"Errors were found during the burning prcess" ????

The recording device reported the illegal request: Cannot write medium – incompatible format. (0x30, 0x05.)
I got that after it does all the encoding, and then it just spits the DVD out blank, the DVD is a Maxell DVD-R 16x 4.7, and my burner is LaCie Porsche designed DVD-RW. I think it only burns 1, 2, or 4x or something though.
any ideas? I will try the disk image idea, but I'm still curious what this means.

So i made a disk image successfully. First I tried burning it with Disk Utility. Ran into a bit of a problem:
Unable to burn "disk3" - The device failed to respond properly, unable to recover or retry..
So that was a no-go. Onto Toast Titanium6.
first, before i even click burn, when it's searching for drives and i select my LaCie:
Interface Error: -50
The connection is not stable
then, after I clicked burn this pops up:
The drive reported an error:
Sense Key = ILLEGAL REQUEST
Sense Code = 0x26
INVALID FIELD IN PARAMETER LIST
I click ok, wait a second and then this:
Sense Key = ILLEGAL REQUEST
Sense Code = 0x30, 0x05
CANNOT WRITE MEDIUM - INCOMPATIBLE FORMAT
I click ok and then finally:
Couldn't set up the track for writing.
so then i tried a different BRAND of dvd-r, Memorex instead of Maxell, and vwa-la! it works... what's up with that?

  • Idvd5.01 Errors were found during the burning process (Burned Finished)

I've never had this problem before, but i'm trying to burn a dvd after all the media and dvd are ready for burning and when I click on the burn icon the following message pops up: Errors were found during the burning process. I've check to make sure nothing is hanging outside the title safe area. Any suggestion to why I'm getting this error.

    Hello, Oscar,
This message can mean several things.
First, are you burning an iMovie or a slideshow or both?
Do you have chapter markers in your movie? Are they on or withing 2 seconds of any transition or at the beginning of your movie?
    Does everything encode properly?
Are you able to 'save as disk image'?
Post back with some more details about your project.

  • Errors were found during the burning process!?!?

I finished importing a movie off of my DV Camera and clicked "share" in the iDVD '06 menu. I selected iDVD and my movie was sent into iDVD 6. After customizing a menu, and inserting a blank disc, the burning process was started. After iDVD6 has finished "processing" and "rendering" the menus and the movie, the progress bar for the action "burning your DVD" pops up. About a quarter of the way through I get a window which says the following:
    Burning Finished
Errors were found during the burning process.
    After clicking "Details" it says:
The recording device reported the media error: Write error. (0x0C, 0x00.)
I have tried burning a movie on all DVD types available.(DVD-R DVD+R DVD RW) Why does this problem keep occurring? Is there a problem with my superdrive?

    Hello Ilzmaster,
the cause could be your burner, but it's much more likely that high burn speed is the culprit - and you can't control that in iDVD.
Try creating a disk image (File > Save as Disk image). This creates an .img file on your HDD, that can be stored for future use and gives you the option to preview your DVD on your Mac before burning to disc.
Next use Disc Utility or Toast to burn your DVD at slow speed. 4x is acceptable, 2x (... or even 1x) is better.
Use only high quality DVD-R (not DVD+R) media (e.g. Verbatim) to minimize burn errors and compatibility issues. Make sure the DVD is compatible with slow burn speed (e.g. 1x-4x)
Also: iDVD likes to have the project(s) on your startup disc with 15 - 20 GB of available disc space
    hope this helps

  • What does this mean and how do I fix it: "The following warnings and errors were found during the validation of the current project:  - There appears to be a broken asset in your project. Correct this problem before burning this project."

What does this mean and how do I fix it: "The following warnings and errors were found during the validation of the current project:  - There appears to be a broken asset in your project. Correct this problem before burning this project."

