ESS implementation posibility with ECC 6.0 and EP 6.0

Hi ,
To implement ESS with ECC 6.0 and EP 6.0
Any body can suggest for this implementation feasibility and possibility.
What are the Business packages has to down load and where can we get those BPs.?
After importing into EP 6.0 , what are the configurations and settings required to get SAP HR screens/ivews (preview when we create after systems in EP),
What are the prerequisites and hardware and software requirements for 8000 users (apprx) ?
Any version upgradations are required for implementing this or
can we use this ECC 6.0 as backend and EP 6.0
and please help required for all those things.

For ESS/MSS based on ECC 6.0 (ERP 2005), you can download the XSS business packages from
service.sap.com/download --> Support patches and packages --> Entry By application Group --> SAP Application Components --> SAP ERP -->
SAP ERP 2005 --> Entry By Component --> SAP XSS --> (SAP ESS 600, SAP MSS 600 and SAP PCUI_GP 600).
You can use JSPM to apply these business packages on to the portal. To use JSPM, you have to login to the portal server using <SID>adm to be able to use the JSPM tool.
Business Packages and components in it: you BP consists of the 2 following parts
1) BP_ERP5ESS / BP_ERP5MSS is Portal Business package which consist of iview, pages and roles.. while SAP_ESS / SAP_MSS. is WebDynpro part of it.
These iviews will direct to some WD application which are part of SAP_ESS / SAP_MSS. and they are deployed on server.
2) you have to simple go to
service.sap.com/downloadSupport patches and packagesEntry By application GroupSAP Application ComponentsSAP ERPSAP ERP 2004/2005--Entry By ComponentSAP XSS
pick the correct version and download. You get full package not incremental. Old ones will be overwritten when you deploy them. try to download them again if it failed first time.
3) Refer note 761266 for package compatibility.

Error with ECC 6.0 and Solman Ehp1 on same system

Hi,
I implemented Ecc 6.0 on Windows server 2008 and sql server 2005. Then i installed solman 7.0 ehp1. I had used athe vbscript for solman key which was available online. i Created two seperate SID for them and DBSID but using the same instance of database.
After successfully implementing both of them only one runs fine at the same time. Either ECC or solman will run disp+work.exe of one of them gets stopped.
Can someone help me out with this?

Hai,
Try to check the Memory requirements, post the dev_disp, dev_w* files for our analysis.
As you said that you have single DB for both the systems, did you follow the installation steps carefully for MCOD systems.

Data mismatch with ECC FBL5N report and debtor ageing report(BI side)

Hi,
I am facing a data mismatch problem with FBl5N(t-code for customer line item report) report in ECC side and Debtor ageing report in BI side.
The problem is
1) there are mismatch of data with some customer amounts in both ECC and Bi side.
2) and also there are customer Nos with amounts in BI Debtor ageing report which are not there in the ECC FBL5N(t-code for customer line item report)
for the second problem, I checked in the Tables BSID,BSAD in ECC side ,there also these customer Nos are not available.
One more strange thing is that with the same selectionin report on both ECC and BI reports the data mismatch and The extra customers in Bi reports are changing everyday, i.e. we are getting new set of data mismatch and extra customers Nos in BI Side.
If anyone have worked on this type of issue.....kindly help...

Hi,
on the one hand it may be delta mechanism of FI_*_4 extractors with the timestamps issue, that your comparision between BI and ECC is at no time up to date.
FI Extraction
on the other hand, it may be the delta problem between data targets in your BI-System, in case you load the FI-Data from a DSO to a cube and make a report on the cube. I have this problem at the moment and will watch this thread for more suggestions.

