Errors Installing on Windows Vista
It looked like Flex Builder 3 installed correctly on my new
Windows Vista machine, but then I go to run the program (Adobe Flex
Builder 3) as an administrator, see the black splash screen come
up, but then receive the following message:
FlexBuilder [title]
An error has occurred. See the log file
C:\Users\My User Name\My Documents\Flex Builder
Moxie\.metadata\.log
Then in that log file, (very full of errors), the top-most
lines are the following:

Might this have something to do with Windows Vista's file
security that makes you authorize every little file manipulation or
directory change? I'm just basing this theory on the first 2 errors
in the log file:
1 - !MESSAGE Cannot backup current configuration
2 - !MESSAGE Could not rename configuration temp file
Thanks! Can't wait to get it working.

Nevermind, I'm a moron. Right at the end of the Flex Builder
3 install, it specifically says to open Flex for the first time as
an administrator (right click the Flex application icon and choose
Run As Administrator). Duh. Sorry.

Adobe Reader V9.0 will not install on Windows Vista Ultimate SP1
I have Windows Vista Ultimate Build 6001 and tried to install adobe reader V9.0. The download was fine but when I run the program (AdbeRdr90_en_US.exe) it returns the error:
"NOSSO (R) has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available
Close program"
So I guess my questions are
1. Is there a version of adobe reader that will install on windows vista ultimate SP1?
or
2. Is there another pdf reader that will work with Vista Ultimate SP1?
Thanks for any and all assistance!!
MarkI am getting the exact same error:
I have a brand new HP xw8600 systems with 64 bit Vista Ultimate installed.
Via google I found a suggestion to turn on user account control.
I went to control panel > User Account > Turn User Account Control
checked the box and restarted the system. I ran the install as the administrator. It was a minor improvement. Instead of the error coming up immediately like it was, I got the OS confirmation asking if I wanted to install the program. I got the failure right have selecting "yes"
Running out of clues... any help? -
SapSprint not getting installed in Windows Vista
Hi All,
We have SAP Front End installed in Windows Vista. We removed Saplpd.exe from the Vista machine & tried to install sapSprint (xsprint.exe). But we get the following error during installation & installation is halted:
"SAP Front-End setup has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program & notify you if a solution is availabe"
If anybody knows how to install sapSprint in Vista machine please let me know.
Thanks in Advance,
ShainaHi,
Here is the sapsetup.log: It says "Failed to load sapfeikr.dll" - Sap Front End Installation Kernel.
Here the OS type is not recognized by the application. (It is Win Vista OS). In other OS like XP & 2K it is able to identify. Is SapSprint not compatible with Vista OS?

Trying to download itunes onto PC installed with windows vista. Download keeps getting to 99% with 1 second remaining and then freezes / does nothing? Any help appreciated.
I solved the problem! The updates orignally were downloaded to the C: drive of the server. I've since moved them to the E: drive and for some reason the Content folder in IIS didn't change the file path to the new WSUScontent folder.
The root cause for this was failing to use the UTILITY designed for this very purpose.
I edited the virtual directory settings in IIS and was able to put the correct path in.
You still need to use the UTILITY.. to fix all the other stuff you're still missing.
In the %ProgramFiles%\Update Services\Tools folder...
WSUSUTIL MOVECONTENT E:\WSUS E:\WSUS\MoveContent.LOG -SKIPCOPY
This problem was caused by moving the WSUS updates to a different local drive.
No. This problem was caused by IMPROPERLY moving the WSUS updates to a different local drive.

Oracle 10g install on Windows Vista Ultimate
Basic question on whether Oracle 10g can be installed on Windows Vista Ultimate. Any link suggesting the same will be appreciated.
Regards,
KazI have installed Oracle Database 10gR2 Enterprise Edition on Vista Business Premium and run it with no issues.
Suggestion is to download the 'for Vista' version (http://download.oracle.com) and read the install manual (http://tahiti.oracle.com) before installing. The read the Platform Guide for Windows to follow-up management techniques. -
Did a fresh install of Windows Vista and Premiere CS5 and now Premiere is buggy!
Hi everyone. I was using Premiere Pro CS5 on my quad core system editing AVCHD clips just fine and then I had to do a fresh install of Windows Vista Home Premium. I then did a fresh install of Premiere Pro CS5 on a separate hard drive and opened up one of my AVCHD projects. Now, for some reason, the same AVCHD projects that played fine before are now jittery and also show blocky artifacts. The jitter seems to be a constant jitter every second and the blocky artifacts seem to happen mostly when the subject in the clip is moving. I know the problem isn't in the original clip from my GH-1 camera because if I play the original clip that is on my hard drive, it plays just fine so, it has to be Premiere CS5 that is causing the clips to play all jerky on the timeline. Can someone please help me solve this problem? One more thing, when I reinstalled Premiere CS5, I installed the latest update from Adobe. I didn't have that update installed before when the clips played fine. Could that update be the culprit? Thanks.
My clips were recorded using a Panasonic GH1 HDSLR camera and are 1080/24p (progressive).
KarizmaAs far as I know, you thought wrong
My 3 hard drives are configured as...
1 - 320G WD Win7 and all programs
2 - 320G WD Win7 swap file and PPro projects