It means that iDVD has found a problem with one of the movies added to the project.  Did you edit the movie after it had been added to the project.
Create a new project and add your assets, movies, slides, etc. again and follow this workflow to help ensure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the  File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • "Errors found during the burning process"

    Hello,
I created an iDVD project that includes:
    1. 108-minute movie
    2. 6-minute movie
    3. 3-minute movie
    4. 12-minute slide show (3 four-minute slide shows)
The project worked fine in the iDVD Preview. I then attempted to burn the DVD right from iDVD, and after 8 hours of encoding, I got the "Errors found during the burning process" message.
I've read so many posts here with a hundred different possible solutions, but what is the best place to start to try to determine what the errors are and how to fix them?
Following one suggestion, I am now creating a Disk Image first, but if errors still exist with a Disk Image, what do I do then?
I'm working on a Powerbook G4 with the iLife upgrade. Thanks for any advice.
    Larry

    Larry,
Here's my philosophy on iDVD troubleshooting, largley based upon my experience here at this forum, with heavy doeses of input from Ken Tidwell, Len Goff, Old Toad, F Shippey, with more recent input from SDIllini, Hui Cheng, and Beverly M.......
#0 - always use "Save as Disk Image" instead of burning when troubleshooting iDVD
#1 Try the easy usual suspect fixes first! After all if these don't work you can always try the hard fixes!
Check the list on this download:
    http://dvd.kentidwell.com/iDVDUOFAQ2005.pdf
But here are easy solutions IMHO:
Get free space on the startup drive -20GB recommended
Delete the iDVD plist file com.apple.iDVD.plist
    Repair Disk Permissions
Clear Cache Files (CacheOutX, TigerCacheCleaner, Onyx)
Do you have 12 bit audio - check your camcorder.......if not 16 bit you will have problems
Fix Chapter Markers-don't put one at the beginning in iMovie (iDVD will do it for you)
Chapter Markers - don't put one at the end.
Chapter Markers - don't put one within 2 secs of a transition
Delete other corrupt preference files (try using Preferential Treatment)
#2 When the easy fixes don't work, you need to divide and conquer. The suspects are your a) your project media, b)your hardware, c)your system/user preferences, d)iDVD.
A good test for a&d is to build a simple test project with other photos/movies/themes/audio and see if you can "save as disk image" the test project. The iDVD4 tutorial project is great if you've ever had iDVD4 installed on your machine. If this works it suggests that iDVD is working OK, and that something in your project is causing the hiccup.
The most common problems in projects are CMs, audio and transitions. One way that sometimes clears them up is to export to full quality DV (or to tape!) and re-import into iDVD. In slideshows, funny JPEGs can bring iDVD down. The only method here is to try different groups to find the bad actor.
OK let's assume that you can't burn (I mean "Save as Disk Image") the test project or the tutorial. This suggest that your hardware/system/iDVD is having problems and your project is probably fine. Then what?
    c) Hardware: if you can make a disk image but can't burn it, or it plays badly, then try creating a data DVD - if you can't do that I'd suspect your DVD drive. Try different brands of DVD-R (and I'd stick to -R, not +R nor +RW), I like Verbatim. Next on the suspect list is RAM. iDVD is the best test for RAM known to mackind. Try pulling non-Apple supplied modules and try again.
OK, let's assume you can make data DVDs, but you can't make a good disk image, and you've tried pulling all non-Apple RAM. What next?
Try creating a new user. New users have more limited sets of fonts and all new preference files and caches, not only for iDVD but for everything, and few (if any) third party plug-ins installed.
    Finally try reinstalling iDVD.......
If you've done all this, a new system install might be in order, but come here first for advice from others before going that far!

ERRORS found during the burning process #-34506...any idea what this means?
This one project I want to copy to DVD keeps saying this when I go to burn (that is after nearly 2 hrs of processing). There is nothing wrong with the movie so i don't know why i'm having such a problem burning it. i guess to start i'd need to know what this code means (I couldn't find it in iDVD help).
    thanks in advance
    Jeremiah

First I'd be certain that I had changed the preferences from best quality to best performance.
Did you follow the chapter rules?
*Make sure no chapter markers are within two seconds of the start or end of the timeline.
*Make sure no chapter markers are within a transition.
*Make sure no chapter markers are within two seconds of the end of a transition.
You may have already done this, but
Quit iDVD. Search for the file named com.apple.iDVD.plist and trash it. (A new one will be created next launch of iDVD.) Or look in: User/Library/Preferences. This may solve project loading errors too. Restart and use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions.

