ESB content on NWDI

Hi experts,
We are composing enterprise services on Enterprise Services Builder and developing them on CAF. We currently have one DTR track to control our CAF development components. Now we need to control the versions of ESB content too. How can we accomplish it? I've been searching about XI tracks, is it a possibility to our scenario?
Best Regards,
Gabriela

I am not sure about XI specific tracks.
But I think you should get a fresh track with a fresh product for ESB developments. The runtime systems would remain same and hence an additional track should solve the purpose.
Please let me know if getting an additional track caused any reasons for doubt or questions.

  • Deployable portal content in NWDI

    Hi,
Sorry if this is described in the documentation, I didn't find the right answer.
I have a set of roles, pages, Web Dynpro iViews, a portal desktop, etc. These were manually created in the Portal Content Studio. How do I create a deployable SDA, which will automatically create the same content when deployed? Is it possible to make it out of an EPA? And finally, what kind of project do I have to create in NWDI to store the DC?
    Thanks and regards,
    Krasimir

    Hi,
as far as I know, PortalContentStudio is for creating PortalContent (Roles, Pages, iVies,..) and DeveloperStudio (NWDS) ist for creating Applications (which can be integrated into the portal through some kind of iView).
Besides that these two do not have anything in common. The application an how it is called in some portal are separate (there could be different ways to call the same application).
Why need to make an SDA out of an EPA - EPA's can be easily imported into another portal (transport) as is?

  • Transporting EP Content over NWDI

    Hello,
we are trying to transport EP Content over the NWDI. We have a Netweaver2004s with SP8. The documentation we are refering to is "How to... Transport EP 6.0 Content."
On Page 25, we are creating a development component but we can't find in our NWDS under the content  the Enterprise Portal Content Archive.
    We only see UME.
Is it not possible anymore to transport EP content with Netweaver 2004s?
    Thanks
    Alexander

    Hello Alexander,
It is still possible. You have to add the DC type 'Enterprise Portal Content Archive' manually, as described on page 24 of the PDF (Configuration of SAP Netweaver Developer Studio). You have to add an entry to the componentTypes.xml file.

  • How to transport content from a NWDI to a nes NWDI

    Hi
I have an old installation on a server with bad responses and have installed and configured a new NWDI on another server.
I need to export the development component from the old one to the new one.
Hov to export content from NWDI?
    Regards
    Kay-Arne

    Hi,
    I would try this way....
--> Create new track, setup new buildspace, workspace on the  CBS/DTR of the new NWDI server.
    And then for content copy..
--> Download the asembled SCAs from the old NWDI server and check it in in my new track OR
--> sync the content from old NWDI server to the local filesystem and then upload/add it to the new track with the help of NWDS as described here:

  • Transport of Portal Content

    Experts,
I need to transport the portal content (only the IViews, pages, systems etc and not the background WD application!) from the dev box to the QA and later Production.
Do i use the transport functionality provided in the portal for this??
Can the portal content be extracted into a DC so that I can get the content into NWDI and tranport it through the landscape.
Whats the default approach(could also be the only approach)???
    Thanks,
    Vineeth

    Hi Vineeth,
For Transport you should have System Administration Role..
    Go to
System Administration -> Transport -> Export
Select the folder or content.. Right click.. Click Transport Package in context menu. And Follow..
Save that package in ur system.
Then import in ur degination system
    Thanks and Regards

  • Problem with CMS track for a SCA

    Hi,
in my NWDI, I have a track which contains a SCA (for SAP_ESS),
can i chekin that track in my local NWDS, modify that DC (the webDynpro project), and directly deploy it from my NWDS studio on a sap j2ee server, instead of cheking out and importing that track in subsequest runtime-systems, (i am trying to do so, because i have a problem getting that sca deployed in the subsequest runtime systems)
    please help

You will have to create a track for the ESS content in NWDI and then check out the DC which you are looking to modify. You can always test the application directly by deploying it from NWDS - Check in is not necessary if it doesnt have any dependencies on other DC's / objects.
    Thanks,

