ESM ERP 603 - XI Content

Hello There
I have just completed install of SAP Enhancement Pack 3 but now I have a request to install ESM ERP 603, I have noticed that this is not part of the Enhancement Pack and on SAP Service Market Place I am only able to find support packages up to patch 02, the file extensions are .tpz.
1) How does one install ESM ERP 6.03
2) Is there any activation process after install
Kind Regards
Nishan

Hi Nishan
having searched for SAP Notes, I am not sure wether an ESM 6.03 exists, or wether an ESM 6.04 is planned to exist.
In any case ESM seems to be an ABAP add-on in the area of SOA enablement/ part of ES Bundles.
For installation-instructions on SOA, the following sources are helpful:
- service.sap.com/erp-inst -
> specific SOA Master Guide
- The SAP Developer Network (SAP SDN) at
https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/LQ0 (registration required).
In the Must Know Document and Master Guide for SAP enhancement package 3 for SAP ERP 6.0 will you find general recommendations about the installation of add-ons with an enhancement package, and in particular SAP Note 1117309 - Compatibility of AddOns vs enhancement packages for ERP 6.0.

  • "XI CONTENT ESM ERP" can be imported to PI 7.0?

    Hi gurus,
We want to transfer the standard Purchase Request from ECC to SRM. Based on the fact that SAP recommend us to use Enterprise Service method, so I want to import content "XI CONTENT ESM ERP 604" into our PI 7.0 system. Anyway, it seems we can only do that in PI 7.1 version. Do you have any suggestion on this? 603 can be used in PI 7.1?
Do we have any other solution to integrate PR between ECC and SRM? RFC or idoc seems not good.
    Thanks in advance.

You can import either 604 or 603 in any PI system (7.0 or 7.1). The PI content is backward compatible. You can try importing in to the repository and see if it completes without any errors..
603 and 604 are base on the ECC enhancement packages. So if your ECC is on EHP4 you should use 604 content.

  • Enterprise Composite models

    Hi ,
I am just trying to understand different models
1 . What are the main differences between Enterprise campus model and composite model ?
    2. What are the services or fucntion or device should be reloacted if we want to move from the  campus model to composite model ?
    3. Is there huge differnces  between switch and access layer
" All traffic forwarded to the enterprise edge distribution module is from remote corporate users that are authenticated in some fashion before being allowed through the firewall".
Does it mean servers like AAA must be palced in the enterprise edge distribution module ?
In enterprise edge distribution module how we define DMZ ?
    Thanks

    Hello
Please download and import ESM ERP 603 models as they contain the models. As of today, SAP ships the models and the service interface definitions separately.

  • Filename encoding from content server

    Dear gurus,
I need your help. As storage our documents for ERP we use content server. I observe problem for example I try to open in sbwp in shared folders file with name "Роли-транзакции MM.xls". On first time it  opens without any problem. Then I try open this file or other I see message "file is not found <name of file>". When i go in sapworkdir (or sapgui) folder I see file with filename like  this "####-##########MM_20130919063339.006_X.xls". But the files with English letters in the file name opens correct. I understand that the problem is somewhere in the content server, but where?

    Hi Dmitry,
Do you do all the activities with logon language RU and a Windows front end system where the system code page is based on Cyrillic? If not, please retry with a "completely localized" setup.
The fact that the Russian characters are converted to #-symbols indicate that somewhere there is a conversion from Unicode --> Non-Unicode (probably Latin-1 - maybe based on logon language) and this fails.
Unfortunately I am not familiar with content server - and these kind of problems are difficult to be analyzed without direct debugging on the system. Therefore I think it is the best if you raise a customer message  at SAP.
Or maybe there is someone who knows content server very well and might be able to help ...

  • Possible to use ServiceCenter's Oracle database for Content Management?

    Hi,
I have a quick question, and I would really appreciate if any of you have a quick answer for me.
My company is sourcing for a Content Management option as a complement to the object information that can be stored in ServiceCenter's CMDB. We are working towards a complete information storage solution, where the CMDB is the obvious master for all object information.
Our ServiceCenter/CMDB solution is run on an Oracle database. We have an interest in possibly using an Oracle Content Management solution on top of the existing Oracle database.
A question was raised if the Content Management solution can use ServiceCenter's Oracle database for storing documents, ie act as a Content Management database?
The documents need to be fully searchable from Oracle's Content Management product. The solution should support storage of a large amount of data and documents and be scalable. It is critical that this in no way lower ServiceCenter's performance.
Please bear in mind that I'm not a technician, but involved in the portal/Content Management aspect of the project. I'm also responsible for the user environment of our ServiceCenter-implementation.

    Hi Harsha,
Are you going to use the same ERP server for Content server as well? Are you planning to store the documents of this ECC system to the content server only?
If yes, what is the use of that, Anyways all the documents will be stored on this server only for this ECC system. Please go through the link given by Mr Saxena above, that will give you a clear picture of how the content server works.
You can install content server with Max DB although you already have oracle installed on your linux server.
I would suggest you to check the stuff about content server and get your concepts cleared up before going ahead. if you are not clear, you may end up crashing your existing ERP system as well.

