ESS: Employment and Salary Verification

hi people,
im trying to customize the ess iview "Employment and Salary Verification". but im not really sure how this thing should work. the employee enters "Communication type" (fax or mail) and then he enters either fax-no. or adress.
now what should happen? where does this request go to? should sap automaticly send a fax or an e-mail (via sap-connect, scot, etc.) or should there be a pdf which the employee can send him self?
sorry, i cant find the customizing for this (only hrforms etc.). and the onlinehelp dosnt help me either.

Hello SAP Gurus,
We are in ESS BP 50.4 and NW 6.0 with patch 19. We are in SAP R/3 4.7.
Here is an issue:
When Im trying to use Employment and Salary Verification page, it is giving an error You are not one of the possible agents of the task, even though we have made assigned agents on task TS01000076 as general task.

Employment and Salary Verification WF

Hi Gurus,
Is there any specific settings need to be done inorder to use the FAX option in Employment and Salary Verifications WF in ESS.
The other option to send by mail works fine, but when I choose FAX option, the workitems goes into error.
The object is STD_TEXT , method is REPLACEANDSEND.
Any help would be rewarded..

The Connection to FAX machine is working fine as our other documents thru SAP get faxed.
Are there any parameters we need to pass throught the STD_TEXT BO and the method ReplaceandSend.

Pay Stub and Salary

Hello,
I'm on ESS 1.0 with backend ECC 5.0.
I would like to know which RFC populates the values in Pay Stub and salary. I opened the application in NWDI and didn't see any RFCs in the Models of the Pay Stub DC or of the Used DCs.
Basically, there are two objects here. (1) Overview (2) PDF itself. I would like to know how both the objects get their data from!

NetWeaver Portal and ERP 6.0: BI, ESS/MSS and full Portal on one machine

with ERP 6.0 you need a EP Core Portal for BI Java. An other EP Core Portal for HCM ECC/MSS. The iViews from this portal you integrate in the main portal via federated portal. But in this scenario i need to much portals and have a lot of maintenance costs (administration overhead for evry portal). For a small Customer i will build one Portal for all. It is possible e.g. to use the BI Portal with ESS/MSS and as full portal?

So you would like one BI installation with both the ABAP and the Java-stack with the full BI-functionallity and additionally the XSS-component and set it up to work against the ECC ABAP-only system ?
I think the scenario would actually work, but:
1) You might get future problems if you want to upgrade your BI-system and not the ECC-system.
Is it possible to run the old XSS-components in the new java-stack ?
2) You might get future problems if you want to upgrade your ECC-system and not the BI-system.
What if the new version of the XSS-component demands certain java-components which the BI-system do not have.
So my recommendation is still to run the java-stack on both systems.
ECC with the XSS-java-components and BI with the Bi-java-components.
This way you do not lock yourself into a corner and each system can be upgrade independent of the other.

You can use 'File Attachment' option in the form which will allow the user to attach documents to the application.

List of PO's where GRN is done and Invoice Verification is not done.

Tool Bar - Edit - Dynamic selections - Select Purchasing document item - Goods receiprt and Invoice receipt.
Enter values in GR and IV and then execute.
It will show the PO with GR not IV
Check it out.

Reconciliation and data verification approaches for data in sap r/3 and bw

Cam anybody suggest what are the different reconciliation and data verification approaches to assure that BW and R/3 source data are in sync.

What you can do is, go to R/3 transaction RSA3 and run the extractor, it gives you the number of records extracted and then go to BW Monitor to check the number of records in the PSA.
if it's the same, there you go.
there is an HOW-TO Document on service market place "Reconcile Data Between SAP Source Systems and SAP BW".
Check this document as well which is very helpful.
There is another HOW-TO document "Validate infocube data by comparing it with PSA Data". this is also a good document.

I guess thereis no standard report which combines both. You have to go for a Z-report. use the details FROM Txns ME5A & MB5S for your requirement.

Hi Siddharth & Jwala,
the issue got fixed, by changing the order of Payment above the Benefits
1. i made some options to be disabled & enabled in both benefits and payment
2. Then in the portal i could see the benefits and payment
3. inside the benefits & payment i was able to see two option 1 is for benefits & other is for payment
4. we only wanted payment functionality to be displaying
5. so i tried to hide the benefits then noting was getting displayed in the portal
6. finally i changed the order of the payment just above the benefits
then then i was able to see the benefits and payment inside that i was able to see the payment where i was able to see the payslip
i am not sure what i have done but i is working but please let me know what the problem was actually

what I read from documentation is it is given

Make Settings for Skills Profile Service
Use
In this Customizing activity, you can make the settings for the Employee Self-Service (ESS) Skills Profile. You can use the switches available to make the following settings:
Switches QUALI DEST1 and QUALI DEST2 allow you to set up the system ID required for the RFC connection for ESS. In QUALI DEST1, you must enter the first characters of the system ID (maximum of 10 characters). If the system ID exceeds 10 characters, you can enter the remaining characters in QUALI DEST2. In each of the two switches you can enter a maximum of 10 characters. That is, you can enter a system ID that is composed of a maximum of 20 characters.
Switch QUALI FORM enables you to set up the SAPscript form required to print the skills profile in ESS. A standard form is already set up in the standard delivery (see below).
Switch QUALI REQPR enables you to set up which skills proficiencies, required by the position, are to be displayed in the employee's skillsprofile.
Switch QUALI TRURL enables you to set up whether a suitable training proposal should be displayed in the ESS Skills Profile for missing or insufficient skills and licenses.

Generally this type of problem occurs when the Portal Certifcate is expired, please check the validity of Certificate.
