ESS in MSS

Hi All,
We are having problem with team viewer iView from ESS in MSS workset and want to display 'book training courses' iview for all or individual employees.When team viewer selected and getting following error like" <b>No objects found</b>" either from ALL Employees or Directly reporting employees. Has anyone got similar problems and want to know how they resolved this.
Any help is greatly appreciated because of project urgency.

What has happened?
The URL http://portal.com:8050/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/catw was not called due to an error.

What can I do?
If the termination type was RABAX_STATE, then you can find more information on the cause of the termination in the system SID in transaction ST22.
If the termination type was ABORT_MESSAGE_STATE, then you can find more information on the cause of the termination on the application server "name" in transaction SM21.
If the termination type was ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE, then you can search for more information in the trace file for the work process 0 in transaction ST11 on the application server "name" . In some situations, you may also need to analyze the trace files of other work processes.
If you do not yet have a user ID, contact your system administrator.

one more thing we dont have ITS in place. Is this the cause?? Is there anyway to get these working without using ITS??

hi all
According to my clent requirement i have worked with uwl for leave request.....for that i configured uwl and added uwl iview to the standard user role......after i have assigned standard user role to my manager.
but' after some time they told me that they need attendance overview and Reminder of dates and subordinate information.
After backend configuration i have assigned Mss role to the Manager,
i have made the settings for mss role with overview workset
Again overview contain-workoverview page it contains 1) uwl pabge 2)Attendance Overview   3)reminder of dates
                                        Team- General information and so on
now my manager has following roles 1)ESS   2)MSS 3)Home (from the standard user role)   4) Home( by default i think from MSS role)     5) superadmin role
when ever i am removing the super admin role and standard user role for the manager   i am unable to see the Attendance overview page and Reminder of dates page and i am unable to see the pages in ESS also.

Configuration of ESS and MSS in Portal for HCM

        This is suresh calling for clarifications and doubts in HCM...   see i'm new to portal, but my requirement is to configure ESS and MSS for HCM... i dont know actually wat needs to be done and the way of approach... these are the doubts,
1. Basic steps for Portal Configuration
2. I need some docs for configuring ESS and MSS...
3.   a) After configuring ESS and MSS, wat needs to be done.. suppose my client is asking for Leave Request in ESS, whether    i need to create that application in webdynpro java or webdynpro abap in backend and i've to call that application in portal throgh iview...
     b) or by doing the configuration of ESS, by default i will get all the aplications(e,g, Leave Request, Travel Managemetn ....) from that package and it will display in iview...
I dont know basic steps .... plz help me ... Thanks i advance...........!

Ok. Here are the answers:
1. Basic steps for Portal Configuration
   > Download ESS/MSS Business Package, it has two parts Business Package for ERP 2005 (Contains iviews, Roles etc) and XSS 5.0 or 6.0 depending upon the version of the ECC.
> Make sure that you have SAP_HR and EA_HR component installed on your ECC box.
> Also make sure that there is no compatibility mismatch between version of SAP_HR, EA_HR and XSS.
> Configure the JCo Destinations, create required system definition and establish SSO between ECC and Portal.
> Assign the role to the users
> After doing these steps you can see the SAP provided iviews etc working PROVIDED configuration on HR side are already done. (This is just to get initial configuration work)

If they are Ok with the basic things then fine else they need to specify the kind of customisation they want in this component

Button not visible in ess or mss appraisal portal.

i have implimented custome BADI implimentation for standard BADI " HRHAP00_ADD_HEADER " for my appraisal template for ess and mss. it is showing one additional data button in header section of the template. when i see this template in R/3 system in dev cleint or any cleint in server it is showing the additional data button. but when i go to web browser to open appraisal portal for ess or mss adn check the button is not visible there. please help. if it showing the additional buton in R/3 system adn standard BADI is implimented then it must show it in portal in web browser also. portal is built in web dynpro abap standard only.

