ES4 Turnkey Install Error on Windows 2008R2

I just did a Turnkey install of LiveCycle ES4 on Windows 2008R2 from the ES4 trail download on Adobe's site.  I'm using the JBoss Windows installer.  I received a few errors durning the install related to setting up the ConfiguratonManager.bat file which I've included from the install log below.  The install fails with errors.  I took at look in the ConfigurationManager/bin directory and there are no batch files.  The install did not fullly complete and JBoss and MySQL were not installed.

I figured out I caused this issue.  I was installing on a VM and mapped a path from the VM running on my local machine to a path ouside the VM on my local machine.  I received the UNC path warning, but thought it wouldn't be an issue since the files were still on the local machine, but I was wrong.  The LiveCycle installer really does work from mapped drives.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post:

  • Itunes 10.5.3 update install errors on Windows

So if your getting errors when trying to update your Itunes software (say for instance to be able to use your new iPood Touch, required upgrade) and getting errors such as "A network error occurrred while attempting to read from the file C:\WINDOWS\Installer\iTunes.msi", then there is hope!!
Also if you get the error "Errors occurred while installing the udpates.  If the problem persists, choose Tools>Download Only and try installing manually." there is hope.
First if trying to run an update, you'll probably get the second message first.  Once you use the dialog at the top of the updater screen "Tools>Download only>" etc, and run the manually downloaded version of the update, then you might get the first error message listed above.
If this is the case then cruise over to this link and complete this method as it worked great for me at least.  I was getting slightly different messages than the orginal poster but it still worked for me.  Good luck-
Tks to B Noir and JereJohnson for the link and solution-
    http://https://discussions.apple.com/message/17782501#17782501

Tks for the suggestion mitch, however my issue was solved with the method in my post.
For the record I tried disabling my antivirus orginally to solve the update issue to no avail. It didn't work for me since it wasn't the underlying issue.
Once I fixed the installer package problem, I had no problems running the reinstall/update with my antivirus software on and running.

And how can I install then the next full version "directly"??
    And I don't really understand.
Adobe Updater cannot install this update, and tries it again after a month, it is downloading this update once in a month, and when it fails, closes itself,  and says sorry, see you later in november? And when it fails, I cannot say, please stop bugging me with this.
Almost the same problem with the Adobe Media Player, which cannot play even the files advertised in its own browser, : adobe trainings from adobe related sites, and cannot update itself. It's almost brutal. How does this happen?

  • NI_VISA install errors on Windows 2008 R2

I have installed LabView 2009 SP1 on a relatively modern PC (XeonW3520, 12 GB RAM, Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise) computer running some equipment in an optics lab.  However, I got a variety of errors during installation of drivers.  As I need to communicate with a NI GPIB-Enet/1000, I tried installing the 2.8.0 version of 488.2.  However I got 4 errors.  Per the install program, I rebooted and tried reinstalling.  That did not get rid of the errors.  The errors were of the form:
The "NI-DIM 1.11.0f0 for 64 Bit Windows" has failed with the following error:
Error 1722.  There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A program run
as part of the setup did not finish as expected.  Contact your support personnel or
    package vendor.
I answered yes at the continue prompt.  Other errors were with:
    NI-MDBG 1.10.0f0
    NI-MXDF 1.11.5f1
    NI-ORB 1.9.3f0
    (all for 64 Bit Windows).
I then figured out that these are part of NI-VISA so I downloaded the most recent version
I could find (5.0.3) and tried to install that.  I got the same errors, rebooted and tried again
and got the fun "Please correct the problem and try again" message.
Any hints on how to correct the problem?
I'm logged in as Administrator and on the machine console (remote desktop is configured and licensed as that is part of our site license).
Will these errors prevent LabView from working correctly?
Will they prevent programs compiled with C++/C using IEEE-488 from working correctly?
I have been running a slightly older version of LabView under Windows Server 2008 (32-bit, not R2) and didn't have installation problems.  I was using the 32-bit version of Server as some hardware I'm using only had 32-bit support (of both Server 2003 and Server 2008) until recently.
    Thanks,
    Stuart

