Escaped characters & in LSO Test player after LSO 600 upgrade

Hi All,
We were told that we wouldn't have top touch courses or tests after the LSO 300-600 upgrade. We have found special chars like & showing up as & in test questions. Has anyone else seen this? We submitted a message but got no satisfaction from SAP. Apparently we have to touch 1000s of courses. Many languages. Help!!!
Thanks,
Doug

    Hi,
    Is it possible to change the text of a button which is in the LSO Test Player application?
    We would like to amend the text for the finish test cmd button.
    If this is not the best forum for this, please can you suggest where would be more appropriate.

    HI, Niladri.
    If It was in authoring environment during testing WBT local, it would be 4),5) relevant for you.
    1) Check config of your LSOCP <j2ee-server>:<part>/lms/checkconfig?sys=<backendsys>&client=<client>
    2) See configuration http://<J2EE-server>:<port>/lms/mediator/config
    3) Check tech users(LSO_CP, CMS_User) roles and acess in backendsys
    3) Also check RFC SAP_LSO_BACKEND
    4) Downgrade Java\reinstall
    5) Use another version of LSOAE

  • Is LSO content player on an independent server?

    We try to install/configure LSO.  When it comes to the content player, we are not sure whether it is an add-on to ERP or EP.
    Would you please explain ? Thanks!

    Hi,
    The Content Player (LSOCP), is based on a Java Platform, so you have to install it and configure in your SAP J2EE Engine.
    Depending on your ERP version (i suppose 6.0.X), you have to install the corresponding version;
    - LSOCP 600 (no EHPs)
    - LSOCP 602 (With EHP2)
    - LSOCP 604 (With EHP4)
    Follow this thread to solve some issues after installation:
    Unable to play content in LSO Content Player.

  • LSO content player Button Label

    Hi,
      In LSO content player, I would like to customize the button label " End Test".
    I have gone through the jsp and html pages and did not find any reference to it.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Vasudha Reddy

    Did you check in the following XML file?
    jspstrings_en.xml file : You can find it in the J2EE 630 under the following path: \server0\apps\sap.com\com.sap.hcm.ls.webapps\servlet_jsp\lms\WEB-INF\xml
    Please let me know if this helps.

  • LSO offline player configuration

    hi team,
    Could someone shed some light on LSO offline player post installation configuration. The standard installation guide doesn't talk anything about the offline player configuration.
    As per my knowledge, the offline player installed on the local PC directly connects to Content Player through http session, so is there anything that we need to mention like Content player URL in the offline player. so that it will directly interact with Content player everytime.
    i believe there are won't be any functional changes in the backend right, on the LSOFE. please explain.
    -durga

    Hi,
    Where as i know there is no functional change required for this other than normal configuration for LSO.
    Need to provide credential whenever you want to connect to backend system .

  • How to install the OffLine Player for LSO

    Hi ,
    I looking for a documentation in order to install the OffLine Player for LSO , and also if the Learner Portal will propose the install on every PC ussing the Learner Portal  ?
    Thank you .

    Yes, there is a document in Service Marketplace which discusses this. I am only familiar with LSO 300.
    https://websmp201.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_FRAME=CONTAINER&_OBJECT=011000358700000107422007E
    I don't recall if it is on the standard course details page or not (we have done a lot of customization to our Learning Portal), but we have a separate section on our course type details page which reads as follows:
    Download Course
    You can play this course offline if you want, for example, on a laptop. To do so, you must download the content files to your computer. Please note the following:
    - The actual download and subsequent display is done with the help of the Offline Player, which must be installed on your PC. Install Offline Player
    - When you switch back to online playing, you can synchronize the progress you made offline with the data in the Learning Portal.
    Download Course
    Please note that there is a requirement to have the Java SDK loaded on the computer in order to deploy the Offline Player.  This is big hassle to incorporate into the installation process, but we had our IT group create a batch program to 1st install the Java SDK, followed by installation of the Off-line player.

  • How to replace escape characters in a string ?

    Hi All,
    In my application I came across a problem where I want to replace a substring (contains escape characters also) with another string. The below shown code will replicate my problem :

    }Here I want to replace "\\bullet\\tab" with "B". I am unable to move further. Please help/suggest me in this regard.

    Thanks in advance.If the String you're trying to replace contains a slash you need four slashes (double it for java, then again because String.replaceAll takes a regular expression)
    So I think what you're looking for is:
    String newStmt = stmt.replaceAll("\\\\bullet\\\\tab",  "B");I haven't tested that though.

    Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
    *https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile
    There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
    If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

    return retour;
    The function 'bewaringenList' populates a <SELECT> with parent-names and
    "setList(document.VraagForm.gemSelect, bewaringen[this.selectedIndex][2]);" populates the depending <SELECT> with child-names.
    Some names contain single quotes (like "&#039;t Zandt") and are displayd in the select-box as "&#039t Zandt".
    I expected that the quotes could be replaced by escape-characters by 'filter(invoer)' but this does not work.
    Is there a generic way to show these characters?
    Ben

    I don't understand why but this filter solved the problem:
    function filter( invoer) {
    retour = invoer;
    retour = retour.replace("&#039;", "'");
    return retour;

    Bug 5561224 - MIGRATION OF MAPPING REQUIRES CHANGE IN CONFIG TO ALLOW VALIDATION
    against OWB 10.2.0.1
    but these bugs are fixed from 10.2.0.2

  • Bug in replace all. escape characters are not working.

    Hi,
    My requirement is that whenever i see ":" (Colon) in the string then i want to replace it with (\:). So i tried
    String escapedTitle = "title:the world is not enough".replace(":", "\\:")
    and to my surprise, when i printed escapedTitle i got
    title\\:the world is not enough
    instead of
    title\:the world is not enough
    (note the back slash in the string)
    I want to ask why there is a different beehavious of escape characters? I am using JDK1.6.0_06

    Sorry for the last post. Please try this:
    public class test
    public static void main(String a[])
         String escapedTitle = "title:the world is not enough".replaceAll(":+", "\\:"); //or [:]+
         String escapedTitle1 = "title:the world is not enough".replaceAll(":+", "*"); // or [:]+
         System.out.println("Another String is "+ escapedTitle);
         System.out.println("Another String is "+ escapedTitle1);
         System.out.println(System.getProperty("java.vendor"));
         System.out.println(System.getProperty("java.version"));
    output is
    Another String is title:the world is not enough
    Another String is titlethe* world is not enough
    Sun Microsystems Inc.

    Please let me know why i am not getting : as escaped (\:) with replaceAll method.
    i want string escapedTitle as Another String is title*\:*the world is not enough

  • Template cannot contain escape characters

    I created a database function which takes a varchar2 variable as input and passes back a number as output.
    I am using pre mapping process to call this function and I created a constant with the value I want to pass to this function. When I try to validate my mapping I am getting this error
    Template cannot contain escape characters.
    Why am i gettign this error any ideas as to how to fix this. I know for sure the join of the constant to the input mapping process is causing this error but my constant variable just has
    'xxxxx_xxxx' no other characters.
    Thanks

    Hi
    Are you using the 10.2.0.1 production release, I think this is bug 5403652. It should be fixed in a patch after (10.2.0.2 onwards), you could also try set based only code generation and see if this bypasses the problem (there is a comment in the bug indicating it is a row based code gen bug).
    Cheers
    David

  • Dealing with escape characters

    I have a command that works if I represent it as "\003"+command+"\r" because my command needs to be preceded by the char 'x03' and tailed by the char 'x0d'. The literals "\003" and "\r" are being converted as I wish into their equivalent byte values.
    If I use Java string variables 'start' and 'end' to hold the values "\003" and "\r" and I issue my command as 'start+command+end', the start and end values are NOT converted into byte values. They remain represented as they are written i.e my string command is preceded by '\003' and ends with '\r'.
    How can I convert escape characters stored in string variable into their byte equivalents?
    David

    Please show us the code, because what you say isn't clear. If the Strings are written as
    String start = "\003";  // etx
    String end = "\r";   //crIt should work.
    Often this sort of thing is easier to do with character variable. eg.
    char start = 3;  // etx
    char end = 13;  // crI also wonder why you are using etx (end of text) as the start of text, the usual choice would be stx=\002. Also, none of this has anything to do with "byte" values, they are characters and take 2 bytes each. Your network code can do that conversion for you after you choose your character set. Is it UTF8, Latin-1, or some other.

  • Unit test fails after upgrading to Kodo 4.0.0 from 4.0.0-EA4

    I have a group of 6 unit tests failing after upgrading to the new Kodo
    4.0.0 (with BEA) from Kodo-4.0.0-EA4 (with Solarmetric). I'm getting
    exceptions like the one at the bottom of this email. It seems to be an
    interaction with the PostgreSQL driver, though I can't be sure. I
    haven't changed my JDO configuration or the related classes in months
    since I've been focusing on using the objects that have already been
    defined. The .jdo, .jdoquery, and .java code are below the exception,
    just in case there's something wrong in there. Does anyone have advice
    as to how I might debug this?
