i have deployed ESS BP and created Jco and So.. on
iam getting exception
when i click on the worksets of ESS it showing
The Web Dynpro Application 'PageBuilder' has expired. Restart the application using the Refresh button or via the following link PageBuilder.

how to resolve this any configuration is missed

Hi Sanjay,
can you see where the entries in the right menu point to. I am not really sure any more its been a long time since I have done something with the old ESS scenarios but maybe you can do a right mouse click on the link in the menu and then go to properties and see to which URL it points you to. If this is hidden by Java Script or something you might want to use a tools like HttpWatch which is commercial of course but very good when searching for URLs. With the tool you can capture the URL's called from your browser. To really see what happens this is of the essence.
Just to explain a bit. There are some tables stored in the R/3 systems which define the entries in the menu on the right hand side of the PZM3. You can change the entries in there by going through the customizing ( Transaction SPRO ). This of course is only a good approach if you know where the browser want's to go to.

I get below error message when i click Employee Self-Service in portal.

I get this error message for languages other than English.

Thanks for your guidance regarding ESS error in portal.
We found that the language entry for which we got error, was missing in production.
We added the language entry in table T7XSSSERARGBT and transported it to production.
But now we are getting an exception message as shown below.
"com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: ComponentUsage(FPMConfigurationUsage): Active component must exist when getting interface controller. (Hint: Have you forgotten to create it with createComponent()? Should the lifecycle control of the component usage be "createOnDemand"?"
I do not feel this error might be due to our transport in production.
So, please guide us what can be the reason for this exception.

ESS Error Sweden Address - NullPointerException

Hi all,
I am trying to enable the std transaction for ESS Sweden Emergency address for ESS603. Have done the spro config for overview screens and for the determination of active subtypes.The roles are assigned in the backend for the test user.Also IT105 is set up for the proper pernr.
When I login with the portal test user and run the transaction, its giving the below error:

Thanks for your help.
But the error :If using the "edit" button, it is possible to enter a new address, but when the review button is clicked, an error is displayed stating "Start date must be 05.01.2012 or later. , still persists.
Can you help in this?

Hi your Leave scenario is not configured properly from the backend.
PLease try applying for leave form the backend first using the following method,
Once this is configured properly there will be no errror on the frontend
I hope if you are able to do the following then your r/3 is perfect and then pobably you can open an OSS message with SAP.
Use transaction PT50 to check the leave quota for the employee.
Also use tranx pa30 - enter infotype 2006 (absence quota's) here for that employee you will get all his quota details.
Then open PTARQ tranx -> clcik Determine approver and check wether is approver is maintained in OM or not,then clik Determine Rule group - > enter emp number and see wether what rule group is the emp attached to , is the rule group configured in SPRO or not.
to activate the Leave application from backend PTARQ is the main tranx where everything must be well configured.
Now clcik on Test Application button -> enter rmp code -> click on Create Request Tab-> enter his managerr emp code in Next Agent input box ->
give infotyp = 2001, subtype = CL (for example) and Date and execute.
if u can successfull apply leave form backend then form front end also u can, if not form backend then you need to config your leave application.

ESS: Error while creating Family/Dependents record from portal

Hi All,
I'm getting a critical error while creating family members and dependents record from portal.
CRITICAL ERROR
"Type conflict in the ASSIGN statement in the program CL_HRPA_CONVERT_0021_US=======CP ., error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE"
I checked the short dump in R/3 Side and searched for OSS note and didnt find any. I raised an OSS message.
If any had've already comeacross this, pls let me know.

Changing URL causes ESS errors

We have been using hostname urls for our Enterprise Portal servers. We have changed one of our QA servers to use a DNS name url and imported a new SSL cert to match the DNS url. So instead of https://server-name.company.com/irj/portal, we are using https://ess_hcm.company.com, with ess_hcm set up in our internal DNS to point to server-name. We have encountered two problems:
1. When any object is edited, like address, and then you navigate away from the address edit page, when you navigate back to view address the system throws a "The service you want to start is currently locked." error. The user must be manually logged off in the R3 system using sm04.
2. When clicking back to view address, in the first and second level navigation bars the highlights go back to the first item in both bars, and the path to the current service is lost.
Neither of these errors occur when the portal is accessed using the hostname-based URL. Can anyone point us to the configuration needed to make ESS work with the new url? Thanks!