I've tried again.  Removed all NI software and removed the installation directory.  Rebooted and logged in as Administrator (Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise).  Installed LabView 2009 64-bit from a burned DVD (University site license) with logging enabled.  No errors shown on screen.  Rebooted.  Then installed the default stuff from the Feb 2010 driver DVD using logging.  Some errors but now in log.  Rebooted.  Then installed 2.8 of 488.2 (I have a new GPIB-ENET/1000 which requires 2.8) using logging.  Got errors but now in another log.  Rebooted.  Then installed VISA 5.0.3 with logging.  Got errors but now in yet another log.  Rebooted ...
I don't know if I need VISA or not.  The instrument VIs for some of the instruments connected by GPIB use VISA calls.  So I just did the default installs for drivers, 488.2 and then VISA.
I've zipped the four installation logs into one file - still quite large (25 MB).  I'll try attaching - no idea if it will work.
Does not work - got error (in pink) - so how should I get them to you?

  • 8.1 install error on Windows Home Server

WHS, which is based on W2k3, is having the same install problem as regular Windows Server 2k3... it fails with the error that the OS must be at least XP SP2.
Is there a new rev of the installer coming out soon to resolve this problem? I used iTunes as my central hub for music in my home and would like to run the new version.
    Thanks!

I posted a response to the following thread detailing how I was able to get Itunes 8.1.0.51 to install on my computer running Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 Enterprise. It involves editing an MSI file but its a real simple fix that appears to be working just fine. It should theoretically work for you since as you've already noted, Windows Home Server is built of the same Kernel and support files as W2K3.
Here's the thread in which I detail my fix:

  • CS4 Install errors in Windows 7 - Need help!

I just got this great new ASUS G73JW laptop with windows 7 home premium on it, 8 gigs of Ram, Intel Core I7, Nvidia 480 video card.  One of my biggest reasons for getting it was to run CS4 Master Collection on it so i can work from the road.  However, each time I try installing CS4 I get the same errors about certain applications not being installed.  It comes up with an error and says "could not install the following applications" and of course all the applications it can't install are Photoshop, Flash, Premere, After Effects, etc.  Bascally none of the programs will install with the exception of Media encoder, flash player and media player.
I've gone on the interenet to find help and have tried using the clean tool to clean out the entire installation, I tried running it in different modes for Vista, and XP but everytime it comes up with the same errors.  Can anyone help with some ideas on how to install this successfully?

I'm having a similar problem. I'm trying to load CS4 Design Premium onto a Toshiba i7 running Windows 7, 4GB ram. An installation error appears about halfway through Disk 1. Photoshop, Dreamweaver, InDesign, and Illustrator will not install. Adobe Support Advisor identified the error as UninstallColorProfilesRollback and referred me to kb403891.
I was unable to follow Solution 1 because I didn't have permission to remove the files. I followed Solution 2, but was still unable to remove the files described in solution 1.
I would appreciate any possible assistance.

  • Creative Suite 4 Design Premium install error with Windows 8

This suite has an error when trying to install under Windows 8 Enterprise.
Is there a fix for this?

From what source are you installing? If it's from DVD, you might consider copying over the stuff to the hard drive. For fixing the database issue you may simply run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool. Also some of the locations of the variuous Adobe install related databases are listed here: Important Directories.  Delete the .db files where appropriate, then attempt a reinstall.

I have tried to install CS$ Design Premium about 8 times!  Keep getting, "error as UninstallColorProfilesRollback and referred me to kb403891".   I have tried Solution 4 times.  Does not help.  Finally clicked, "continue" installation, and it appears to have installed "with errors"; "you may not have full functionality"... message.  Can anyone help?

    Hi Jtown,
Lets go ahead and try the below suggestions and check if that helps.
Solution 1: Rename the following files:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\caps\pdb.db
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\caps\Media_db.db
Make sure you dont touch caps.db under the same folder. Now run the installer again and check.
Solution 2: Give full permissions to the below locations:
    C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Drivers\Color
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Color\Profiles
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Color\Profiles
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Color\Settings
