ESS Business Package Error: Period type not allowed for profile ESS

Hi,
We are trying to configure the business package for Employee Self Service on Enterprise Portal 6.0. We followed this SDN contribution <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/21eb036a-0a01-0010-25a3-b2224432640a">ESS doc guide</a>
So far we have successfully deployed the business packages and followed all the configurations that were pointed out in the doc guide. Unfortunately when we try to access the Employee Self-Service portal pages (Overview, Employee Search, etc), we encounter this error:
Critical Error:
Period type not allowed for profile ESS, error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.modelimpl.dynamicrfc.WDDynamicRFCExecuteException: Period type not allowed for profile ESS, error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Odata error: Parameters are not allowed for entity "calculationView" as it is not a calculation or analytical view

I have created scripted calculation view
I can add parameter in aforesaid calculation view
It fetches me right result
But when I am to call aforesaid calculation view from odata service I am getting following error:
ERROR      zcustsearch/services/AutoComplete.xsodata
           Parameters are not allowed for entity "calculationView" as it is not a calculation or analytical view.

Don't reference it via the catalog object. Otherwise only the runtime Column View will be seen. Instead you should specific the view as the repository object. This means no schema and use package path::view name. Like this example from the SHINE content:

Rules are not allowed for jobs with set 'archive edited messages only' flag.

Hi,
We are on AEX 7.4 and have enabled user defined search and also setup archiving. Even though the retention period has expired but still the messages are not being
archived.
We see following issues:
1. Unable to setup archiving rule in Runtime Work Bench, we are getting following error:
Rules are not allowed for jobs with set 'archive edited messages only flag.
2. Unable to set the expiration of messages using the following link.Each time we specify the number days it shows the same number of
messages expired.

3. However if we click on "remove messages" button the messages are getting deleted which tells me that the messages are not matching any
archiving rule hence are being removed.
Any pointers to the above issue are appreciated!!!

Class type not defined for this object type

Hi Friends,
Could u please guide me ?..We have a requirement to extract some data from classification system.
This is related with class type 023 - Batch
I want to use the following parameters in CTBW.
basis datasource :Z_BATCH_ATTR
class type : 023
object table :MCHA
Datasource type : ATTR
I am getting an error "Class type not defined for this object type" when i enter the above entries in CTBW.
The only way I'm being able to make this work is changing object table from MCHA to MCH1.
This solution does not fit me bacause MCH1 table dont have Plant as Key, and I need it.
Do you know what should I do to solve this?

I believe we have to use the list of standard "Basis DataSource", as I'm also stuck with the same issue. Let me know what Basis Data source you selected in this case.
As I'm trying to extract Batch attributes from "AUSP" Table.
I have given class type= 023
Obj Table= AUSP
But not sure which "basis datasource" I need to select.

When i am trying to create wage type Degree allowance i am getting error like below.
WT xxxx is not allowed for personnel SG grouping for WT 3 (from 01.09.2006 to
31.12.9999)
     Message no. PG 074
Diagnosis
     In the "Personnel Subgroup Grouping for Primary Wage Types" view
     (V_001P_K), the employee is assigned to personnel SG for primary wage
     types 3. However, this grouping is not valid for wage type xxxx in the
     period from 01.09.2006 to 31.12.9999.

Hi Claud,
SRM does not support hierarchy in service for operational documents like PO, contract, confirmation and invoice in SRM 7. It does support hierarchy in service only for RFx doucments. You need to activate the hierarchy template for SRM for that.

You haven't provided enough of your code to tell, but you are probably trying to use a pl/sql type instead of a sql type. Please see the reproduction of error, then correction below.

Did anyone ever have the same error message 'Payments are not allowed for business unit (6000,568)' so that he can tell me what I did wrong?
I get this message when I click on 'add' on the regular or epress deposit pages
I have set up the payment options at BU Level so I have no idea what to do know.

I am getting following error while transfering Investment AuC to Main Asset.

I searched the Forum and got some input.., but in that I have a clarification.
Please see my doubt and the forum input.
Internal Order as Investment Measure:
Can you explain me Step 10. Settle the amounts to Main Asset from AuC(Prcg type: Full) - KO88 once again.
How we can give the Receiver Main Asset master in KO88. In KO88 we can only provide the Internal Order. But that Internal Order is already settled to AuC in Step 8.
Please guide me.

