Esbigtbl tablespace growing fast, help...

Hi to all,
There is a Tablespace in the es_mail schema that is growing more or less 1GB a day (esbigtbl). Please can someone explaim me if that is normal, how to know why is gowing so much and how to limit the growing velocity?
Regards
Luis Neves

Hi,
At last we solved our problem, we had BUG 3036037 and after solving that everything became normal. Now i have another question:
We "cleaned" 9/10 of our mail tablespaces, but Enterprise Manager keep saying that they are in full use (but its not, for sure). Is it possible to compact or shrink them? And why EM says that they are full?

    >> How the undo tablespace grows very fast., how can we control on it.
It’s all depending on the DML transaction activities on your database i.e. frequent inserts, updates, and deletes.

How/What you tried to resize it. Can you show the details??
Moreover, Do take a look at the Oracle Documentation on "Managing the Undo Tablespace"

  • Undo tablespace growing fast

    Hello All
We are having issues with undo tablespace growing... the oracle version is 10.2.0.1.0
the table is holding around 400000000 records and this table is also partitioned by range
any reason for this undo tablespace growing by at an high rate
    regards
    Kedar

Undo tablespaces are special tablespaces used solely for storing undo information. You cannot create any other segment types (for example, tables or indexes) in undo tablespaces. Each database contains zero or more undo tablespaces. In automatic undo management mode, each Oracle instance is assigned one (and only one) undo tablespace. Undo data is managed within an undo tablespace using undo segments that are automatically created and maintained by Oracle.
Every Oracle Database must have a method of maintaining information that is used to roll back, or undo, changes to the database. Such information consists of records of the actions of transactions, primarily before they are committed. These records are collectively referred to as undo.
    Undo records are used to:
Roll back transactions when a ROLLBACK statement is issued
    Recover the database
    Provide read consistency
Analyze data as of an earlier point in time by using Oracle Flashback Query
Recover from logical corruptions using Oracle Flashback features
When a ROLLBACK statement is issued, undo records are used to undo changes that were made to the database by the uncommitted transaction. During database recovery, undo records are used to undo any uncommitted changes applied from the redo log to the datafiles. Undo records provide read consistency by maintaining the before image of the data for users who are accessing the data at the same time that another user is changing it.
You confuse TEMP with UNDO tablespace.

  • Temp tablespace grow too big???

we have EBS R12.1 on LINUX X86_64 with ORACLE database version 11.1.0.7. every week we have temporary tablespace grow too big (> 32 GB) and out of extent.
Based on our research some some sql statement or report cause this issue. if we 'analyze stratistics", most time problem can fix. It cause us some time need run "analyze statistics" several times in one day.
Does anyone have solution for this?
    Thanks.

  • Temporay tablespace grows rapidly. . .

    Dear All,
When I run a large query the temporary tablespace grows continuously.
The max size of temporary tablespace is 6G.
I set Autoextend on, next size is 10m and maxsize is 6291456M.
    Also I set the SORT_AREA_SIZE = 256m.
How to stop the rapid growth of temporary tablespace.
    Thanks in advance,
    PratHamesh.

If your Oracle version is 9i you can set your PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET into a appropriate value(i.e. PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET=1G to avoid sorting on TEMP tablespace.
Frequently sorting happens on your DB and it supposed to shrink.
You can also think of allocating other users to an specific TEMP tablespace but you have to identify which users it is.

I have a iphone 4s on ios6 battery run down fast help plz

Apple is infamous for being restrictive and controlling.
The iPhone also doesn't connect to faster 4G networks, except the 4S version from AT&T, but whether you'll see noticeably faster speeds will likely be hit or miss. If you own a apple product? I feel for you, it like owning that old beat up rusty car you have to park way out back in the parking lot, and you pray no one see's you getting out of it.
Android phones are like PCs - they are extremely customizable - by carriers, handset makers and owners. Virtual keyboards, phone dialers, wallpaper, home screen widgets and much more can be done.
All told, Android is likely to be the Windows PC equivalent in the smart phone market, and the operating system is well-positioned to soon  become the leading smart phone platform in the United States.
In closing, if you like being led around by the hand, go and get yourself one of those iPhones, and then stop crying about what you can not do with it.

  • SYSAUX tablespace grow too quick????

We have EBS R12.1 on LINUX system. Recently I found our development EBS database SYSAUX tablespace grow very quick. The SYSAUX tablespace has two data files and each data files size is 6GB (total 12 GB). In one month all 12 GB space are gone.
    My questions are:
    1. what objects or reports or ??? take this much space?
    2. how to delete un-need space?
    3. what is reasonable SYSAUX size?
    Thanks.

