Esc key not working in windows 7

Hi,
I have a HP Pavilion dv6-4XXX series. It's almost been 2 years I bought this notebook.
Recently I faced an issue. The "ESC KEY" has stopped working. However I could find that it's working fine in BIOS but not when I am logged in to windows. I have windows-7 installed.
Please let me know what could be the issue and the solution for the same.

You’re having a problem with the ESC key not working.
Go to device manager and uninstall the keyboard and restart the computer. This should uninstall and reinstall the driver for the keyboard.
Here is a link to device manager.
If the problem has not been happening for very long, you might try a System Restore. This will take the system back to before the problem started happening without affecting any of your files.

I'm using Captivate 5 and after publishing an exe project, when we view it, I cannot close the full screen published exe project via the ESC key. Nothing happens. I've heard of the Enter key closing out exe files, but not about the ESC key not working.

Have you ensured that Captivate has been updated with all service releases?
I could be wrong but I seem to recall a service release fixed this issue.

Brightness and volume control keys not working with windows 7?

brightness, volume control and some other keys keys are not working with windows 7 with macbook pro retina. Can I fix it?

Have you installed Boot Camp drivers? You need them to make your computer work properly on Windows, and to use your function keys as Play or Pause, volume and brightness keys.
To install them, follow these steps:
1. Press the X key while your Mac is starting to start into OS X.
2. Open Boot Camp Assistant and tick only the option to download Windows support software.
3. Windows support software will be downloaded and Boot Camp Assistant will ask you to burn it into a DVD or USB drive, so do it.
4. Start into Windows, insert the DVD or USB drive and install Boot Camp drivers. Your Mac and your volume and brightness keys will be working after installing the drivers

Esc key not working in Mavericks.

Since installing Mavericks, my Esc does not work at all - not for anything. It does not remove the right click dialogue box, does not take a youtube video out of full screen, does not unselect a 'copy' field in Excel etc. Has anyone had this experience? What can I do?

I could be wrong but I seem to recall a service release fixed this issue.

Esc, f1, tilde keys not working on windows 7.

i am not having th e win 7 32 bit/64 bit drivers,
which might be the problem.
but the esc key is not working so i am not able to turn on my camera.

Can you share what system do you have?
Turning the camera on and off is Fn+Esc.
If that's not working
Make sure that the camera driver and the Energy Management / Power Management are installed.
If not you can download it from here.

Esc key not working with JDialog

We are facing a KeyListening problem with JDialog. We developed an application using JRE 1.4.0. When we migrate from 1.4.0 to 1.4.2.The Esc keys(All keys) associated with the JDialog is not listening. Following is code piece is showing the Esc key. The same piece of code is working with 1.4.0 and with lesser versions. U'r help will be appriciated.

Satellite A350 - FN keys not working after Windows 7 installation

Sorry for my bad english, i am forum Portugal and i don't are very good at english.
1 I installed Windows 7 on my pc, installed the drivers 7 and FN was to give. However I had another problem and had to format the pc again, now install everything again and functionality not the FN.
2 Without the drive functionality that is FN + F6/F7 brightness works. But with the drive not installed anything. It seems they are in conflict.
3 The bar at the top of the screen that appeared no longer appears. But if I go to Start -> All Programs -> TOSHIBA -> Utilities -> Settings for TOSHIBA E-cards. With it open, squeeze "Allow the mouse to show the cards" and they appear at the top, as hidden. But just gives me no way, I wish to give to the FN.
Anyone know how this is resolved?? It gave me immense way and even have tried everything, installed everything, there is nothing to block the FN key? A feature that blocks this key?? Please help me.
My PC as it says in the title is Toshiba Sattelite A350D 10Y PSALME....

