Errors in Support Assistant - 5.5.1.0 Build 1828479

Running 5.5.1.0 Build 1828479
When I click on the monitor tab to see the proactive support uploads status, all I see are errors.  When you hover the mouse over the status it says:
cannot establish connection to vmware hosted services, please check the logs for details
I don't know what logs or where to look.  Anyone else with this error?  What can I do to fix?
Other than this, the other features of the plugin seem to work fine.  I am able to view and create support cases as well as upload logs to cases.

Check the log at /storage/log/phonehome/phonehome.log in your appliance.

  • Cannot install HP support assistant after upgrading to windows 7 error 1316

After upgrading to Win 7 from Vista I am unable to install the HP support assistant.  First I get this error:  Error 1316 The specified account already exists.  After clicking OK I get the following error msg:  Error: -1603  Fatal error during installation.  Consult windows installer help (MSI CHM) or MSN for more info.  This is then followed up with the following msg:  HP support assistant not installed successfully.  An error occurred during the installation: -3  Then it rolls back the installation and will not install.  HP support assistant was working under Vista.

Did you first go to the Control Panel and make sure that the HP Support Assistant software was not listed (uninstalled)?

  • HP Support Assistant (Win 7 x64): Error 1316 on update/install

HP Support Assistant was running and downloaded an update for itself, which doesn't install properly. I am left with shortcuts that no longer work - HSPA.exe is missing.
I went direct to HP site, downloaded HSPA latest version, and tried to install.
I get toward the end of the instal...
    Then get this error:
    Then HSPA unintalls itself...
Then I get a final Windows error:
I have tried a System Restore, but it doesn't work (no restore point early enough).
Can you help me fix this problem?
(Unlike some other posts, I really LIKE HSPA and want to keep using it.)
I am using Win 7 Ultimate x64 on an Envy 1104-tx.
    Please help!!

Unfortunately, it doesn't fix the problem because now it won't install via Control Panel:
I select the HPSA and ask to uninstall:
I get the message that it's preparing to remove...
Then it "crashes" with the same error as before:
Now what should I do? I would really like to get HPSA working again.

  • How to disable HP Support Assistant error page in Internet Explorer

I'm trying to see the actual cause for an error in Internet Explorer.  I know that you can uncheck "Show friendly HTTP messages" to remove the Microsoft "simple" error pages, but that doesn't seem to remove the HP Support Assistant error page.  How can I disable this "help"?

    Hi Patrick,
I've created that example a couple of times and I've never seen this error.
Have you checked the service marketplace for any notes regarding your SP-level?
Other than that you should check the created layout in your view again. Check that you don't have a action defined in the handler "onEnter" in the input fields. According to the tutorial you should only have a action for the button UI element.
Maybe try to create the view from scratch.

  • Hp Support Assistant error 1605

    Hello,the problem is the following:
    - I have installed the HP Support Assistant v 7.0
    - Upon installation, Assistant stopped working.
    - Every time I try to launch the Assistant, it stops working and shuts down (the software has stopped working, checking online for solutions...)
    - I have, then, downloaded the latest HP Support Assistant from the "Get drivers, software, firmwork" section for my laptop support (sp68201, 35.9 MB)
    - I have proceeded to install the latest HP Support Assistant.
    - At the start of installation, I got the 1605 error
    - I have uninstalled HP Support Assistant with the Microsoft FixIt tool (from another post here at the forum for install/uninstall)- I have successfully uninstalled HP Support Assistant and deleted all remains of it (Support Framework folder in (x86) of Hawlett Packard folder)- I have then went on to install it again (the latest HP SA)- Same error, couldn't install- I have downloaded the 4.1.11.3 version of HP SA- That version downloaded and installed successfully.- I launched 4.1.11.3 and everything worked fine- I then proceeded to install latest version of HP SA- It uninstalled 4.1.11.3 and went on to install the softpaq- Again the same error 1605Solutions tried:
-Microsoft fixit-Run as administrator-try to delete all the remains of HP SA (can't tell for sure cause of the registry...)-tried to install latest over the existing (4.1.11.3) and a fresh install (without having any HP SA version installed)-error 1605Please help.Probook 470 G2, M255, 4210U 1.7GHz, BIOS latest version (1.12revA if I'm not mistaken).
Furthermore, why does my laptop shutdown everytime I close the lid. Even if I put it to sleep before closing the lid, it will still shutdown and take long to power back up. However, if I shut it down normally, it boots up fast. Whatever I do, it will shutdown. I have checked all the power options, everything is on sleep (what closing the lid does, change when computer goes to sleep....it's on high performance power plan).