Are you doing any settlement using the AUC asset ?
Normal practice is to Create an Auc Asset and settle cost to Auc. Once the asset is ready for use, finally settle the Auc to final asset.
This can be done in two ways like - line item settlement / investment measure.
Below are steps in two scenarios :
Internal Order as Investment Measure:
1. Define the AuC Asset Class (with investment measure) - OAOA
2. Define the Asset Class u2013 for Main Asset - OAOA
3. Define Investment Profile - OITA
a. Assign the AuC Asset Class (Step-1) in the investment profile
4. Assign Investment Profile to Model Order - OITA
5. Define Order Type (Investment) - KOT2
a. Settlement Profile - OKO7
b. Maintain Allocation Structures - OKO6
c. Planning Profile - OKOS
d. Budget Profile - OKOB
6. Create an Internal Order - KO01
a. With the Investment Profile (Step-2)
b. AuC automatically created by the system using Asset Class given in the Investment Profile
7. Post the amounts to IO - FB01
8. Settle the amounts to AuC from IO (Prcg type: Automatic) - KO88
9. Create the Main Asset - AS01
10. Settle the amounts to Main Asset from AuC(Prcg type: Full) - KO88
AuC using Line Item Settlement:
1. Define the AuC Asset Class (with Line Item Settlement) - OAOA
2. Define the Asset Class u2013 for Main Asset - OAOA
3. Define Order Type (Overhead) - KOT2
4. Create an AuC-Asset (using Step-1 Asset Class) - AS01
5. Create an Internal Order - KO01
a. Assign the AuC u2013 Asset in Settlement Rule in IO
6. Post the amounts to IO - FB01
7. Settle the amounts to AuC from IO - KO88
8. Create Main Asset (using Step-2 Asset Class) - AS01
9. Assign the Main Asset in IO (Step-5) - KO02
10. Settlement AuC u2013 Line Item List - AIAB

Your message is not very clear - while you have mentioned at what stage are you getting the above-mentioned error message, you haven't mentioned exactly what you were trying to do. The fact that you are getting this error is a straight-forward indication that you are attempting to do something that SAP does expect.
However, answering your query about how to use KO88, you have to settle the AuC to a FA (fixed asset, with asset class other than AuC ), as that will close the open AuC, transfer the value from the AuC to the FA and from this point onwards, all transactions will happen to this FA. Your statement "in KO88, we can only provide the Internal Order" is incorrect.

Method SAP_WAPI_WORKITEM_COMPLETE not allowed for type F

Hi Gurus
I have created a webdynpro abap application in which these steps
1. Application triggers the workflow and workitem got created through FM1.
2. Workitem loads up webdynpro abap application from portal or outlook by changing settings in SWFVISU transaction.
3. Application completes the workflow by calling FM2.
Here FM1 is SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW which returns the workitem id. When I am giving the same workitem id in function module SAP_WAPI_WORKITEM_COMPLETE , it is giving me error that Method SAP_WAPI_WORKITEM_COMPLETE not allowed for type F
My workflow has only one activity step which is mapped with class CL_PT_REQ_WF_ATTRIBS and method DUMMY. I have checked the synchronous method.
Please let me know how can I correct it.

Hi
You need to give the workitem id of the dialog task which has been configured in SWFVISU. You will get this workitem id via application parameter in your Webdynpro method.
Wokflow will be completed, if all the steps has been executed

I created the wsdl for mobile and I tried to send a SOAP request from Altova XMLSpy. However when I geive the wsdl in 'wsdl file location' I receive the following.
File http://127.0.0.1:8080/B1iXcellerator/exec/dummy/com.sap.b1i.vplatform.scenarios.setup/vPac.sap.B1Mobile/001sap0003_sap.B1Mobile.wsdl is not valid.
Invalid XML schema: 'Value 'defaultNs:AddBP2Type' is not allowed for attribute 'type'.'
Error location: wsdl:definitions / wsdl:types / xs:schema / xs:element / @type

Hi,
it seems that Altove did not cope with defaultNs prefix that is used for marking default namespace.
just look up in your <xs:schema > tag what namespace prefix is used for your namespace - you shall find there something like this
<xs:schema xmlns:ns0="your.namespace.com" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" elementFormDefault="qualified"
and replace prefix defaultNs with prefix of your namespace (in example above it would be ns0)
There might be several usages of defalutNs iside of WSDL (at least in my case were two) so replace it everywhere using same approach

When you use this method ...
type vdeptno is table of number;
v_deptno vdeptno;
You need to allocate space to the object prior to inserting into it , (use .EXTENDS for this). Or you need to initialize it while declaring it.