  • Java iview development

    Hi Friends
I am very new to this area and directly starting with EP6.
I have requirement to development java iviews(content) for EP6 ,but I am not getting a pointer how to develop it,if there is sample app available(java code) and how to develop with J2ee engine will be very useful to me.
I looked at iviewstudio and there all the material deal with EP5 and tomcat but my requirement is for EP6 and there is nothing existing in SDN for EP6 content development, there are some presentations but they also talk about EP5.
Can I develop java iview as content in NWDI and J2EE engine(EP6) directly or do I need to install tomcat.
ANy sample code(tutorial) and a basic example with step by step procedure and also describing what all interfaces, portal classes I need to use to develop(EP6 + J2ee + NWdi) it.
    ANy help is highly appreciated.

  • MII 12.1 business scenario

    Hi in Master guide stated
To implement the following SAP MII business
scenarios, you must use SAP ECC 6.0 or
    higher:
    - Shop Floor Quality Integration
    - Content Versioning
    - Transactions for BAPI Consumption
    1. Shop Floor Quality Integration (is this means QM module of ECC) - why do I requre ECC 6?
    2. Content Versioning, Netweaver has own content versioning NWDI. Is this what they mean? Why do I need ECC 6?
    3. Transactions for BAPI Consumption - what does is means? Why ECC6?
    thanks
I reviewed this thread  Re: MII 12.1 Questions - BAPI Consumption  , but it does not really clearify my doubt!

The Shop Floor Quality Integration (essentially the QM module) and the Transactions for BAPI Consumption pieces are both exposed in Solution Manager, specifically the Business Process Repository.  If you have Solution Manager with ECC then you can also view the supporting documentation for them, including prerequisites. Again, in the guide it labels that ECC section as optional, which leads me to your last question.
MII "standalone" means MII without ECC. MII does need Netweaver in order to run (as indicated in the guide with the X). Some companies use MII for integrating their shop floor systems with a "one stop shop" view. This can be done without ECC, but MII's flexibility allows for integration to the corporate level. Some shops that are SAP savvy, link with NWDI, ECC, Solution Manager other products. Others use MII as a middleware layer and use other solutions for their front ends.

  • Oracle ESB - Message routing support & content based routing

    Hi Friends,
Can anyone please let me know how message routing and content based routing is happening in Oracle ESB.

    Check this...

  • Content Based Routing in ESB

    Hi All ,
I needed some help on the content based routing feature in ESB .
I have an ESB Process in which Data is extracted from a Database(using Select operation) and I have a column X based on whose content I want to invoke the next set of target services . I had assumed having 3 different routing rules with the Filter expression based on the content of X will do the work .This works only when I have one record for a batch of records it doesnot work .
Wanted to know how does it evaluate for a scenario where we have multiple records in a payload with the value of the column on which we are doing content based routing varrying across the payload ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
As James stated esb is processing the incomming recordset as one message so it applies your xpath expression to that message as a whole. Anyway, in your case, if you want to process records from a database table one record at the time i would go for the db polling mechanism and change my database model to include a logical delete column (eg a column processed which contains a Y or a N). You can not split a multiple record message in esb itself into separate messages for each record.
    Kind Regards,
    Andre

  • Which XI Content packages do I have to import to ESB

    Hello,
we want to use a web service from SWCV SAP APPL 6.05 with PI 7.1 .
For this we imported package "XI CONTENT SAP APPL 6.05" into PI ESB.
When we try to create matching outbound interface for the service we want to use,
    we get an error message
"Software component version SAP_BS_FOUNDATION 702 cannot be analysed. SWCV ID: 36054c80... does not exist in Enterprise Service Repository and System Landscape Directory"
Do we have to import the related package "XI CONTENT SAP_BS_FOUND 702" and any further underlying SWCV into ESB too?
If yes, is there a special sequence of the packages for importing?
    thanks
    Roland

