ESB unable to connect to existing Web Service

Question

Use Case: We have an existing webservice which is RPC encoded and that had to be invoked from Oracle ESB.
Version used : oracle soa suite 10.1.3.1.0.
This service had to be deployed in ESB for common platform across the enterprise, where other services can be plugged-in later.

Error : when try to configure as SOAP Service from ESB is "The selected porttype is using a message that is invalid for ESB bcause it is multi-part or has a simple type.
Options we think are
1) Convert the RPC encoded to Document wrapped. If this option has to be followed, what are all the factors taken to be account ?
2) Try to design the existing functionality using adapter and connect to it. (don't know whether this is possible as the deadlines are bit tight).

Thanks very much! It works.
However, another problem comes. For the two fields that I "POST"ed, it seems that one can reach the servlet but one cannot. When I retrieve the values from the servlet using "req.getParameter("XXX")", one of them got null. But obviously my applet does not send null values.
Any other thing is needed? Thanks!