Installing Dialog Instances with ECC 6.0 and SQL Server 2005

Hi, I have my ECC 6.0 SAP Server, it is Central Instance, Database instance, all in one. My users are working fine, however we will be adding some new users (15) and we want add a Dialog Instance. Can I add one Dialog instance to my landscape without any changes to my SAP Server ??? ..... My dialog instance will be in a new host.
My hardware SAP Server is: 16 GB RAM, 500 GB RAID 5 for my database, four processors.
What could be my Dialogue Instance hardware?
I have read than I must install with sapinst and select Dialogue Instance and follow instructions. Are there any others considerations?? .....
Do I must install SQL Server in the host Dialog instance ??.
Please if you have some suggestions.

Hello Jose,
You can install your dialog instance without doing any change to the existing setup as you have mentioned its on a seprate new host.
Two CPU's and 8GB memory would be fine for your dialog instance.It all depends on your requirement.
Yes you need to install the dialog instance using SAPINST, its kool and sapinst would take care of all.
You need not install any SQL server in the dialog instance host only you need to have a SQL client installed but that would be taken care by SAPINST.

Are Business Areas obsolete with ECC 6.0 and the new GL?

I have long heard that SAP is not planning on supporting Business Areas long term. Howver in the help documenation they still have them listed.
One solution offered to remove them is: With the advent of new GL in ECC; the field profit center and the PCA ledger is now an integral part of new gl (FAGLFLEX). profit center and other custom fields can now easily be defined as a zero balance entity - which means it works exactly in similar fashion as BA use to work. In addition, you can mantain a PCA hierarchy and it is an attribute that appears on key objects in SAP i.e. material master, production order, purchase order etc.
However, for customers that are using both BA's and PC's already (for example using BA's to represent plant groupings and PC's along product lines) is there a real need to make a change and remove the BA's from the current system to avoid future problems?

The answer is most probably Yes. However, those who are having business area and those who like the concept can continue. New GL has revolutionised the segmental concept which is very much needed for the day to day running of business and to meet the accounting standards which are becoming more rigid due to the prevalance of fraud across the world.

Anyone knows if the combination PI 7.1 and ECC 6.0 works well? At the same time, we need to configure E-Filing GB 1.0 in PI 7.1. So Im not sure if the XI contents for E-Filing 7.0 can be used for that.

Compatability of ESS/MSS ERP 2004 with ECC 6.0

I was using ERP 2004 ESS/MSS on EP 7.0 SP 8. My backend was ECC 5.0.
Recently we upgraded our backend to ECC 6.0. But after the upgradation the ESS/MSS packege is not working on the portal. Its showing the below error.

The new Business Packages meant for ECC 6.0 are based on Webdynpro for Java ....which have a different and better look and feel ....these are based on a RoadMap(Floor Plan Manager) which let the employees/managers to go from Overview(dislay the data),edit (to change) ,Review(to review) and Confirmation (To Confirm)....

Such information normally found in the Master Guide for SAP CRM (service.sap.com/instguides). This you should check first.
As an integration of a complete application does not exist, but an integration on product instances ("systems") level, the following approach is possible as well
-identify the required product instance for your scenarios in the Scenario and Process Component List viewer (service.sap.com/scl)
- check the dependency matrix (see http://www.sap.com/community/flash/KW22_08_Story_1.epx)
Keep in mind: As integration topics depend on customer specific system designs, you should test the situation in your own system landscape (Above sources concentrate on general recommendations)

I have this landscape:
server A: Portal 7.0 in WAS 7.0 (2004s) with BP ESS and XSS components
server B: backend ECC 5.0 with EA-HR SP38.
But I am having problems to run some ESS webdynpro iViews (specially personnel info);
According this note: 1007341; this landscape is not supported because is necessary use a separate instance of WAS 6.40 in order to run XSS components.
Why??? Which is the technical reason that I cannot use the j2ee stack from EP 7.0? SAP information about this is so confusing.
if this is impossible to realize, I can use this alternative?:
server A: Portal 7.0 in WAS 7.0 (2004s) with BP ESS
server B: backend ECC 5.0 with EA-HR SP38 and XSS componentes (dual mode stack abap and java both of them 6.40)
As per note 1007341, I need use a third server or I am confusing?. Already having a server which runs E¨P frontend, and other server where it runs the ECC, technically I am not understanding why I need a third server with a older java version than I have in frontend.
This is not supported by a specifically problem? Or can I do if I have a problem and I can fix it with some patch?
Anybody has experiencie using this scheme: Portal 7.0 agains ECC 5.0 for use BP ESS/MSS?

