OEM console. ( In text editor-- full file / tail -f output)..
    Thanks | Kranthi

    Thanks Rob.
    Even from Weblogic Admin console we cannot view complete log file only some components are shown.
    Just thinking will it be a good idea to execute shell script to view log file from Target-Execute Host Command.

  • Error in Open Dataset. Application server file shows null value .

    Dear Gurus,
    As with my previous problem, I am now getting value from SAP Directory in AL11. But problem is-
    1. When I try to get Quantity or Currency field, it shows runtime error while uploading in App. Server.  So, I used Char data type variable  to store currency field and concatenate these in a string type variable.
    LOOP AT it_mseg INTO wa.
              move it_mseg-erfmg to amount.   " amount is a char type variable.
             CONCATENATE it_mseg-mblnr it_mseg-mjahr it_mseg-matnr amount it_mseg-werks it_mseg-lgort INTO ld_string.
      TRANSFER ld_string to filename.
    But I am getting only 0 for all the records. If I directly transfer wa to filename, it shows values. But when i am passing string, all value shows 0. Plz give me solution.
    Thanks,
    With regards,
    Tripod.

    Hi,
    use
    WRITE it_mseg-erfmg to amount.
    or, assuming that the currency is WW_WAERS,
    WRITE it_mseg-erfmg CURRENCY WW_WAERS to amount.

  • Custom error message in SAP application log

    Is there a way to add a custom error message to the SAP application log without passing the message variables MSGV1, MSGV2, MSGV3, MSGV4 and the Message class and number.
    We want to pass a custom message from the BAPIRET2-MESSAGE without giving it a Message class and number.  The reason for this is that  we are using class based exceptions instead of the traditional message class with errors.  When we catch the class based exception, we take the error text of the exception and put in in the BAPIRET2-message and set the BAPIRET2-TYPE as 'E'.  Now we want to add this to the SAP application log.
    The call to 'BAL_LOG_MSG_ADD' takes a structure BAL_S_MSG which is just like BAPIRET2.  However this function builds the entry to the application log use the message variables MSGV1, MSGV2, MSGV3, MSGV4.  There is no provision to pass in the BAPIRET2 message.
    Add message to application log
      CALL FUNCTION 'BAL_LOG_MSG_ADD'
        EXPORTING
         i_log_handle              = app_log_handle
         i_s_msg                   = log_message
    Thanks,
    Jay

    Hi Jay,
    Did you see <b>BAL_LOG_EXCEPTION_ADD</b>?
    This FM is represented by the structure <b>BAL_S_EXC</b>. This can have various versions as described below:
    <b>Data of BAL_S_EXC Structure  /     Use</b>
    <b>EXCEPTION</b>  /                              Exception class from which an exception text
                                                       is added to the log. This field must be filled.
    <b>MSGTY</b>  /                                     Message type (MSGTY) of a T100 message.
                                                       This field must also be filled for exceptions.
    <b>PROBCLASS,
    DETLEVEL,
    ALSORT, TIME_STMP</b>  /                Message or exception attributes, such as
                                                        problem class (PROBCLASS, for
                                                        example, "very important"), level of detail
                                                        (DETLEVEL, from 1 to 9), sort criterion
                                                        (ALSORT, unrestricted) and timestamp
                                                        (TIME_STMP). These fields can be displayed
                                                        in the log (except TIME_STMP).
    <b>MSG_COUNT</b>   /                            This attribute is not used for exceptions.
    Follow the link below for more details:

  • PrintStackTrace not appearing in application.log?

    We are having a difficult time locating the Stack Traces that we expected to see in the application.log of our J2EE Web Applications. Within our servlets the typical try/catch sequence is something like:
    try {
    // do some stuff that can throw an exception
    } catch(Exception ex) {
    ex.printStackTrace();
    ErrorBean errorBean = new ErrorBean(
    (ex.getMessage()!=null) ? ex.getMessage() : ex.getClass().getName(),
    request.getRequestURI(),ex);
    // Push ErrorBean into request scope for forward to Error Handler
    request.setAttribute(Constants.ERROR_KEY,errorBean);
    return (mapping.findForward("unexpectedError"));
    However, we can't find the output from the ex.printStackTrace() anywhere. It doesn't appear to be laying in the application.log. Any ideas? Is there something we should configure somewhere to send the stacktraces to application.log?
    Arghh....any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Bob

    Ah...yes...they were right where you said they would be. However, is there some configuration that I could do to put the console messages (System.out.println() and, more importantly for us, ex.printStackTrace()) in the global-application.log so we would at least get some concept of the time of the exceptions? As it stands now we can see the actual exceptions in a file named after our OC4J instances (./ora9ias/opmn/logs/camsu.default_island.1) and some logging stuff with Timestamps from the Struts framework in the file the application.xml sends it to(<file path="../log/global-application.log"/>) but it is difficult to match the exceptions up with the servlet requests that caused them due, mainly, to lack of timestamps. Is there a way to get the stuff that presently goes to the opmn/logs file into the global-application.log?
    Regardless, I will definitely follow up the the Log4J stuff. Maybe that's where the magic bullet is. Thanks so much for your reply. This was giving me fits.

  • Eror records written to application log

    Hi all,
                   while i was loading the data from flat file , it is showing any error "Eror records written to application log". and also Internal error [/SAPAPO/OM_TS_TGRID_CREATE ] -- Errors in source system " .
    pls help me..
    what is a  cause

    Hi Leela,
    [/SAPAPO/OM_TS_TGRID_CREATE ]  error is due to the inconsistency with the Data source in Source system, Chk that in your Source System,
    <b>Eror records written to application log</b> : Check the format of the columns in the file , specifically Dates .
    And the log could be seen throguh transaction code SLG1.Analyse the log and find out the cause of issue or more detailed error message.
    Hope that helps.
