Espn Goal line

http://newscenter.verizon.com/press-releases/verizon/2010/verizon-and-the-disney-and.html
In that press release it says that ESPN Goal Line is available to Extreme Hd and Ultimate HD customers at no additional cost. But I am getting a not subscribed message for the last 3 weeks. I called tech support and they said I should be getting the channel, but they don't understand why I'm getting that error message. Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

Which Extreme HD package do you have, the 2010 version or the 2009 version? As I understand it, that channel is only included in the 2010 version, which became available in mid-January 2010 and replaced the 2009 version for ordering. So if you got the Extreme HD package before that, you are out of luck (as am I, although I have to admit I don't really care about getting that channel).

  • ESPN Goal Line out in VHO-4 (Takoma Park, MD)

    Channel 571.  No picture, no signal, no sound.  This is *not* the pixelation issue that other areas were reporting last week.  This is a complete black screen with no signal.  Please fix.

    I called Verizon this Saturday about this. I was told there was an outage for this channel and it would be fixed this week. I don't think it is. When  I turn to this channel it still tells me it's unavailable. So I don't think Verizon really cares about whether this channel is available or not. Very disappointing. This was one of the few chanels I couldn't get with DirecTv. I thought I would be able to with Verizon but I guess not.
    I posted about this on the programming forum but have not got any responses there either.

  • How to display a goal line in a Flash 2D Line Chart?

    Hello,
    I am using Apex 3.0.1 and have a Flash 2d Line Chart displaying a ratio that varies from 1.0 to 1.6 for every month for a year. I need to draw a goal line at 1.2 to show the goal for the ratio. Also, I have grid lines enabled for the y-axis.
    Any pointers/tips on how to accomplish displaying this goal line would be really useful.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Dev

    I'm having the same problem!
    APEX is relatively new to me. CUSTOM XML for tweaking charts is even more recent. I tried to get a goal line to work in a line chart as you described but I have had no success. I really require a target/goal/reference line in a vertical bar chart but getting it to work in a line chart would be a welcome first step.
    I have tried the following 2 samples of code without success:
    <objects>
    <line value='94' text='Target' text_position='right' color='0xFF3300' size='1' alpha='100'/>
    </objects>
    and
    <objects>
    <trend start_value='94' end_value='94' start_argument='' end_argument='' value='' color='0xFF3300' thickness='1' alpha='100'/>
    </objects>
    ==> in the following blocks of the CUSTOM XML:
    <chart .....</chart>
    <chart..<line_chart .....</line_chart>..</chart>
    <workspace> .. <chart_area .....</chart_area> ..</workspace>
    <workspace> .. <y_axis .....</y_axis> ..</workspace>
    <workspace> .. <grid> ..<values .....</values ..</grid> ..</workspace>
    <workspace> .. <grid> .....</grid> ..</workspace>
    Any idea where I am going wrong or what could be missing? Maybe I'm not putting the <objects> parameters in the correct place in the code?

  • Adding a Goal Line to a chart in Webi

    Post Author: geozuh
    CA Forum: WebIntelligence Reporting
    Does anyone know how to add a goal line to a chart created in WEbi? It seems like this would be a standard option.

    Post Author: jsanzone

    geozuh,
    You would think that adding a goal line to a WebI report would be an available option within the software package, but it is not (but this sure sounds like a viable enhancement, so hopefully some of the Business Objects Enhancement Gurus are listening in).
    It should be possible with a bit of fiddling with data in your database to create a "reference-type" table that could mimic all of the data values present but you would "plug" a metric-type column with the goal.  For instance, on your bar graph you have x and y coordinates.  The x could be the total sales by year, the y is the items (I know, I should be using an example from E-Fashion, but I'm not up-to-speed on it).  In your "reference-type" table you would replicate all of the year and item data and create a new column (perhaps called "goal") which you plug with the goal value.  In your universe you can link the two tables and when the report runs, voila you have all of your data.  Now you can use the "vertical bar and line" graph to plot your old x and y and use z for the goal.  Just a thought, and I know, "it's the long road to China", but hopefully you've got some ideas to tool with now.

