ESOA :  Why should we choose ESOA

Hi experts!!!
I recently entered into esoa practice. I have so many queries to put in.... Here are a few....
1) how customer gets benifit out of this esoa...??? how it solves customer problems in present market.??
2) In which form these services are served? (wsdl/ any common format acceptable by all kinds of applications or it is completely based on Netweaver platform?)
3) If it is a wsdl, why should we go for PI 7.1 only...we can also generate wsdls from all previous versions ?
4) According to my understanding from all the blogs & forums, all services will be developed and registered in ESR ( which resides locally in my company), then how these services are said to be global??
5) what is the big difference PI 7.1 makes over the previous versions?
6) How ES workplace is helpfull to my development?
7) I have installed ESR & CE 7.1 into my system.. but i am unable to find proper support from SDN ?  Is it still have to come up? or Is no one using PI7.1 yet? or any other reasons??
8) and most imortantly, I have not found any architectural details about ESR or PI 7.1 or CE 7.1. please ignore this question if i m wrong.
It would be great help to all...

Pavani

Hi Pavani,
Lot of questions. If you have gone through the ESOA Architecture/framework, you would have find answers to most of your questions.
> 1) how customer gets benifit out of this esoa...??? how it solves customer problems in present market.??
SOA architecture is spreading with a good pace. Its always better to walk with market trends.
Customer can benfit from less implementation costs, fast implementations and finally the maintainace would be quite easier with ESOA
> 2) In which form these services are served? (wsdl/ any common format acceptable by all kinds of applications or it is completely based on Netweaver platform?)
Yes it is WSDL. It is based on standards and acceptable to all SAP, Non-SAP applications.
>
> 3) If it is a wsdl, why should we go for PI 7.1 only...we can also generate wsdls from all previous versions ?
PI 7.1 contains ESR where you can define/design your new Enterprise services with some governace mechanism. Technically Enterprise Services are Web Services but it has strong governance mechanism. You can develop/define simple web services from previous PI versions.
> 4) According to my understanding from all the blogs & forums, all services will be developed and registered in ESR ( which resides locally in my company), then how these services are said to be global??
Nope, they will be developed in ESR( Enterprise Services Repository) and would be registered in Service Registry not ESR.
>
> 5) what is the big difference PI 7.1 makes over the previous versions?
PI 7.1 is coming with lot of new features, but related to ESOA , main is the ESR.
> 6) How ES workplace is helpfull to my development?
ES Workplace provide test servers where SAP has already hosted implemented services. You can consume that services using your applications. And documentation is provided along every Enterprise Service. SAP has hosted ES Woorkplace for evaluation purpose only
> 7) I have installed ESR & CE 7.1 into my system.. but i am unable to find proper support from SDN ?  Is it still have to come up? or Is no one using PI7.1 yet? or any other reasons??
A lot of documentation is available and also forums are available for both CE and ESR. But it will take time to reach at atht level when compared to other Netweaver products
> 8) and most imortantly, I have not found any architectural details about ESR or PI 7.1 or CE 7.1. please ignore this question if i m wrong.
Go through recent Teched Material, you will find a lot.
Hope this helps.

  • Why should I choose a T400 over a E6400?

I'm a graduate student about to start a master's program in a field of engineering. I need something that is sturdy, dependable, non-intrusive, quiet, cool (temperature), light and compact. This is why I'm interested in the T400 and E6400.
For around $750 (incl. tax) this is the T400 I want to get:
    P8400
    2gb, 1DIMM ram
    250gb hdd
    14.1 LED WXGA w/camera
    CDRW/DVDROM
    Intel 5300 Wifi
    Intel graphics
    Media card reader
    6-cell battery
Vista basic (will buy vista ultimate and upgrade with student discount)
    1-year warranty
For less, I can get this refurb'd E6400:
    P8700
    2gb, 1DIMM ram DDR2
    160 gb HDD, 7200rpm
    14.1 WXGA+ LED backlit
    Intel 5300
    Intel graphics
    Vista business
    6-cell battery
    DVD/RW
    3 year warranty
I'm really torn between the two. I like the T400 for its understated design, rubberized outer surface, and rollcage. I like the Dell for its value and offering more for less.
I havn't been able to see them or try them in person I and probably won't be able to.
So I'd like to here from owners why they prefer their Thinkpad over other notebooks, and if you're tried both I'd like to hear about your experiences.
    Thanks.

