ES1946 (Solo) Audio controller not recognized

Dear all,
ES1946 (Solo) Audio controller is not recognized on my box. I examined dmesg, it said:
es1938: OPL3 not detected at 0x1090
I've listed my dmesg and rc.conf below. Could anyone kindly look into it, and give me a hint to solve this problem?
Best regards,
Wen

  • Audio CD not recognized with Mini but reads with Macbook?

Error message saying Audio CD not recognized with Mini but reads with Macbook pro. Both machines are using the same Samsung external usb dvd/cd player.
I've tried rebooting the mini, cleaning the disk, unplugging the drive and the Mini still won't recognize the CD's (it's a 3 cd set and all 3 disks aren't working on the Mini.
When I use the same disks and drive with my Macbook Pro everything works fine.
    Any suggestions?

    Certainly a strange one!?
Are these commercial or self made Discs?
Have you tried CD/DVD sharing on the MBP & see if the Mini can read them in the MBP?

  • USB Audio Device Not Recognized by Stream 7 tablet

Half the reason I bought the Stream 7 was to use it has a music player with my iBaso D2 USB Audio DAC Headdphone Amp.
The device is recognnized by my Win 8.1 desktop and every other computer I've plugged it into.  Why it is not recognized as an audio playback device is beyond me.  I've tried all of the suggestions that I've been able to find on the net without any luck.  Is therte some reason why this function has been disabled on the Strwea 7?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Problem Solved!
It turned out to be a combination of the usb cable and the OTG USB hub.  On my desktop the iBaso was cable specific as to the device being recognized.  When I tried the working cable witht the OTG hub on the Stream 7 it failed as usual.  But when I tried the cheap monoprice adapter it worked.

  • Hp pavilion a1250n says multimedia audio controller not installed, sound not working (windows7)

No sound plays with my logitech ls11 speakers. my computer is a hp pavilion a1250n, running windows 7, 32 bit operating system, and a AMD ahtlon(tm)64 x2 dual core processor 3800+ 2.00 GHz
When i click the speaker icon in the lower right corner, and open the playback devices, it says:
Speaker: anvsoft virtual sound device, default device.
When i ran a  troubleshooter, to see if there were any files I should install, i got an error message:
multimedia audio controller couldnt not be installed, driver not found.
In device manager, below the sound video and game controlers tab, it says Anvsoft virtual sound device.
Bellow the other devices tab, it says multimedia audio controler, but there is a yellow triangle exclamation makr over it.
How can I get sound on my computer? Are there any free programs that are compatible that will allow me to have sound?
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this.

  • External audio source not recognized

Hey, just got a mac mini with intel package yesterday at my local Apple dealer. Included keyboard, mouse, monitor and speakers. Everything appears to be working beautifully, except the mini is not recognizing the speakers. All the cords are in the right place, the volume is up, power is on, but it is only using the internal speakers. Does not even list the speakers in the sound utility. Any ideas as to what the problem is? The speakers? The cables? Or the output jack in the mini? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

With the package we purchased, got a set of Elecom speakers, worth about $50. Not familiar with the name, so brought them in hoping they could hook them up to a demo Mac mini to test them. Turned out to be a bad cable. Got a new set and was sure I plugged them into the right jack (the one with the headphone symbol above it), turned them on and all was good. Just a cheap pair of speakers was all. Sorry, dunno if this was helpful. Maybe it's your speakers? Rather than the mini's audio jack.

  • Scsi controller not recognized during ftp install

    Hi all,
As you can tell, this is my first post and my first attemp to install arch.  I downloaded the latest ftp install floppies "Arch Linux 0.5 (Nova)" and  I am trying to install arch on a PII system with and Adaptec 2940UW controller and no cdrom.  I can boot from Tom's recue disk:
    http://www.toms.net/rb/
and the controller is recognized and I can use fdisk to partition the drive.
However, when I boot from the arch install floppies, the controller is not recognized.  When I manually load the module for the controller, ie. aic7xxx, lsmod shows it as unused.
After looking at the boot log using dmesg, I noticed the following, which I don't understand:
    kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k scsi_hostadapter, errno=2
Is this a kernel issue and does anyone have any pointers for me?
    Thanks
    Kevin
PS: I tried my best to search for a related topic.

Thanks for the reply.  It still doesn't work for me.
I noticed that the floppy images have been updated -- the md5sum's have changed.  I will give them a try.
As an aside, the listed md5sum's for the new images don't match the downloads.  I downloaded from several mirrors and I get the same sums, which don't match the sums listed.

  • Audio jack not recognizing head phones

Just bought a new satellite, model C55-B5200. Long story short, the audio jack is not recognizing when headphones are plugged into it.
I have checked to make sure the speakers are enabled; they work fine. I uninstalled and reinstalled the realtek driver from the toshiba model page (2014-04-07 | Version: 6.0.1.7195 ) and am at a loss as where to go next.
    Any suggestions are appreciated!

When you run the Windows Sound applet (enter 'sound' from the Start screen and select 'Settings') does the 'Playback' tab show any indication of headphones?
If you can select a Headphones device from the Playback tab, click the Properties button and check to make sure 'Device usage' is set to 'Use this device (enable)'.

  • Booting from a SATA controller not recognized by BIOS.