Problem installing on Windows Vista?
I have the package for adobe photoshop elements 9 and premier pro 9 and can't get photoshop to install. When I place the disc in my computer auto start comes up with options for viewing pictures in different programs but there isn't anything saying "install" or "run" the software. I then went into explorer to view the folders in the disc but i still can't get the installation process to start. Does it matter that I installed premier before photoshop? I don't think It''s a space issue because I should have enough. Help would be much appreciated thanks.
Sorry for the late reply, and thank you for posting your advice so quickly. However, I tried looking for "setup.exe" or something similar but can't seem to find one at all, and I searched through all the folders. Is it possible there is something wrong with the disc? Or should I download a trial version online and use the code on the back of my package to access the full product instead?

Subject: Problem installing on Windows Vista?
Try looking inside the "Adobe Photoshop Elements 9" folder and double click on Setup.exe to launch the install.

ITunes won't install on Windows Vista 64-bit : Error Message
I got my dad an iPod Mini for Christmas. I've been trying to install iTunes onto his computer so that he can download music and all that stuff on his own. It is not downloading for me. Quicktime downloads, but I get an error for iTunes.
"An error occurred during the installation of assembly "Microsoft.VC80.CRT, version="80.50727.4053", type="win32", publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e8e3b", process or Architecture="x86"."
His system specs are as follows.
Windows Vista Home Premium
AMD Phenom 9150e Quad-Core Processor 1.80GHz
4.00 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430
64-bit Operating System
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong or how to fix it. iTunes has never been installed on his computer before. I'd really like to get this up and running soon. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.80070424

Install error #1620 PrPro Windows Vista Home Premium
Install error 1620 when attempting to install CS4 "This installation package could not be opened" (for each component of the software package). Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit, Intel i7 processor. Unable to install any components of PrPro. This is after a clean install of Vista Home Premium (part number x12-24171-01)with discs provided by microsoft.
I would never install a new OS over the top of what is there... wipe/format the hard drive and install fresh
Also, if you have a 64bit computer with more than 4Gig of ram, think about the 64bit version of Win7
CS4 can't use more than about 3Gig of ram, but if the OS can use more to run better... that is what I would do
Just be aware that you should still run CS4 in WinXP compatibility mode, as I posted before
Also read the article below... I have NOT done this, but it seems to be an easy process

6.5 install on windows vista 64 bit error USR0057
We can install v6.5 on a windows vista 32 bit, however, on a windows vista 64 bit we are getting the following error..."USR0057"
Defalut installed under the x86 file location, how can we get BO to load on the non x86 file location (simple under program files)
Thanks for the help!hi
the point is that even if you get this somehow to work your customer will work with a version which is no longer supported in a an environment which was NEVER supported.Your customer must be aware of the risks that result from such a decision.
I would recommend either to upgrade your BO version or to downgrade the windows clients.a solution maybe a terminal server installation of the bo client.
sorry that i cannot provide you with a solution but you have to be aware of the risks you are facing.

Quicktime will not install to Windows Vista "could not open key..."
I have been trying to install Quicktime for some time.
Get error message: "Could not open key: UNKNOWN\Components\9c430...... Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your local support personnel." The installer then rolls back.
I kept trying and was able to install QT, but it would not open. Error messagesaid something about a "side-by-side" configuration.
I am the only user/administrator of this pc. I have tried all troubleshooting steps on this website, including uninstalling all Apple software and all remnants.
I tried all troubleshooting steps. My next step is to re-install Windows.
HP d5000t Windows Vista Vista Ultimate 64-bit, Intel core2 quad Q9450 @ 2.66GHz 8GB RAMGet error message: "Could not open key: UNKNOWN\Components\9c430...... Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your local support personnel." The installer then rolls back.
Doublechecking, Alex. Have you tried the procedures from the following post?

(Although that's about an iTunes install problem on 7 rather than QuickTime install problem on Vista, similar sorts of troubleshooting proicedures can apply in your circumstances too.) -
