Errors in Photoshop startup

I downloaded the PS 2014 2 days ago and it worked fine after installation. The next day it would not start up, I get a system error that 'photoshop has stopped working'. I searched the forums and the advice was to go to the 'edit' menu and adjust preferences, but I cant get to the edit menu because it wont start up. I went in and deleted the preference file and that worked, I got into PS fine that evening. Next day same error message and it failed in startup. The preference file had already been deleted, its not there. Then I updated my Windows to 8.1 and I am now getting an error message of a .dll file is missing on my computer. After researching that I used a .dll fixer to install the file, that didn't work. I found the .dll file online, unzipped the file, pasted into the Syste 32 folder and that still didn't work.
Can someone please help me. I am in the middle of a large project that I have a deadline for. I really need to be able to access the product.

Error installing Photoshop CS6 (Design and Web Premium)

A similar error occurs if I try to install all of CS6.. I've had Revo Uninstaller delete all the registry keys/leftover files and tried reinstalling.. I've tried installing MS Visual C++ 2010 independently of the install. No dice. I have homework due tomorrow (of course) and my photoshop broke.. And will not install now..

Download error for Photoshop Elements 11

I am trying to download Photoshop Elements 11 and keep getting an error that my browser is "out of date/IE4 or earlier" but I currently have Internet Explorer 10 on my computer. Why have I gotten this error about 10 times. I have also downloaded the most current Adobe Reader and Flash Player which has not made a difference.

Slow Photoshop Startup after installing Google Nik Plugins

Today, I got the Google Nik Collection of plugins for photoshop and since the installation the photoshop startup has been really slow. I am running Adobe Photoshop CC 2014. It usually tooToday, I got the Google Nik Collection of plugins for photoshop and since the installation the photoshop startup has been really slow. I am running Adobe Photoshop CC 2014. It usually took about 1-3 seconds to load, but since having installed the plugins it takes 40-50 seconds which is really annoying, All the plugins including the Nik ones work fine. I ahve the Nik Silver Efex Pro 2 and Nik Color Efex 4. In the splash screen it takes a good 10-15 seconds for it to pass both "starting up plugins....Nik Silver Efex Pro/Color Efex Pro". I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I have 8GB RAM, AMD FX-6300 SIX CORE PROCESSOR, Nvidia GTX 750 Ti graphics card. Please help me....

In all seriousness, have you tried removing the plug-ins, ensuring your startup performance is restored, then adding them back one by one to see which it is that causes the problems?
While I don't know those plug-ins in particular, I don't think there's any reason they should slow Photoshop's startup down that much. Are they listed as Photoshop CC 2014-compatible?

What do I do?

Which version of photoshop and operating system are you using?
The reason i ask, even though you wrote cs6, is the camera raw 6.7 update is for photoshop cs5.
Did you try Help>Updates from within photoshop to get the most recent version of camera raw, which is 8.7 for photoshop cs6?

Strange system log error from Photoshop CS4

Hi.
I keep getting this strange system log error from Photoshop CS4.
It comes after a wile when using PS CS4.
I tried to chance the memory settings and scratch disc to see if that helped. It didn't.
I also checked all my ram for anything bad. 16GB in my Mac Pro Intel OS X 10.5.6
Everything is updated to latest included Adobe apps.

Sounds like it did not install correctly. Uninstall, then reinstall. If that does not help, use the Adobe CC cleaner. It will remove all traces of your Adobe programs. Then do a normal install. If it still is not working, let us know.

Ian the link to the document is still working for me. Basically though the document asks you to download the update directly from our product update page at http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates. If you continue to face difficulties or the update is not available then it will be necessary to review the installation log files for that update to see why it is failing.

Cannot open : Error 2 Photoshop is Undefined

When I try to open Bridge from Photoshop CS5, I get the message:

Guess a little sleepy when I posted. You need to hold down the ctrl key and start
Bridge. Some users have to click on Bridge
icon and then IMMEDIATELY hold down the Crtl key. Should get a
reset window.
The icon I am talking about is the desktop shortcut icon to open Bridge.

Multiple errors in photoshop

I just recently have been getting multiple errors in photoshop CS5 64bit.
When loading a large file while another file is open I have gotten and error: "not enough space" or "not enough scratch disk space" this does not happen often.
When using the liquify function I can only perform a few brush strokes before I will get an error: "not enough space" or "not enough scratch disk space" The same error will repeatedly occur, then say on another file it will display a the other error repeatedly.
On another larger file with about 17 or so layers. It would not fully render the tint color that I had chosen, but if you look at the photo I am currently working on through Lightroom it will show the tint. Same file, using a layer mask while painting in some color I got the "not enough scratch disk space" error and could not continue to work on the file. THEN I could not save the file, I got an error "Not enough memory". The only way to get it to save was to resize the document down by 1000px, which means I can no longer print as large as I would have liked. It takes about 5 to 7 minutes to save the file, using .psd file type. While viewing task manager under the performance tab it was only using about 5.5gb of ram when I have 8gb and I also told photoshop to use 85% of my ram and utilize 2 scratch disks. By the time I finished the photo I had to resize it down by 2500px just so I could get it to save.
I have tried to clear my computers temp files, while in there I did not see any photoshop temp files, which there should be because photoshop tends to crash sometimes while i am closing it. I have defraged both my drives scanned for viruses and all that and nothing has improved.
This problem just started recently, I have changed nothing when it comes to file sizes and the way I edit my photos. These .psd files range from 1GB to 2GB.
I have 2 scratch disks set for photoshop and to use 85% of my ram.
Computer: Windows Vista 64bit 8GB RAM 3.4GH quad core processor.
Does anyone know of anything that could possibly help me? It would be GREATLY appreciated!!

anyone have any ideas why I am getting these errors?

When I turn on my computer I get the following error messages: Insecure Startup Item disabled. "Library/StartupItems/HP IO" has not been started because it does not have the proper security settings. Also for HP Trap Monitor. How do I fix these?

Library/StartupItems: HP IO folder - HP IO, Resources, StartupParameters.plist
HP Trap Monitor folder - HP Trap Monitor, Resources, StartupParameters.plist

I do not know what any of these do or how to fix them. I have run multiple disk permission repairs & disk repairs. The startup & system extension errors continue to come up.
I even followed the directions to move HP IO & HP Trap Monitor to the trash, run disk permissions repair, put back in folder, then restart - and still am getting error message.

When I render the animated menu, this message appears: "error with Photoshop file -1".
So I can't burn any DVDs with animated menus.
What can I do?

The workaround was not to left-click on the menu. Use right click, or other options and menu commands.
