SMD installation - Initial Data Collect ERROR
I installed the SMD on several machines already, SP13 and NW2004 are used. When I try to configure the production system, I get this error:
Initial Data Collect ERROR for host sapbp5a0.agfa.be
!! Exception : Thu Jul 17 13:57:39 MEST 2008 | storeHost(...):Host [][sapbp5a0][10.233.9.188][/usr/sap/BP5/]:Cannot insert/update the host '[IHost: key=1216295859558156, hostName=sapbp5a0, hostFullQualifiedName=, serverName=sapbp5a0, ip=10.233.9.188, agentHostName=sapbp5a0, agentFullQualifiedName=sapbp5a0.agfa.be, agentIp=10.233.9.188, path=/usr/sap/BP5/, pathName=null, SmStatus=U, creation=Thu Jul 17 13:57:39 MEST 2008]'! Please see log for next error(s).
We (I) know we need to input the hostFullQualifiedName somewhere, but we cannot find the place to put it. Can anyone please give us a clue to where we need to put this?Hi, thank you for the input, but I think I gave too little information. Let me elaborate:
The monitoring system we are using is YP5, the monitored system is BP5. On BP5 is where the problem is situated. I installed the SMD according to the SAP specs and now I am at the end of the installation, just before installing the Wily.
I log on via http://sapyp5a0.agfa.be:55100/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcsmdnavigation/SmdNavigation to setup the final things (collection of data and so on, running Wily, ...) and this is where I get the error, after I entered all the correct information.
We checked the SLD settings in ABAP and everything is connecting as it should.
Anyone has any more ideas where we could look?

Standard Data Collection Failing with Error ORA-04054: database link does not exist.
Hi Gurus,
When I am running Standard Data Collection in ASCP(APS) instance R12.1.3, its failing with error : ORA-04054: database link does not exist.
There is no such Database link exits which is showing in above error.
Also the database link name in the above error is not profile values in the database.
I think, concurrent might be fetching this database link name from some tables related to plan.
I am not having much knowledge about how this ASCP/APS works.
Need your help to resolve this issue.
Thanks,Hi,
ASCP Collections looks at the dblink from instances definitions from.

For your information, I launched "Create Planning flexfields" in source Instance. But this Issue is not yet resolved

Regards,
RameshDear Shiva / Experts,
I completed the Actions
1. Recompiling the System Item Flexfields - In Source Instance.
3. Refresh Collection Snapshots with Complete Mode - In Source Instance
4) Then I tried Planning ODS Load before Data Collection (Why I launched ODS load manually is, Data collection is getting error with recommending ODS Load).
But I am getting the same old below ERROR MESSAGE.
5) Then I tried Action plan 2 (we found one item having null value in Segment1 and we given one value and committed), then I did Actions 1, 3 and 4. But I am getting the same old Error message.
6) After completing the Actions 1 to 5, I am in same old status.
Please suggest me
Your answer will be most Appreciable
Regards,
Ramesh
Action point 2 is
Select count(*) FROM MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_B where SEGMENT1 is NULL;
Solution
1. Confirm that the Item Staging Table does indeed have values in the Item_Name
column for all rows (in this case they did)
2. Confirm that the mtl_system_items_b table has null Segmen1 values
select * from apps.MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_B where segment1 is null;
3. Populate the missing values for SEGMENT1:
Note that we don't think it will be possible for you to edit this field, that
represents Segment1, directly in the Item Master so you will need to do it using
this SQL statement:
UPDATE mtl_system_items_b
SET segment1 = &segment1
WHERE inventory_item_id = &itemid ;
commit;
Please make sure that SEGMENT1 value that you provide in the above script is
unique i.e. does not already exist.

All of the system data collection sets have been running for 6+ months without any issues, couple of weeks ago the 'Server Activity' collection set failed to restart after a planned maintenance server reboot.
When attempting to manually start the collection set it indicates "success", but after refreshing the collection set it showing as stopped. Viewing the logs for the Data Collection (Server Activity) I am getting the message:
Waiting on a kernel object(s) failed. Inner Error ------------------>
The handle is invalid.
After some research into this really unhelpful message I came across one posting where this error has been found to occur in SP1. We are running SP2 which include the fix so this shouldn't be the problem (ref http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/585210/sql-server-2008-data-collection-execmasterpackage-timeout).
To see more detail on the root cause of the error I enabled the additional tracing for data collection (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqlagent/archive/2011/07/13/enabling-additional-tracing-for-data-collector.aspx). This provided an exception stack which indicated
that the issue was thrown to what looks like an existing file, referring to a location (e:\) which doesn't exist in our system.