    Hi thesundandthemoo,
    Welcome to the Lenovo forum
If you haven't already, I'd recommend heading to notebookreview.com and reading their reviews of both the E6400 and T400. Also visit their forums and see what users have to say.
As this is a Lenovo users' forum, the opinions you get here are biased. But I guess you know that.
Anyway, my opinion: The Dell E6400 looks great on paper, is a great design. I've never set fingers on one, but from the reviews I looked at before getting my T500, it seemed it is somewhat flawed in execution. I recall reading reports of malfunctioning hardware and general flakiness. Those reports were anecdotal only, and to be fair in this forum you will read of some users having trouble with their T400's too. No manufacturer is immune from letting an occasional lemon slip through. If we had accurate statistics about quality control we could make a rational choice. In the absence of those, we're left with:
    Anecdotal user experiences and evaluations of laptop quality;
More anecdotal user experiences of quality of service in addressing any problems.
In my case I bought my T500 (over E6500) based on my personal experience with earlier ThinkPads and excellent support and service from IBM / Lenovo / EasyServ when the occasional problem arose. My T500 was not 100% perfect from day one: it had a somewhat flexible keyboard (by ThinkPad standards), and a problem displaying digital video through the dock's DVI to one of my monitors. To Lenovo's immense credit, they have fixed both problems to my complete satisfaction. It is this willingness to listen to customer complaints (in this forum and elsewhere) and commitment to make things right -- in combination with excellent design, build quality and driver support -- that makes me such a fan of ThinkPads. They are the first laptops I consider when making any new purchase for myself or others.
Good luck with your search, it would be great if you let us know what you decide and why.
    Best regards,
    Frank

  • Why should I choose an XServe?

After noticing that an XServe equivalent spec. box from dell is around the same (if not more) cost, I have started to view them as a possibility.
I was hoping I get some pros/cons of why I might start using XServes/OSX for our growing web hosting company.
    macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    >** OSX is the same platform we develop many of the web applications that are to be hosted.
This is the main reason why I use them - all the Java engineers in my company use MacBooks and being able to deploy on the same OS makes life far easier.
If you're doing static web content this may not be an issue (since that's more browser-specific), but for dynamic sites it's key.
    >** CoreImage library could be useful in upcoming projects
Not sure why you think that. I can't think of anything in typical web hosting that might leverage CoreImage
** Security worries, not being able to keep 'bleeding edge'?.... vulnerabilities staying unfixed until a Software Update is released
Security worries as compared to what? Obviously you don't mean Windows, so that leaves some other Unix variety or Linux, both of which I'd put about on par. Mac OS X has proven to be very robust and Apple have a good (but not great) history of updates. Linux support depends largly on the distribution you use and how much time you want to spend compiling your own binaries. Solaris, the only other OS I've used in any meaningful way, has a reasonable patch management system. None of them are perfect.
    >** is the Aqua shell wasting resources?
No. The only GUI element running under normal circumstances is LoginWindow (where you'd enter your username and password to log in). No other GUI apps are running (unless you log in on the console, of course).
Other than that, if you're doing large scale web hosting, the price/performance of an XServe is better than many other solutions. You'll likely eschew Server Admin for managing the sites (it works well up to a point, but is a PITA once you get into complex setups).
The only other consideration is user admin - if you're running sites for other people and are giving them their own login/shell access you may have some issues. Most mass hosts implement this via virtualization where each account has its own virtual machine to run in, but there's no viable option there yet (it's coming). There are also several web-based account management tools that people use to let clients manage their own system, most of which don't work on Mac OS X. That would be the area I'd focus on first.

  • Help! Why should I choose Aperture?

