Escaping text queries with backslash

Question

According to the documentation, we can use "\" to escape characters in a CONTAINS query. However, when I escape a keyword like "NT", Oracle Text gives a parse exception.
select * from myTable where contains(myColumn, '\N\T') > 0;
ORA-20000: Oracle Text error: DRG-50901: text query parser syntax error on line 1, column 5 ; nested exception is java.sql.SQLException: ORA-29902: error in executing ODCIIndexStart() routine
Is this a bug?

Put curly brackets around it.
