ESH_IX_PROCESS_CHANGE_POINTERS: "No search connectors selected"

HI all,
Today when I rebuilt my TREX indexes using ESH_ADM_INDEX_ALL_SC for EA-HRGXX and then ran program ESH_IX_PROCESS_CHANGE_POINTERS to schedule the automatically I got the message "No search connectors selected". My search connectors have generated and searches are possible with TREX.
The only caveat is that some of the indexes have had changes made to the search object connector templates and the extractor class is not currently compatible with the existing node. However, these indexes still work - the data is just not extracted for these additional nodes.
Any thoughts welcome.

Dear experts,
I am not sure if someone can help me. We are working with BCV reports. We have built one report linked to a query.
We have a infoset query Z copy from QUE_ITEMS ( standard) and a search connector Z copy from 1RPM_ITEMS ( standard),
The stndar search connector have a lot of fields as input fields Language, My Objects, Scope ... ( that are fields that aren't in the query infoset).
I need modify my Zconnector to add a new field- proposal ( It seems that only can input fields in a search connector fields that are input in the query then I have modified the query and select the proposal field as input field).
Now, when I go to modify the search connector ( Z) to add the new field it is not possible to add a new field, the only option is reset field. If you do it you lost all the other fields and you can only enter as input field the 'input in the query'- proposal,
It is not possible add the fieds language, scope.... as input fields manually.
Does anyone know how to build an infoset search connector exactly like 1RPM_ITEMS but it also has to contain field proposal? is it possible?

Hi,
Did you mean an index on Windows 7 network shared folder? As I know, you should first right-click on the folder and select "Always Available offline".
Then it can be indexed, and added to libraries as well.

How to get the SharePoint user context available in custom federated search connector?

I'm investigating the possibilities for developing a federated search connector for SharePoint 2013 Online. This should allow us to search a customer's database through our custom developed application (both on premise). We intend to develop
an remote federated search connector (using OpenSearch protocol) and configure a result source in SharePoint for that connector.
The problem I'm struggling with is that I want different search results from this ressult source based on the permissions of the user that is executing the search. The admin should find a lot because he has permissions on certain items in the custom
application. The employee should find just a few because he has no permissions on certain items in the custom application. We developed the custom application ourselveds and the search in that application is taking permissions into account: it doesn't
return results if a user doesn't have sufficient permissions. That part works just fine.
However, to be able to use that, the remote federated search connector must be able to identify the user that is executing the search in SharePoint Online. So: how do I get the SharePoint user context in the remote federated search connector?
I know I can configure the replacement token {User.Name} in the result source configuration, but that gives me the name of the user only. This is insufficient to get an identity, principal, token or whatever, that let's me log in into our custom
application.
I also know that in a provider hosted app, user context is passed through from SharePoint and is known within the remote app. But since result sources need fixed (or anonymous) credentials configuration for connecting to the remote federated search connector,
all users will be using the same credentials. This makes me assume these credentials are for securing communication and cannot be used within the execution of the search within the remote federated search connector.
At the moment, I'm stuck. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Unable to create search connector for FIORI Factsheets apps (ESH_COCKPIT)

Hi Team,
I am trying to create Search connectors via ESH_COCKPIT for fact sheets and analytical apps , but I am unable to do so.
I am following the steps as per the below link but unable to do so.
How to import models, activate connectors and index them - SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse - SCN Wiki
Please help me out with this.
When i try to activate these services in Gateway service, I get the error
This is the error i Get in all the Fact sheets apps.
I searched some of the links in web and SCN and found that Search connectors has to be created using ESH_COCKPIT, but i am not sure how to create one and I am getting errors.
I request you all to please help me out with this, because this is kind of Urgent.

did you find a solution? You have to activate the searchmodel "ACCOUNTING_DOC_H" right? Some of the models in the screenshot are activated allready.

I doubt it was either. As I suggested the possiblity the two issues were related. One of a number things could have been the cause, and the solution.
It took me several minutes to finalize my post in which during that time Apple could have very easilty got things back up and running. The two issues could have been unrelated.
Chamar - tt also appears you posted a screen shot from the Mac App store. The link I provided was specifically for the online "Apple Store" - not "App" store.
And again, as it's been an issue in the past - I suggested the two issues may have been related; it usually is, because your Apple ID is tied to "everything Apple" - Mac App store, iCloud, FaceTime, iTunes, Apple Store online, and even here, including the forums... "everythig Apple."
I even tried to get onto Apple Store online through the App on my iPhone. I get the exact same screen shot I placed in my original post. At any rate... everything is back up and running.

Error In ESH_COCKPIT while deleting Search Connectors ?

When I am starting the transaction ESH_COCKPIT and then trying to delete the search connectors created for HRTMC*
it is giving an error
"Software component EA-HRGXX has been locked by user <username>"
Although I have deleted all the enteries in SM12 for my user , The error is occuring for any user who logs and tries to delete the search connectors .Hence I am unable to delete the connectors also when I am trying to create new connectors it is giving the same error.
Kindly help me here !