I don't what's the problem. many people have this problem but they had not found the relevant thing in the log file. With this information provided please tell me what to do????

Download the clean u script for CS 4 fro the Adobe site you have to search for it.
Then try this, create a new user account and log in to this account and the try to install from there.
Since this ihe Mac forum I assume yu are on a Mac so if that fdoes not work try a safe boot and then install.
A Safe Boot is rebooting while holding down the shift key until you see the safe boot welcome screen.
    then try to install.
Oops this is the illustrator forum cross platform sorry I do not know how to safe boot on the PC.

  • Errot Found During The Burning Process

Can someone tell me why this is happening and how I can fix it?
I have 2 DVDs in front of me Both Sony DVD-R the only difference between the disks is one is 1X-4X the other is 1X-8X. I can burn the 1X-4X with no problem. The 1X-8X errors every time. The error message is:
The recording device reported the media error: Power calibration area error. (0x73, 0x03.)

I have been getting the same error message and have tried just about everything except replacing the drive. I have tried all kinds of blank dvd's and finally just bought the apple brand and still no luck. Which sony 1x-4x dvd's work, maybe that will be what we have to use.

  • Errors were found when compiling the workflow. The workflow files were saved but cannot be run.

    Greetings All,
I am having issues with a SharePoint Designer workflow.  This is a SharePoint 2013 environment, I'm using SharePoint Designer 2013 and working on a SharePoint 2010 workflow.  I'm developing this as a SharePoint 2010 workflow because I need to do
    impersonation.
The environment and workflow have been running, in the past week, without issue.  I went to add a couple steps and now I cannot publish the workflow.  While in SharePoint Designer, I receive the error:
"Errors were found when compiling the workflow.  The workflow files were saved but cannot be run."  When I click the Advanced button on the error dialog, the message is "Unexpected error on server associating the workflow."
That is all the error information I have available; nothing is in the log files.
I have investigated this error and tried the following:
    Cleared the SharePoint Designer cache.
The WebApp.UserDefinedWorkflowMaximumComplexity was at 7000 so I increased it to 10000.  Restarted the servers (which may not have been necessary) and tried again receiving the same error.  I then increased it to 30000 with the same error result.
Since this is a large workflow, I tried created a workflow with a single action, write to workflow log, with the same error results.
I reboot the servers and try again and now I can publish the small test workflow but not the original.  However, neither will run.  When I attempt to manually run the small test workflow on an item, I get an error: "Sorry something went wrong.
An unexpected error occurs.  I checked the log files for the correlation id and nothing, nothing was logged for the error. ~arg~
Also, now no workflows can be published in this web app.  Not just the one I was working on but none of them!
Does anyone have a clue what has happened to the SharePoint 2010 workflow service?  Or some suggestions for me to try?
Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hi Sagar,
I appreciate it but if you see my original post, this is a SharePoint 2010 workflow that cannot be published; which has now caused all SharePoint 2010 workflows in the same web app to error.
Your first link is specific to SharePoint 2013 workflows.
Your second link refers to the UserDefinedWorkflowMaximumComplexity.  If you read my original post, I've already tried this and I've tried to publish a small (single activity) workflow.
Your third link also refers to large workflows with many approval activities.  My workflow doesn't contain any approval activities.
And you fourth link refers to 2013 workflows not 2010.
My issue is with publishing and running a SharePoint 2010 workflow in SharePoint 2013.
    Thank you...

  • Errors were found when compiling the workflow

My company has consolodated many SharePoint sites into one with many subsites to save money. I ported my existing libraries from theold site to the new site (Same version of SP). The workflows did not go with the libraries, as expected. I re-created each
workflow, and every time have gotten the same error message: "Errors were found when compiling the workflow. The workflow files were saved but cannot run."
When I click Advanced I see some variation of the following:
(-1, -1) Compilation failed. Could not find file 'C:\Users\TEMP.*domain*\AppData\Local\Temp\ **and then a different .dll file every time'
I have not seen any other examples of this online. For some, creating a new task and history list for the workflow allowed it to compile, but not always.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that Errors are found when compiling the workflow.
I recommend that you can check whether the file exists under the path 'C:\Users\TEMP.*domain*\AppData\Local\Temp\”.
If it exists, you can create a silmple workflow to check whether it works.
If it does work, you can add executionTimeout property in web.config file to increase the timeout interval(Make a copy of the web.config file before editing anything).