I am now stumped as I haven't found anyone else experiencing this issue.
Any ideas, please help??Thanks for the pointer Eileen, problem solved.
Can't believe I missed it, but after reading the last section on system hangs it occurred to me that I hadn't checked that all dcexec.exe processes were killed when I disable the data collection service.
For anyone else experiencing this issue I identified the dcexec.exe processes using the following in cmd line:
TASKLIST /SVC /FI "IMAGENAME EQ DCEXEC.EXE"
On the default setup of the data collection there should be two dcexec.exe processes constantly running, one for "Server Activity" and another for "Query Statistics". On our server there were five running with the data collection disabled.
After killing all of the processes and restarting the data collection problem solved!!
Still need to understand why the processes didn't shut down cleanly when the server was restarted, but at least I know where to look now. -
Data Collection -- Planning Data Pull process failed
Hello Experts,
I am having a problem with data collection, the result of Planning Data Pull was completed error. It seems the problem is on the Planning Data Pull Worker.
I am using 2 worker to run Planning Data Pull, and both result was errors. Below are some of the errors log:

Help me please.
Thanks & Regards,
AndiThis error shows up when it cannot find any organizations.
Use the sqls below to identify this
1. select MSC_CL_PULL.get_org_str(&instance_id) from dual ;
2. select instance_code, instance_id from msc.msc_apps_instances where instance_code='&instance_code'
3. select * from apps.msc_instance_orgs where sr_instance_id= &instanc_id
sql 1 should in principle return the orgs available. If this returns null or -9999, then it's an orgs problem
sql 3 will show the available orgs.
If the organizations are enabled for planning in the ASCP instances form, then run a targeted refresh for trading partners (suppliers/customers/orgs). If this works with no errors, then look at the table msc_trading_partners. It should contain records for the orgs with partner_type = 3 -

Please help.
Thanks,
Rubellah RajakumarHi Rubellah,
Is your setup 'centralized' or 'decentralized'? If you are using a decentralized setup, then you should ensure that you have applied Collections Cumulative Update 5 (CU5) patch to BOTH source and destination instances. The patch number is 7361861. Once the patch is applied, set the profile option MSC: Source Setup Required to Yes on the source instance and run a 'Complete Refresh' Data Collections. This should cause all of the objects on the source instance to be dropped and recreated. If this does not resolve the issue, the I would suggest logging an SR with Oracle Support.
Thanks,

If you can provide any information as to what to look for, please reply.history.log may be corrupted. If you run it through ccat to flatten it does it show any recent (i.e. newer than 6 days) entries?
If ccat gives errors then just move it out of the way (i.e. rename it to history.log.busted) and restart your Agent. A fresh log will be created. Give it a couple hours to make a couple flushes of data to your SunMC Server and see if PRM works.

Mike

Hi,
I'm using BCS 4.0. I'm working now in final testing and I have some question regarding to the data collection process using load from data stream method. I ran the task in consolidation monitor for 007.2007 period and for all companies without any error or warnings, but we have differences in financial information for that period.
I reviewed the content in my BCS cube (RSA1) and we don't have any data for that accounts, the only thing that I found was that all docs were created on same date
I deleted the ID request in RSA1in my BCS cube and I executed task again in consolidation monitor, but the result was the same.
Looking at log / source data, in the rows listed, these data is not taking from the infoprovider
Any idea which could be the problem ?
Thanks
NayeliHi Nayeli,
I had to do this kind of job (reconciliation of data in the source basis cube and the totals cube) during the final testing a lot of times, with an accountant.
The only way to have the first clue what is happening is to compare every particular amount s in both cubes. Comparing and trying to figure out any dependencies in data.
The difference might arise because of ANY reason. Only you may analyze the data and decide what to do.
AFAIU, you compared only reported data and did no currency translation and eliminations?
Then, I'm afraid that you've made a very big mistake deleting the request from the totals cube. You have broken the consistency between totals and document data. For a transactional cube the request is yellow until the number of records in it reach 50000 records. Then it is closed and become green. As you may understand, in those 50000 records maybe contained a lot of data for different posting periods, for example, reported data for the previous closed period. Though, documents still contain eliminations for that period. - Inconsistency. -
IDoc Monitoring: Data collection not getting completed
Hi,
I have setup IDoc monitoring in Solution Manager 7.1 SP08 for managed systems which is on ST-A/PI 01Q. There are many IDoc being generated in the managed system but I am not getting any alert for it.
In the alert inbox I get the message that the data collection has not yet taken place since the last activation. and the last data collection time is shown as of 2009.
Also in the managed system the BPMon background job BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_2 get cancelled with run time error TSV_TNEW_BLOCKS_NO_ROLL_MEMMORY
What can be the issue?
Regards
VishalHi Vishal,
Please check and implement below notes to fix the first issue:
