ESS Bus. Pkg EP 6.0 SP19 to R/3 4.7 ext.2 - IAC iView Problem

Given the above components, I've deployed the ESS business package to the Portal. All components deployed successfully... no errors. I'm creating a new Role (custom, not from BP) and I'd like to use one of the iViews from the Business package in this role. I'm using the "Enrollments" iView which seems to be an IAC iView calling PZ14.
Now the problem... when I access this iView via the Portal, ITS is called and the iView loads but only shows me the Easy Access Menu (SMEN). PZ14 never loads. I can enter PZ14 in the transaction field and it will load but it doesn't come up on its own. I also created a SAP GUI for HTML transaction iView to test PZ14 and that one works fine. To meet the customer's requirements though it must look "pretty" ... like the IAC iView does.
The only thing I changed on the iView was the system alias. Changed it from SAP_R3_HumanResources to SAP_R3 (this is the proper name of the system I'm using to test).
Any ideas?

This has been resolved. Oddly enough, I inadvertantly added /webgui/! to the end of the ITS Path definition in the system object. This was causing the afore mentioned behavior. Once removed, the iView behaved as expected.

Upgrade ESS/MSS EP 6.0 from SP19 to SP21

Hi!
Can anybody give us TIPS to update our ESS/MSS from SP19 to SP21 ??
Do we need to update the business packages, XSS Componenets, ....... ? in other words what do we need to be careful ?

wen you have to go for an upgrade,
please go through the stack information(for previous and new).
service.sap.com/sp-stacks -> SAP support packages -> select the sp-stack like SAP ERP 6.0..
click on this, you can get the stack related information for all the dependent components . also, you can get the related notes also.

ESS Bsns pkg Bnfts &Pymnt - Overview Drop down and table not populated

Hi All,
We have configured ESS business package. Payslips in form of PDF are available in Benefits and payment.
Overview dropdown and table are not getting populated.
I checked context node rem, vcdata and attribute overview_sel in VcRem2Selection comp.
They are not populated at any place as well. How does this work?

Hi Gangadharayya,
There are 2 ways of populating the dropdown.
Either u can create a simple type and bind the attribute to the SimpleType, or use the class ISimpleTypeModifiable and IModifiableValueSet to populate the values at run-time.

How to copy individual WebDynPro's from ESS Bus Pack for EP 7.0/ ECC 6.0

Hi,
We need to make some small changes to the SAP delivered WebDynPro's. Mostly the changes are related to making some fields as display or change AND some basic edit checks for field values on the screen with messages.
Please let me know, if there is process to copy the ESS WebDynPro for Portal? We still need to use the SAP R/3 code, it means, just portal screen changes.

Hi Siva,
If it is small change or big change, as far as you want to change webdynpro code you need NWDI and import the source code, SCA files. By using Developer studio check out the code and do the changes.

ESS Busness Package Content Not Accessible For Delta Copy Role

We are implementing EP 6.0 connected to an ECC 5.0 backend System. We have imported ESS Business Package 60.2 into the portal. If I assign the ESS role "out of the box" (PCD folder structure: CONTENT PROVIDED BY SAP => END USER CONTENT => com.sap.pct.ess.employee => com.sap.pct.ess.roles => Employee Self-Service) to the Everyone Group, the content displays correctly. I had to set the Web Dynpro System Permissions for the End User to get this to work (Everyone Group => Administrator None, End-User Enabled) but did NOT have to set any Permissions on the role or its parent folders. I made a delta copy of the ESS User Role and placed it in a customization folder in the PCD and then deleted some of the worksets from the delta copy. The remaining worksets, roles, iviews, etc in the delta copy role are located in the PCD in folder structure: CONTENT PROVIDED BY SAP => END USER CONTENT => com.sap.pct.ess.employee. The Web Dynpro System Permissions for the End User are set(Everyone Group => Administrator None, End-User Enabled). The ESS navigation tabs are visible as well as the Overview page but none of the area group pages or services will display. I have tried setting End-User permissions on the PCD folder that contains the delta copy role but it still will not work. Any ideas?

you need to setup a system to run your BSP applications.
Host should be maintained with its fully qualified name i.e. <server>.<domain>.com
You can maintain this detail in Se80 -> utilities ->BSP test -> Maintain system details
Please check in transaction SMICM what is http port. you must host BSP application on same host..
open any BSP application and right click and select test.
This should open BSP application. if there is any error to host BSP application, please mention here.
If this works then create a BSP view with concerned system and application and start page details, go for preview this should work there also.

I am trying to change name of view and New bank buttons in ess/bank iview.
I didn't find the view which got these buttons. I even checked in used dc like ess/pss but this dc got previous and next button which are common for all applications. But my problem is to change view and New bank buttons. Can anyone tell me from where these button are coming.

I have tried to down load the upgrade but it come back saying I need maverick 10.9 and that is what I am trying to download.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

Hide Calendar in ESS Web Dynpro Time Entry Application

Hello All,
We are currently on ESS SP 11. NW 2004 SP19 (EP 6.0 SP 19)
In "Record Working Time" application, we see the Calendar expanded by default. We want to Hide the Calendar by default.
I have went the link /thread/82037 [original link is broken] but the actual procedure for modifying the Web dynpro CCs is not mentioned there.
Please suggest me the changes to be done exactly to achieve this functionality.

I hope JDI is ready in your landscape.
If it is ready then import the DC ess~cat from ESS related track.
In the interface component controller of the DC there is will be some code like
return new CAPState(cap, cap[0].getId());
Here just change this as
return new CAPState(cap, " ");
With this change, Calendar will be hidden by default.

Defaulting Trip Schema in ESS Create Expense Report

ESS bus package 1.0 Enterprise Portal 7 ERP2004s
I am trying to default the Trip schema in ESS Create expense report.
In help.sap.com it advises that in the Webdynpro (com.sap.pct.erp.ess.expenses
) this can be done with a parameter:
<i> In Customizing for the homepage framework, assign the new trip schema to the new service. You do this in the step Define Resources under Attributes of Resource. Enter the following URL parameter for accessing the new trip schema: sap.xss.tra.TripSchema=<key of the new schema>. Example: sap.xss.tra.TripSchema=04.</i>
I have extended the parameter of the resource 'EMPLOYEE_TRAVEL_EXPENSES_SRV05' to sap.xss.tra.TripSchema=S1&refreshmenu=true but the trip schema is still a drop down in the application that needs to be selected. Even adding the parameter sap.xss.tra.TripSchema=S1 to the iview parameter directly does not seem to work.
Is this a SAP bug? Any help greatly appreciated.

This is a known SAP bug corrected in Support Package 14 of ESS. See SAP note 1000859 raised on 03.08.2007

Address iView not getting displayed in ESS

Hello Everyone,
When I am logging into ESS with an User of SAP systen, I am unable to see the Address iView of the corresponding employee to whom the user is assigned.A number of iViews is getting displayed for different countries but I am unable to get the iView which I am looking for.Even when I am clicking on the iViews which are getting displayed no data is getting displayed.I am using country grouping 40 i.e India.I have also set the parameter in the User profile(UGR 40 and UCN IN).
Also for some of the links, when I click them the page is getting refreshed continuously without any display.Bu twhen I am tyring the view the same using the PZ screens it is coming properly.
Please let me know what settings are required to get the proper iView.

Go to the portal->content administration->webdynpro and see in the left pane where all the deployed applictions will get displayed.You can chekc the same thru SDM also.
For deployment, you can download the .SCA file from the service market place and deploy it thru SDM.