  • CS4:  "Critical errors were found in setup. Please see the setup log for details" !!

I am using Win XP Pro SP3. I have CS3 installed, and successfully installed Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash from CS4 Design Premium. Then I successfully uninstalled DW, FW and FL CS3.
When I tried to open a SWF in Illustrator it failed to open, and then I tried to create a really simple SWF (a rectangle) by exporting from Illustrator and tried to open that and it also failed. Whenever I tried to open or place ANY SWF into Illustrator I get a "file *** is in an unknown format and cannot be opened" error.
I decided there must be a corrupt file, maybe the upgrade must have affected some Illustrator files, so I tried to repair the CS3 installation. After over 2 hours of INTENSE FRUSTRATION having to constantly switch CS3 and CS4 disks many MANY times, the installation failed, listing "common files" that were missing from non-existent folders such as "C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Desktop\Adobe CS4\Fireworks CS4\payloads\etc
When I tried to repair the CS4 installation after loading all the profile settings it errors before the installation window comes up, with "Critical errors were found in setup. Please see the setup log for details". Then it shuts down the installer. I then tried to do a system restore and system restore failed on all restore points!
    Please help:
    1. Where is "the setup log"?
    2. Will creating and populating the folders mentioned in the failed CS3 installation from the CS4 disk allow it to work?
    3. How can I uninstall CS4 if I can't even get to the installation window?
    4. Has Adobe just DESTROYED MY REGISTRY BEYOND REPAIR!!!???

im haveing a huge irritation useing illustrator cs4 live paint bucket because i can use everything else apart from the paint bucket which should be the easyiest tool to use sometimes it works with the white arrow sometimes it doesnt i sometimes get this below message
the selection contains objects that cannot be converted. live paint groups can only contain paths and compound paths. clipping paths are not allowed
the lines which i have drawn are connected which i believe have to be in order to use the paint bucket and i have no clipping paths so i am am baffled
i presume it is because the line is set to 0.01 it seems the live paint bucket wont notice thin lines, but i tried makeing the line thicker so i could use the paint bucket and it still doesnt work.

  • Critical Errors Were Found in Setup. Please see the Setup Logs for Details

Hello everyone. I have recently gotten Adobe Flash CS4 and i was really happy, until i kept getting the same error whenever i tried to install:
"Critical Errors Were Found in Setup. Please see the Setup Logs for Details"
I do not know what is the cause of the problem, but i have installed Adobe Photoshop CS3 succesfully without any problems. Please do help. I checked the setup logs, but i have no clue what it is saying, and its too long to post here.
Thank you for your time and help.

We've all been there with the frustration.
And I'd really like to see you get back up and running. I'm a bit of an insomniac and tend to go back over the day while I'm pretending to sleep, and a couple of new things filtered back into my mind. There have been, I think, some problems reported about conflicts with some scanner drivers, and of course with firewalls, anti-virus programs, and the like. I think iTunes and instant messengers are also on that list.
Make sure you turn off everything non-essential before trying to do your installation (and I'd probably do the same thing before running the scripts again). I do this by running MSConfig on XP and going to the startup tab. I uncheck everything I can't identify as being essential (which means I pretty much only leave the mouse driver checked. You may need to google some of the stuff to find out what it is) and then go to the services tab and hide all Microsoft services. From what's left I again uncheck everything that isn't required to run the system. Bonjour, if you see it, should be left active as it is used by the CS3 installer. Restart the computer.
This should have turned off pretty much everything that could have been conflicting with the installer. Go to windows security center and make sure the windows firewall is also temporarily turned off, if you use it, and you should be ready to go. It can't hurt to try the add/remove programs again, but it probably won't show any adobe products anymore if you've run the scripts correctly (did you also run the MSI cleanup utility?).
After you've finished, you can run MSConfig again and reset to standard startup.