  • Goal Line Chart in Flex

    Hello All,
      I'm creating a project that consists of flex chart componnents. However, client requires a goal line in the charts. I've googled allday on this and cant seem to find any samples. Is this even possible? If so, can you please lead me to the right direction.
    Kinda like this example..but just have the goal line horizontal.
    Jeff

    Can you just take the min and max from the data source feeding your line chart, build a separate line chart with start and end corresponding to those two points and y-value corresponding to your goal, and add a second series to the chart? You may need to build a custom lineSegmentRenderer if you want a dashed line but a thin, low-alpha line may look fine.

  • ESPN goals app on Curve 9320

    Hi, I have a BB curve 9320
    Whenever I try to download the ESPN goals app it downloads ok; then when I open the app it prompts me to click on this update link thing. When I do that, it takes to the blackberry appworld web page and it says error. Has anyone else had this? How can I get past this 'supposed' error??
    Any advice welcome!
    Many thanks

    That is the only contact point with the app vendor. Alternatively, you can call your mobile service provider's hotline and escalate the issue to RIM through them.

  • When I upgraded to win 7 I was told to uninstall iTunes and its helper programs. Now when I try to install it I get this message that it's not part of the original program.

    When I upgraded to Windows 7 I was told to uninstall iTunes and its helper services. Now when I try to install it I get a message that says "the files I'm trying to install are not native to this program. Is this being blocked by Windows 7 security that I'm not used to. I'm not using the Windows firewall. How do I find what process is doing the blocking. Any ideas would sure help. Rex

    I understand where you are coming from.  I had the Ultimate Tier at one point, but I didn't watch alot of those channels so I downgraded.
    Another problem with changing my tier back up to Ultimate is that I was told I would lose the discounts associated with the package I have now.  The discounts won't transfer to the new package and they can't give me an equal amount of discounts with a new package. At least with the Sports Pass, it is an add on like HBO, so you can cancel at anytime with no penalties or changes to your plan.
    Verizon does advertise the Sports Pass on its website.  Here are the channels.  The only ones I would be interested in would be beIN and ESPN Classic, since I will be losing that channel sometime in May since I only have the Extreme tier.
    beIN Sports HD
    CBS Sports Network
    ESPN Buzzer Beater HD
    ESPN Goal Line HD
    ESPN Classic
    HRTV
    Longhorn Network (Outside of Texas)
    Outdoor Channel SD/HD
    Sportsman Channel
    TVG
    World Fishing Network SD/HD

  • NEW CHANNEL ADD in HD

    With no message or announcement, DISCOVERY KIDS HD has been added to the FiOS systems. (I'm in VHO7 and I know VHO8 has it also).  The channel will be renamed HUB sometime in October.  For now, it is on Channel 789.  Not a channel I'll ever watch, but just thought I'd post it here for anyone interested.

    You should scroll ahead and see the programming they're going to offer when it becomes the Hub.  It looks pretty decent. Lots of classic sitcoms and whatnot.
    Also noticed channel 571 - ESPN Goal Line.  Says "Coming Soon - ESPN Goal Line provides live coverage of various NCAA football games on Saturdays from 12pm - 11pm. Goal Line keeps fans up-to-date in real time, switching from game to game with live look-ins, highlights and a chance to see every important play."
    Sounds like NFL Red Zone for college football.

  • Stream live tv to laptop

    I'm so done reading endless and useless information on here for something that is extremely simple with other providers....HOW THE HELL DO YOU STREAM LIVE TV TO A LAPTOP???  I dont want to go through a ton of banners again only to find tv episodes that I can choose from, I want to watch what is currently playing on the network station. Any clues???

    Hey rjperry2012 -
    True, the live streams available in the FiOS Mobile app are not available for streaming to desktop computers.
    However, you can watch all of these channels live at My Verizon, provided that you sign in with your UserID and password, and you are in a FiOS TV package that includes the channel you are trying to watch.
    Some of these channels have East/West live streams you can pick from.
    Also, these programmers generally have their own websites and apps where you can sign in and watch the live streams as well. And some (like Showtime) don't stream live at My Verizon but do stream live at their own site / app.

  • The new Sports Pass - Is it worth $9.99 a month?

