  • New Role does not appear in home page after assigned to a user

    Hi there!
    I'm new at SAP Portals.
    I've created a role and assigned it to an user, but the corresponding tab does not appear in home page.
    I've already changed permitions to a group that is assigned to the user.
    I've seen in some posts that the role's property "Entry point" should have value "Yes", but mine is set to "No". Meanwhile, I can't change it. When I open the role and press button "Properties" nothing happens. The only way I can check role's properties is through "Delta Link tracer", but there I can't change them.
    Can you help me, make the new tab (corresponding to role) happear in home page menu?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Vasco Brandã

    Hi,
    to track down you problem, you click on "properties", but you can't see the properties? They won't get loaded and therefor, you can't edit the property?
    What's your portal version + SPS, which browser are you using + version (IE, FF) and how do you access the portal? IP, FQDN? Are you getting any error message in the browser?
    What profile is assigned to your user? What kind of roles are you trying to modify? A new one, or a SAP pre-delivered portal role?

  • Despite home page set as default,prefs file being deleted. (twice) it still opens in welcome window, alongside is my home page tab,add on checking doesnt finish .

    everytime I open firefox. checking for add ons flashes up and disappears then welcome page opens, my home page tab is alongside it. I have uninstalled firefox. deleted the prefs file. instructed my privacy programme to ignore firefox all to no avail. I know I can edit user.js but not sure how. I can open it in notepad as instructed in help files but have no idea what to do next and what to edit.

    Do you have a file user.js in the Firefox Profile Folder?
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
    Such a file isn't there by default, so if it is there then either you or other software or a Firefox extension has created it.

    Hi
    How can we assign a default Role to any new User created.
    This Role should automatically get assigned whenever a new User is created.

    Hello,
    for ABAP Stack users you can just create a reference user with the according roles and copy new users from it.

  • Why do my appearance add-ons disappear and my custom home page revert to default whenever I close Firefox?

    These items work fine and stay functional when I keep the browser open, but as soon as I close it, then open it later, the appearance add-ons disappear from my add-ons list and my home page reverts to the default.

    It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
    Delete the files extensions.* (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

    New files will be created when required.

  • I installed the latest version of Firefox and it opens to google. I would like to use my old Sbcyahoo home page as the default page. How do I change

    I installed the latest version of Firefox. The home page is now a google search box. I would like to use my old sbcyahoo desktop with its icons. I am unable to make the change.

    Oops. I could have been more clear, sorry.
    TOOLS > OPTIONS > GENERAL tab
    Under Start-up at the top of GENERAL, you have an option to type in the url or use the tabs to set your homepage to the current page.
    Go to your chosen site, open OPTIONS and click 'Use current page.'
    Sorry for the shorthand version previously. I blame the cat.

  • Setting the System Default Home Page

    Hello everyone... i've created a root page with some portlets on it...
    what i am trying to do is to set this root page as default for a particular user.
    i found some steps online but it doesn't seem to work...
    here is what i was trying to do:
    To set a user's default home page:
    In the Portal User Profile portlet, in the Name field, enter the user name of the user for whom you want to assign a default home page.
    By default, the Portal User Profile portlet is on the Administer tab of the Portal Builder page.
    Click Edit.
    Next to the Default Home Page field, click the Browse Pages icon to see a list of pages from which to choose.
    Click Return Object next to the page you want to make the default home page for this user.
    Click OK.
    please let me know how to do this correctly...
    thank you

    Hi,
        You can change  for example the Branding image, instead of the SAP logo. Refer to this [Thread|MI client homepage log change in MI 7.0;
        Is this what you mean by changing the home page?
    Thanks & Regards

  • Work uses Firefox as default browser, I use Firefox as my default browser at home. When I get home my home page has been reset to the work homepage. What gives?

    Recently, my office has integrated a new mail server to reduce traffic on the public website. The administrator assigned the new mail server as the home page. Our default browser is Firefox.
    I also use Firefox at home. When I open my browser at home the google page comes up, then when I select the "home" icon it redirects me to the office mail server.
    I can change my home page on my browser to my actual home page. It will remain on my "actual" home page during all sessions until I open the browser at work. Once I do that and go home it switches to the work "home page". Again, I can physically change it on my home browser and have it work all the time I am at home, but if I work and open the browser it changes my home "home".

    Try:
    * [[Removing the Search Helper Extension and Bing Bar]]
    You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location bar and do a search for <i>bing</i> via the Filter at the top of that page.<br />
    You can reset all <i>bing</i> related prefs via the right-click context menu to their default values.
    To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
    If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
    You can use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a pref more easily.

