ESS / MSS  -- Error in Portal while Accessing Who's Who (Urgent)

Hi Gurus,
I get the following error while accessing who's who, please clarify
Read of object with ID portal_content/com.sap.pct/srvconfig/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.whoiswho/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.fpmapplications/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.whoiswhoapplication failed
some where inside the error log it gives that
Caused by: com.sapportals.portal.pcd.gl.PermissionControlException: Access denied (Object(s): portal_content/com.sap.pct/srvconfig/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.whoiswho/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.fpmapplications/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.whoiswhoapplication)
Is this becasue of the unavailability of  change authorization?
We have'nt actually started the config.
Sera

Hi,
This is because you have to give end user permissions for the portal user ot access the objects. This is an issue with permission.
refer the note 939412 for solution.

    Dear
You will have to create one System for R/3 Server Access, Once you have created that you will have to maintain User mapping for System Access for each individual users, who want to access the DMS Documents from Portal.

  • ESS / MSS Error..

    Hi All,
I have created all JCO destinations and when i test them , the result is successful
But once i click on ess/mss tab in portals, i get the error..
<b>com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Failed to resolve JCO destination name 'SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData' in the SLD. No such JCO destination is defined in the SLD.</b>
But i have maintained SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData in the SLD.. Actually i have two SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData services one is active and another is inactive..
For SAP_R3_HumanResources -- i have used "Logon Ticket" and for SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData -- used userid & pwd.
Actually i have to do UserMapping as my portal userid and R/3 userid are different.. Then in this case am i creating JCO destinations correctly.. If not how to do..
Please throw some light into this problem by your valuable suggestions.

I have SP Server 2010, and when I try to DELETE a rule within an existing Audience, "Property (Account Name) = domain/username", I get this error, "An error has occurred while accessing SQL database or system resources. If this
is the first time you have seen this message, please try again later. If this
problem persists, please contact your administrator."  When I try to "MODIFY" the rule I get this error, "One or more values typed on this page are not valid. Check the text for the indicated fields."
The last time I checked it was working, I'm not aware of any new updates installed recently?  I did a full Profile Synchronization as well, but still not working, please advise? -- Evenstarline

    Hi Sara,
First of all thank you very much for your prompt responses. Here are my comments to each of your suggestions below, and just to let you know I am using a Farm Admin account.  I
was able to do this way after we upgraded from SP 2007 to SP 2010 as well.   I would like to mention I'm not a SP expert, just been given the responsibility due to another person handling it just left, so apologize with some of
    my novice questions below?
    1. When I change the Operators to "Contains" or "Not Contains" get generates this error below.
Error generating in red towards top of the audience page..."One or more values typed on this page are not valid.  Check the text for the indicated fields."
Error occurred where you enter your "Value"..."Could not resolve the user identity. Please re-enter the account name."
    2. We have a 3-server-tier topology (SPWeb, SPDB, and SPFarm).  Does the updates only apply to where the Central Admin is installed, which is the "SPFarm"?  I checked all
3 servers, and NONE of the updates (KB2899494, KB2889845, and KB2883055) you'd mentioned are installed.
    3. I'm new to IISRET, I need to be extra cautious of what I run in production, is this safe to run with no problem?  What does it do?  And How do I run it?
    4. I'm also new to viewing the ULS log.  I'd just downloaded a viewer for it.  I'm assuming the only logs I need to be concern with viewing are within the SPAdmin (where Central
Admin is installed)?  There's so many of them, what should I be looking for exactly?

  • Error WS-32141 while  accessing portal help in 3.0.9.8.4 after  installing intermedia

    Hi All,
I'm hitting the error, "No page has been created for this Content Area (WWS-32141)" while accessing portal help in 3.0.9.8.4.
This error is coming after installing intermedia in my 8.1.7.3 database (not the enable intermedia option in GUI). Is this a known issue?
    Thanks in advance.
    With best regards,
    Nevin

    Zdenek,
I had the same thing happen. What I did was abandon the install, uninstall ALL Oracle from my machine (I had Oracle reports, JDeveloper and other stuff installed). This included uninstalling 8.1.7 (Don't know if I needed to go that far but I did). Once my machine was clean I installed 8.1.7, created a minimal database and installed 9iAS. I didn't get that error again, but the Portal install failed miserably and I'm to the point of starting over again.
One problem I'm having is a recurring blue screen of death with NTOSKRNL.EXE having an unhandled exception, never had that till I installed 9iAS so I am thinking that the error is somehow related. Have you seen that?

  • WebSphere Integration with ESS/MSS Error

    Hi All,
We are trying to setup a scenario where we embed the SAP Portal within WebSphere portlets. Plan is that we would have WebSphere link to the ESS HomePage. We have setup a URL alias in the web-inf with nested_window=1. The websphere guys are using the the WebSphere clipper to create the portlets but this is giving us javascript errors (e.g. Access Denied, etc). This means when we click on any of the ESS framework links e.g. Personal Data the webdynpro spinner comes up and nothing happens i.e. they screen does not change.
Any thoughts on what might be the issue? Is the Clipper the best tool to use?

    Hi Mendonca,
Error is due to mis match of patches.
Check with SAP_HR and EA_HR patches. Try to maintaine the patches to 26 patch. By this u can resolve the issues.
That means Patches from Java side and Backend side need to be maintained at there same levels.
    Regards,
    kishore.

  • How can I call ECC 6.0 data as ESS/MSS in to Portal?

    Hi One and all,
I have ECC 6.0 and portal. How can I Call ECC 6.0 data in to portal?
I have questions please clarify these...
By using sm59 can I assign RFC connection? how?
What is SSO? Is it mandatory to access portal?
Should SLD exist? If yes how can I check wether it is existing or not?
    Where can I configure SLD?
Are JCO's established in the portal automatically or do we  need to configure those?
when Iam maintaining JCO's I didn't find JCO's. Whats the problem?
what are the Tcodes in ECC for checking ESS/MSS in portal?
I need MSS and ESS configuration steps can any one send me link?

  • No preview button or option for all ESS MSS iViews under portal content

    Hi All,
We are doing a green field implementation for one of our clients, we have installed ECC 6.0 with EHP5 in R/3 system and SAP Netweaver Portal 7.02 with SP8. We have also deployed suitable ESS MSS business components from service market place.
    BP_ERP5ESS 1.41
    BPERPESSWDA  1.50
    BP_ERP5MSS 1.51
As it is EHP5 in ECC all the Homepage framework, Areas, Sub areas, services are preconfigured for standard ESS MSS business areas.
In Portal side under Portal content - Content Provided by SAP - End User Content - Employee Self Services -
we are not able to preview any of the iViews. can anyone suggest whether what may be wrong...?

    Hi Sandeep,
    1. Yes we are accessing portal through FQDN
    2. IE 6.0
    3. I mentioned above, its SAP Netweaver 7.02 with SP8
    4. Yes, the user I am using has Super Administrator role
    5. There are roles for ESS in ECC
This problem of preview is for other iViews also. I mean other than ESS MSS iViews.
    Thanks,
    Kalam.

Are you sure you have posted this question in the correct forum?  I don't see how this is Web Dynpro ABAP related. You refer to JCo cache and Java style class names.  I think perhaps you actually should have posted this question in the Web Dynpro Java forum?
