Errors when merging data in InDesign - Help!

Hi,
I'm fairly new to data merge in InDesign but have got my head around it in order to import a load of course listings into a prospectus design.
All was going well and I had my template all formatted and ready to go - but then I clicked 'preview multiple record layout', scrolled through a few pages and noticed that on some records the data has been wrongly, and seemingly randomly, imported. So for example, under the heading 'Course Code' which should just be a numerical value, it has substituted random text from another field instead. About half of the records are fine, and half are wrong.
My Excel sheet is very tidy and correct and there are no hidden fields which might foul the data merge. I just can't work out what's going wrong!
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!

Don't preview. It's a bug that happens often enough as to not ever trust it.
Main issue now is that the mere previewing of the merge can corrupt your merge document. Close down ID. Restart ID. Do the merge without previewing it and trust it will happen. Then carefully review the merged document for errors. If there are errors, you'll need to create a new document, copy over your elements from the corrupted document, do the merge without previewing and check it carefully.
If it is still breaking the merge, let us know. At that time, screen shots of the CSV, the layout in ID, the merge panel, etc., might be needed.

System says (short dump):

The current ABAP program "SAPLMCEX" had to be terminated because one of the statements could not be executed. This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program. When attempting to import data, it was discovered that the data type of the stored data was not the same as that specified in the program.
An exception occurred. This exception is dealt with in more detail below. The exception, which is assigned to the class 'CX_SY_IMPORT_MISMATCH_ERROR', was neither caught nor passed along using a RAISING clause, in the procedure "MCEX_BW_LO_API" "(FUNCTION)".
Since the caller of the procedure could not have expected this exception
to occur, the running program was terminated.
The reason for the exception is: When importing the object "MC04P_0MAT_TAB", the component no. 5 in the dataset has a different type from the corresponding component of the target object in the program "SAPLMCEX". The data type is "D" in the dataset, but "C" in the program.

Please, can someone explain me how to solve it?

Hi,
Check this note: 328181
So you need to delete entries in SM13/LBWQ for application and also detup table content.
And then refill teh set up table.
If you are in production clear the entries by running collective run no of times for this application 04.

Instead rather give important information, unless you just came here to complain and not wanting to ask for help.
1. What error?
2. Where is the file saved - local HDD or network?
3. Will "Save as..." work?
4. When closing ID and opening again, it should restore the files (data loss due to crash prevention) - will you then be able to save?

Error when reading data from socket

Hi,
I am getting the error 'NiRawReadError: An error occured when reading data from socket.' when using the ABAP API 'mo_core_service->invoke_matching'.
And I get this error only when I pass ABAP_TRUE to the paramter 'iv_wait_for_invocation' .
Can anybody help me in correcting this?

Error when sending data request

Hi All,
   i have scheduled info package for different type data sources in bi 7.0, for this i am getting the data from ecc 6.0 . all of this schedule's showing the status "error when sending data request" with the following details.
status
diagnosis
the request idoc could not be sent to the source system using rfc
system response
there is an idoc in the warehouse outbox that did not arrive in the ale inbox of the source system
in step by step analysis it is showing
   rfc to source system successful showing with ash status
   data selection successfully stated and finished ? show with red status
in that details tab
request : showing with green status
everything ok
extraction :showing with red status
missing messages
transfer(idocs and trfc) : missing messeges
processing(data packet) : no data
    it is showing technical status with red as processing overdue
                       processing step call to source system
   so it is showing error with 0 from 0 records.
please any body could help me for solving this error.

Hi
Seems you have connectivity issues between the Source system and Bi system.
You need to check whether you have data on R/3 side via RSA3 with Full / Delta Update Modes with Target System as your BI system.
RSA13--Source System -- Right click Connection parameters/check/Restore/Activate again Say Replicate All Data Sources (If Possible , provided if you have time because it consumes lot of time )
You need to check the tRFC Queue SM58/59 for any Stucks and WE19/20 for IDocs.
Much of BASIS Issue .

Hello Gurus,
 I am getting a error when I try to create a extract using RSCRM_BAPI using Process Chain.
 I created a job and used that in the Process Chain, Once I run the Process Chain it is executing and
 the job is deleted and the extract gives me this error in the Monitor.
 Error Message - Error when getting data (RSDRI_CUBE_READ)
 If I run manually I am able to see the extracted records.
 Please help.

"Unknown error when executing MDX" is msg number BRAINOLAPAPI012.
Check out these 3 SAP notes:

Also test in transaction MDXTEST to see if your statements are syntactically correct.

IRWebclient: error when uncompressing data retrieved: *Data Error*!