That's not a good idea. Usually such applications expect to find their additional content files in a specific location. Consider moving other data to the external drive to clear up space. Or simply install OS X just on the SSD, then change the location of your Home folder to another drive to which you have copied your entire Home folder. After which you can remove the data content in the Home folder on the SSD.
How to use an SSD with your HDD
If you are going to use an SSD as a boot drive together with your existing HDD as the "data" drive, here's what you can do.
After installing the SSD you will need to partition and format the SSD using Disk Utility. Then, install OS X on the SSD. After OS X has been installed boot from the SSD. Use Startup Disk preferences to set the SSD as the startup volume.
Open Users & Groups preferences. Click on the lock icon and authenticate. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on your user account listing in the sidebar and select Advanced Options from the context menu. You will see a field labeled "Home dir:" At the right end you will see a Change button. Click on it. In the file dialog locate the Home folder now located on the HDD (HDD/Users/account_name/.) Select the folder, click on Open button. Restart the computer as directed.
When the computer boots up it will now be using the Home folder located on the HDD.
Another more technical method involving the Terminal and aliases is discussed in depth here: Using OS X with an SSD plus HDD setup - Matt Gemmell. This is my preferred approach because I can select which of the Home's folders I want on the HDD and which I don't want. For example, I like to keep the Documents and Library folders on the SSD because I access their content frequently.
Be sure you retain the fully bootable system on your HDD in case you ever need it.

  • NWDI in the XI Scenario - SLD

    Experts,
I have created a track to transport the XI content.
We have two SLD servers in the landscape. The first is used by XI and contains all the required XI business systems and the second is used only by NWDI and contains only the SC definitions.
    My question-
DOes the SLD for NWDI need XI system details???? According to my understanding, NWDI needs only the component information from the SLD.
Bascially, do i need to import the business system data into the SLD that is being used by NWDI???
    thanks,
    Vineeth

Did a little research and found that the SC information is sufficient for NWDI.

  • Starting with NWDI

    Hi,
I wanted to know the steps for starting web dynpro java projects using NWDI. I am getting a bit confused about the steps to be followed.
I need to know the following.
    1) Steps to set up NWDI ( NWDI users set up, defining products, sca, dc, tracks if required)
    2) How to create a DC using NWDI, also is SCA required , if i decide on having just one application per DC ? Do we need dev, test and PRD server set up at the beginning for DTR ?
    3) Do i need to create a SCA to deploy applications ?
Lets say i need to develop a simple application using NWDI . What would be the steps to follow along with developer, administrator responsibilites ?
    Apprecaite your help

Wanted to know if we have to define the products , sca,... Cant we start directly with building one DC each for each application . e.g salesorder, purchaseorder
i am asking this bcos i dont want to club them together in one sca as any changes during maitenance i will have to take the entire SCA for modifying.
    Appreciate your guidance.

  • Questions on NWDI server management.

    Hi
We implemented NWDI on the same server as that of the portal.
(8GB RAM, 2.61 GHz AMD Opteron proc 285, Win 2003 OS)
A lot of space in <b><drive>:/usr</b> is being utilised whenever I run the import in NWDI, so from time to time I will have to delete the log files to create space.
is there any place <b>where I can default these log files to fall on a different drive location?</b>
Also I learnt that CBS utilises lot of drive space during its operation and when I check the CBS service in Visual Admin
<b>rootFolder is pointed to ./tem/CBS --> where is this located? I am unable to locate this?</b>
    According to  http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/53/75b3407e73c57fe10000000a1550b0/content.htm
The CBS can also point to C:/temp/CBS
I have enough space in C: drive <b>so can I point the rootFolder to  C:/temp/CBS, will this affect the development process that is going on now?
Can this arrangement help improve the performance?</b>
    Please advice
    Thanks

    Hi there,
Yes it is possible to create distributed applications for Lync server
Regarding the services technically all the Lync services should be monitored since each of them is responsible of a certain workload. but the main service is the lync front end service that once it is stopped it will affect client sign-in.
regarding monitoring the network it depends on what is the traffic that you want to monitor
