ESS FPM

Hi sdn friends,
I´m triying to reduce the FPM steps of the banking service. I need to allow just-read data for my ess users (remove step 2 an 4. My problem is when I'm triying to remove an FPM step from the FPM application it's explodes when accesing the service.
Guru's can you help me.
NW 2004s and ERP ECC 6.0
Regards,

David,
For this you have to use the Self Service Administrator Role on the portal which comes in a separate package as a .sca file in Service Market Place ....download it and deploy it using JSPM....then assign the role to user and make the change there in FPM Applications....
Hope it helps...

  • Customizing ESS- FPM- Unable to move from Detail to Review.

    Hi,
I'm customizing the existing ESS code in FPM framework. The flow doesn`t move from Detail VAC to review VAC when i add a UI element. But the flow is smooth when i do not make any changes to the standard code delivered.
Can someone tell me where I'm going wrong? Do i need to make any other changes when i try to add UI elements apart from binding?

I wouldn't know about AOL errors but I'm not sure if you can fix the pic prob however sometimes with when i do the same thing it looks bad in Photos app but if you upload them to iPhoto etc. they are fine. I don't know why this is; it must be a simple bug with how the iPhone previews photos.

  • (ESS) FPM applications, cfg DCs & Enterprise Portal / Portal Content DC

    Hi everyone,
I just replied to the Road Map Step Label Changes Issue thread in the Java Programming forum. Since I had a very specific question that seems more suitable in this forum, I decided to post it again over here.
    short introduction
The SAP ESS SC contains FPM (Floor Plan Manager) applications that you can modify at runtime from within the portal using the Self-Service Administrator portal role. The point is that this content is also contained in the SAP_ESS SC in NWDI. It's contained in all those cfg DCs. They basically contain a (zip)archive that contains other (zip)archives that contain different XML files that eventually describe the FPM application. So what happens is that you can modify the FPM applications at runtime, but your changes are overwritten when the cfg DC is deployed afterwards.
    the details... and the questions...
Concerning those cfg DCs. They're a very specific type of DC. The type is "Enterprise Portal" and the subtype is "Portal Content". In NWDS, this is described in the following XML file: C:\Program Files\SAP\IDE\IDE70\eclipse\plugins\com.sap.ide.eclipse.component.provider_2.0.0\componentTypes.xml When I was using NWDS 7.0 SP12, this particular type of DC was not visible (if I remember it correctly), i.e. I could not create a new DC of this type. NWDS SP12 also didn't contain the necessary plugin, com.sap.portal.pcd.ide.eclipse.nwdi.ui.NewPortalContentWizard, as described in the same XML file (or at least I couldn't find it). Since I installed NWDS SP14, the plugin is present and I can create this type of DC myself. But that doesn't help me that much, since the wizard just creates some empty DC and I don't have a clue how to populate it with the content of the FPM application. Unfortunately I also don't have a clue about how to modify the existing cfg DCs in SAP_ESS.
BTW, some changes, e.g. a small textual change, is relatively easy to do: unzip the archive(s) in the cfg DC, modify the text in one of the XML files (for some reason the translation of the roadmap steps are present 4 times, if my memory doesn't fail on me) and zip everything again. This works fine for me.
    the $1 million question...
Obviously, what I really like to know: how to modify the FPM applications on the portal using the Self-Service Administrator role (that's easy) and export it to a suitable archive that can be imported in the (SAP_ESS) cfg DCs? As long as this is not possible, meaning I don't have a clue how to do it, I'm forced to deploy the modified FPM applications, which I exported as an epa file, after each NWDI transport. And this is not very practical...
I hope my (probably a bit too complex) explanation makes any sense.
If someone else knows more about this subject or how to deal with it, please let me know. tnx!
    Kind regards,
    /Sigiswald

    Hi,
Did you ever found a suitable solution for this. We are facing the same problem at the moment.