    After speaking with Verizon representatives concerning beIN sports (you can read about that in the post entitled, "Anyone else get a message that beIN sports is part of the "Sports Pass" tier?), I learned more about this new tier.  It is also posted on Verizon's website as well.  I am surprised Verizon hasn't advertised this more on its Forums (if they have, I missed it), since so many people were clamoring for beIN Sports without having to upgrade to the Ultimate Tier.  Here are the channels available for the Sports Pass, which is an add-on (just like HBO) for $9.99 a month. It will give people back ESPN Classic without having to upgrade to Ultimate.
    The question is, is this worth the price given the channels being offered?  Or are you better off upgrading to Ultimate for another $5-$10 a month to get these channels and the extra channels offered with Ultimate?
    beIN Sports HD
    CBS Sports Network
    ESPN Buzzer Beater HD
    ESPN Goal Line HD
    ESPN Classic
    HRTV
    Longhorn Network (Outside of Texas)
    Outdoor Channel SD/HD
    Sportsman Channel
    TVG
    World Fishing Network SD/HD

    Not sure about the FCS channels.  I got the list from Verizon's website.
    In my area (I don't know if it is the same across the country), it would be an extra $10 for Sports Pass or an extra $20 for Ultimate.  So the decision would be whether the extra $10 for Ultimate, or $120 a year, is worth it.
    My main reason for considering Sports Pass is to get beIN Sports.  If Ultimate also had beIN Sports Espanol, then it may be worth it for the extra money.  With beIn being the only channel I am looking for, the extra $10 may be worth it, but not the extra $20.
    Still not sure why Verizon doesn't just offer a comprehensive sports tier like other companies do.  Other companies offer a lot more sports channels for similar prices, instead of spreading sports channels throughout its tiers (like Verizon does).

  • MLB Strike Zone listed as channel 834 - whats the story?

    MLB Strike Zone listed as channel 834 - whats the story?

    I'm not sure what you need to know but I'll tell what I know. It's a sub channel of the MLB Network that is on just two nights a week, Tuesday and Friday nights. It usually comes on at 7 pm but I have seen not come on until 8 and last night it said it was not coming on until 10 pm. I have no idea why it was that late. They basically just jump around to all the games that are being played at the time. Its like the NFL Redzone and the ESPN Goal Line channels. I think you have to have the Ultimate package to get this channel too. Hope that helps.

  • How to Cut, Label, Save sports clips (40Hours, 500GB, 1080p AVCHD Source) for creating season highlight video in Premiere Elements 13?

    Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can provide to help me.
    I have filmed all of my son's basketball games this season and we are heading into the playoffs soon. I would like to find an efficient way to cut, label, and save video clips to create a highlight movie for the team banquet.
    All video is AVCHD and saved on hard drive. A few games were recorded with a Sony camcorder 1920x1980i30(*.mt2s), the rest with my Canon DSLR1920x1080p30(*.mov). I will have about 35 or 40 hours of video by the end of the season. Probably around half a terabyte.
    I own licenses to the following video editors.
    Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11.
    Adobe Premiere Elements 13 that I just purchased bundled with Photoshop Elements 13.
    I struggled with burning AVCHD disks with the Sony software, so did the Adobe trial and everything worked great so I bought it.
    I went through one game and clipped the highlights, but can't figure out how to label them, or export them as individual highlight files.  I guess I would be OK doing this all in a single project if I knew that it would work, and if I could find a way to label the clips so that I can arrange them without having to preview the clip every time.
    I am open to using other tools if they don't cost too much, free would be awesome since I don't do this professionally.
    Thanks!