ESH_ADM_INDEX_ALL_SC cannot perform initial indexing for all search connectors

Dear SAP Gurus,
We are implementing TREX version 7.10.50 for Talent Management ECC 6.0 - EHP 5.
I'd like to ask you question regarding ESH_ADM_INDEX_ALL_SC program
which used to create search connector for TREX and perform initial indexing for all search connectors.
As we know we can perform indexing using ESH_COCKPIT transaction code or use ESH_ADM_INDEX_ALL_SC.
If I try to perform indexing using ESH_COCKPIT, all search connectors can be indexed ("searchable" column are "checked" and status are changed to "Active" for all search connectors).
However, if I try to perform indexing using ESH_ADM_INDEX_ALL_SC, not all search connectors are indexed.
I've traced the program ESH_ADM_INDEX_ALL_SC using ST01 transaction code and found these error:
- rscpe__error 32 at rscpu86r.c(6;742) "dest buffer overflow" (,)
- rscpe__error 32 at rscpc (20;12129) "convert output buffer overflow"
- rscpe__error 128 at rstss01 (1;178) "Object not found"

I need to push a certain value as a default value based on a condition to the slection screen of search help in web UI.
Could you please let me know how can we do this?
When we try to open the 'F4' help in web ui then it should populate a certain value as a default value to the selection screen of this 'F4' help. We will get this default value based on condition.

Here 'ZATTR1' is my search help name in SE11 and the field which is having 'F4' help is 'ATTRIBUTE'.
Now when I press 'F4' on 'ATTRIBUTE' then it will give a popup and this popup is having 3 fields..
1.'ATTRIBUTE'
2.'SERVICE_LINE'
3.Description of 'SERVICE_LINE' and hence by pressing 'F4' i should get a value in the field 'SERVICE_LINE' based on
   a condition.
However, if there is a value for ATTRIBUTE on the screen and when we press 'F4' on this then in the popup the value of
ATTRIBUTE which is there on the screen is appearing in the 'ATTRIBUTE' field and the same value is being copied to
'SERVICE_LINE' field in the popup.
Please guide me how do we populate the value to 'SERVICE_LINE' field inside the search help popup of 'ATTRIBUTE'.

Case insensitive search in select statement

Hi Experts,
I have entries in table as mixed case. For example i am searching on an attribute called description in the table. I want the serch to be case insensitive for that attribute. Because in table it is i.e. JUMBO Pack and in the search attribute it is i.e. Jumbo Pack.
I do not want to translate both to the same case and search. Is there an option?

One more alternative:
If ztext is ur original field which is saving the mixed text.
Append one extra field(ztext_upper) to the table.
Now if " Sap Sdn" is the text we are saving then
While saving the entires to the table,
1. asusual save the value(" Sap Sdn") to teh original field(ztext)
2. translate the value to upper case(SAP SDN) and save this entry to teh newly appended field(ztext_upper)
Now while doing search, translate to upper case and compare with the value in ztext_upper. If it satisfies then for display options select the original value from the field (ztext) which is corresponding to the satisfied ztext_upper field.

Search Multiple selections ONLY

Hi All,
Ok, is it me, or does the built-in search bar no longer listen to me if I tell it I only want to search the folders I have selected? All our files are on an SMB server, and I daily need to search something out that was done in a specific time frame (we catalog by month), and if I select just the months I want to search, it searches the ENTIRE server.
Is there a preference that I'm not clicking somewhere, or does this just not work this way anymore?

Maybe Smart Folders might help? Here's some info on that...
Organizing related files with Smart Folders
With Smart Folders, you can organize files by what they have in common, instead of by their location on your disk. Because they use Spotlight, Smart Folders can organize files by their contents, as well by attributes that describe those contents and how they were created. For example, you can create one Smart Folder with all your spreadsheets, another with the documents you modified today, and another with the presentations that mention a specific project.
Even though a file exists in only one location on your disk, it can occur in many different Smart Folders. A presentation you're working on could appear in a Smart Folder of files you modified today and another of presentations that mention a specific project.
In the Finder, choose File > New Smart Folder.
Choose your search criteria.
To search your files' names, contents, and attributes for text, type in the search field. To limit where the Smart Folder searches, click one of the listed locations, or click Others to choose another location. To search on a specific metadata attribute, use the pop-up menus.
Click Save, and choose the name and location for your Smart Folder. You can place a smart folder anywhere you can place a folder.
If you do not want your Smart Folder to be be in the sidebar, deselect Add To Sidebar.
To view the items that match your Smart Folder's criteria, click it in the sidebar or double-click it in the Finder. The folder is updated automatically as you change, add, and remove files.
To edit a Smart Folder, locate it in the Finder or in the sidebar and open it. When you are done changing the search criteria, click Save.
To change the name of a Smart Folder, Control-click it in the sidebar and choose Rename, or select the folder in the Finder and type a new name.
The fact that you are using a SMB might be part of the problem. It depends on WHERE on the server these files are located not to mention this is a file sharing server. The Mac OS search "Spotlight", here is more information: Using Spotlight to search for items
Spotlight lets you quickly search your entire computer for your documents, photos, email messages, address book contacts, iCal events, and much more. You can also use Spotlight to find applications and System Preferences panes. It's always available in the menu bar, no matter what application you are currently using. If you have a Mighty Mouse, you can assign a mouse button to open Spotlight. (Use the Mouse pane of Keyboard & Mouse preferences to configure your mouse.)
Spotlight is especially useful for finding disparate items that share a connection. For example, if you search for people's names, Spotlight can return their contact information, any documents that mention them by name, any email messages to or from them, any calendar appointments with them, and any iChat instant message transcripts you've saved that involve them.
To search for items:
Click the Spotlight icon on the right side of the menu bar.
Type what you want to search for. The Spotlight menu immediately starts to display a list of results, up to the top 20 hits.
To open any item, select it.
To view all the results, select Show All to display a Spotlight window. Use the commands in the sidebar on the right side of the window to sort and group the items.
In addition to searching on a file's name or contents, you can search on the wide variety of information stored about your files. For example, enter the name of a camera model to find all the photos on your computer that were taken by that model. Or enter the name of a musician to find all audio files by that artist. To see the specialized information stored for a type of file, select one of those files, choose File > Get Info, and look at the attributes in the More Info section
To organize your files so you can find them more easily, use the Spotlight Comments field in the Get Info dialog. For example, you could mark all the files for the same project with the project name, tag all your urgent files with the word "urgent," or enter a description that will help you find the file later.
If you want to limit your search to specific locations and attributes, open Finder and choose File > Find.

