When I try to install itunes, it says: The installer encountered errors before itunes could be configured. Errors occured during instalation. Your system ha snot been modified... What should I do to install Itunes?
Same problem here :-( I am trying to install itunes for 64 bit Windows 7 64 bits from the official website to 5 months old HP Pavilon dv6 laptop. Have deinstalled the programme, cleared the caché, restarted my laptop but problem persists :-( What is the solution to this please?

Errors occurred during installation, install failed.
So recently I got into a bit of trouble when my web browsers got hacked and started installing some adware on my computer... I'm still getting that sorted out, but I think while I was going through my "Common Files" folder and deleting things that looked suspicious, I accidentally deleted some kind of file for Apple's many programs that install with iTunes. I realized my mistake when, at the next reboot, Windows gave me an error that some program could not start due to a missing .dll file and then gave me the program name, which as it turns out was Apple Application Support. I uninstalled the support program to attempt to correct the issue, but when I did it only broke things further! iTunes claimed that it could not work without the support software, so I tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes to get the Application Support program back. Sadly, this did not work either as iTunes did not uninstall correctly, freezing windows explorer. Then when I downloaded the install file to try again, it gives me an error almost immediately saying "Errors occurred during installation, your system has not been modified. Run the installer again." (I'm paraphrasing) When I run it again, the same thing happens.
In conclusion, it appears that by deleting one simple file, I have broken iTunes permanently and I can no longer use it on my computer. Ugh. Can anyone help me get it back? I can't believe I'm even asking this... I'm not really an apple fan but I do use it to put videos and stuff on my iPad and I have a bunch of playlists in there that I've spent time organizing, so I still use it as my "main" mp3 player. Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?

Errors occure during iTune upgrade
I checked for available updates and was informed that new version 11.0.2 of iTunes is available. After selecting "Install" updated was downloade. While in installing stage of updating iTunes I get a message: "An errors occured while installing the update, Choose Tools > Download Only and install manualy".
Did not tried suggested solution since I could not find "Tools"
Anyone knows the solution?

Have you ever gotten response to your question? I am getting the exact same error on my server (WebSphere/AIX/Oracle10g) and I am not sure what is causing it. When I look at the list of running services "IDPSchedulerService" is one of them. I am not sure what is going on.

I've already looked over many previous forum posts and haven't been able to find a suitable solution to this yet. I had iTunes on my computer previously but deleted it after I had freezing trouble. I have ensured that all old files have been removed. Bonjour gave me some trouble but I think I have dealt with that now. Also, I have been experiencing some failures with windows update-- service pack 1 for windows seven and some security updates mostly-- which I am yet to solve. I really have no idea what to do as I would like to run my iPhone on the latest iOS. If anybody could help me I would be forever grateful.

Went to various Itunes stores with pictures on my Iphone per each step so I could relay all information that I'd come across and the personnel were less than helpful, after conversations that would sometimes last an hour between myself, employees and managers they always came back to "simply uninstall then reinstall" when I told them for the thousanth time that I've done that multiple times and my errors are happening while trying to reinstall it they act stumped and say "well then I'm not sure, I'll give you a call if I figure it out" and disappear. I've been very disatisfied at the lack of support from Apple and if Android to piece together a reletively reliable phone I'd switch to them in a heartbeat. I'll follow this question incase someone can answer this, but I don't have much faith.
BTW, wifey has Windows 7 running on the laptop and my phone syncs just fine to that and no trouble with itunes, just mine (desktop). -

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 80073712, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?) -

Can anyone help solve this problemExactly the same problems as many others with iTunes 10.5 and my Windows 7 32 bit laptop: An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT .type="win32", … HRESULT:0x800736FD. I followed the Apple instructions to completely uninstall earlier iTunes and all Apple applications and then tried to re-install iTunes 10.5. Numerous attempts. Still no success. Constantly goes through the install and then rolls back after failure.
By unzipping using WinRAR and installing each module separately it seems that the module that fails is the AppleApplicationSupport.msi
Finally I uninstalled everything again and reinstalled iTunes 10.4.1. This installed perfectly. So at least I still have iTunes.
I was able to install iTunes 10.5 on myWindows XP SP3 desktop.
I noticed with WinRAR that the AppleApplicationSupport.msi file with 10.5 is a completely different size to that with 10.4.1. This suggests to me a conflict between the latest AppleApplicationSupport.msi and Windows 7. -

Okay. We've got a broken Windows Modules Installer on the PC, then.
It's a bit of an involved fix getting past it, but we've had success here with it in the past.
First, I'd strongly suggest setting up a system restore point.
Now try the Scenario III treatment from the following document:
Windows Update Error 80070424 in Vista
Head back into Windows Update and attempt to get updates again. If they still fail, this time with an 8000FFFF error code, try the following Microsoft document:
Windows Update error 8000FFFF
If you get Windows Updates flowing again, stock up on any you're behind on (restarting the PC when requested to do so). This may take some time and may have to be done in several batches, depending on how far you've fallen behind. Basically, keep going back to Windows Update until it stops offering you new updates.
After the updates have been installed, restart the PC one more time (in order to ensure that any pending installs requiring a restart have been resolved).
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the 0x80070424 this time?
