ESS/MSS Bank Details Applications.

HI all,
I have this Bank Details applications and there are multiple buttons (New Other Bank Buttons) showing up in the application. What is the cause and how do I solve this?

This is displaying because it is configured that way in the ERP/ECC system. Those buttons are sub-types allowed under the bank infotype. Best to defer to a functional resource for configuration. Its not really a portal issue.
Its probably configured somewhere under transaction spro --> personnel management --> Personal Administration --> Personal Data --> Bank details. but I am not entirely sure.

Most of the application in ESS have used the FPM (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/3f/20888224c544a2a01d9fe618902ae5/frameset.htm) to develop new self service applications.
You may start developing applications as described in the help link and then integrate it with ESS. You will have to maintain some setting under Homepage Framework in SPRO. There are plenty of threads describing this. Do search

Error in ESS bank information application

Hi all,
In ESS personal inforamtion workset in bank details application when i am trying to edit the application it is giving the following error.
Data record 0000000400090 9999123120071015000 has grouping value "" instead of "99"
when I click the review button it is giving this error.
There is no functional consultant avaialable rigt now.Can anybody Pls help me .

The master data change that you carried out is relevant to payroll.
It comes before the earliest retro date according to control record that changes relevant to payroll for this employee can be made.

Check your entries and the status of the control record of payroll area AE (transaction PA03)
Can i change the earliest retro. date in PA03 .......Is there any problem in doing so.?If not how to change it.

Editing Bank details iView

Hi,
I want to add some fields to Bank details application by calling a Z- ARFC model.
But in my NWDS, I see only following components in DC essfrbank : -
- CcPerBankFR
- VcPerBankFRDetail (used model = HRXSS_PER_MAC)
- VcPerBankFROverview (used model = HRXSS_PER_P0009_XX)
- VcPerBankFRReview
I am confused because this isnt similar to Address, PersonalData & Family DCs that I saw before.
Can you please tell me how do proceed on this?

Hi Amey,
Fc Component comes from the used DC. We have ess/xx/bank and ess/xx etc.
If you want to call the a new Z RFC, then based on ur requirement you right a new method in Cc or directly in the Vc part.
And in the OnEven methods you can check for the respective event and then we can call the corresponding RFC

Italy Bank (ess/it/bank) - NWDS won't let me edit the DetailView java code!

I'm trying to make some simple modifications to the wdDoModifyView method on the DetailView for the Italian Bank Details application. (DC = sap.com/ess/it/bank. Web Dynpro Component VcPerBankITDetail - DetailView)   I've checked out the DC project from our DTR, created an activity for the modifications, but I'm simply not able to "change" the java code on the Implementation tab for the object in the NWDS.   No matter where I place my cursor, I can't make any changes.
I've only run into this problem for this particular application (I've made many similar modifications to other DCs in the SAP_ESS software component).   Additionally, other developers on my team have run into the same problem with only this particular development component.
Is it possible that there is something wrong with the permissions for this particular file? Or some other problem?
We are on SP12 of the XSS product.

Well, I submitted a customer message to SAP on this issue and it finally came back with a somewhat cryptic response, but it appears to have worked. Thought I would share what they said here to close the issue.
1.     Remove ess/it/bank development component from your PC. You may have to revert existing changes to the DC if you have already made them.
2.     Create New Web Dynpro DC project for ess/it/bank in NWDS
3.     Switch to the Web Dynpro Perspective. Instead using the traditional u201CWeb Dynpro Exploreru201D view, switch to the u201CNavigatoru201D view (which shows the files in the same structure as they exist on your PC).
4.     In the gen_wdp folder, navigate to the DetailView.java file.   From the context menu, select DTR > Edit.    This should prompt you for an activity.   Note: you donu2019t
5.     Return to the web Dynpro Explorer View. Navigate to the Detail View and attempt to edit it normally.   You will be prompted to add additional files to your activity. It should work now.
No idea why this works... but it does.