  • Hot Leads Report visible on Home Page

    Dear Colleagues,
    I would like the Hot Leads to be seen in Home Page of one of Sales users.
    I not sure where in Scoping or another area I should look for to enable this Insight report.
    Greetings
    Slav

    Hi Slav,
    I hope you must have created the business role for your sales users. You can customize the home page for the Business Role. To do the customization, you should follow the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft Silverlight mode
    2. Open your hope page and click on Setting button in right corner.
    3. Click on Adapt and select your business role
    4. Again click on Settings button in right corner, then Edit.
    5. system will open the setting view and select the report.
    6. Search hot lead report and click on add to role check box.
    7. Click on Publish button in right corner to publish your changes to all users assigned in the business role.
    After doing above steps, your Sales users will have Hot leads report in their home screen.

  • How do I open with an animated gif and then go to home page?

    I apologize for the newbie question, but I would like to have
    an animated gif intro to a web page. Is it possible to have the gif
    play and then go to the index file? Or do I need to insert the gif
    into an index file and save the home page as something different?
    If so, how do I get it to go to the home page automatically?
    Any help is appreciated.

    >I apologize for the newbie question, but I would like to
    have an animated
    >gif
    > intro to a web page.
    This is called a 'splash page'. To do it, you'll make your
    default home page
    (index.html/default.html/whatever) this splash page, then
    you'll have then
    sent to whatever other page you want it to go to...either via
    a HREF or a
    META REFRESH tag.
    You can't actually time the refresh to coincide with the gif
    finishing it's
    animation, though. For that, you'd have to use Flash
    animation.
    But keep in mind that this technique is pretty much frowned
    upon these days.
    It's an unecessary barrier betwen your users and your content
    and is seen by
    many as a rather dated/amateur technique.

  • Why wont firefox open on my home page

    Firefox for some reason has decided to open in the last used site before shut down. will not respond to setting my home page as it previously did

    Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause
    Firefox issues. '''Disable All of them.'''
    Bookmark and use this;
    '''[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/ Mozilla Search Reset]''' {web link}
    This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and
    then resets your search preferences and home page to their
    default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the
    search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.
    Type '''about:preferences#general'''<enter> in the address bar.
    There are two settings;
    * '''When Firefox Starts'''
    When the browser is started, what do you want to
    display. Many of us choose '''Show My Home Page.'''
    * '''Home Page'''
    When a new page is opened, what do you want displayed.
    # '''Use Current Page'''. Use what ever page(s) are open at that time.
    # '''Use Bookmark'''
    # '''Restore To Default.''' about:home shows a Mozilla home page with tools.
    You can use any of these that you wish;
    '''about:home''' (Firefox default home page),
    '''about:newtab''' (shows the sites most visited),
    '''about:blank''' (a blank page),
    or you can enter any '''web page''' or '''about:''' page you want.

  • Can not change and keep home page to customized setting

    Im trying to set my home page to Comcast but it is not allowing me to keep it. It stays while my session is open but once it is closed it resets to the default home pages.

    Firefox's default home page is simply about:home with appears blank in the address bar. Do you have multiple default home pages??
    Hopefully this article will help with having your preference changes remembered: [[How to fix preferences that won't save]].

  • Bug i hope mozilla can fix. Home page sometimes gets screwed up. Due to Software idiots who tamper with it and other sites... let me explain...

    Mozilla is awsome, but there comes often times such as now, DivX software asked me if i wanted to make BING my default home page. I of course said no. Well it set it to that anyways in firefox. Gee, thanks Divix and thank you microsoft for joining the ways of many adware jerks out there. Well anyways, I wanted to set it back to firefox default. Well i can't. I click that button over and over click save it keeps it at bing. I really hate bing. I like google, but i also love that firefox logo i get each time i click the home button. So now like usual, there is no way to set it back the way it was no matter how often i restart the computer the browser, click the "restore to default button" i'm now once again stuck with a seach engine on the firefox page that i hate so much. The only way to fix this is to uninstall firefox, including all add-ins and plugins, and all private stuff, to completely remove it, then reinstall it. man i am so tired of this just cuz some developers are too lazy to respect the work of other developers and consumers to now force their gibberish into my favorite web browser. Can Mozilla possibly fix this so there is no possible way any developer could ruin it for me any more? I really just like the fresh default page, with the Firefox logo and Google as default. Thanks.

    There are many loaders that change settings without asking.
    Book mark this;
    '''Download the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/ Mozilla Search Reset]''' {web link}
    This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up
    and then resets your search preferences and home page
    to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This
    affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home
    page.
    And check this out;
    '''[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/settings-guard Settings Guard for Firefox]''' {web link}
    Detects and resets changes to settings that are frequently done
    by add-ons and application installers.