  • Regd. use of  Modeling present in  SWCV (ESR)

    Hi Experts
i want to know what is the use of modeling present under software component in ESR.
whenever we create a new software component it creates modeling with it .
Can we use the service interface present in models as our actual development objects?
Not to confuse you all !
I have imported a sap ESM ERP 604 Content for sap market place.
i imported the .tpz in my ESR , the software component is shown in ESR, but all the required service operation are comming under modelling.
But i have no clue on how to make use of the interface present in modles into my actual interface , actually there are many models present i need to use one or two..

  • Upgrade: Adapters for SAP NetWeaver PI 1.1

    Hello!
By the upgrade to SAP NetWeaver PI 7.3 we get (within Solution Manager Maintenance Optimizer) a addon  Adapters for SAP NetWeaver PI 1.1.
    Question
Do we need this addon when we go to SAP NetWeaver PI 7.3 or can we install this after the upgrade with SAINT?
    thank you!

    Many thanks!
I also have been asked (within Solution Manager Maintenance Optimizer) to update following contents:
EHP Component XI CONTENT ESM ERP 604
EHP Component XI CONTENT IS-H_IC 604
EHP Component XI CONTENT IS-H 604
Makes it sence to update with the upgrade process or can it wait?
    Thank you!

  • Unit of measure missing for LagDuration in ES for Project Network Activity?

    Hello,
I just tried the Enterprise Service "Read Project Activity" (ProjectProcessingManageProjectIn) from ESM ERP 604 in the ES workplace. The field LagDuration in the NetworkRelationship consists of only a number, but no unit of measure. I changed the unit from Hours to Seconds via the Web Portal and watched the results of the Service: the number did not change although one hour should result in different lag time than one second. IMHO the unit of measure is missing in the service definition. Or am I getting something wrong?
    Regards,
    Uwe.

It is even worse: There are several duration fields in the "Manage Project In"  Service Interface (e.g. Activity BaseDuration). In the responses these fields always contain a naked number (no unit of measure). In the WSDL these fields are of type "Duration" which has a pattern restriction of "PnYnMnDTnHnMnS" - not an int type! In a request if you pass e.g. "PT20M" (which is a valid Duration according to the samples) you will get a nasty parse error. Can anybody explain? Has anybody worked around this issue?

  • E-Recruiting : Creation of NA for newly hired P

    Dear experts,
We are implementing succession planning using eRecruiting 600. The implementation is done in an integrated scenario where eRec600 is on the same server as ERP 603.
I know that every object P should have a relation with CP,BP & NA before the application can work.
To synchronise data between EXISTING P & BP, the report HRALXSYNC is used.
I have noticed that whenever a new hire is done using PA40,there is a corresponding NA which is created in Infotype 5102.
Please remember that till now,we are not handling the Recruitment part of eRecruiting. So,the hiring is done directly through PA40.
I have activated the folllowing BADIs as a prerequisite for the report HRALXSYNC:
    HRSYNC_P
    HRALX_HRALXSYNC_BADI
    HRPAD00INFTY
    HRBAS00INFTY
Is the automatic generation of a candidate NA for a newly created P happening because of these BADI implementations? Pls advice
Can this generation be controlled somehow?
    Thanks in advance!
    Best Regards,
    Sowmya

    Sowmya,
To answer your question, Yes, automatic generation of NA for newly hired/created PERNR (P) is because of the integration you have activated between PA and eRecruit via BADI implementations. Look at OSS note 997181 for details on how integration works.
If you dont need integration between PA and eRecruit on PA40 then you may have to tweak the BADI's.

  • Can I search for iDOCS in the Cloud?

We are integrated with our OnPrem system via HCI for Customers and Employees.   A change occurred to one of our employees within our ERP system (last name changed).  The change came over to our OnPrem system from ERP and an iDOC was generated to send the changed information to the Cloud.  The iDOC has a green status and not indicating any errors.   However, when we look at the record in the cloud, the last name of the employee is not updated.   We checked Business Communication Monitoring and find no errors.    So, in summary, the iDOC was sent successfully to the cloud, the record was not updated but there are no errors.
Can you search the cloud for the iDOC that was sent from OnPrem?
How do we go about finding out why the record was not updated?
Thanks in advance for anyone's help on this.
    Jeff

    Hello Jeff,
There is no direct way of searching an IDOC is cloud for system, as Cloud for system only receives XML messages . Here is what you need to do (I am assuming in WE21 on your ERP system the content type is set to Text/XML and SOAP protocol option is checked )
In HCI message monitor based on the time stamp locate the message which corresponds to the IDOC. In the message monitor log the IDOC no should be listed in a line similar to "com.sap.sod.utils.idoc.soap.idocassign= [0000000001472565,0000000001472565]" and you should see another line for the message ID similar to "com.sap.sod.utils.idoc.soap.messageid= 005056B239651ED480D7B2C829F3878D"
Take the message id from HCI message monitor and then in the web service monitoring in your Cloud system under the advanced section provide the message id to locate the message.
This is bit cumbersome process specifically the HCI monitoring part but as of now this is only way of searching.