Ok, its true.
My intention is to confirm if is possible install a Java instance in the same server that ECC is running with Abap instance.
My confusion is because note 1007341, in "deviations" part, says:
ECC 5.0 (ERP 2004 back-end system),
XSS 500 on a separate J2EE 6.40, EP NW04s
with business packages ESS and MSS (SAP ERP 2004).
The SAP system only supports this system landscape
if you have installed XSS 500 on a separate J2EE 6.40.
Then, would I install abap stack, and java stack as separate instances (not add-in!) ? and this landscape is supported acordding this note?
(in the example, A and C are in the same server)

I need to install XSS (ESS and MSS) on EP 7.0 SP9 and ECC 5.0 and also on ECC 6.0.
I do NOT know what steps I need to perform (installations & configurations).

1) As I wrote in my second posting, I think I installed the EP 7.0 correctly for XSS and the BP ERP for ERP2005.
Where can I find what configurations I need to undertake and what patches I should install so the XSS and the BP will work correctly ? (that is besides getting error messages when using an XSS iView)
You need to install the foloowing Web Dynpro Components in ur J2EE server.

2) If the projects decides NOT to upgrade to ERP 2005 BUT to stay with ERP 2004, do I need to install the EP 7.0 ALL over AGAIN ?
If so, how do I install both the BP ERP 2004 and XSS on it in ONE installation (as I performed in for the BP ERP 2005) ?
If NOT, how do I uninstall the BP ERP and XSS of the ERP 2005 and install those for ERP 2004 ? OR does the BP ERP 2005 support ERP 2004 as well ?
The pre-requiste for BP ERP2005 is a backend ERP2005. So it will not function with backend ERP 2004.
You don't need to uninstall anything. Just download the Mysap ERP 2004 BP and do the necessary configuration to connect it to the BACKEND ERP 2004.This will solve the problem.

I am trying to configure ESS with ECC 5.0 as the HR server
My J2EE system is WAS 7.0 with EP 7.0 and patch level 12.
I am getting the following error when I am trying to get the ESS pages in EP
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.context.ContextConfigurationException: DataNodeInfo(FcXssMenu.AreaConfig.AreaConfig_Output.Serviceinfo): structure field Helperservice not found
I was successfull in configuring ESS with ECC 6.0. I did the same configuration for ECC 5.0 also.

We are implementing MM SUS Scenario with ECC 6.0 backend and SRM 5.0
We need to following clarifications
1 Once we create ASN in SUS, how to cancel the ASN. We are not able to see cancel button for ASNs
2 When we create GRN in ECC against the inbound delivery and perform Return Delivery, this Return Delivery is getting updated in SUS. But the ASN status is not changing to canceled. We are not able to perform new ASN for this. Also invoice is being allowed for these ASNs. How to control the same.

Implementation steps for MSS:
1 - Deploy PCUI .sca to your J2EE Engine via SDM
2 - Deploy MSS .sca to your J2EE Engine via SDM
3 - Make sure you have a SLD available, or you can enable the local SLD on your Portal J2EE instance
via http://localhost:port/sld and login as Administrator or J2EE_ADMIN and run the auto import.
4 - Define your ECC server in the SLD as a new WAS ABAP instance and define all the settings via the Wizard.
5 - Use the WebDynpro explorer to configure the Jco destinations to use the new WAS ABAP instance in your SLD
6 - Define the system definitions as per the MSS documentation for alias SAP_WebDynpro_XSS and
others
7 - Assign Employee role from PCD to your Portal user and assign the relevant profile to your backend user in ECC.
8 - Use transaction pa30 to add a communications infotype entry to map your username to an employee in the hierarchy.