Search Help Selected Values not reflected in WebUI

Hello All, We have a requirement to create a standard F4 value help for PRODUCT_ID field and the selected value should be reflected in the WebUI field. This field is in a table view context node and the component is a stand alone WebUI component. Everything works fine till the Search help is called and the values is selected. But the selected value is not reflected in the Product_ID field. We have checked many forums and links and tried almost all the alternatives suggested. Here's is the code attached for reference.

Thanks Dharmakasi, your point to use Condense was the issue which was preventing the values from reflecting in the field.
However, below code is not required.

Talent search: advanced search multiple selection

Dear Guru's
We have setup the TREX and are using the advanced search for talent management. Everything is working fine except if we use the multiple selection option for a field. We have definied our own search field to search for (a range of) salary scale. However if we use the multiple selection and try to search for e.g. range 05 till 07 the engine only searches for the 05 value and not for 06 and 07. This also appears using ESH_TEST_SEARCH and also appears within SAP fields such as organizational unit etc.

Any suggestions ?

It looks like you're on 604 SP 60 but it's component EA-HRGXX that is important to check. These SAP Notes are useful to implement for the Advanced Search and do cover some of your symptoms.

[tip] search for / selecting NO keywords (selection photos without a keyword)

Probably it is old news but I couldn't find it here that fast.
I have 20.000 photos, some have a keyword(s) some have not. So I searched for a selection of photographs without a keyword. But there is none.
The trick is to add a special keyword you normally not use like (only) "_" (underscore) to all photos without a keyword. But there is no way to select photos wihtout a keyword... So I came up with a two step strategy and this trick only cost 2-3 minutes with 20.000 photos:
Add the "_" keyword to all you photos.
Select all photos with a real keyword by shift clicking on all keywords tags except "_".
Remove the "_" keyword from those photos.
Now select the "_" keyword or search on the "_" keyword.
A how to, in 14 steps:
1. Hit G, goto library (in left panel) and click on "all photographs"
2. Select all photos by pressing ctrl-a
3. Wait till LR is ready displaying all used keywords in the right keywords panel
4. In right panel under keywording/keyword tags add the keyword "_"
5. Wait till LR is ready updating all your photos (20.000 photos: 1 minute)
6. Goto "Keyword tags" in the left panel
7. Select the (suppose the second) keyword just after the "_" keyword by left clicking.
8. Scroll down till the end in the keyword list
9. Now, shift click on the last keyword
10. You now selected all keywords except the "_" keyword and all are highlihted
11. Select all photo's (ctrl-a)
12. Wait till LR shows all the keywords in the Keywording/keyword tags panel on the right
check: the keyword "_" should have no asterix like "_*" if so: goto step 1!
13. Remove the "_" keyword and press enter
14. Wait till LR is ready
From now on while selecting the "_" keyword or searching on the keyword "_" LR will only show the photos without a (real) keyword.
Of course, as soon as you add keyword(s) to your foto(s) you have to delete the "_" keyword.
Speed tip: when starting keywording, select the photo you like to add real keywords, ctrl-k brings you directly to the keyword tags panel in edit mode, hit backspace (to delete the "_" keyword and start typing your keywords and hit enter or tab when done. Then immediately (of course) the photo dissapears from your "_" keyword selection photos and the next photo is selected and is waiting for you to hit ctrl-k and start again. Look mam, "no mouse used!"

There is actually, and it is much simpler:
Using the Find Panel, choose Text: Keywords and Rule: Are Empty.

Fields gettin jumbled in search help selection

hi,
i created a new search help for va02..
but after entering values in the fields and hitting an enter the output values are jumbled and out of order..
cud any1 tell me why is it so???