To enable Fn key functionality, you need to install:
TOSHIBA Value Added Package (v1.2.28)
Utility Support Driver for Windows 7 (v1.0.25.5C)
If you installed Vista version of those packages, it may not work properly.
You need to Windows 7 versions specifically for the A350

FN key not working in Windows XP - Satellite L305-S5885

Hello, I have recently downgraded my Toshiba Satellite L305 S5885 from Vista to WindowsXP. Everything is working fine except the function (Fn) keys for controlling screen brightness, volume. Some work like mute but most do not do anything when I try to use them. All drivers installed fine the device manager shows nothing missing or errors.
I have tried installing all the drivers for the keyboard, Fn keys, hotkeys and still I cannot get them to work at all. Has anyone been able to get these keys to work after installing WinXP or do you know what drivers/software I am missing? Can these keys be used in XP or do they only work in Vista?

Woudl advise a BIOS upgrade when downgrading to Windows XP, the European BIOS driver for your version of notebook is;

ESC key not working outside PS in Vista...

This haunts our users since we migrated to Vista. When Photoshop CS2/CS3 is running under Vista the ESCAPE key does not work correctly with other programs. When PS is running, the escape key works only when pressing SHIFT+ESC together. This is extremely annoying when multiple programs are used, what could be the root of the problem?

I have the same problem with a completely new installation of Photoshop CS4 on Vista 64-bit. When I remove all plugins, it works fine. But it's quite stupid to do it that way, isn't it? This is a complete list of my plug-ins, so you can check there is no third party

FN + ESC Key Not Working

After reinstalling SSD and OS, I cannot get the FN+ESC key combination to work for Model/Serial Number. I installed the SP5150.exe but did not work. I see some discussions about putting it in path, can someone please explain in detail? Thanks

FN keys not working after Windows reinstallation

After a reinstall of windows my fn keys do not all work, some do but the small icon that used to appear that shows the fn button process whilst using it does not come up either

I dont know what notebook and Windows you have exactly but if you use Vista or Windows 7 you have to install Toshiba Value Added Package and Flash Cards Support Utility. After this your FN keys will work again!

Brightness shortcut keys not working in Windows 8 or 8.1

I'm no longer able to use the brightness shortcut keys after I've installed the Lenovo power management tool in Windows 8 on a Ideapad U300s.
When the Lenovo power management tool is NOT installed on the system, pressing the shortcut keys brings up the Windows UI in the upper left hand corner of the screen and the display bridghness is adjusted accordingly.
However, as soon as the Lenov PM software is installed, the Windows brightness indicator shows up ONCE and I can no longer adjust the brightness with the shortcut buttons.

At the moment, there aren't any Boot Camp drivers ready for Windows 8, so it's normal that you have problems. Wait until Apple updates Boot Camp drivers, normally with a OS X update

CS4 Reset View Keyboard Shortcut (ESC key) Not Working

Thanks in advance to anyone who can solve this:
Every keyboard shortcut in Photoshop CS4 works fine for me except one: the keyboard shortcut to reset view after using view rotation (the ESC key). Oddly, the keyboard shortcut does work in CS5 (I installed the demo). I've checked to ensure my keyboard is set to US English, which it is. I've tried resetting the Photoshop settings, and even reinstalling. Nothing. This particular keyboard shortcut doesn't seem to be one that can be changed through the keyboard shortcuts menu, and I have never customized the keyboard shortcuts anyway.
Some more information about my setup -- I'm using an Intuos 4 tablet, and do use the wheel to rotate the view. However, the keyboard shortcut doesn't work when I use the tool with my mouse or the wheel on my tablet, so it seems unlikely this is the issue. Regarding my hardware acceleration, I have a current gen nVidia card with plenty of horsepower, and all other OpenGL enhancements work fine.

Sk-2061 Keyboard Multi-media keys not working on windows media player

I have an HP ENVY Recline 27-k150xt TouchSmart All-in-One CTO Desktop PC that came with the SK-2061 keyboard. The problem is like i said in my subject. However, I have also tried restarting the HID services and setting them to automatic which I read helped with the volume keys...that did not fix my multimedia keys.
All that i can do with the MM keys is when I have the player active i can press the play/pause button and then the play/pause button on the player is selected but I still have to hit the space bar to "press" the button.
I need to be able to pause and play the media player while in a document (i'm transcribing some audio files).