I double check SYSAUX space usage and found it only use less than 100MB. Why SYSAUX show all 12 Gb space are gone?

  • Need fast help printing RGB .pdf to Epson 7880...

I am forced to print a RGB .pdf from Acrobat.
And having trouble understanding  how to set the Destination printer/paper/ink profile, here is my best guess but the blue RGB background is considerably lighter than Photoshop Manages Colors and I need to match Photoshop prints.
Here is my Acrobat CS6 Color Management settings Pro9880_7880 PLPP260 is my Epson profile):
I don't think I have it because the Epson Advanced Color Settings is giving me CMYK SLIDERS (not "OFF"):
All filled boxes and text are sRGB, the .pdf is tagged sRGB, Acrobat Object Inspector confirms the RGB profile is embedded.
I built the original poster in InDesign and Exported PDF (Print).
Any fast help greatly appreciated (I am on a deadline)...

    Did some more testing.
Apple's Preview app prints my PDF Source>Print Profile the same as Acrobat 10.1.6.
But I think I found the point where the problem is occurring in InDesign.
The screenshot below shows the Photoshop sRGB document (left) with the blue background, 22/56/158.
The right side shows InDesign blue background (sRGB is Working RGB) with the identical 22/56/158 RGB fill.
Open the screenshot in Photoshop (use the embedded profile, sRGB), and sample the blue background in each app.
There is a considerable difference between them that could account for the difference I am complaining about.
    SEEING IS BELIEVING...
What this tells me is Photoshop is different than InDesign because doesn't display or print my RGB fill the same...
So I have to wonder which one is actually correct?

  • EBS Database R12.1 temporary tablespace grow too quick??

we have a EBS R12.1 database on Redhat LINUX server. Recently this database every day Temporary tablespace grow at least 1 GB. This database temporary tablespace (with two temp files) has been grow to 45 GB.
    Does anyone know what wrong?
    How to fix problem?

I eventually figure out this temporary tablespace grow is cause by OEM.
    SQL statement is:
    /* OracleOEM */ SELECT end_time, status, session_key, session_recid, session_stamp, command_id, start_time, time_taken_
    display, input_type, output_device_type, input_bytes_display, output_bytes_display, output_bytes_per_sec_display
    FROM (SELECT end_time, status, session_key, session_recid, session_stamp, command_id, start_time,

splay, output_bytes_per_sec_display FROM v$rman_backup_job_details ORDER BY end_time DESC) WHERE rownum
    = 1;
ANyone know why this statement will take 30GB temporary space on EBS R12.1?
    Thanks.

  • Fast help - Recover CDs

    HI there,
I need some very fast help if possible (before tomorrow !) ! I bought a very lightly used Unibody - late 2008 model - Macbook Pro from eBay (warranty is still on until October 2009) but it did not come with the recovery CDs!
Now, instead of sending it back I'd like to know if there's any way to have the CDs from Apple?
I'd like to do a fresh install of Leopard and also install Windows XP via BootCamp as I work with it every day!
    Thank you very much!!

Get the computer's serial number (located inside the battery compartment or use About This Mac from the Apple menu and click twice on the line with the Version number) then call AppleCare and ask about purchasing replacement discs.

  • SYSTEM tablespace is growing fast in 10g

    Hi,
    Using 10.2.0.1.0 on Linux
My SYSTEM tablespace is growing much faster on 10g than it was on 9i, in 2 month it went from 350mb to 500mb, I don't to add more disk, incase there are issues with my database, I want to know why it is growing.
I have read docs on why SYSAUX grows on 10g but not SYSTEM.
    SYSTEM size - 500 mb
    Schema/size on System are:
    SYS______455.8125 mb
    SYSTEM______15.25 mb
    OUTLN______0.5 mb
In this database I only have 1 very large schema that is 200 GB
Any ideas, reasons, shall I increase it 700mb?
In 9i my SYSTEM tablespace was very static.
    Thanks for any help.

Are you using Oracle's audit feature, either standard or FGA? If you were using standard auditing before moving to 10g check that the purge task is still running successfully.
Verify that no users have their temp tablespace set to system. If is still possible for this to happen on 10g.

    2) Two LOBSEGMENTS 85GB + 25GB =110GB
    3) about 10 Indexes of Table1 are of 15 to 17 GB
Table1 is being purged on a daily basis, but still the tablespace is growing like anything ( now the over all size of the tablespace is itself 190GB).

Q2. How to shrink the table/ tablespace? Is it possible to do it online without impacting the users/business?