I have an USB install of Arch Linux and it works pretty well for me, I can access the files on the SATA drive, browse the intarwebs and code, but I can't really paint on it and that forces me to have a Windows installation on the hard drive.
But the problem is that the BIOS doesn't see the disk and since it isn't a Linux kernel I can't refer to it through UID and I'm not entirely sure GRUB can see non-BIOS disks either, which doing ls from GRUB commandline seems to confirm, as it only lists the USB stick and it's partitions. Is there any GRUB 2 module or other way to have it recognize the disk plugged into the controller, so I can chainload into Windows?
The Windows bootloader seems to be capable of booting from a disk not recognized by BIOS so as long as I chainload into it I guess it'll be all right.
I heard there is some way to stuff the Windows bootloader onto a pendrive or even force the controller BIOS into motherboard BIOS, but I'd rather avoid this and stick with GRUB if possible.
If it's any help here's what the lspci has to say about the controller:

Capabilities: [e0] Power Management version 2
    Kernel driver in use: sata_via
    Kernel modules: sata_via
    Thanks in advance.

No it doesn't and the mobo doesn't have such a setting.
In the end I searched for the controller BIOS on the intarwebs and ended up modyfing the motherboard BIOS to include it with cbrom, though I had to sacrifice the netboot module for it to fit; I didn't use anyway, so no big loss. By chance I didn't screw up anything during flashing and now there is a controller RAID prompt after the usual BIOS screen and I can boot from"SCSI" which is the SATA disk. I can now install Windows no problem and GRUB2 recognizes the disk on it's own too.
But I don't really like this modyfing BIOS stuff, is there seriously no way to do it, save maybe writing my own GRUB2 module by gleaning the code of sata_via kernel module?
Also at some point I think I made ntldr see the disk with unmodified mobo BIOS, but I don't remeber how exactly I did it and anyway the USB with bootloader became 0-th drive, so the Windows of course wouldn't boot (why doesn't it have drivemap, duh). It would be best if I somehow made GRUB2 see this disk with unmodified BIOS and then drivemap and fire the ntldr, but if that can't be done, then oh well.

  • Multiedia audio controller not working HELP!!!!!!!!

upgraded to win 2000 lost drivers to my multimedia audio controller (no drivers) I believe the model number is sc0209 but how do I get the right drivers to make my sound work again? New at this but

The model number for the sound card is located on the PCB circuit board itself. It should be printed something like CT**** or SB****.

  • Multimedia Audio Controller not working..... have installed updates and still not workin

Can someone help me with my multimedia audio controller? I've initially installed the updates from the support page and after reboot the Xi-Fi driver is listed. • USB Midi Controller not recognized by Mac?

    hey there
I have just attempted to plug in my trusty Edirol PCR300 to my mac for the first time. It currently works on my PC
I installed the 2.0.0 driver as per instructions on Edirol website, rebooted, plugged in and turned on the device.
The device is recognized in the system profiler (about this mac etc etc Hardware > USB) however it is nowhere to be found on the midi page of the Audio Midi Utility. One would expect it to turn up here when i press Rescan Midi.... and needless to see it's not turning up in Logic and nor is it an input option on the PCR Editor software.
Obviously i've tried turning it off and back on etc etc.
Running the latest Lion, latest Logic and latest Edirol driver on a Macbook Pro i7 with 8GB RAM.
Any help would be appreciated, i've been trying to get this working for 4 hours now!

    Hi Guys
I have a PCR connected up here, running OSX.7.3, it works fine:
It does need drivers, as discussed in my earlier post.
The OP's issue is probably down to incorrect driver installation, or possible some conflict with other MIDI drivers. If the OP has not solved the problem, I suggest using the Edirol driver removal software, and then re-installing the drivers.
(Always assuming that the keyboard does work OK on another computer, and that the cable is OK).

  • Conexant smart audio 221, not recognized most of the time

My laptop is a HP Pavilion dv2810us Entertainment Notebook
It all started when I changed my OS from vista to windows 7.  Ever since I have been having the "no audio output device installed" problem most of the time.  When I go to device manager there is no hint of a sound device, it is as if the laptop can’t recognize/access my sound device.
Sometimes though, when I turn my laptop on, the sound is working perfectly and my device manager shows Conexant smart audio 221 installed.  When the laptop has sound working and it goes to sleep, sometimes when it awakes it changes to no audio output device installed.  When I try to install the audio driver it says it can’t find the media device. Today I did a OS generalizing procedure to return to default drivers supposedly but it didn’t help.  Any comments, clues, suggestions will be VERY MUCH appreciated.  I really wanna know why in the world isnt my sound device recognized... :[

I have the same problem, sometimes get audio drivers perfectly and sometimes the device manager just does not show it. I tried the SP39679.exe, run as an administrator, and got the message "unable to locate the device"!
I also tried SP40270.exe, successful installation and seems to work fine, but when I restart the computer, sometimes the audio device just disappear again. I tried to install manually, but the problem persists!

  • Blank Audio CD not recognized as Audio only as Data CD

Have recorded many audio CD's using iTones. All of the sudden when I put a new blank audio CD in it mounts as untitled CD or data CD. Have tried 5 new blank audio CD's. iTones will not let me burn it. Have a Sony Music CD recorder and put the blank CD in and it shows recordable. This started with 10.5.7 just within the last week so I installed 10.5.8. Same results. Also inserted a recorded Audio CD and it mounts correctly. Any suggestions.
    Thanks,

Put an audio CD in the tray, wait a seconds, and run 'dmesg | tail' from a terminal and see what kind of output you get.
Don't sweat it, skottish. I didn't think of looking at the kernel message until you mentioned it. Something definetely doesn't look right here. I also failed to mention some other information. I have a cd-writer and dvd-writer on the same IDE channel and if I put an audio cd into the old cd-writer then asunder can see that drive and it works. Problem is that it's old and slow. I know the DVD drive works, I just verified it under another operating system that shall remain nameless. Please advise.