    GreatFun,
    Yes, while I couldn't spend much time today at work reviewing the link ATR provided, at a high level I like ATR's approach as well, and it definitely is advantageous for that use case and rendering only the final product. My use case is a bit different. My son's high school webcasts each match which I then pull off their Youtube channel (with their permission, of course) and use their camera angles and their play-by-play guys commentary (again, with permission) to augment my video (which are closer to the action and much better quality than theirs, I must say). The kids get a kick out of hearing the play-by-play guy yell their name when the score or make a great play. So that is why I produce my clips separately. To me it is cleaner and I can store them for later use outside PE or any other project.
    Anyway, regarding the actual shooting of the video. I've been doing this for awhile and there are two elements that are a must for any soccer shoot: a good solid tripod with fluid panning ability, and height. Getting above the action (like atop bleachers), for the most part, is an advantage most of the time. That is why professional sports are shot from above. While I do like to take a few minutes of every game to get on the sidelines and film at field level (this adds a bit of variety to the finished product, and you can't beat the ambient sounds you get when the players grunt and groan), you just can't capture the flow of the game from that angle.
    The purpose of your video will dictate your composition. Are you trying to always focus on one player (one particular forward, back, midfielder or keeper) and get their every move (for the purpose of say, college recruitment purposes), regardless of where the ball or action is? If so, you'll want to stay tight on them, but not too tight - know where the action is and use the rule of thirds here with your subject player always in the left or right most third. Let the action, in this case, the ball, enter from the opposite third your player is in to allow the viewer to see a glimpse of what led up to your subject being engaged with the action. If your subject is a keeper, that is the easiest position to focus on of all. When filming just a keeper, I like to set my tripod up along the touch line about 30 yards from the goal line (again, elevated if possible), compose the shot using thirds again so as to let the viewer see the passing action as the goal is attacked. Its great to get a clip of the keeper making a save, but it can be much more impressive and entertaining to a viewer to see how it all unfolds and the choices the goalie has to make to be in the right position to make the save.
    If your intent is to film the action where the ball is, regardless of the player or team that has the ball (like most professional sports coverage), it is much better to cast a wide composition. As you mention, it is difficult to find that sweet spot between being too far out and missing the intimacy, or being too close in and simply giving the viewer a headache as the shots zip around as you try and follow the ball. I've found the sweet spot for me is to shoot always keeping a quarter of the pitch in view. This allows for tight enough composition to keep the viewer engaged with the action, without having to jerk the shot around so much as to make them throw up. Soccer is quite fast paced at the high school level and there is quite a bit of "switching the field", where a wing will lob the ball completely across the width of the field to the opposite wing. If you are in too tight, you'll have to pan very quickly to the receiving side, and if done a lot, will not make for very entertaining viewing. There are other examples of why you shouldn't be too tight, but you get the idea.
    I've probably written too long a post as it is for this forum, but I hope I've given you some things to consider on your next shoot.
    Good health to you!

  • Spec Limits on Histograms

    1.     How do we get user defined spec limits and spec limit titles (i.e. limit names) onto a histogram? Example: we have a histogram displaying daily data for a year, we want to display the mean spec line plus up to 3 user defined spec lines (e.g. 2008 target spec line, etc.). Ideally we want the limit name (u201C2008 Targetu201D) and the value displayed on the chart or legend.
    2.     How do you get the user defined spec limits available on the histogram chart type to be displayed on the legend?

    Corey,
    One way to accomplish your goal is to create a Custom iChart. You can map the data just as you would a normal display template. Data Series 1 (Pen1) could be the data for your bars. Pen 2 through 4 could be your spec lines (i.e. "2008 goal line"). You would set the Data Series (Pen) type as bar for the first pen and line type for the others.
    As for displaying values either in the chart, you can enable "Display Quick Info Text" ("Show Mousetracking" in 11.5). To display values in the legend, you can enable "Show Actual Point Values" (Show Scooter). MII Help has more information on these parameters. You will need to play with them and your data set.
    Regards,
    Kevin

  • Jdk1.4 printing and AttibuteSets.