ESS Error - User id does not exist

Hi All,
When the user click on personal information - Emergency address link on the portal, user gets error "user XX does not exist in this period".
This proble is only for this particular user.
on the back end an abap dump with following error message is encountered.

Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "SAPLHRXSS_PER_MAC" had to be terminated because it
has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
I checked the data is maintained in IT0105 an IT0002 correctly. Even the table V_T7XSSPERSUBTYP has value for IT0006 with correct usecase.
The user has a hiring date of 13.07.2009 and IT0105 also has the start date as 13.07.2009 can this be the reason? Since the validity is not for complete month?
Please advise what could be the possible reason for the above error. How to solve the problem

Hi,
you have to map the EP user to an employee at the backend for the ESS services to work.
Go to transaction HRUSER and check whether an employee is connected to this USER_ID. If it is not there, go to transaction pa30,select an employee and create a new record for the infotype 105 ( subtype 0001) with the USER_ID.
This will solve the issue.

From your system component information, EA-HR still in SP 00.
You are recommended to import SP for EA-HR ehp2 once installed EHP2 package.
You may try to import support package for EA-HR and let c if it works.

Loan request - ESS - Error on eligiblity

Hi
Loans are configured in R/3 and working fine .... I configured the same for ESS ( Benefits and Payments - > Loan Requests ) when i try to raise a request for a loan type in ESS , i get en error saying " The Experience of employee 00000022 is less than eligibile experience for loan" , even though i have given "null (0) " in the node - Maintain loans Eligiblity checks and limits ... have any of you come across something like this..... inputs on how to solve this would be highly appreciated.....

Even with the BADI activated, i get the same error in ESS..
In the ESS - Loan Request screen, the "Reference No." field is grayed out with '000000000000" , though i have given the number range in SPRO for the same...
Can you please let me know whether you get the reference number field correctly filled??

ESS Error message due to Leave Collision

Dear Friends,
We are doing new ESS MSS implementation on ECC 6.0.
We have configured SAP R/3 to accomodate Collision of leaves in table V_T554Y (Global Time constraint raction) and we can create leave collision through PA30.
E.g: A person who has taken Annual Leave on a particular date can take sick leave on the same day. Sick leave will overwrite/delimit the Annual leave.
We are getting a collision error message while applying for the same leave (Sick leave in the above example) through ESS and not able to go further with the leave request. The same leave, I am able to create through PA30 in R/3.
Please suggest a solution.

I have same problem to you.
If the leave request is already maintained in PA30, the collision error message will raise and the request can not save to R/3.
Dear export, could you provide the solution about it, how can I update infotype based on request via portal approve. I know the collision message according to customizing V_554Y_B.
The leave request can not save data if the collision type is E(-The system does not allow you to create the new record, and
displays all collisions.), right?

i new to portal and i m facing problem in ess and user creation ...

i am trying to integrate ESS into portal and i've followed every step from the best practice N26: Employee Self-Service.
and some of the iviews are working but most of them return the message:
Service cannot be reached
What has happened?
URL http://<host>:<port>/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/catw call was terminated because the corresponding service is not available.
Note
The termination occurred in system E50 with error code 404 and for the reason Not found.

What can I do?

well i hope you have alreayd installed ITS and you are able to see normal ESS services.
To hots any R/3 transaction, you have to define them as a service. please make entry in table t77www_sc: define a service name, define transaction name, and type of service as "S" (check f4 help for type of service, it should be ITS service).
and then add entry in table t77www_ctp, you can choose any existing ESS catalogue for example "PERS" and add one entry with cobination of that catalogues.

Check the table V_T7XSSPERSUBTYP.
Also check by the t.code HRUSER if the user have an employee assigned.
Check the log using the T.Code ST22.
Please You should do a trace using the t.code ST01

Time Recording in ESS - Error of networks name

Hi,
I've installed the ESS business package for portal in version 600.
When I activate the Record Time web dynpro application and try to review the working time I get an error:
- Error of networks name
- Erroneous records exist. Navigation is not possible.
I can record time in CAT2 trans in the winGUI with no problem.
When I want to delete entries in the Web Dynpro GUI that I recorded in winGUI - no problem too.
Can anybody help?
