Escape sequence on sender file adapter
Hello XI experts,
My scenario is,
Customer System => <CSV File> => File Adapter => Integration Engine
I'm thinking of using Sender File Adapter with File Content Conversion
and setting "," as FieldSeparator.
If there is "," in a text field and I don't want the Adapter to recognize it
as separator, how can I difine escape sequence?
For example,
#default#
aaa,bbb,ccc,SAP,Oracle....
->
aaa
bbb
ccc
SAP
Oracle
#My requirement - define & as escape sequence#
aaa,bbb,ccc,SAP&,Oracle....
->
aaa
bbb
ccc
SAP,Oracle
Any infomaton is appreciated.
Regards,
Tomoatsu
Hi,
You can use the following parmeter: NameA.enclosureSign
Check here for the same:

Required Changes in FCC Paramenters for Sender File Adapter.
Hi
I am Doing File-File Scenario.I am using FCC in the Sender File Adapter. I have defined the structure as below.
My Source Structure
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<ns0:MT_Source xmlns:ns0="http://city.net/filecopy">
<Message>
<Id>123</Id>
<Head>
<Id>123</Id>
<Filename>test.xml</Filename>
</Head>
<Body>Helloworld</Body>
</Message>
</ns0:MT_Source_FILE>
So for the above structure, I have defined the FCC Parameters as
Document Name: MT_Source (Message Type)
Document Namespace:http://city.net/filecopy(Namespace)
Recordset Name: Message (root node)
Recordset Structure: Message,1,Head,1
Recordset Sequence: Ascending
Recordsets per message:1
Keyfield Type: string
In the Table Rows I have defined
Message.fieldFixedLengths: 3,10
Message.fieldNames: Id, Body
Message.fieldSeparator: ,
Message.endSeparator: 'nl'
Head.fieldFixedLengths: 3,8
Head.fieldSeparator: ,
Head.endSeparator: 'nl'
Head.fieldNames: Id, Filename.
My Input Text file
123,Helloworld
123,text.xml
I am Getting Output as
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
- <ns:MT_Source xmlns:ns="http://city.net/filecopy">
- <Message>
- <Message>
<Id>123</Id>
<Body>HelloWorld</Body>
</Message>
- <Head>
<Id>123</Id>
<Filename>test.xml</Filename>
</Head>
</Message>
</ns:MT_Source>
I should get Body field after Head Structure as in the Source Structure, So Please what changes do I need to do in the Parameters Specified above to get the desired Output.
So How should I define the FCC Paramenters For Sender File Adapter ?
Any Help Would be Appreciated.
Regards,
VarunHi Everyone,
I could Succeed to some extent.
I have defined the parameters as follows
Recordset Structure: Message,*,Head,1
Key Field Name: KZ
Key Field Type: integer
In the table, I defined the Parameters as
Message.fieldFixedLengths:1,3
Message.fieldNames:KZ,Id
Message.keyFieldValue:1
Message.keyFieldInStructure:ignore
Message.fieldSeparator:,
Message.endSeparator:'nl'
Head.fieldFixedLengths:1,3,8
Head.fieldNames:KZ,Id,filename
Head.keyFieldValue:2
Head.keyFieldInStructure:ignore
Head.fieldSeparator:,
Head.endSeparator:'nl'
Message.fieldFixedLengths:1,11
Message.fieldNames:KZ,Body
Message.keyFieldValue:3
Message.keyFieldInStructure:ignore
Message.fieldSeparator:,
Message.endSeparator:'nl'
My source text file
1,123
2,123,test.xml
3,Hello World
my output is
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
- <ns:MT_Source xmlns:ns="http://city.net/FileCopy">
- <Message>
- <Message>
<Id>123</Id>
</Message>
- <Head>
<Id>123</Id>
<Filename>test.xml</Filename>
</Head>
</Message>
</ns:MT_Source>
I got the output almost correct except I am not getting the value in the Body
Any help would be appreciated.
Please correct me If I am wrong.