I'm wondering what advantages Aperture offers me over other photo cataloging/basic editing software. So far I'm seeing several issues here:
    * Raw support issues
    * Performance issues
    * Catalog issues
... among others. I presently have Aperture 1.5 (educational, not for upgrade) and have been rather disappointed in it. I can see that Aperture 2 is a good leap ahead, and seems to have resolved many problems, but new ones have cropped up and some old ones still remain.
My main computer at this time is a MacBook Pro Core Duo, 2 gig of RAM, running Leopard. My photos are stored on two external Firewire 500 gig HDs. I may be moving the entire catalog to a larger HD soon, a 1Tb Firewire 800.
Photoshop will still be my main program to do major work to photos. Aperture can handle the overall toning, cropping, sorting, etc. aside from cataloging.
I've been tempted to get Photo Mechanic and skip everything altogether (other than Photoshop) but Aperture looks very good. But then, so does that other program.
    I'd love some constructive suggestions!

I don't know if I will help you at all, but I downloaded the other program after I tried Aperture 1 on my old powerbook beacuse Aperture 1 was painfully clunky. I used it for a year and was "basically" happy with it.
But since I got my new MBP, I've tried the trial version of Aperture 2 and love it (and bought a serial number). The small things, as iMacYou said, will change with the updates in the future. I like that Apple has come out with several updates already. I can see the plug-in potential and I am excited I got in at the beginning to see the changes.
I have had no problems with RAW conversions (but I have an older CanonXT so there is no issue with RAW format). Performance is really good. Once in a while it bogs down but generally it's consistently good. With cataloging, I haven't had any problems, but I have to admit I only have about 5000 photos so far.
And keep in mind, this is the forum where people come when they have a problem. There are many happy users out there who have no problems and never come here.
I guess the best thing, if you haven't already done so, is to download the trial of 2. I was pleasantly surprised with how it handled my photos on my laptop. I have since moved my library to an external FW drive and enjoy the little speed bump. (my MBP has a 4200 speed drive in it)
I know I may be a bit naive, but I really like Aperture 2 so far.
    I hope this helps.

  • Why should I choose an iPhone 4 32 before a 16?

What is the biggest difference between the 16 and 32 GB?
I am a great "talker and sms" and surf moderately.

yeah id for the 16GB, I have this and about 120Apps, 400 Songs and about 1200 Pictures (more than enought space).
The music is the only thing that stays, apps change reguarly and pictures get backed up and deleted from phone

  • Why should Adobe Reader fail to print because of settings in the Edit/Preferences?

    AdobeReaderDocumentCouldNotPrint.txt
Glyn Price Tue 17 March 2015
Why should Adobe Reader fail to print because of settings
    in the Edit/Preference?
    Adobe Reader XI Version 11.0.10
    MS Window 7
    File > Print > Print
    I got the error message:
The document could not be printed
I googled this error message and used the following
solution that worked i.e. it then printed successfully.
    Edit >  Preferences
Category: Security(Enhancement)   'Enable Protected  Mode at Startup'
It was checked, changed it to unchecked.
Category: Documents    'View documents in PDF/Mode'
It was set to 'Only for PDF/A'
    Set it to 'Never'
Exited Adobe Reader and restart it. Then it printed.
I had a look on another computer system (Adobe Reader XI Version 11.0.10
and MS Window 7) and on this different computer I could print
without doing the above two changes.
I'm a bit puzzled. Why preferences on one system were not
    needed on a different system?