We experience a sporadic "error when uncompressing data retrieved: *Data Error*!" while processing a query with IR webclient 931. The problem occurs on several webclients but on other desktops it does not. The IHTML processes fine.
Any one an idea? reinstalling interactive webclient on the same pc does not help.
Completely reinstall the pc (os and other client software including interactive webclient) does help.

931 bqy's are stored on server as zip files. (although they are renamed as *.1) On 832 they were stored as bqy files (although they were renamed to *.1 too).
The clients which had the error message tried to open their 931 documents with the 832 plugin. Which does not have the capebility to uncompress the .1 file. In that perspective is the error message very obvious.
We need to run both 832 intelligence plugin and the 931 webclient on the same client.
How can we force that the corrcet version is used for openeing the docs?

Activating DemoContent: Error when reading data target

I'm trying to activate the SAP Demo cube Purchasing Data (0D_PU_C01). The Grouping Mode is set to In Dataflow Before and Afterwards.
When I simulate installation, I get the error message Error when reading data target 0D_PU_C01 (Message no. RSAU126) in the logs (although in the Collection Area the Simulation Result column is marked with a green check).
I could find only 2 notes related to this error in the SAP Service Marketplace. SAP note nr. 540873 is about the BW indexing job. Note nr. 587796 (Error in after import of update rules) seams more appropriate, however not thoroughly right. In fact it refers to BW 3.1 Content or BW 3.0B.
My system version instead is:
BI_CONT 353
SAP_BW 350
The very same problem occurs when I try to activate the SAP Demo Sales and Distribution.
Any suggestion?

Ok, it worked! Now however I have some more doubts.
1. I can't find the InfoObjects (e.g. 0D_GR_QTY, 0D_PLANT, 0D_MATERIAL, etc.) anywhere in Modeling -> InfoObjects, even if:
a) I can find them under the InfoSource tree of the SAP Demo Application Component
b) they appear activated in Business Content
What's going on?
2. The newly activated Purchasing Data cube has been added to the Unassigned Nodes InfoArea, and not to a newly created SAP Demo Purchasing (0D_MMPUR) InfoArea, similarly to the structure I saw when collecting the InfoProvider in Business Content. Is this the normal behaviour?
3. No DataSource has been assigned to any of the InfoSources. I read at:

that the SAP Demo Source System will be used. What I can't understand is if I need to manually create and select this Source System. It seems you are using wrong client ID. Make sure your logon pad has right details. You should verify this with your basis team.
If the problem persists then try re-installing. But before you do that you can execute sapbexc.xla which is in the c:\program files\sap\bw. Type c:\ in cell c3 and click "start button". Any red flag means you have wrong version dll/ocx on your local drive, in that case you should reinstall with right patches.

If you are actually creating a BDC to load data pls be more specific.
Data format incorrect. Tab delimited/ etc
Dates in wrong formats
Currency incorrect formats
Missing screens
Wrong transaction code
File not found,
Missing Mandatory fields,
Screen resoultion.
You should always use refresh for your Bdcdata table.
Loop at internal table.
refresh Bdcdata.

IR webclient: error when uncompressing data retrieved: *Data Error*!

A small (?) number of IR webclient 931 installations we notice the next error when processing: " error when uncompressing data retrieved: *Data Error*! " It does not seem to be user or permission/provision related.
Does anyone have an idea how to solve it. Reinstalling the IR webclient does not solve it.

I get a error when I open the new help in FCP7:
The Help Library requires JavaScript.
If JavaScript is not enabled, you will not

I have checked that Javascript was enabled in Safari (and it is).
I can read the documentation in Safari online using this link: http://documentation.apple.com/en/finalcutpro/usermanual/
I have now tried all the new/updated programs in the FCS3 suite they all have the same problem:

The 656x devices have a limit on the available data delay values based
on frequency. Between 25MHz and 50MHz there are "holes" in the
available delay range. Above 50MHz, the full 0 to 1 data delay is
valid. If you look in the specifications installed with NI HSDIO
for the NI 656x, on page 7, Figure 1, there is an illustration showing
how to compute what the valid range is for the frequency of interest.
For example, at 40MHz, valid values are:
0 to 0.2
0.3 to 0.7
0.8 to 1
In the error message posted below, you tried to input a value of 0.71875 which is not within these ranges.

When I load the data from the SAP CRM source system. Iam getting the following error.

Data Packets or Info Packets are missing in BW, but there were - as far as can be seen - no processing errors in the source system. It is
therefore probable that an error arose in the data transfer.
With the analysis an attempt was made to read the ALE outbox of the source system, which lead to error .

ok here's a development..when i logged in the source system to check the job...it says the job defn is incomplete. The description says:
Definition for job ARFC:SYSLOAD1C800CRMREMOTE is incomplete. Job cannot be released
Can anyone give an insight on it.