Varun

Sender File Adapter - FCC - No incoming field separator - How to do FCC?
Hi,
I have a sender File adapter and I need to do the File Content Conversion but there apparently no incoming field separator and the file ocntains just running text - no data records but just information.
For example the incoming file is something like:
The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited 27JAN2009 PAGE 1
Incorporated in Hong Kong with limited liability
ABC IAL LIMITED ABU DHABI, UAE
ABC MIDDLE EAST Account No. 001-8888888
ABU DHABI Payment Set AAA
BBB MAIL BOX NO.99 Contact Person ABC LIMITED
7777777777 Telephone
AUTOPAY LIST - PROCESSED
(AUTOPAY-OUT SALARY)
Payment Date 27JAN2009
First Party Narrative . 66666666
Second Party Narrative .
The Message type that I am mapping to contains:
MT_XXXX
WA
Item
Item2
Item3
This is so that the information can be mapped to different field areas and send across to the Receiver Mail Adapter. In the mail i receive, i get the running text. I tried giving the field separator as '0x09' but it is not working.
I have also tried WA..fieldContentFormatting to nothing but again no luck.
I have tried with Recordset Sequence with Ascending and variable and have also tried Recordsets per Message with * and blank - but it did not help.
Please advice.
Regards,
ArchanaHi,
I assumed that it was tab but when I made the change in FCC, it did not work.
I would still like to have a output where it looks like below if more than 2 types of information in 1 line as below:
ABC IAL LIMITED ABU DHABI, UAE
ABC MIDDLE EAST Account No. 001-9999999999999
and not something like:
ABC IAL LIMITED ABU DHABI, UAE
ABC MIDDLE EAST Account No. 001-999999999999
I am not sure what to do here.
Help please.

Sender File Adapter Not Showing in Decentral Adapter Engine
Hi,
We have recently implemented a Decentral Adapter Engine on a windows box. The adapter engine seems to be working fine because my adapters show and seem to work fine in it.
However, when I define a Sender File Adapter that uses File Content Conversion message protocol instead of just File messaeg protocol, the adapter does not show up in the decentral adapter engine.
I made sure that Adapter Engine parameter in the Sender File Adapter shows the new adapter engine but that does not seem to be working. If change the Adapter Enginer parameter to show the Central Adapter Engine, then I can see the Sender File Adapter on the Central Adapter engine and it works fine. (Note: The Central Adapter Engine is installed on a Unix box)
Here are the paramters I defined for the Sender File Adapter:
- Transport Protocol: File System (NFS)
- Message Protocol: File Content Conversion
- Adapter Engine: (new Adapter Name)
Source Directory: (
server/drive/path)
File Name: purchaseOrder.txt
Quality of Service: Exactly Once
Poll Interval (secs): 60000
Poll Interval (msecs):
Retry Interval (secs):
Processing Mode: Archive
Add Time Stamp (checked)
Archive Direcotry: (
server/drive/path/archive)
Process Read-Only files: (not checked)
Processing Sequence: By Name
Fiel Type: Text
File Encoding:
Operating System Command:
Additional Files (not checked)
Content Conversion Parameters
Document Name: MT_Request_File_Data
Document Namespace: http://nxy.tots/fg_admin
Document Offset:
RecordSet Name: Purchasing
RecordSet Namespace:
RecordSet Structure: Purchase_Record,*
RecordSet Sequence: Ascending
RecordSets per Message: 1
Key Field Name:
Key Field Type: String(Case-Insensitive)
Purchase_Record.fieldFixedLengths: 8,4,2,10,10,12,18,12
Purchase_Record.fieldFixedType: char
Purchase_Record.fieldNames: Request_Action,Request_PO_Num,Request_PO_LN,Request_PO_Date,Request_Purchasing_Org,Request_Purchasing_GName,Request_Created_By,Request_Vendor_Name
Purchase_Record.fileContentFormatting: trim
Adapter Status: Active
Advanced Mode: (not checked)
Your help is much appreciated.Hi Alaa,
look into this document:
http://service.sap.com/nw-howtoguides -> Exchange Infrastructure -> Troubleshooting: Adapter Engine 3.0 (Expert Call slides)
If the File Adapter works without conversion, then you should count the number of fields in a row. If it differs from the configuration, then it runs on error.
Another idea is to check the content type of the file. When you do not enter a File Encoding, then the file adapter assumes utf-8. If the file is for example latin-1, then the number of characters in a row are not counted correctly.

File Content Conversion Problem: Sender File Adapter
Hi All,
In Sender File Adapter, how to spilt the single line into different lines using + as a separator. Plz see below my source file.
#SMESS=IV01:672633SAP:676968:::NL51:02:11+
COPS=678713:676968:070416:IV01'3:11IVFR=678713:PDA and'IND 2'9206 AD'Dtn'INIVDA=070416IVNR=6264008195:676968add1
#EMESS=0+
In above txt file there are 3 lines.
1st line starts with #SMESS
2nd line starts with COPS
3rd line starts with #EMESS.
In 2nd line, if u observe there are 3 lines separating by +. My task is, I have to spilt the 2nd line into 3 lines using + separator.
I already used the xx.endSeparator as '+' to spilt the line but it is not working....
Could anyone help me how to do this. This is very urgent