Here is an elaborate method of troubleshooting this problem. There may be a simpler method if anybody wants to suggest one.
There is a general technique that is helpful in this situation. I can't give you complete instructions here, and I haven't tested this with regard to bluetooth devices, but here's the gist of it.
Create a second log-on account for your music projects. Configure it so that when you log in to the new music account, the drivers needed for the Bluetooth devices don't load. You do this in System Preferences: Accounts.
When it's time to do music, log out of your usual account and onto the new one.
When you install drivers for any peripheral, you have the option of installing them "for all users" or only for the user account that is active during the installation.
This governs whether the drivers go in root/library or root/Users/your name/library.
If drivers are in root/library, they will load whenever the Mac is booted up and will run for all users.
But if drivers are loaded in root/Users/your name/library, they will only load if you log in as "your name". If you have a second account called root/Users/music account/, and you log in under that, the drivers in "your name" will not load. Get it?
To get this working right you need to be knowledgeable about moving or deleting files in the /library/ directory and subdirectories, and you need to be careful because you can unwittingly cause some damage if you are not careful.
There is also the root/System/library directory, and in general you should never mess around with anything in there or you might hose your system.
In summary, I would start by using the installer programs for your BlueTooth devices and DE-installing all drivers. Reboot. Log back in as your usual user account. Then RE-install each driver and see if the installer program gives you the OPTION to installl for all users or just for this user. Choose the latter. Then log on to your new Music account and see if the problems go away.

  • Why should i use Ipod

    Hey guys,
i want to know why should i want use ipod .. i am having a Philips Mp3 Player .. Whats the Difference between an ordinary mp3 player and ipod .. If the Question looks like silly am sorry .. i want to knowthe salient features of ipod comparing to other Mp3 players!

The iPod has what some people call an "ecosystem." That means there are a lot of companies creating and selling thousands of accessories that work with iPods. It means that car companies are building iPod connectivity into cars. It means the iPod becomes more than an "ordinary MP3 player," and such accessories and options are not available for players that are not iPods.
You also have iTunes. The iTunes software (even without the Store) is the best program for managing and playing your digital music collection on your computer (Mac or PC), and integrates using an iPod as part of the experience. If you choose to use the optional Store, you can buy media to play on the computer or on your iPod, from the world largest and most diverse collection (including free downloads and podcasts).
All iPod's except for the shuffle can now play video. I don't know if your "Philips Mp3 Player" is a +media player+ or just an MP3 Player. The best iPod is obviously the iPod touch; it's basically a tiny touch-controlled computer with WiFi and a browser. Doing a comparison between the iPod touch and an MP3 Player would be like comparing a typewriter to a computer.
If you are happy with your player and what it does, an iPod probably won't do those things any better. It's the combination of iPod, iTunes, and third-party accessories/options that makes using an iPod "better."

  • ER : 10268883 : DROP AS METHOD ACTIVITY ON TASK-FLOW SHOULD ALLOW CHOOSING

    hi
In the context of Re: Task Flow API for programmatically retrieving parameters?, this forum thread is Re: Task Flow API for programmatically retrieving parameters? to get your vote or feedback on one specific ER:
    - 10268883, "AM: DROP AS METHOD ACTIVITY ON TASK-FLOW SHOULD ALLOW CHOOSING PAGEDEF FILE"
It resulted from a suggestion by Steven Davelaar
    at http://groups.google.com/group/adf-methodology/msg/b701acd873c3d888
"I think it would be a nice ADF enhancement that when you drag and drop an AM method as method activity onto a tasflow diagram, you get a choice to either create a new page def, or pick a page def of some other (view) activity already on the taskflow. "
(But, regardless the intent of this forum thread, feel free anytime to pursue other means to attract the attention of Oracle to a specific ER. Possibly by creating a service request referring to an ER, or by any other way you see fit.)
    many thanks

There is a +1 (or would it weigh more than one), "a jolly good idea ", from Duncan Mills.
    at http://groups.google.com/group/adf-methodology/msg/bf7d2c32106b2e7b
"Sev 3 is the default status for an Enhancement so that's why it's at that value initially. I've actually upped the priority of this one as I think it's a jolly good idea and I don't really see any downside to it assuming you don't have a huge TFs with many many method activities of which only a small number are used most of the time."

  • Why should we install new plugins , like updated version of flash as plugins are in the browser so firefox should update it ?

I want to repeat that why should i install Shockwave Flash 10.2 r152 as plugins are in the browser, it will be if you let me know ?