  • Migration to FMGLFLEXT

    Dear experts,
my customer has upgraded to SAP ERP 603. Now they are using RFFMS200 enhanced function for payment update in FM. If they want to use online payment update I've read that they have to add EHP 4. A prerequisite for online payment update is using New G/L with document splitting with three charachteristics - FIPOS, etc.
But if they want to activate this do we need to perform some migration to New G/L or for the purposes we want to migrate (online payment update) it is not necessary? Because I saw some Migration guide for New G/L but nothing is mentioned about Public sector and besides they don't want to make balance sheet by fund or grant, just use it for the online payment update.
And also, will table GLT0 be still updated after New G/L activation unless deactivated?
    Thank you in advance,
    Toni

    Hi<BR>
with EHP4 it is possible to migrate from S200 to online payment<BR><BR>
There is this information in the help.sap.com:<BR>
    [http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/en/f0/ca5716260211d28a430000e829fbbd/frameset.htm]<BR>

Enterprise Business Functions  ->Accounting->Public Sector Management -> Funds Management ->PSM, Funds Management 2<BR><BR>
    There is also Note 1030497:<BR><BR>
    4. Migration to the new general ledger<BR>
    General information:<BR>
In SAP ERP 6.0 up to and including Enhancement Package 3, you have the
    following migration options:<BR><BR>
o  Migration from the table GLT0 (classic general ledger) to the
table FMGLFLEX*=> Creating balance sheets/P&L statement for each
fund or grant condition: Introducing document splitting<BR>
            -  If you decide to use the FAGLFLEX* table framework in the new
general ledger (for example, because you do not require Funds
Management, but you use CO intensively), you can also migrate
               from GLTO to these tables.<BR><BR>
            -  CAUTION: Tools for the changeover of the background program
RFFMS200 (enhanced function) are planned only as of
Enhancement Package 4. However, if you are planning a
changeover to the online payment update and you want to
migrate to the new general ledger from a lower Enhancement
Package, you should activate the document splitting
characteristics FIPOS, KNBELNR, and VOBELNR (that are required
for the online payment update) during the migration to the new
general ledger (even though the actual changeover is possible
at a later point in time only).<BR><BR>
o  From fund accounting (=> Fund Accounting within a special ledger
environment) to new general ledger accounting (see Note 1163997)<BR><BR>
For SAP ERP 6.0 Enhancement Package 4, we plan to support the following
    other migrations:<BR><BR>
o  Asset migration in fund accounting      This function supports
the implementation of fund accounting for asset accounting if you
implement the new general ledger accounting at the same time.
This primarily involves the asset mass transfer with which the
fund information and the balance carryforward transfer from the
asset accounting for each independent accounting unit is added to
the asset master records. This creates the opening balance sheet
for the asset values for each fund.<BR><BR>
o  Changeover from the payment update into Funds Management with the
(background) program RFFMS200 (enhanced function) to the online
            payment update<BR><BR>
         o  Subsequent introduction of a cash ledger<BR><BR><BR>
I hope this will help you<BR>

difference between Crystal Report 2011 and Crystal Report for Enterprise 4.0?
I think Crystl Reprt 2011 has more function, is it right?

    Hi,
I recently attended a SAP Virtual trianing on SAP Business Objects BI 4.0.
Here are few extracts from that which probably shows some light to you:
    SAP Crystal Reports 2011
    1. UI and associated processing servers remain the same as CR 2008
    2. Incremental update to CR 2008 with a few new features*
    3. Continue to provide current CR 2008 functionality as-is for existing customers
SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise 4.0
    1. Major update & redesign of the Crystal Reports Designer and associated processing servers
    2. Focus on streamlined report design, reporting against BI 4.0 Universe, & reporting against SAP BW data
    3. Provide the foundation for all future releases of Crystal Reports

  • What is the proper way to publish standard proxies/services using PI?

    Hello experts,
Iu2019m working on a Project where we have an ECC 6.0 and we need to publish some standard services to external third-party applications. We found that the functionality that these third-party applications need is accomplished by the service MaintenanceRequestCreateRequestConfirmation_In of component ESA ECC-SE 603. As we are centralizing all our interfaces in SAP Process Intregration I have installed the ESA ECC-SE 603 XI content in SAP PI. After the installation, in tr. SPROXY transaction of the ECC system I can see the proxy properly implemented and ready to be called. And now I have to configure the interface in Integration Directoy. What I wonder is whatu2019s the best practice to configure this in PI? As I can see in ESR the service category is Inbound but, if Iu2019m not wrong, I have to publish a Outbound service? What should I do? Copy the entire definition to my own Software Component and create my own Outbound service? What is the proper way to publish standard proxies/services using PI?
    Thank you in advance.

Using the Page Items to Submit property on the report region, the Refresh action is all that should be needed. I created a copy of page 2 on page 3, removed the Set Value action, and it is working as expected. I don't have access to 4.2.1 to try it on that specific patch level, but I've been using Page Items to Submit with a Refresh DA since 4.2.0 with no problems.
