ES4 as a managed hosted solution

Hi there does anyone know where I can get the full ES4 suite as a hosted solution, ( i work for a small organisation and we cant afford to buy the full suite outright), however if there is a hosting/cloud based company that offers access to this service, it would be within reach for our business). Although this may appear to be in the wrong category, its not as livecycle ES4 designer requires access to ES4 suite in order to create mobile foms.
kind regards
Keith

Carl,
I recently decided to make the switch from Ruby on Rails to Apex and I’m really impressed. I’m still learning Apex but I’ve accomplished with Apex in a week what would have taken me a month in Rails. In all fairness I must admit that I’ve never reached become more than an intermediate level programmer with RoR.
The main problem I do have with Apex however is the availability of providers. At the moment I’m “hosting” at apex.oracle.com and it is perfect for developing my application and for the initial stages whilst my site “grows”; but I do have dreams that my little site will generate income one day and then I will have to start looking for an Apex provider.
I for one would love it if Oracle allowed their current apex.oracle.com “clients” to upgrade to a paid service once they start earning $’s with their pet-projects. I would prefer a low basic monthly fee combined with traffic based rate.
Maybe Oracle could work out a deal with Google so private individuals like myself can pay by placing Google adds on their sites; especially whilst the income of the site is low / insufficient to pay for the running costs.
Thanks for a great product.

  • How to fetch and display arbitrary log files from a managed host?

We are creating a small management portal for a custom application and need a way to display, in a browser, the contents of an arbitrary log file located on an EM managed host. The effect we are looking for is similar to what you get when you show the contents of a database alert log using EM.
I want to extend the EM agent to get the log and display the contents, but see two problems: (1) it seems like we would have to schedule the fetch of the log contents to happen on a regular basis and would not be able to do it on demand and (2) storing the results in the EM repository seems like it could consume a pile of storage, even if it only stores the logs for 24 hours.
I am pretty sure we can bypass the repository somehow because I think the "show database alert log" EM process does so. Of course, I can't really be sure how this code is getting the alert log, but it seems reasonable to assume it is using the management agent.
Is there some API for the EM Agent that I am missing?
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

From within OEM it doesnt look possible. User defined metrics (UDM) can only return number or a string. The alertlog fetch is done via alertlogViewer.pl while being passed a couple of parameters.
OEM does have a preliminary/rough api available at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/oem/emx/index.html but I havent seen anyone make use of it yet.
If you use just a web connection then you will probably run into security issues as a web server can usually only view/access stuff under their htmldoc dir.
Seems like some non-OEM very custom code is what you seek..

  • How to customize E-Business Suite Forms Managed Attachments Solution

    Hi
i had requirement in that i have to configure E-Business Suite Forms Managed Attachments Solution , i have to add an extra attribute in header region of oaf Form
how can i add an extra attribute in that region .
In the Line item entry The left box shows Oracle E-Business Suite configuration and connects to the Oracle E-Business Suite configuration database; it includes transaction tables, custom PLLs, and AXF PL/SQL procedures. To the right are two WebLogic Server boxes, one connecting to an AXF configuration database and containing AXF 11g , and the other WebLogic Server box connecting to a Content Server database and containing Content Server 11g and Content Server functionality (components, search engines, and services, including the AF Grant Access Service).
    Thanks regards
    Rajendar

If you can use any unused variable already available in the header part that will be a quick and easy solution.
On other hand if you are very much sure you want to add a new header field then you have to make changes in all the layers including AXF DB and OOTB SPs.

  • How do we determine the HTTP authentication header for our hosted solution?

How do we determine the HTTP authentication header (adobeconnect_admin_httpauth) from our hosted solution? The documentation says to find it in a custom.ini file but I have no clue how to access that.
I need to supply that to the adobeconnect plugin used with a Moodle instance, screnshot below.
If it helps, when I click "Test Connection", I see the following output.
A series of tests have been run in order to determine whether the Adobe Connect Pro server has been properly setup for this integration to work and to also determine whether the user credentials provided in the activity global settings has the correct permissions to perform the neccessary tasks required by the activity module. If any of the tests below have failed, this activity module will not function properly.

Could any one please help me ?

    Have you completed this step?
Creating a Credential Using Enterprise Manager
    1. Log in to Enterprise Manager.
    2. Right-click on your domain under WebLogic Domain.
    3. Click Security and then Credentials.
    4. Select the oracle.wsm.security map. If it does not exist, follow these steps:
    a. Select Create Map.
    b. Enter oracle.wsm.security in the map field and click OK.
    5. Expand the oracle.wsm.security map.
    6. Click Create Key. The key is now available for selection.
    7. Enter MA_CSF_KEY as the key name.
    8. Select password in the Type field.
    9. Enter a username and password for a valid Oracle WebLogic Server administrator
    (for example, weblogic and Welcome1).
    10. Click OK.