    Hi!
    I'm trying to create a HTML -> PS filter, and I'm stumbling on the goal line... I bring up the URL in a HTML component, then use the new 1.4 printing API to write out PS. Unfortunately, my attributes seem to be ignored. I need to set attributes programatically (instead of via a PrintRequest) since my program is headless.
    Time for some code. Here's the actuall attibute handling and printing:
         PrintRequestAttributeSet aset = new HashPrintRequestAttributeSet();
         // Gray scale only, this is for faxes after all
         aset.add(Chromaticity.MONOCHROME);
         // Try to set right paper and reasonable margins.
         // A4=210x297 mm. 1 cm margins
         aset.add(MediaSizeName.ISO_A4);
         aset.add(new MediaPrintableArea(10, 10, 190, 277, MediaPrintableArea.MM));
         Printable p=new ComponentPrintable(c);
         Doc doc = new SimpleDoc(p, flavor, null);
         pj.print(doc, aset);I'm skipping some of the preliminaries, but everything works except the attributes so I focused on that bit.
    Here's my ComponentPrintable:
    static class ComponentPrintable implements Printable {
        Component component;
         ComponentPrintable(Component c) {
              component=c;
         public int print(Graphics g,PageFormat pf,int pageIndex) {
              if (pageIndex == 0) {
                   Graphics2D g2d= (Graphics2D)g;
                   double x0=pf.getImageableX(), y0=pf.getImageableY();
                   double pw=pf.getImageableWidth(), ph=pf.getImageableHeight();
                   int cw=component.getWidth(), ch=component.getHeight();
                   double sc=((double)pw)/cw;
                   System.out.println("Page dimension: ("+x0+","+y0+")-("+(x0+pw)+","+(y0+ph)+")");
                   System.out.println("Comp dimension: "+cw+"x"+ch);
                   System.out.println("Translate "+x0+","+y0);
                   System.out.println("Scale "+sc);
                   g2d.translate(x0, y0);
                   g2d.scale(sc, sc);
                   component.paint(g2d);
                   return Printable.PAGE_EXISTS;
              } else {
                   return Printable.NO_SUCH_PAGE;
    }Output from the ComponentPrintable when run:
    Page dimension: (72.0,72.0)-(540.0,720.0)
    Comp dimension: 681x1009
    Translate 72.0,72.0
    Scale 0.6872246696035242
    Page dimension: (72.0,72.0)-(540.0,720.0)
    Comp dimension: 681x1009
    Translate 72.0,72.0
    Scale 0.6872246696035242One inch margin. And when viewing the PS file it turns out it's in color as well.
    Why oh why aren't my attributes respected? Any and all suggestions welcomed.

    Well, I was trying to use the unified printing APIs in 1.4, ie. javax.print.DocPrintJob and so forth. If you do it that way there is no PageFormat, just the attributes. In 1.3 style printing there was no way to print to a PostScript file.
    But, lo and behold, I checked out the docs for 1.3-style printing (java.awt.print) in 1.4 and they have added methods to select a StreamPrintService based on output flavor. Then I could use a plain old PrintJob and PageFormat to fix the margins.
    I'll give you partial credit for leading my right. However, I also need to get grayscale to work. The client's PS printing program crashes on 'textcolor' commands. :-(
    Finished code if anyone is interested:
    String psMimeType = DocFlavor.BYTE_ARRAY.POSTSCRIPT.getMimeType();
    PrinterJob pj = PrinterJob.getPrinterJob();
    StreamPrintServiceFactory[] factories =
         PrinterJob.lookupStreamPrintServices(psMimeType);
    if (factories.length == 0) {
         System.err.println("No suitable factories");
         return false;
    try {
         FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream(f);
         StreamPrintService sps = factories[0].getPrintService(fos);
         pj.setPrintService(sps);
         PageFormat pf=pj.defaultPage();
         Paper p=new Paper();
         p.setSize(210*72d/25, 297*72d/25);
         p.setImageableArea(10*72d/25,10*72d/25, 190*72d/25,277*72d/25);
         pf.setPaper(p);

  • MMORGB Football Game. Very Cool. Plays In Browser.

    There's no game forum, but I wanted to share this with my fellow Apple users since we always get the short end of the stick when it comes to games.
    Goal Line Blitz is a MMORPG (massively multiplayer online game) that’s been spreading like crazy lately. Basically, you create a football player (American football, that is). Then sign with a team and you get to upgrade skill points (for different abilities, like in Madden) as they gain experience. You get to play with other people. It’s totally free, so try it out. Maybe we can get a MR team started.

    It makes the NFL offseason go by a lot quicker, I promise. If you sign up with that link, I get extra points to upgrade my players. Check it out.

    With the URL of the feed one can check it in iTunes and submit it to FeedValidator as a first-line method of locating problems. It's nearly impossible to read right through a long feed's text looking for the one tiny error which may have borked it. With both URLs it's much easier to check things - including whether iTunes is using the feed the originator thinks it is (not always the case).
    If you've been getting quick updates in the Store you've been lucky; the Store checks feeds in some sort of rotation and so it depends where you happen to be in the cycle when you upload a change.