  • Call ESS FPM CATS Working time application from non FPM web dynpro application on click of button

    Hi,
My requirement is to launch ESS Working time application HRESS_AC_CATS_1 from custom web dynpro application.
ESS CATS working time application is configured in LPD_CUST launchpad.
I tried using method  cl_hr_navigation_services=>navigate in my custom web dynpro but it did not work.
    Regards,
    Ibrahim

In case you want to use Launchpad, you can use ABAP class CL_APB_LAUNCHPAD_API. If choose not to use Launchpad, you can use method CONSTRUCT_WD_URL of ABAP class CL_WD_UTILITIES to generate the URL. Specify Web Dynpro application and Web Dynpro Configuration as parameter. Finally create an external window using method CREATE_EXTERNAL_WINDOW that points to that URL.

  • ESS FPM Application translation

    Hi,
Could someone guide me through the process to translate an FPM application, configured with FPM Application Editor to several languages?
We have to translate an spanish app we developed to catalan.
We created our own cfg portal component with FPM Application Editor, but then I don't know how to translate the texts defined.
I tried to modify the cfg component in NWDS but I don't know in which perspective should we work with it.
    Thanks,
    Gabriel.

    It's all done in portal.
Content Managment -> Portal Content Translation
Create the translation pool with the application created and then translate it.

    Gabriel.

  • ESS FPM: To achieve a particular Road Map Pattern

    Hi,
We require to achieve below mentioned functionality for one of the Custom Developed Web Dynpro objects.
    Functionality to be achieved
Using EP 7.00 feature; wherein Roadmap is designed on EP side using FPM Application and FPM Views and Web Dynpro DC contains only Fc and Vc components (there is no Cc component on WD side); we need to get below road map behavior for the custom developed application u2013
    Custom developed Application has:
    (1) 4 steps - OVERVIEW, EDIT, REVIEW and SAVE, CONFIRMATION.
    (2) Overview screen has got 3 buttons u2013 BTN1, BTN2 and BTN3
    (3) Navigation requirement is u2013 when BTN1 is clicked, control should go to REVIEW and SAVE screen from OVERVIEW screen and then is BACK button is clicked (on Review and Save screen) control should come back to OVERVIEW screen from REVIEW and SAVE screen if BTN1 is clicked.
If BTN2 or BTN3 is clicked, control should go to EDIT screen from OVERVIEW screen and follow normal path as EDIT à REVIEW and SAVE à CONFIRMATION and the same way if BACK button is clicked on REVIEW and SAVE control should come back to EDIT screen, here again if BACK button is clicked control should go back to OVERVIEW screen.
So in short it should be u2013
    BTN1 clicked
OVERVIEW ---> REVIEW and SAVE ---> CONFIRMATION
    OVERVIEW <--(BACK button)--REVIEW and SAVE
    BTN2 or BTN3 clicked
OVERVIEW ---> EDIT ---> REVIEW and SAVE ---> CONFIRMATION
    OVERVIEW <--(BACK button)EDIT <(BACK button)--REVIEW and SAVE
All the above behavior should be satisfied using FPM road map.
    Thanks,
    Mahesh.

  • Xssutils Error when using ESS role.

    Hi
    I'm getting this error:
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Failed to create deployable object 'sap.com/pcui_gp~xssutils' since it is not of a Web Dynpro object.
for a version of the ESS role I've created. If I assign content_admin or give them any other role as well as the one causing the error then everything works.
    Help!
    Rob

    Lets start all over again..
Copy standard ESS role into your custom Folder.. and now check permission of this role.. , set this as end user access and assign read access to role for target user groups (check for everyone group first).
    and see whats result.
Also check whats permission level for ESS FPM application..
Assign permissions to objects in the following folder to every portal user:
Portal Content ® Content Provided by SAP ® srvconfig ®  com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.ess.employee_self_service.

  • Road Map Step Label Changes Issue

    Hi Gurus,
I am working for ESS business package. I have changes FPM application to read Edit as "Display" for Road map step. I have tested it and transported it to test system.
The changes were working fine till yesterday; today when i tries to test the application the road map step is reverted back to read as Edit not Display. I do not find any one changed the FPM application.
    what would be the reason.

