ES repository access in CE 7.1

Hi
How can I access Enterprise Service Repository in CE 7.1   .
I have successfully installed the same. But am not able to access backend systems.
This is a trail version. Thanks.
Regards

Hi Swarna,
As a prerequisite for development in the ES Repository, the System Landscape Directory is needed
where products and software components are maintained. After an installation of the Enterprise
Services Repository for SAP NetWeaver CE, you can create your own products and software
component versions in the System Landscape Directory.
You access the ES Repository by means of the Enterprise Services Builder, a WebStart UI client.
Before start of development software component versions need to be imported from the System
Landscape Directory into the ES Repository.
You can start the ES Repository using the following link in a browser:
http://<host_name>:<http_port>/rep
For ES Repository, you need to run the following configuration tasks:
1. Initial Setup of functional unit SLD
2. Configuration of ESR in CE
Further You can search for the services at the following url
http://<hostname>:<port>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/WebServiceBrowser/search.html
Hope this helps

Gaurav

  • Content repository access restriction?

    hi All,
i want to make a check for content repository access when check in file,  i found a similar thread in the forum but it said using one of the DMS BADIs like DOCUMENT_STORAGE01 with methods BEFORE_PHYSICAL_CHECKIN or BEFORE_CHECKIN coufd be useful to implement an individual check.
i can not find any authorization object to do this .
    anyone got a good idea?
    George.

i can not find any authorization object to do this
There is no standard authorization object available to cater to this requirement.
However, another solution you may want to look at is Entitlement Manager from Nextlabs for SAP which extends the native SAP authorization model to provide easy to manage policy-based authorization to specific product data across geographies.

  • Repository access failure

    hi guys,
i'm new to AS now we start the machine and start the infrastructure as usual but the OC4j_security failed and when i press start it says in the error log: repository access failure??any help plz

Is the infrastructure database and listener up and running?
Are you using 10g(9.0.4) or 9.0.2?
If 10g try the following after starting the machine:
    1. Start the database - am sure you know how to do this.
    2. Start the listener - $ORACLE_HOME/bin/lsnrctl start
    3. Start all the other insatlled opmn managed components
    $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl startall
If you have a Portal and Wireless Mid Tier associated with this infra that you also need to start simply fire off:
    $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl startall
To start the EM processes in each home should you need to access the EM console use:
    $ORCALE_HOME/bin/emctl start iasconsole
Try the above and see if this gets you passed the repos issue.
    cheers

How ever if you are looking for SAP HANA Development (SAP HANA Application Development) in Windows → Preferences, it can be found as in screenshot below.

  • Oracle BI EE repository accessed from Hyperion IR

    Hi there.
I'm new to Oracle BI EE. I have imported a new data base (the sample Microsoft Access one that comes with Hyperion) to the physical layer in the Admin tool, created the keys, created the Business Model and Mapping layer and the presentation layer. When I connect to the repository (paint.rpd) with Hyperion Interactive Reporting via ODBC, I can see all the tables (the sample ones already there plus the ones in the database I just added). I can create a datamodel with the tables that came with the paint repository fine, but when I drag in any table from the newly added database they just disappear. No log are produced.
However I can use Answers fine to report off the new database.
    Any ideas please?
    Many thanks
    Bob Pentney

I have since found out what to do to make it work. In the presentation layer I replaced the default name of the catalogue (which is the fully qualified path name to the data source) with a simple one word name, eg Sample.
    Cheers

  • Repository access denied

    Hi,
I am not able to access the loaded running repository from either Data Manager or Import Manager. The error which I am getting is "repository not loaded" whereas the repository is already loaded and running. All client versions are same, I have tried after restarting the server but still the same error.
    I am using ver: MDM 5.5 SP5 ( 5.5.41.58 )
    Pls help with your answer.
    Sanjay Naik

    Hi Sanjay,
As you have said that you are working on SP05, you can disconnect from the
repository and then try connecting again.
Or if nothing is working out try archiving the repository and then Unarchiving the repository with a different name. Probably your problem will be solved.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Repository Access Rights

There are several right you can grant on a workarea
-Administrate Grant, revoke or delete access rights on a repository
    object
    -Compile Refresh a workarea
-Delete Delete an object (or perform force delete or purge if they have
    the necessary repository privileges)
    -Insert Create an object
    -Select Query an object
    -Update Modify an object
    -Update Spec Redefine a workarea
-Version Check out/check in an object
What Access Rights are usually applied to a developer in a shared
    workarea?
    null

    Hi,
Typically, you would want to grant all of those except administrate and delete/purge. But it depends on your own team's security policies (for example, you might decide that developers are not allowed to alter the spec of a shared workarea so that other team members are not affected by changes).