*Flash is a '''''separate application''''', not part of Firefox
*Users choose, or not, to install applications with plug-in capability
*You can find Flash, and other applications with plug-ins for Firefox (and other browsers), on your list of installed applications (Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, in Windows XP)
*Flash installs in it own locations on your hard drive
*The Flash plug-in is made available in Firefox (and other browsers that use the plug-in version) by a Windows registry entry
*The same is true for the ActiveX version of Flash that is used by IE which must be updated/installed separately from the plug-in version of Flash

After Effects or Shake? Which one should i choose?
I never use them before, now i want to choose one to learn.
Im a Mac fans, i do want to use the Mac family product, Shake, but a lot of my friends prefer After Effects.
    What one is better? Why?
I just a film student, a beginner, which one is better in the video production area? Which one is better for me?
    Help me make a decision!
    Thanks!

if you said you were looking to create motion graphics and comps (bumpers, titling and ad's) for a video company or local television station, AE would be a really good match (Shake would likely require additional motion graphics help (like  Motion and perhaps even audio and edit applications as well.)
However, if you are a film student and intend to learn and create composite images for film (and video) then your choice is also as clear, absolutely, Shake.

  • Service Dpt. got troubles repairing my mac and give me alternative options.. What option should I choose? Help!

I got a MacBookPro few months ago (October 2011)
                       17-inch, Early 2011
Processor  2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory     4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics   AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB
Software   Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4
But for multiple issues I had to take it back. After several repairs, they offered me the three options below as the 17-inch MBP is discontinued(?).. Which one should I choose?
The main reason I want a 17-inch screen is that I am working with graphics and also I move often, so I can't afford carrying an iMac around.
    1. Replace the unit with this 15-inch Macbook Pro - this would take approximately 2 weeks to arrive
    15-inch MacBook Pro
    • Part number: Z0MV
    • 2.3GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz
    • 4GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
    • 128GB Solid State Drive
    • SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
    • MacBook Pro 15-inch Hi-Res Antiglare Widescreen Display
    • Backlit Keyboard (US) & User’s Guide (English)
    • Accessory Kit
    2. Replace the unit with a 15-inch Macbook Pro Retina - this could take approximately 4-6 weeks
    15-inch: 2.3GHz Retina display
    2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
    Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz
    8GB 1600MHz memory
    256GB flash storage1
    Intel HD Graphics 4000
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1GB of GDDR5 memory
    Built-in battery (7 hours)2
    3. We repair your unit in store as soon as possible.
Can you help me out please?
    1) I am afraid that if I choose the third option, I won't be able to fix my MBP in the future in case that there are no spare parts (for example, if I get problems with the screen).
    2) I don't understand how equal are the three models based on their prices...

"Another reason that makes me worry, is that I may go live in a country which doesn't have an Apple Store. (but they do have Apple representative suppliers)."
Then what's the worry? Consider how long you intend to own this MBP. Figure 3 years. Buy AppleCare to make sure you're covered. You're obsessing about an issue that may or may not happen. This is just my opinion. The other opinions are, from what I read, based upon what each poster wants, not what you need. You've got to assess your own requirements.

    Hi Ishrak,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on exactly what you are trying to log into with your Apple ID, or what exactly you are seeing (alert message, directions, etc) when you try to do so. • When creating a table why should we give promary key

when creating a table why should we give promary key

    Hi Rambabu,
Primary key is needed so as to avoid duplicate entries and ensure that there are unique entries in the table.
For some applications, it is useful to uniquely identify the rows in a table by one or more columns so that you can process them in a specified sequence, for example. You can do this by assigning a “primary key.” The column names that are to create the table key are represented by the keywords PRIMARY KEY. The input values of the key columns defined in this way must not be a NULL value.
You can use the primary key to insert rows in a table in the same way as you insert rows in a base table when no primary key is defined. However, the system outputs an error message if you attempt to insert an existing value into the primary key column a second time, since the uniqueness of the column is ensured by defining the primary key.
A primary key can consist of multiple columns. However, it is unusual for a key to be constructed from more than five columns, since this makes it difficult for users to enter unique values. The arrangement of the columns behind the keywords PRIMARY KEY defines the key sequence.