Sender File Adapter: No Messages
Hi,
I have configured a sender file adapter to read a flat file using file format conversion, in the file poler mode using NFS. I could confirm that the File is being read, and the adapter status from the Adapter framework (is:port/AdapterFramework) indicates the adapter is working fine (Green light, and last message processed at XXX........).
However, I did not find any messages from SXMB_MONI.
Further, I got inot the RWB, and found the following Audit log:
It indicates an error "Transmitting the message to endpoint http://kansbwul01:50000/sap/xi/engine/entry?action=execute using connection AFW failed, due to: Received HTTP response code 404.."
What is the problem, and how can I resolve it?
Thanks

I am trying to define the SENDER FILE ADAPTER in the following way (I have referred mostly all the blogs) but my file is not picking up for some reason.

Additional Parameters
File_MT.fieldFixedLengths 10,10,5
File_MT.fieldNames VendorNumber,VendorName,City
File_MT.fieldSeparator
File_MT..processFieldNames fromConfiguration.Hi Naveen,
Do check the following things,
>>Note : I have been asked to give the Transport Protocol as "NFS" (Whether this is the problem???) I have summarized the complete details below. Please help me
1.If your file resides on your local network/local computer give NFS(Network file system). if your file resides on a FTP location give FTP and also give the FTP log on parameters.
Additional Parameters
File_MT.fieldFixedLengths 10,10,5
File_MT.fieldNames VendorNumber,VendorName,City
File_MT.fieldSeparator
File_MT..processFieldNames fromConfiguration
2.If this structure does not match with the input file structure the file adapter wont pick up the file. So check for the help document provided by SAP in the following path.
help.sap.com --> Documentation --> SAPNetWeaver --> SAPNetWeaver '04 --> English --> process integration --> SAP Exchange Infrastructure --> connectivity --> Adapters --> File Adapter
Your file contains three records
V123456789 A123456789 Bosto
V234567890 B123456789 Atlan
V334587900 C123456789 Austi
You have mentioned the fieldSeperator as space but there is no File_MT.endSeparator '/n' which differentiates between each and every row (record).
Parameters for Record set Structures mentioned in the sender adapter configuration does not match with the actual file structure .
Try giving exact structures in the configuration of sender file adapter.

Sender File Adapter cannot send single record per message ?
Hi,
I have scenario flat file to jdbc. but then why the sender file adapter didn't split the record to become single record per message eventhough i have set it in "Recordsets Per Message" = 1. ?
Document Name MT_APINVOICE
Document Namespace urn:file:jdbc:apivinvoice
Document Offset 8
Recordset Name INPUT
Recordset Namespace
Recordset Structure RECORD,*
Recordset Sequence Ascending
Recordset per Message 1
Key Field Name
Key field Type String
RECORD.fieldFixedLengths 10,5,10,10
RECORD.endSeparator 'nl'
RECORD.fieldNames F1,F2,F3,F4
Please advise
Thank You and Best Regards
Fernand>>but then how to make for example more then 1 records per message.
like 10 records per message. should i set RECORD,10 ?
That is right. Just try it out yourself.
@Shesagiri,
Number of record is decided by the parameter Recordset structure and number of recordset with in a message is decided by Recordset per Message.

German umlauts :Sender File Adapter
Hi,
I am trying to configure Sender File adapter,but it is not working properly for German umlauts.
I have tried encoding UTF-8, UTF-16, ISO-8859-1,ISO-8859-2, ISO-8859-5 but none of them are working.
Can anyone please help me out in this.
Thanks a lot.

ShwetaHi Stefan,
I have already added this module exactly in the same way.
But can you please confirm the sequence
Module :
localejbs/AF_Modules/PayloadSwapBean Local Enterprise Bean swap
localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean Local Enterprise Bean Transform
localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean Local Enterprise Bean Transform
Transform.ContentType text/plain;charset="UTF-8"
Transform.ContentDisposition attachment;filename="ABC.csv"
Also,I noticed one thing
The content is corrupted in SXI_MONITOR but it is correct in payload of File as well as Mail adapter in Message Monitor(RWB)
Thanks.

