Errors installing recovery disk: No wifi

I used the recovery disk; factory settings reboot.... And this happens. It only connects directly to the Internet; no wifi at all. And it won't do windows updates. Now I get this message. I am not sure what I need to do to fix this.
You can see in the photos, there are errors with the Toshiba Modem and the Wifi 5100

Satellite A305-S6916
Those are the sorts of symptoms you might get if you restored to a hard disk with advanced-format technology. See my message about that.
But you didn't say anything about changing the hard drive.

  • HT4848 Error creating recovery disk in Disk Assist

I've carefully followed all instruction in this post: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4848, but I am having an error when creating the recovery disk.
The recovery Disk Assist starts creating it, but stops early on. The message I get is titled "Conclusion," and it says "The recovery drive wasn't created. There was an error creating recovery disk."
Can anyone help me with this? I followed all the steps in the post above and I also created the partition on the external drive.
I really need to wipe out my computer and make it appear "as new" because I am selling it. Any help would be great!
    Thanks!

Same happened to me.  This makes absolutely no sense, but I just kept trying and trying then it finally worked.  For me, it hasn't been worth the bother.  These restore DVDs don't work like the ones I made for an Acer laptop, for example.  On my Acer, I repartitioned, reformatted my drive and was easily able to restore my computer before I sold it.  I've been going nuts trying to restore my computer after a clean install of Windows 7.  Still can't get it to work.

  • Non system disk error with recovery disks--New hard drive

    HP Pavillion Model a6632f
Ordered new recovery disks from HP after installing brand new hard drive.  Getting errors trying to boot/install.  Now what?

It sounds like the boot device order is not set correctly. Please try this:
    1. Remove the recovery disk (cd) from the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) if you have it loaded. Make sure the only
peripherals  (cables) you have connected to the tower are the monitor, mouse, keyboard and main power.
    2. Start the computer and immediately strike the F10 key to boot into the BIOS Screen
    3. Once in the BIOS screen, strike the F5 key to reload the BIOS default settings.
    4. A message will pop up asking if you wish to SAVE & EXIT BIOS?
    5. Respond YES and exit.
The computer should attempt to boot up at this point. Go ahead and open the CD/DVD drive tray and insert
the 1 of system recovery disk and close the drive tray. Immediately force power off on the tower by pushing and
holding the power button. Once power goes off, allow appx 10-20 seconds and power the tower back on. If
reloading the default BIOS settings has corrected the system boot device order, the computer should now boot
immediately from the Optical Drive (CD drive) and begin the system recovery.

  • Errors creating recovery disk

I have received error 020150-20-00000000 twice when attempting to create the recovery disks.  It has happened on the first disk with two different files when trying to verify..
    I have a Satelite L505D-LS5010 with win 7
    Thanks
    Frank

That error often times indicates that one or both of the memory modules are defective.   Download the Memtest ISO image, create the self booting CD using the burn from image option, then boot to it and let it run through 4 tp 10 complete passes.  If ANY errors show up the memory will need to be replaced.
What brand of disks are you trying to use?  Memowrecks and store brand disks are well known to cause problems.  Verbatum blanks with the AZO die from Taiwan or United Arab Emerits are your best bet with Sony's second of the brands that are locally available.  Also, +R's are recommended over -R's according to Toshiba Technical Support.

  • Installing Recovery Disk Ptoblem

My L675D Laptop died a few weeks ago and all indications pointed to the HD. I installed a new HD and a newly acquired set of recovery disks and all was well for about a week. At some point the screen went dark and wouldn't reboot. I once again started a reinstall using the recovery disks but when I got to the screen that said "evaluating system performance" the install would proceed no further (I guess it would still be saying that it was evaluating system perfiormance if I hadn' turned it off) I would appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    JMB

What's the full model number? "L675D" is only partial.
The first thing to do is try a couple more times after that. I know that seems simple, but sometimes the recovery will go if you keep trying.

  • Boot Camp will not work after installing recovery disk

I purchased a refurbished Macbook Pro 2012. I went ahead and installed dual ssds and used the Mac OS X recovery disk from USB flash drive. I wanted to install WIndows 7 through bootcamp. Bootcamp will not start after selecting continue. I'm not sure if boot camp is corrupted or something I did wrong.

Well you'll need to see if that remote app has an update or if it is compatible with IOS 7.
since you didn't state which remote app your using.

  • Error installing - hard-disk space

    Hi,
today I tried to install Flash Builder 4 Beta 2 as Plugin on my Mac. Directory was "/development/devapps/flashbuilder". Need this directory because it's companies "standard" folder for our development stuff.
I got an error saying "Warning! low disk-space" (see the screen in german)
I dind't found any bug in Jira so do you know what's wrong?

Hard drive has capacity of 74.5 Gig.
OSX will take 15 to 20 Gig. Keep in mind that this includes virtual memory files, cache files, sleep files, and temp files -- all of which make your Mac run smoother and faster.
Add that to the items you have already identified, and subtract from 74.5 Gig and you probably will get fairly close to the amount of free space left on your hard drive.

  • Got error using recovery disk to reinstall Windows 7

I'm posting this cause maybe it could be helpful to anybody in the same situation that I was.
After events in my Z930, I decided to reinstall my Laptop to Out-Of-Box state. In my first time I was given an error, which I couldn't understand, so I did this in the second attempt:
    1. Get in Bios and set the SATA CONTROL MODE to COMPATIBILITY
    2. Erase all SSD, data, partitions, sectors...etc ALL
    The second attempt was sucessful!

Usually if the problem is SATA option solution should not be BIOS option change but SATA driver load before Win7 installation starts. With enabled SATA option (not compatibility mode) the HDD will work properly and with full performance.
Your solution is just workaround and some kind of temporary solution.

  • Recovery Disk Install will not boot ends with \Boot|BCD error

    Hi
    I have a Compaq Presario CQ56-219WM with Win7 64bit
The OS  needed to be reloaded but the F11 recovery option was not working so I purchased the Factory Recovery DVD's from HP.
When I go through the install procedure with the factory DVD's the sytem is disk is reformatted and programs loaded but the system refuses to boot... it always ends with an error message say that it can not read \BOOT\BCD
I found a genuine Win7 pro DVD from another system and tried to run the repair options but that did not change the error
It seems that the factory recovery disk really don't work in all cases. Can anyone help with this?

  • I'm trying to re-install mountain lion 19.8.2 from a recovery disk and get an error when it's trying to verify my computer with Apple, any idea what's wrong?

I'm trying to reinstall mountain lion 10.8.2 from a recovery disk and I get the following error when I goes to verify my computer with apple,
An error occurred while preparing the installation. Try running this application again. Can anyone help?

Well, I'm trying to figure out how you're doing this from a recovery disk. The only way to reinstall Mountain Lion is through the Recovery HD in the computer. Hold Cmd/R as you are starting up the computer and keep holding it. Eventually you'll get a screen asking you to select the language. Hit continue to select english and you'll get a Mac OS X Utilities Menu with the second option down being reinstall OS X.