Do we need to install SAP Portal for implementation of ESS & MSS

We are implementing SAP (ECC 6.0) for one of our client, Due to some contractual limitations, we do not want to implement SAP portal though it is a part of standard delivery, I want to know that is it absolutely necessary to install and implement SAP portal for implementation of ESS & MSS.
What i know and understand is that with the new architecture ESS & MSS can be deployed and accessed as a stand alone application on an internet browser by (Web dynpro client) without any need of enterprise portal. While ESS & MSS application can be hosted on Web application server.
Please validate my understanding if it is correct, Also does the new Web dynpro based client support all the functionality and authorization related issues for ESS & MSS ??

Hi Amit,
Yes, you can run ESS/MSS as WebDynpro application without having to deploy on Portal. However, the look and feel and user accessibility is much better when deployed as Portal page. For WebDynpro, you will still need to publish the individual URL link to application somewhere...
Another point is that on portal you can deploy standard Business package specific to ESS and MSS which contains lots of readymade iviews/page/roles etc so it can reduce your development cost dramatically.
But, at the end it all depends on your individual requirement and project scope.

Issue while accessing two web-dynpro application, ESS/MSS and Payroll

We are facing one Critical Server Issue in our systems. Following is the scenerio:-
Our Portal system was having one Application known as German Payroll application. Before last two week one more application of ESS/MSS i.e. Time Management has been deployed to our system.
Now the user has two application with two different roles in the portal.
When user try to navigate from Time Management Application to German Payroll application or German Payroll Application to Time Management Application then they are facing Critical Server Error issue.
But once the user try to refresh using CTRL+F5 then the problem got resolved.

here is the catch....When user is trying to navigate from ESS tab(using

Hi
First try a very simple application with nothing in it just one text saying Hello World
Run it and see what happens.
Also check if your url uses FQDN name. something like https:
company.name.co:50000\.......
If you do not use the FQDN it will always show a script error on the bottom and some functions will not work e.g
dropdowns.

How to change payment option in ESS bank detail

In ess personal info bank details, the drop dowon list for payment method is referenced from HRXSS_PER_P0009_XX.Hcmt_Bsp_Pa_Xx_R0009.Zlsch. I want to remove one of the payment options - Cash Payment, however I am not sure where the options are stored. I check tabel V_T042Z_Z, the payment options for each country are defined as Check and Transfer.

You are correct, however we have already defined payment method for each country, but the payment option is still shown in the webdynpro application. I think the cash option is hard-coded in function module HR_PAYMENTMETHOD_SEARCH (see below)

Restrict bank details in ESS. allow two other bank records infotype 0009

I have a user exit that can restrict the user to only create 2 infotype 9 with a subtype of 1. But the ESS application does not us the same screen user exit as the back end. Is there a way to limit the user to only be able to create 2 bank details using the enhancement framework or a badi. I am getting java errors when trying to cancel or exit after or before the create method in the if_hrpa_pernr_infty_xss interface. I have been looking at the hrxss_per_new_p0009_xx functions. I would like to accomplish this without changing the java code, if possible

I am just checking to see if you ever successfully implemented this solution in your portal? We need to implement the same logic, and I am having trouble taking into consideration the future dated records that an employee might attempt to create. E.g. if an employee already has 2 records dated 01/01/2009 - 12/31/9999, then attempts to create a new record dated 06/01/2010 - 12/31/9999, this record will cause the employee to have 3 records in the future, starting 06/01/2010, but this should not be allowed.
Please let me know if you built these checks into your user exit, or if you are aware of alternative methods to check and implemented this requirement.

Hi,
In each webdynpro application (irrespective of ESS or MSS) have Vc Components. All UI elements define here.
If you want to change text of any UI element in any standard DC (addr, bank, fam, cat, lea... ), you have to go to particular Vc Component under DC, change the text of UI Element.
FcEmployeeServicesComponent and FcNavigationComponent are commonly used DC's in all DC's.
FcEmployeeServicesComponent is used to get Employee number, molga....
FcNavigationComponent is used to navigate to AreaGroupPage, AreaPage, RestartService and Exit from current Application.