  • Portlet Repository access control

    Hello,
How do I selectively set access control for portlet repository?
Basically, I don't want users to add "Administration Portlets", "Portlet Builders", etc. I only want users to see "Portlet Staging Area". I tried "Specify Permissions" on the page, but somehow it is not working.
I am using Oracle portal version 10.1.4
    Thanks,
    -Dong Chen

    Hi Dong Chen,
Yes, it works perfectly here !
    Let's compare notes.....
    0. I clicked on "Clear Cache" under "Cache Invalidation".
    1. I clicked on the "Acess" tab for the "Administration Portlets" Page.
    2. I clicked on " Specify Access Settings" under "Access Settings".
    3. I clicked on "Enable Item Level Security" under "Access Properties".
    4. I clicked on the "Browse Groups" LOV and selected "PORTAL_ADMINISTRATORS".
    5. I selected the "manage" privilige from the "Privilige" LOV.
    6. I Clicked on "OK".
    7. Now, I logged out & logged in as one of the Authenticated Users, who does not belong to the PORTAL_ADMINISTRATORS Group. I do not see the Administration Portlets anymore.
Now, as far as the AUTHENTICATED_USERS are concerned, the Administration Portlets don't exists ! :)

  • Build OBIEE 11g repository accessing Essbase problem

When I use OBIEE 10g to import Essbase cubes metadata, the measures are displayed as 'physical cube columns' in physical layer; however, when I use OBIEE 11g to import the same Essbase cubes metadata, these 'physical cube columns' disappear (i.e., I cannot see profit, margin, etc. anymore) but rather, the measures are shown with 'physical dimension' with a hierarchy structure (up to Gen4 measures).
The implication is that when I drag the structures to BMM layer and then presentation layers, I am not able to select any measures in the presentation layer.
Are there anyone who can help me solve this problem?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi user,
Obiee 10g had a big problem importing essbase measures. In order for you to create a measure you needed to make the measure dimension and "Account" type dimension which would mostly be the Scenario dimension rather than the Account dimension.
Obiee 11g allows you to import the account dimensino and decide whether to treat it as measures or as a dimension. Once the cube is imported, right click on it and select "Convert measure dimension to flat measures". This will resolve your problem.

    Dear,
we're pointing our content to an WebDAV-compliant server(IIS) instead of  KM of SAP Portal.  Authorization to that is working fine and when the check-in process start, it creating folders and we are getting the java errors, when AE is trying to check-in the actual content files. Error Screen shot below,
Could you please let us know, what changes you have done from IIS side to successful check-in to the Master Repository and what is the system requirement to resolve this(I mean, version of AE and Java and IIS like that). it would be really appreciated, if you could share your views on this.
    Appreciate your kind response.

  • Questions about ABAP Unit (Integrate in class / encapsulate DB access)

    Hi,
i have allready done some Unit Tests. Till this post i have created a report and put my test class definition / implementation there. The report is just a wrapper for testing. The functionallity is impelemented in classes.
My first Question is how to integrate the test code in my class. In all examples they put the code beneath the class implementation. How do i get there? In se80 i can only see the public definition.
The other question is about testing methods, which contains database access. How can i encapsulate the db access for tests. I read abput implementing a seperate class, which handles all db related actions.
    Bye Richard.

    Hello Richard,
it is recommended to keep the domain code and the test code within the same program. Depending on the release in use a Class-Pool (program) offers an implementation include (for any local class) or possibly also a dedicaded test class include.
Put the definition and the implementation of your unit test into one of this includes.
In case your code under test has hard to test dependencies you need to break them. After the hard to test dependency (such as repository access) is separated it can be replaced by use of test doubles (see also http://www.xunitpatterns.com).
Propably the following approach is the easiest one:
    - put any db access into a separate method
    - create a local subclass as test double that overwrites exactely the db access methods with test friendly code
    - run your unit test logic against this local test double
The say "cleaner" way is to:
    - separate the db access to a dedicated repository service class (with instance methods of course).
    - create a test double of this repository class
    - use the technique "dependency injection" and run your test
    Best Regards

  • Repository user name/password

First I would like to say that I am a novice to ODI. I have installed ODI in a windows 7, 64-bit environment. I am trying to connect to my repository (either) and I keep getting this error. I have done a number of things to try and resolve this issue. I dropped the repositories and re-created them. I made sure the drivers were placed in the userlib. I tried to connect to the Master only. I have read a number of logs and forums, nothing that I have run into so far has resolved my issue. Here are the details of the error message I am getting:

  • LSO AE error when connect to repository

    ECC6 Ehp4 SP5, LSO AE 602.5, NW 7.1
We are receiving an error - 'No connection to the master repository' when testing the Master Repository in the Repository Explorer.
KM is set up on the portal server.
    Error:Please verify the settings: WebDavSlide-Repository: [ServerURL=http://host name:port/irj/go/km/docs/documents/LSO/R3P300] com.sap.hcm.IS.shared.repository.access.NoAccessException: No access:401
    Thanks,
    D. Maupin

Can you pl check if the user who is trying to connect to KM is not authorized.
That's why you are getting this error.
The user should have access to connect to KM. Please check the authorisation for this user.
By default that we require basic authentication for processing web dav protocal. The basic authentication is must in any case.
If there are authorization/authentificatin problems in the function test then the Repository Explorer won't work either. This needs to be resolved. You should be using the same ser/password as with checkin for the learning net.
Do you have basic authentification enabled? Do you have Webdav-Properties enabled?
Please check this way. Hope this helps.
    Best Regards
    Chetan
