    Subject: FATAL ERROR IN TWO-TASK SERVER: error = 12571 Found in Alert File
    Doc ID: Note:164839.1 Type: PROBLEM
    Last Revision Date: 17-DEC-2007 Status: PUBLISHED
    fact: Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition
    symptom: Errors appear in alert file
    symptom: FATAL ERROR IN TWO-TASK SERVER:
    symptom: ERROR = 12571
    symptom: trace file generated
    symptom: Database operations continue successfully
    cause: The most common cause for the above error is an ungraceful
    disconnection of a session from the oracle db while the db is currently running
    a dml statement issued by that session. The error is recorded when oracle
    attempts to reply back to the session with the results of the dml and cannot
    access the session. Overall database operations are usually not affected.
    An ungraceful disconnection could cause by but is not limited to any of the
    following:
    - the client machine crashed
    - the network connection crashed
    - the user exited the session improperly (not issuing the 'exit' command)
    - the user application allows the user to exit the application without properly
    terminating the session.
    The above can cause problems with corrupted rollback segments if occurring on a
    regular basis and is not addressed. This would require db recovery and
    possibly a db rebuild (not a light matter)
    PMON will usually rollback most transactions in the rollback segments for a
    session if it finds that the session has been ungracefully disconnected, but
    there is always a chance that it cannot and this will lead to rollback segment
    corruption.
    fix:
    The dml and the user that issued the dml can be determined from the trace file.
    The current dml is in the tracefile header section. The user can be found in
    the process state dump of the trace. The process state shows the machine,
    o/suser, and user for the session.
    The DBA can use this information to determine what the user was doing at the
    time and if there was an ungraceful exit from the session the user was
    utilizing.
    The DBA should then address the cause of the ungraceful exit to reduce the
    possibility of recurrence.

    SIMPLE_SQL_NAME
    The SIMPLE_SQL_NAME function checks the input string conforms to the basic characteristics of a simple SQL name:
    The first character of the name is alphabetic.
    The name only contains alphanumeric characters or the "_", "$", "#"
    Quoted names must be enclosed by double quotes and may contain any characters, including quotes provided they are represented by two quotes in a row ("").
    The function ignores leading and trailing white spaces are ignored
    The length of the input string is not validated.

    ichat can't connect to my AIM account, gives me the error "Cannot log in to AIM. General error. Try again." Please help!

    HI,
    Your specs say OS X 10.6.8 which would be iChat 5.x.x in Snow Leopard.
    This version by default tries to login in to the AIM server called login.oscar.aol.com on port 5190 using the TCP protocol.
    An internet connection is made up of 65535 of these so called ports (more like TV stations)
    Most routers have ports up to port 1024 which means some of the iChat Login Ports are above this.
    Two ways to Solve this.
    1) Change the Login port iChat uses
    2) Change the way the router opens ports.
    For 1) go to iChat Menu > Preferences > Accounts
    Highlight/select the AIM account.
    In the Info Tab deselect the "Enable this Account" to make sure you are Logged out.
    In the Server Settings change the Port to 443
    You can decide not to use SSL as well if you wish  (the server name automatically loses the leading "s")
    For 2) log in to the routers set up pages and make sure it is doing UPnP
    This allows the computers  to tell the router which ports to open. It also allows multiple devices to use the same ports.
    For iChat this allows it to Screen Share as this happens on an unlisted random port.
    Opps  forgot a couple of things.
    If you are using an APple ID registed at Apple ending in @mac.com @me.com or @iCloud.com then the passowrd at Apple has to be 16 characters or less to work with the AIM servers.
    Additionally the iCloud issued @me.com and @iCloud.com one require you to use iChat 6 in Lion or Messages in Mountian Lion due to changes Apple made to the security of letting AIM "read" the passwords.

  • Error in Standby alert log continuously

    After I setup the Physical Standby and Logical Standby database, I found lots of errors showing in alert log of Standby database.
    LOGMINER: Error 308 encountered, failed to read missing logfile /u01/oradata/arch2/primary/1_1_111111111.dbf
    According to the doc, I set the values LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_3 in case of role transition:
    (for primary)
    LOCATION=/u01/oradata/arch2/primary/ VALID_FOR=(STANDBY_LOGFILES,STANDBY_ROLE) DB_UNIQUE_NAME=primary(for standby)
    LOCATION=/u01/oradata/arch2/standby/ VALID_FOR=(STANDBY_LOGFILES,STANDBY_ROLE) DB_UNIQUE_NAME=standbyWhen I run this command, the error keeps showing in the alert log continuously! Why does it look for the path "primary", but not "standby" ?
    ALTER DATABASE START LOGICAL STANDBY APPLY IMMEDIATE;
    Help! Does anyone know the problem? All new data can't be found in the logical standby now.
    Thank you!

    When I enable the LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_STATE_3, the errors show in alert log again!
    LOGMINER: Error 308 encountered, failed to read missing logfile /u01/oradata/arch2/primary/1_1_111111111.dbf
    SELECT TYPE,STATUS FROM V$LOGSTDBY;
    COORDINATOR
    ORA-01291: missing logfile
    here are my parameters:
    Primary:
    LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1='LOCATION=/u01/oradata/arch/ MANDATORY VALID_FOR=(ALL_LOGFILES,ALL_ROLES) DB_UNIQUE_NAME=primary'
    LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2='SERVICE=ORCL_SB LGWR ASYNC VALID_FOR=(ONLINE_LOGFILES,PRIMARY_ROLE) DB_UNIQUE_NAME=standby'
    LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_3='LOCATION=/u01/oradata/arch2/primary/ VALID_FOR=(STANDBY_LOGFILES,STANDBY_ROLE) DB_UNIQUE_NAME=primary'
    Standby:
    LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1='LOCATION=/u01/oradata/arch/ MANDATORY VALID_FOR=(ONLINE_LOGFILES,ALL_ROLES) DB_UNIQUE_NAME=standby'
    LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2='SERVICE=ORCL_PRI LGWR ASYNC VALID_FOR=(ONLINE_LOGFILES,PRIMARY_ROLE) DB_UNIQUE_NAME=primary'
    LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_3='LOCATION=/u01/oradata/arch2/standby/ VALID_FOR=(STANDBY_LOGFILES,STANDBY_ROLE) DB_UNIQUE_NAME=standby'
    Why does the path in primary parameter file show in standby alert log??

  • Error in the alert Log

    Hi There,
    Recently I started seeing these errors in the alert log for one of the databases:
    Tue Aug 04 05:05:00 2009
    Errors in file c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\xxxxxx\bdump\xxxxxx_j000_6104.trc:
    ORA-12012: error on auto execute of job 130961
    ORA-27370: job slave failed to launch a job of type EXECUTABLE
    ORA-27300: OS system dependent operation:accessing execution agent failed with status: 109
    ORA-27301: OS failure message: The pipe has been ended.
    ORA-27302: failure occurred at: sjsec 9
    ORA-27303: additional information: The pipe has been ended.
    So, I tried looking at the trace file associated with the error, and here is what I get:
    $ cat ebcd01_j000_6104.trc
    Dump file c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\xxxxxx\bdump\xxxxxx_j000_6104.trc

    I'm not sure what job is causing this as there is no reference and also not sure how to resolve this issue!! How can I properly trace back these errors? Any ideas or tips to what should I do?
    I'm running 10.2.0.3 database on windows 2003 server.
    Thanks

    I found the problem.. the executable job was referring to a none existing batch file..
    I have refreshed the database from production some time ago and the jobs I have setup are referring to production scripts and paths (which we didnt have on dev)..
    This is now resolved.
    Thanks