Error while updating bank details through ESS

Hi All,
While updating banks details through ESS, " change in the payroll past not possible".
I have checked IT0003 and noticed that accounted to 31.08.2014.
I assume this might be causing the error. Could you please advice with your expertise.

Let me explain how it happens and why we don't allow change of bank records in past 1959820 - ESS: Wrong delimit of TC3 records For other scenarios where ESS behavior is similar to PA30 :

When the infotype 0009 is modified, the system is regrouping data for the infotypes which are checked releavnt according to the table T582G. Retroactivity is checked via V_T582A In view V_T582A for infotype 0009 you will see, I guess, that the field 'Past entry all.' is maintained with an 'E'. This means that it is not allowed to maintain any infotype 0009 record for the payroll past. The important day for this check is the last day of the last accounted period. Retroactive change of infotype 0009 is not permitted as the bank transfer is already done. This is the reason why this infotype can not be changed retroactively. For bank records end user must not be allowed to maintain past date records and should not be allowed to change any other detail of record when payroll for that period is already run. for e.g. if current date is 26/11/2013. Then end user must not be allowed to edit other bank record effective from 25/11/2013. We should not allow end user to edit record effective from 27/11/2013 because payroll is already run for that period. If user is allowed to change then data maintained in infotype 9 and information send to payroll may be different. You can use BAdi HRXSS_PER_BEGDA,to default the next payroll period

ESS/MSS applications from ECC 6.0 on a SL as ECC 5.0 + EP7.0

Hi all,
We have a "strange" situation on the client and I need you help or guidance.
We are implementing Portal and ESS/MSS on a system landscape as ECC 5.0 for the back-end system and EP 7.0 as front-end.
My problem is if the ESS/MSS iViews which have the data source as ECC 6.0 or higher are available and if yes how their behavior will be on such environment? We should expect errors or bugs or lousing functionalities or restrictions on it?
Perhaps the first point will be if we can implement them? The client wants specific applications like time accounts or appraisals. I should mention to you the client has decided to make an upgrade of the back-end system to ECC 6.0 but is not decided yet when. In the meantime we already start the project for ESS/MSS base on the current system landscape.
What do you think?

I got my answer. You may implement XSS applications as for ECC 5 even on EP 7 but you'll face limitations in functionalities and face lots of tech issues and abnormal behavior from xss applications. Not the ideal system landscape.

ESS - Bank Details - Payment method field

In the ESS --> Bank Details --> Payment method field , we would like to restrict the drop down values that are shown. In R/3 we (IT 0009) we have different values such as Direct deposit, Check , Cash etc.. but on the ESS we want only direct deposit to appear in the drop down value.
How can this be achieved? We are on ERP 2005 , ESS 1.0 , EP 7.0

The table "help_values" that is referred to in the code has an "Associated Type" of HRPAD_HELP_VALUE_DATA_TAB which has a "Line Type" of HRPAD_HELP_VALUE_DATA which looks like this:

When I debug, before my code executes, <tabs> has three rows and two columns:
1:   <blank> Cash Payment
2:   B        Bank Transfer
3:   Q        Payroll Checks
My code executes, deletes the "Cash Payment" line and then <tabs> has two rows and two columns:
1:   B        Bank Transfer
2:   Q        Payroll Checks
And as I said, the dropdown on the screen in the portal still has three lines. The first is blank and the second and third are "Bank Transfer" and "Payroll Checks" respectively.
Just for fun (argh!), I experimented with an additional scenario in debug mode just to see what would happen.
First, I commented out the line of code that deleted the "Cash Payment" line from <tabs> and then from within debug I manually altered the first line in <tabs> from <blank>   "Cash Payment" to "X"   "Test".
Result: The portal screen now displayed 4 values in the dropdown box. The first is still a blank line, followed by "test", "Bank Transfer" and "Payroll Checks"
So it seems that there's code somewhere down-stream that is adding the blank line if there is no record anywhere in tabs where the first field is blank. (I actually ran a couple of other tests to definitively arrive at that conclusion) Now I just have to find it.