  • Change Management in Solution manager 4.0

    Hi,
I am trying to configure the change Management in Solution manager 4.0. I have created the project assigned the logical components, but when i go to /n/tmwflow/cmsconf its blank(no nodes to select).what could be the reason?
    Regards,
    Cherry

    Hi Cherry,
what about your TMS configuration. Did you switched to extended transport control and modified your transport landscape to transport groups?
Please check your project with: /n/tmwflow/charmchk.  The result could be helpful for error analysis concerning wrong tms configuration.
    kind regards

  • Assigning the End User Role for E learning management in Solution Manager

    Hello Team,
In the E Learning Management in Solution Manager, I have to a assign the End User Role for each Bussiness Process. While assigning the role, I couldn't able to assign the role of type " JOB ". What have I do to get the type as JOB instead of "Organizational Unit" and "User"?
    Regards,
    Shyjith.K

    Hi,
Have you maintained your Organizational data? Did you assign any job to any user in the organizational hierarchy. You need to maintain you PPOMA_CRM first in order to assign any roles there.
    Hope this helps

  • License & Installation for Hosted Solution

I deploy my small applications (Tomcat with PostgreSQL) in a
Hosted environment (eapps). I pay all of $30/month so I don't
command multiple processors. All I do is drop WAR's into Tomcat
webapps! I am concerned about the OS versions of Flex Data
Services. Do they need to do an installation? They have: Operating
Systems - CentOS 4 Linux (white label version of Red Hat
    Enterprise)
If this is a problem are you aware of a hosted solution with
Flex Data Service, Tomcat, JBOSS & PostgreSQL?

This is an important question that I would love to get a
straight answer to. I have been trawling the web trying to find an
answer to this to see what kind of hosting plan I need to get to
run FDS. I cant seems to find a definitive answer! Now from the
bits of information I can gather and through intuition I know that
with a VPS I can install and configure FDS since you download FDS
as an OS dependant executable and not as a webapplication archive -
yet as I understand it Flex Data Services is only a webapplication
that can run within Tomcat as seems to be the case with the demo
installation - is this correct? If so why can I not install the
application on a standard shared tomcat host?

  • How to access introscope enetrprise manager in solution manager

    Hello All,
I have installed Introscope enterprise manager on Solution manager system  in windows successfully
Now when I am executing  introscope enetrprise manager, just a command prompt opens and nothing happens.
    Any ideas?
Also How can I access introscope enetrprise manager?are there any different ways to do it?
    Rohit

    Hi Rohit,
If your Enterprise Manager is setup and running. You can access it via wily webview or Workstation.
These are the standard GUIs avaialble for accessing data in EM.
    1) Webview is a webbased tool, and you can access it through browser - http://<hostname>:8081/webview
    2) Workstation- you have to install this in your PC and connect it to EM, Its more powerful tool than webview and you need to hava pre-requisite java version installed.
but, by which mehtod you are trying to open EM??.. EM contains only logs.
When you say setup is complete, is the EM's services running?..
Also, while performing the Basic Configuration- You have to map the EM data to solution manager and perform the Diagnostics setup step. Then you can launch the webview from workcenter -Root cause Analysis.
    Hope this helps.

  • Activate design manager (sandbox) solution using power shell - SP2013

    Hi All,
I have a  design manager (sandbox) solution and deployed in site collection. I am trying to upload the new version using power shell.
Uninstall-SPUserSolution , Remove-SPUserSolution, Add-SPUserSolution and finally doing Install-SPUserSolution on that time i am getting the following error " Install-SPUserSolution : This file may not be moved, deleted,
renamed, or otherwise edited." kindly help me for this issue.
    Regards,
    Santhosh

Can you please provide more details on your solution package? Did you use SharePoint Design Manager to create design package? If that is the case then if you read the following article it reads and
"In SharePoint 2013 you cannot uninstall an imported design package, and you should never attempt to deactivate a design package through the solution gallery."
I think if you read the article it might be helpful.

  • Why does my Virtual Server reboots when VM Manager host reboots

I recently discovered that whenever I reboot the physical host where my VM Manager is running, one of my VM servers reboots as well, and thus bring down the VMs running on that server.
The VM server is also the ServerPool Master and Utility Server.
    Is this by design?
Here some info abouyt my set up.
I have three physical hosts in my set up. One running the VM Manager, and the other two as the Virtual Servers.
I have configure a private network for them to talk to each other. On the VM Servers, the default gateway and nameserver is set to be the VM Manager host. But I don't have a name server running. The hosts ips are on in the /etc/hosts file.
    Thanks.

    user2593278 wrote:
I recently discovered that whenever I reboot the physical host where my VM Manager is running, one of my VM servers reboots as well, and thus bring down the VMs running on that server. The only reason this could happen is if there is some form of shared storage being presented by the physical machine running VM Manager that used by the Oracle VM Server(s). Otherwise, there should be no interaction between VM Manager and VM Servers. All communication is initiated by the Manager to the ovs-agent on the Server Pool Master. Assuming the VM Manager goes away, the Pool Master will continue to run and monitor the pool.
Can you check the /var/log/messages on the VM Server for any indication about what caused the reboot?