  • Support assistant unknown error

I need to contact technical support about a boot problem I'm having with a new Envy 700.  Using Support Assistant, I complete the form to contact tech support by filling in my contact info and description of the problem,  But when I submit it, a popup says that an unknown error has occured.  Is there any other way to get to tech support by phone or email???
None of the links I've tried (dozens, it seems) will connect me to either phone or chat or direct email to tech support.

    Hi,
    Try the following
First of all, uninstall your current version of HP Support Assistant by using the Microsoft 'Fixit' on the following link - this is particularly useful in correcting issues that may prevent reinstallation on machines running a 64bit OS.
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
When this has completed, restart the PC.
Next download and install the latest version of HP Support Assistant from the page on the link below - the download links are towards the bottom of the page.
    http://h18021.www1.hp.com/helpandsupport/hp-support-assistant.html
After the installation, restart the PC again.

For some unknown reason, HP Support Assistant has stopped working. I noticed that the large taskbar icon was gone.
I tried to run the program just out of curiousity. "HP Support Assistant has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly ..." etc. This is reproduceable. The program will not start.
So, I tried to uninstall it from Control Panel. It appears to start to uninstall, but then I get an error message. "Error 1316 A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file C:\windows\Installer\HP Support Assistant.msi" When I click "OK" it rolls back. This is also reproduceable.
I have tried downloading the software again from HP: sp64126.exe I accept the license agreement and proceed. I get a message that files already exist and do I want to overwrite them all or not. INo matter what I choose, nothing happens. The installation window simply disappears and I am back to square one.

  • HP Support Assistant is no longer working

HP Support Assistant is no longer working
It appears just before and after upgrade to windows 8.1
If you try to uninstall (in order to reinstall) you get Error 1316.
I noticed many HP users have the same problem that after upgrade to Windows 8.1 HP Support Assistant is not working anymore
I expect from HP a new installer that solves the problem, otherwise the service of HP means nothing!

hi there, mine is doing the exact same thing. I hope they get this problem fixed, it hasn't worked for a long time now.

  • I keep getting a (false) notification from HP Support Assistant: low disk space on C drive?

Hi, this morning upon starting up my computer the magnifying glass was hovering over the HP Support Assistant icon and usually that means it is checking for updates etc... but I noticed it turned into a yellow exclamation mark so I clicked on it and opened up HP Support Assistant. The exclamation mark was now in the "updates and tune-ups" and said there were "recommended messages available." Upon clicking this the exclamation is now on the HP messages tab and upon clicking that I am taken to a notification that says: "Low Disk Space on Primary Drive C:" So I click on it to find out more information and it says that I am running out of free disk space on my C drive and that I need to perform a disk cleanup etc...
I went to My Computer to see just how in jeopardy I was in of running out of space on my C drive. To my amazement it stated that I still had 1.27 TB of 1.35 TB available and have only used 6% of my space...
I tried emptying my recycle bin, clearing my cache, doing an actual disk cleanup, and restarting to no avail, the magnifying glass comes back after restart and the notification returns telling me that I am low on disk space in the C drive...
I have come to the conclusion that this must be a false notification but I have no idea how to get rid of it...it isn't a huge issue as it doesn't impair my usage on the computer, however, it is kind of annoying to keep seeing this notification...
Is there any way to get rid of this notification?

    Hello @blackrosevain,

  • Incorrect Low Disk Space Warning from HP Support Assistant

I have an HP Envy m7 notebook. I am getting a warning from the HP Support Assistant that the Primary Drive C:  has low disk space. However, my Windows 8.1 Properties box for the C: drive says more that 90% of the drive is free, as I guessed. Why am I getting this seemingly incorrect warning?

    Hi sheryltoo,
Thank you for your query, I will do my best to assist you.
I understand the HP support assistant is giving you a low disk space error, but you have plenty of free space available.
Did the error pertain to a different drive letter other then you main drive?
I suggest you uninstall and reinstall the  The HP Support Assistant.  If you have an older versions installed that may be why you are getting a false error.
Please let me know the outcome.
