Errors when downloading iTunes onto Windows 8

Trying to download iTunes onto new Windows 8 computer (Dell). Once I choose a destination folder and hit "install" it stops within a few seconds saying there was an error (doesn't say what kind of error), and to try again. I have tried 8 million times (...minus a few, maybe). Any suggestions?

Sorry I seemed to have clicked something without knowing,, meant to say that the download does not start at all, is there a reason.
I have an id etc and have moved to a new operating ststem , its a nightmare!

  • C:\Config.Msi\65598.rbf error when downloading Itunes on Windows

Hi.  I am trying to download the new Itunes and am having trouble in windows.
This is the error message: Error writing to file C:\Config.Msi\65598.rbf verify that you have access to that directory.
    Any advice?

You're welcome. Were you having the Kaspersky trouble, NWP?

  • When downloading iTunes onto a new computer, is there any way to automatically import old music files? Last time I got a new computer I didn't have to use an external drive to update my music library.

When downloading iTunes onto a new computer, is there any way to automatically important songs from your previous computer? I recently cracked the screen on my computer and cannot access any files. Last time I got a new computer my iTunes media files automatically appeared in my iTunes when I downloaded it, and I did not have to use my external drive. Is this still possible?

If your backup copy of the old computer was not stolen, then use it to put everything back.

  • On downloading iTunes onto windows 7 version, I get error 7 shown, stating it is windows 127 error fault

I have tried to download iTunes onto my computer using Windows 7 Home Premium version, however, each time I have tried, when it says it has been successfully installed, when I click to start it, it shows an error code, ( error7, windows error code 127) IT ASKS YOU TO RE-INSTALL ITunes, & I HAVE DONE THIS SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT SUCCESS!!            I am really getting fed up about this situation!
    What can I do further?
I have checked that .NET 4.5.1 is correct & it is installed OK, so what is stopping it installing properly, even though it says it has installed correctly, I still get the error code when trying to start iTunes.
This has happened on different days over the past Month, I give up for awhile, then try it again, but to no avail, what can I do now please?
    Peter.

  • System services error when downloading itunes

I received an error when updating iTunes. I uninstalled it.
When downloading iTunes from the website, I get as far as System Services and I receive an error.
Retry and Ignore do not work.

Thanks for posting the link.  That worked for me just fine.  I had previously uninstalled & reinstalled Itunes but that didn't work because I was not removing all the folders associated with it. Have a great week!

  • Cannot download Itunes onto Windows.....

I have tried numerous times to download itunes onto my computer. I go to download... hit button and then it says you have successfully downloaded itunes but I haven't as I can not find it anywhere on my computer. There is a bar that pops uptop but doesn't show long enough for me to see what it requires. Does anyone know what that bar says or what is wrong....

.msi error when I try and download itunes 10.5.  Anyone have a fix or suggestion?

  • Error when downloading itunes 7 to laptop, somthing about win 32

I have an error that is not letting me download itunes. Can someone help. It says something about valid win 32.

Just a quick point. When you download iTunes do you press run or save?
You need to SAVE the download file, usually in My Download Files although it doesn't really matter. Then once it has been saved you can run it.
But perhaps this is what you did already?

    Hi lizz4321,
A digital ID is made up of three components; a private key, a corresponding public key, and some identifying information. The keys themselves are pretty straight forward, they are just big blobs of numbers used to encrypt and decrypt data. It's the identifying information that gets a bit tricky. On first look, the identifying information looks like plain text. You'll see your name and the issuer's name, a serial number, some dates for when the validity starts and ends. All pretty straight forward.
However, all of this information is actually formatted using something called ASN.1 (it stands for Abstract Syntax Notation) and then encoded using BER (Basic Encoding Rules). When someone creates a digital ID they can put just about anything in there. Per specifications (RFC 5280 if you wanted to look it up) some items are required, and others are optional. Each piece of information that goes into the public-key certificate (the PKC is basically the digital ID without the private key) is contained in an extension. These extensions are identified using an OID (Object ID) and conform to a specification which may either be public or confidential.
There are two possibilities in the case you are seeing. Either, some of the information that Acrobat knows about was formatted or encoded incorrectly, or, there is an optional entry that Acrobat doesn't understand how to decode. My guess is it's the latter possibility. There is a rule that states if an extension is marked as critical, and the application using the public-key certificate (in this case the application would be Acrobat), doesn't understand the extension, then the application is supposed to reject the certificate. It could be the former case (badly formatted data), but without seeing the certificate all I can do is guess.

  • Error when installing itunes for windows 7 64-bit

I just bought a new laptop with windows 7 on it. I downloaded itunes and when i try to run the setup.exe it says:
"This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package"
I tried saving the exe file to my hard drive instead of running it. I tried running as administrator.
I even downloaded older versions of itunes (9.0.2)(9.0.1) and tried to install and it said the same thing.
I downloaded just to see if it was a problem with my computer not giving me access to install things and it installed just fine.
I downloaded the 64-bit version of the software.
I also disabled my anti virus and firewall temporarily.
Just to save my sanity I downloaded the new version of iTunes on my girlfriends laptop who also has a 64 bit version of windows 7 and tried to run the installer. It ran just fine.
This is really frustrating me so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just to save my sanity I downloaded the new version of iTunes on my girlfriends laptop who also has a 64 bit version of windows 7 and tried to run the installer. It ran just fine.
Do you still have the known-good installer on the girlfriend's laptop?
If so, I'd try copying it to an external hard drive or large-enough thumb drive, or burning it to a CD-R. Carry it back to your PC, copy the iTunes64Setup to your hard drive (don't run the install from the external or CD-R), and then try running an install from that known-good installer.
Does that one go through properly?
(Thinking here that the installers might have been getting damaged during the download to your PC ... if we could bypass that step, we might be able to get the beggar installed.)

  • Application Errors when running iTunes in Windows 7

I am getting the following Errors in Windows when running iTunes 9. Seems to only occur when I want to view anything in the iTunes store or when listening to any music in my library that was purchased from the store.
    - I have removed and reinstalled the product.
    - I have been successful in replicating this issue on 2 other Windows 7 and Vista machines.
    - I am running the Windows 7 Pro RTM 32bit (not the RC or Beta) and Vista Business SP2. All 3 machines worked fine before the upgrade to iTunes 9.

    Hummmmmm,
I had similar problem today with a laptop with Itunes / Vista
The issue occured when it was connected to the internet. Error message is related to Itunes.dll in the event viewer, and Itunes crashed.
I fixed it by checking the internet options / connection. Just make sure to have unchuck all proxy related option if you are directly connected to the internet.
Tell me if it fixed the issue.
Itunes crashed because it tried to use a proxy setting that was configured but not set to any adress (there was a blank line).

  • How do I fix these errors when downloading Itunes?

I keep getting the following errors:
Could not open key: UNKOWN\Components\(some letters and numbers)\(some letters and numbers). Verify that you have sufficent access to that key or contact your support personnel.
This message flashes about three of four times through out the installing.
Once I get past these errors, I eventually get this message, which ultimately ends any attempt to dowload Itunes.
The installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Itunes\ITDetector.ocx
I would greatly appricate any help to fix these problems and download Itunes. I just got a new iPhone and I just want to put music on it.