I guess HRHAP00_ADD_HEADER badi is for only backend changes

Employee locked in Time Registration thru "ESS in MSS"

Hi,
we have a situation where some users experience that the session-handling is not working as expected when registering time (CATS) in the portal "ESS in MSS" - If anyone out there could guide me on how to correct this it would be greatly appreciated...
Example: The manager chooses person A from the list over employees and go to the time registration application, when done he closes the window and choose person B goes to the time reg dialogue, closes the window. When he tries to go back to person A he gets an error message stating that the emloyeenumber is locked.
If the user tries the application on another PC everything is working as expected.
Browser used IE 7.0
Were on ECC 6.0, Portal SAP Netweaver 7.0 Supportpackage 18, Business package for ESS/MSS version 1.31

Hi Joakim,
I guess that since you are using ESS 1.31 BP, this package would be an ITS version package. Since they might be BSP applications and BSP applications implicitly are stateless, meaning they themselves do not do any session management.
You can attempt the following to resolve this error
1. Go to SE80
2. Select BSP Application
3. Enter the name of the application
4. Double click on the root node
5. Select the properties tab
6. Check the checkboxes u201CStatefulu201D and u201CSupports Portal Integrationu201D
With the checkbox u201CSupports Portal Integrationu201D checked, the Session Management is handled by Portal "Distributed Session Management". Hence, whenever, you exit from a BSP application, the session is closed by DSM. Once a BSP application is closed, the application should not be listed in SM04 and no locks should be listed in SM12.
So please check the transactions SM04 and SM12 for any locks and applications.

ESS in MSS for ERP2004

Hi,
Does anyone know how to implement ESS in MSS using the MSS Business Package 60.1 for ERP2004?
There doesnt seem to be any content in the business package relating to ESS in MSS, so do we have to use an older version?

In ERP2004, you need to use the older (HTMLB) version of ESS in MSS. It's not converted to WebDynpro in ERP2004.

ESS in MSS for ECC

Hi,
Has anyone created iViews for ESS in MSS based on the guide "Configuration Guide for ESS in MSS" that is available in service market place?? If so please help me. We are on EP6 SP14.
Can anybody post the step by step procedure for this??

the configuration of ESS in MSS never was a good solution, because for running that scenario it was necessary to link ESS users to all pernr's. if not, ESS couldn't run, because the evaluation paths of HRORG couldn't run.

Changing ESS and MSS Pictogram

I am trying to changing the standard icons that came with ESS and MSS business package with custom icons.
I have places my custom icons - using SE80 and going to MIME repository and saved it there.
But when I go to SPRO and go for the Homepage Framework - they do not show up in the list?
Please advice.

BP ESS and MSS

Hello,
I have SAP ERP 6.0 and portal 7.0 with ESS and MSS versión 1.0. We need to update to the versión 1.41 but in this link says that is required the EHP4 in the ERP. Is that true do we have to upgrade the ERP first?

Just to note ---> In WD ABAP there is still dependanices between software components for example BP HRA 1.11 is WD ABAP - there is still key dependancies between BP HRA, SAP_HR, EA_HR and SAP_BASIS
Also moving to 1.4 is considered a move to EHP4 - which means moving ECC to EHP4 as well - however this applies evern for current WD ABAP products - for example if you want BP HRA 1.41 (WD ABAP) you will also need EHP4 in the back-end (as per note 1375308) so the architecture is very similiar
Whether EHP5 changes all this is not yet clear

Hi , Vivek has right, SAP is slowly migrating WDJ/BSP applications to WDA technology.
In fact, referring to Employee Self-Service, since 1.5, all aplications come in WebDynpro ABAP technology (Note [1450179|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1450179])
Referring to Manager Self-Service, the change was more gradually; for example, for Compensations (ECM) since 1.0 some reports already come in WDA, but in MSS 1.4 the Planification app arrives in WDA.
Most applications for HR Administrator was converted to WDA since 1.2 version (EHP2).
For a app-to-app check you can go directly to help.sap.com, then enter by business package until app, and look for Technical Data table, Runtime Technology field.