  • Context Exception for context mapping between 2 components

    Hi Guys,
Currently I am working on ess FPM applications,
I have 2 componets, VcComp1 & FcComp2, the data entered on the VcComp1 view should be passed to FcComp2.
I defined context attribute in FcComp2 Interface controller, and then I mapped it to the context value attribute of VcCompl1's view controller, then bind the input field with that context value attribute.
FcComp2 is added to the "used component" of VcComp1, all other mappings are also done.
but when i run the appl to display the view in VcComp1, always this error comes out:
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.context.ContextException: MappedAttributeInfo(VcComp1View.attribute1): does not have a simple type.
Even I changed the type of FcComp2 into a local dictionary simple type, then do context mapping again, this error is still there.
Please help , I  have been stuck for 2 days on this small issue.
    Thanks with high rewarding points!
    Regards,
    Guo Feng

    hi,
If you are trying to access the values in SVS or EVS and  passing it to the  Comp controller this errror will occur.
Create a context attr and copy that vaue into it and bind it to the comp value attr.
If not  chk out the following link,

  • ESS Web Dynpro FPM

    Hi,
I am trying to findout what which function module gets called when i click on Edit Plan on benefits enrollment plan. I was able to dig in the code until i reached doPlanEdit( ) method in Component Controller of the Component VcBenefitsPlanSelection component. Now i am not able to look into the code
    <b>fpm.raiseEvent(IFPM.EVENT_EDIT, BenConstants.VAC_PLANSELECTION);</b>
i see that fpm is of type com.sap.pcuigp.xssfpm.java.IFPM.
what to do to look into the code of this class??
    Thanks

Do you mean that you are trying to find which Function Module is being called in the backend system?
I can't help you with the Java code side of it, but couldn't you set up a trace in the backend with transaction ST05 and run the ESS application?  That should show you any RFC activity on the ECC side.

  • ESS Customization with FPM

    Hi,
I need to do some customization of ESS/MSS applications. I heared that there is framework called FPM ( Floor Plan Manager) which is used for ESS/MSS applications,
Could u some let me know how that FPM will work and how to learn and do it , If u have any links, please give it to me.
    Regards,
    Jyothi

    Hi Jyothi,
The FPM is the central part of the self services architecture. Technically it is implemented as webdynpro component. For HCM, the FPM is the underlying framework.
You shall deploy Business package for self service administrator. This business package provides a administrator role and four iviews FPM Application Editor, FPM Application Wizard, FPM View Editor
    and  FPM View Wizard.

  • FPM event change in ess

    Hi All,
I'm confused as to why the fpm is changing the event for ess~cod from START to _DISPLAYMODE the first time I run the app from WebDynpro.
I have stepped through the code and because the event is _DISPLAYMODE and not START the app is removing all the buttons from the screen.
    else if (fpm.getEventData().getEventName().equals(CodConstants.EVENT_START_IN_DISPLAY_MODE)) {

  • FPM - ESS/MSS on mySAP ERP 2004

    Dear all,
I am on mySAP ERP 2004 doing ESS/MSS developments.
1 - could we exclude the FPM and build the self service as a plain webdynpro DC, if the customer doesnt require the Floor Plan Manager with road map and navigation features? So in the new developments we have few in FPM and few as plain webdynpros DCs build without using the FPM. Is this possible?
2 - Is it possible to integrate the Non WDC to a FPM WDC as used DC? Could you please give some good links on this?
    Thanks,
    Dhanz

    Hi Dhanz,
how did you do on your findings? I´m checking on how to develop on FPM and also if we can integrate already developed WD components into FPM, did you find any info?
    Thanx in Advanced!

  • Release of ESS package overwirte previously modified PCD FPM setting

I have modified the standard ESS Leave Request Web Dynpro application.
In the modified version, we need to change some of the navigation paths and roadmaps, in addition to changing some of the codes.
To change the FPM navigation and roadmaps, I used the FPM Application Editor in the production EP.
Now, with a change request, we have changed some codes and proceeded to release the ESS package via NWDI into the production EP.
However, this transport somehow overwritten the modified FPM settings in the EP and it reverted to the original.
Is there any way to retain the modified version of the FPM settings when we transport the ESS package via NWDI?
PS: The path to the FPM Application Editor is:
    Self Service Administrator>Portal Content>Content Provided by SAP>srvconfig>com.sap.pct.srvconfig.ess.employee_self_service>Leave Request>FPM Applications<Leave Request: Employee

you have the transport package in your backend right, you can deployee it again, may be it will work, other wise you need to de the changes manually,