FileName in Sender File Adapter Module
Hi Folks,
In my sender file adapter have written a module to read the picked file name. The protocol used is NFS.
Notice that the file name read in the module has the absolute path, including the directory path. E.g The file name xyz has to be picked from source directory
XIServer\Outbound. In the module when I retrieve the file name, it comes up as
XIServer\Outbound\xyz. Is this expected behaviour?
I was expecting just the file name<xyz> to be retrieved.
Thanks,
AnandHI,
Create an UDF and write this code.
DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
DynamicConfigurationKey key =
DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
String ourSourceFileName = conf.get(key);
return ourSourceFileName;
in Adapter u will have Adapter specific parameters check the file name check box.
Using this UDF u will get the file name at target side.

Advance select for source file in Sender File Adapter
Hi
I am trying to utilise the parameter 'Advance Selection for source file' on a sender file adapter to pick the file from multiple folders
My problem is that this parameter that is listed on the SAP help is not getting in File accessing Parameters.
I am running PI 7.02 (NW702_07_Rel)
Service pack 07
Has anyone come across this before?
any suggestions on how to do this?Hi,
In PI7.0 the property exists. I have used it previously. I think SP was 13.

Mapping problem due to FCC in sender file adapter
Hi All
I am doing File( Flat File ) to RFC Scenario.it is working fine..
the problem comes in mapping with multiple records.
FCC at sender file adapter is used
my Data Type are :
Source DT Target RFC import parameter(table).
E2ED20* ITEM*
KEY VBELN
VBELN POSNR
E2E24* CHARG
KEY
POSNR
CHARG
<b>*->>multiple occurence
E2ED20 and E2E24 are 2 segment ,KEY is used in FCC to identify E2EDL20 & E2EDL24</b>
My source text file is like this :
E2EDL20 0200
E2EDL24 xyz
E2EDL20 0201
E2EDL24 abc
E2EDL24 efg
E2EDL24 mln
E2EDL20 0202
E2EDL24 gty
so the payload should be :
0200 xyz
0201 abc
0201 efg
0201 mln
0202 gty
in <i>FCC ignoer record set= true</i>
otherwise is not called...
i try to use split by value & use oneasmany , not helpfull.
in message mapping when i checked th field VBELN -> display queue
i am getting an array 0200
0201
0202 in white fields

Multiple Exclusion Criteria[Exclusion Mask] in Sender File Adapter
Hello All,
I have a requirement to specify multiple exclusion criteria in the 'Exclusion Mask' property of a Sender File Adapter, i.e. I need to pick up files that correspond to 111*.txt from a specified source directory, but I would also want to exclude specific individual files that go by the following names:-111ACC.txt, 111INV.txt & 111PUR.txt.
I have tried the following - Specified 111*.txt in the 'File Name' field and in the 'Exclusion Mask' field specified ACC, INV & PUR - the exclusion criteria separated by commas. But this does not seem to work. All the 111* files are getting picked up.
Have gone through a couple of weblogs that deal with exclusion masks, but they do not talk about multiple exclusion criteria.
Is there any other way I could accomplish this?
Thanks,
AnandHi,
Try this config.
Give *.txt in filename. and Directory as <YourDir>
In exclusion mask give 111ACC.txt
Below this there will be a table. Add two Entries
Dont add anything to FilenameMask.
Directory ->FileNameMask--->ExclusionMask
<yourDir>->--->111INV.txt
<YourDir>->--->111PUR.txt
Try this and get back.
Regards,
Sudharshan

Errro when referring a Bean in Sender file adapter
Hi
I have created a sample code and deployed in the server and when i refer that in the sender file adapter module processor using the naming format
localejbs/sap.com/com.vas.mod/GetFileNameBean
where
com.vas.mod is the EAR Project name
GetFileNameBean is the Bean name
I am getting the erro in the XI Adaptor monitor as follows
<b>- 2006-07-31 13:06:51 UTC: Error: NameNotFoundException: Path to object does not exist at com.vas.mod, the whole lookup name is localejbs/sap.com/com.vas.mod/GetFileName.</b>
I checked theJNDI name in the server it is exactly the same.

Archive file with errors in sender file adapter not working! please help!
Hi Experts,
I have a file to RFC scenario. the input is a XML file. I have setup the flag in sender file adapter channel for archiving the input files with errors. But it is not working.
For testing I have used an invalid xML file for example without the main XML tag. I have also tested with a MSWORD file saved with.xml extension. But in both the cases the files are not getting archived.
My archive location permissions are fine and in fact normal archive operation is happening. That is, if I select the processing mode as "Archive" and gave the Archive directory then files are getting archived. The problem is only with the "Archive faulty source files" option.
What am I missing? DO I need to do some more configurations?
What are the prerequisites if any for this option?
How to test this?
Please help me! I will be greatfull to you all!
Thanks & Regards
